Around Us is a DJ / producer duo from Amsterdam who are making serious waves since 2018.

Working diligently day in, day out, growing and developing their style. Respected by their colleagues and admired by the people who consume their music on the dance floor. This is Around Us. The boys quietly joined forces, without fanfare or noise and they produced since that time a lot of productions. Today in 2021, all the key players know Around Us.

With the world’s top DJ’s such as Sasha and Hernan Cattaneo playing their productions, the future looks bright for Around Us. Sasha hammered their "Absentis" track and Cattaneo regularly aired productions such as Sleeping Blue, Bamboo, 8 Steps and United in his DJ sets and podcasts.

In their own words, Around Us is “about melody”. Jan said “We look for strong melodies”. However, we do not label ourselves progressive house or melodic techno. Gaby has a slightly sunnier melodic vibe than me, I tend to go more darker and stronger in my melodies. Above all, Around Us always remains deep”.

With a release list way too long to fit into this bio, stand out tracks have surfaced on some of the world’s lead- ing labels such as TRAUM, Mango Alley, Manual Music, Iconyc, Magnitude Recordings and Click Records. By the end of summer 2020 the duo managed to release over 50 productions!

With true dedication to music, these guys are set to continue making waves further into 2022.

How we know "The Groove Collection" and Jerry?

Jerry was a regular visitor on my panama parties where I was resident dj for the john digweed, Dave Seaman, Sander Kleinneberg and Sasha evenings. From one thing came another and we spoke several times about music and became friends.

After a year or so he had a bookings agency, GC Bookings, where he asked us to be part of and so we did.

De website, the groove collection, was were i met likeminded producers and djs like 16 bit lolitas etc on the forum and that is why i always have love for the groove collection because it all started in the early days where the groove collection was part of.

Jan aka Schaamteloos dj’s, Analog Effect, Around Us

Since the start of my DJ career in 1990 the progressive sound find its way throughout the years and I always heard the name Jerry van Schie in the scene. I never had the change to meet him or speak to him, but we’ve cross paths many times. I knew his face but wasn’t aware at that time he was Jerry. But what I know is that he was a true pioneer in the dutch progressive scene and, like me, a helpful guy that always thought about putting others in the spotlights and I know many dutch dj’s and producers owe a lot to him.
