The Regina Pats are wrapping up their BC road swing this weekend.  They have been playing in front of full buildings as fans look to catch a glimpse of Connor Bedard.  Regina has played in front of sell-out crowds across the Division with one final game to go in Prince George.

Swift Current Broncos F Caleb Wyrostok has started his own Cancer fundraising initiative called "Bronco Bucks Cancer". The disease has affected many loved ones around him., He explains his motiviation and the strong response so far.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, features WHL Linesman Troy Semenchuk after he was part of the 109th Grey Cup Officiating crew.  The Prince Albert, SK resident was the Umpire for the game as he juggles both WHL and CFL officiating duties. We will talk to Troy about that experience.

Moose Jaw Warriors F Brayden Yager is an "A" rated prospect according to NHL Central Scouting heading into the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.  Yager and the Warriors are on their BC road swing for the first time since the 2018-19 season. Yager will be our guest.

Finally, Winnipeg ICE F Zach Benson is coming off a big week. The top prospect for the 2023 NHL Entry Draft is the WHL Player of the Week after putting up seven points in two games. He'll wrap up this week's show.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, has the latest news on a pair of trades this week.  Hear from D Nolan Allan following a blockbuster deal that sees him go from Prince Albert to Seattle.  The former Raiders captain is on the move to join a formidable Thunderbirds blueline.  Also, Jakub Demek will take his WHL Championship experience to Kamloops.  The Blazers acquired the 19 year-old Slovak from the Edmonton Oil Kings for four WHL Prospects Draft picks.

Calgary Hitmen F Riley Fiddler-Schultz is in the midst of a US road trip. His team is off to a great start and recently won eight straight games.  Fiddler-Schultz is leading his team both on and off the ice.  He talks about his season and his on-going charitable work off the ice for Veterans, the Food Bank and the Boys & Girls Club of Calgary.

Finally, Prince George Cougars F Riley Heidt is the WHL Player of the Week after recording nine points in three games.  He'll wrap up the show.

Dylan Guenther is staying with the NHL's Arizona Coyotes after four years with the Edmonton Oil Kings. We will take you inside the Coyotes dressing room for the announcement.  

WHL graduate Riley Sawchuk (Tri-City, Edmonton) has been the WHL Canada West Graduate of the Month to begin the season. Riley talks about his start at Mount Royal University in Calgary and just how the WHL Scholarship Program has benefitted him. 

Finally, Tri-City Americans D Lukas Dragicevic is the WHL Player of the Week after a solid road trip with the Americans on their East Division swing. Lukas shares his experiences from the trip and a big decision he had to make in his WHL draft year.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, explores the past, the present and the future this week.

The past - former Edmonton Oil Kings F Jake Neighbours is now with the St. Louis Blues after helping his team to a WHL Championship last season.  He was recently back in Edmonton and stopped by the Oil Kings for a visit. He'll be our guest.

The present - the Red Deer Rebels are off to their best start in franchise history. They are also flirting with the WHL's best win streak to start the season.  General Manager & President Brent Sutter talks about the start and this year's edition of the Rebels.

The future - the WHL had 43 players listed in the NHL Central Scouting's Preliminary Players to Watch List. Seven players were assigned "A" ratings. We will have a breakdown.

Finally, WHL Player of the Week Mazden Leslie of the Vancouver Giants rounds out the show as he joins us in the midst of a Central Division road swing.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition focuses in on three players with different stories.  First, Logan Stankoven has been returned to the Kamloops Blazers after spending nearly five weeks with the Dallas Stars.  The reigning CHL Player of the Year will attempt to lead his hometown team to the Memorial Cup Presented by KiA which they will host in the spring.

Three year Kelowna Rockets F Pavel Novak has won a big battle off the ice.  After a five month fight, he has been declared cancer free. The Minnesota Wild prospect updates his situation from back home in the Czech Republic.

Saskatoon Blades F Connor Roulette has been named the WHL Player of the Week.  Traded to Saskatoon from Seattle to start the season, Roulette has tapped into his Indigenous roots for inspiration.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition puts a wrap on the WHL season for another year.  We will head back to Edmonton for the Oil Kings on-ice celebration following a game six victory over Seattle to claim the Ed Chynoweth Cup.  Hear from the players and coaches following a 2-0 Edmonton win to send them to the 2022 Memorial Cup presented by KiA.

Edmonton Oil Kings General Manager Kirt Hill will join us to discuss the year and give us a preview of the Memorial Cup.  Hill made several key acquisitions over the course of the season to turn the hockey club into a championship one.  We will talk about the moves he made along the way.

What a season for Red Deer Rebels F Arshdeep Bains.  He won the WHL's Bobby Clarke as the league's leading scorer, signed an NHL Entry Level Contract with the Vancouver Canucks as an undrafted free-agent and now prepares to lead his team into the second round of the playoffs.  Bains will talk about all that and more this week.

Finally, for the second time this season, Kamloops Blazers F Logan Stankoven has been named the McSweeney's WHL Player of the Month after putting up 26 points in just 10 games.  He'll wrap up the show.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, updates the 2022 WHL Playoffs with the opening round continuing into a second weekend.  We will take a look at the Saskatoon Blades who forced a game five in Moose Jaw.

Luke Toporowski is enjoying a strong start to the playoffs with the Kamloops Blazers.  The former Spokane Chief sits tied in playoff goals and has his team on the verge of advancing to round two. We'll talk to him about going back to Spokane.

The Portland Winterhawks were the first team to advance to round two.  After finishing up a series sweep in Prince George, we will hear from G Taylor Gauthier and F Gabe Klassen.

Finally, the Medicine Hat Tigers won the WHL Prospects Draft Lottery last week.  They will select first overall next month in the WHL Prospects Draft.  Tigers Director of Player Personnel Bobby Fox will join us to discuss the first overall pick, and a big draft for the Tigers.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition recaps a final regular season game for Regina Pats 16 year-old Connor Bedard in which he hit both the 50 goal and 100 point milestone.  He made an appearance on TSN's That's Hockey following the conclusion of his regular season.

Regina Pats captain Logan Nijhoff has been named the winner of the Dana Brons Honourary Award for his work with Hockey Gives Blood.  Program Co-founder Stu Middleton will tell us why Logan was a fitting winner of the annual award.

Four playoff spots remain up for grabs while only two of the eight first round playoff series are set.  Meanwhile the WHL scoring race for the Bob Clarke Trophy appears to be all but decided headed into the final weekend.

WHL Alumnus Shane Doan is now leading Canada into the Beijing Olympics as the General Manager of the Men's Hockey Team.  The co-owner of the Kamloops Blazers has one eye on gold, and another on the Blazers in Kamloops.

The Swift Current Broncos have removed the interim tag from General Manager Chad Leslie.  We'll update the Broncos situation.

Finally, Logan Stankoven put up 24 points in the month of January including 13 in the final week to be named both the WHL Player of the Week and WHL McSweeney's Player of the Month.  We'll talk to the Dallas Stars prospect about what's motivating him.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, features Edmonton Oil Kings General Manager Kirt Hill.  It's been a challenging time for GM's across the league with constant schedule adjustments due to Covid-19 and weather related postponements.  Hill has made a couple of major roster moves and is all-in on a run at the Ed Chynoweth Cup. 

"The Battle of the Sound" is coming to Seattle's Climate Pledge Arena. It's a game between the rival Seattle Thunderbirds and the Everett Silvertips.  Silvertips COO Zoran Rajcic is happy to be part of it all as the visiting team.  He'll talk more about the February game in the home rink of the NHL's Seattle Kraken.
