President Hoornbeek kicks off the MyStory Monday series with UNWavering encouragement for the year ahead.
Chapel begins with a renewed promise from the Scripture---that we grow with every glimpse of Jesus (2 Corinthians 3). Pastor Chris shows us what Jesus looked like as he walked through the Garden of Eden.
The biggest lie that Satan tells us is that "you can't change." 2 Corinthians 3:18 illustrates that transformation is for ALL. Pastor Chris paints the picture for what we will be studying this year (Jesus) and that we are going to become glorious just by looking at him.
In our final chapel of the school year, Pastor Chris shares Paul's final statement to the Galatians (6:18). "The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit brothers. Amen." We hope that you have been blessed by this year's chapel content and Christ-inspired grace.

Pastor Chris defines the gospel as Galatians 2:16: "Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law, but through faith in Jesus Christ." And that is great news! Justification, being the pone time event in which God equips us with Christ's perfect righteousness.

On this very special Veteran's Day Chapel, Brad Fenske, Associate Registrar at UNW and 20-year Army Veteran, and John Morris, retired Colonel and Chaplain, share their stories of God's incredible provision for them and others in the US Armed Forces.
Pastor Chris unpacks Galatians 2:17-20 which is perhaps the key verse in the entire book. Being "crucified with Christ" means Jesus has moved into our lives in that one can't tell us apart.
Our speaker today is Dr. Melissa Mork. Her master's and doctoral degrees are in clinical and forensic psychology and she is a professor and former department chair of the Department of Psychology, Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement here at UNW. When she is not teaching, she provides crisis interventions and post-trauma triage for survivors and families affected by mass shootings. She is a celebrated international keynote speaker and global consultant, a clinical psychotherapist, grief coach, a Certified Humor Professional, and a couple years ago, she competed for Minnesota's Funniest Person at Acme Comedy in Minneapolis. Dr. Mork has authored a few books on topics of grief and mental health (all available in our bookstore and library). She is the host of the podcast, "Mental Health with Dr. Melissa Mork" and the founder and CEO of Mental Health Matters. She currently has more than 40,000 followers on TikTok. Her hobbies include SCUBA, throwing ugly pottery, and laughing at her own jokes.
Good people don't make it to heaven (Gal 2:15). Only JUSTIFIED people do. Pastor Chris encourages UNW to have Gospel Confidence in Life and Gospel Comfort in Death.
Northwestern's aim is to develop Christian leaders in the home, church, community and world. Jeremiah 24 tells us--as believers--to seek the prosperity of our communities. Craig and Molly speak about making things right with one another. Making sure that we meet closure with relationships that may be broken or on the verge of brokenness. They speak about bringing this to God and making sure we include God in these broken relationships.
Ben Glenn speaks about the testing of ones faith and how that brings in perseverance. He continues to portray this through a chalk drawing. Ben continues to speak about how struggles, ups, and downs can create a bigger beautiful picture.
Joe Biancardi speaks about how experiences teach us and grow us. He continues to speak about how the life of a true Christian is characterized by breaking and being built up again.
Dale speaks about bringing our hardships, burdens, and all the heavy things we have been carrying with us to God. He invites us to reflect on these hardships and reflect with God on the hard things we are carrying on our shoulders daily.
Terrance Rollerson speaks about three main things: Listen, respond, stand. He goes further on to speak about each individual main point. He speaks about having faith in the dry seasons.
Tabi Thorne speaks about patience and the life path God has for us. She speaks about how we as humans want to go where we want to go, when we want to go, and how we want to go. She speaks about when we follow God our path may not be the easy way or make the most sense.

Darrin interviews Tim Sawyer and digs deeper into the person he is and how God is working in his life. Tim Sawyer answers questions about his childhood as a missionary kid. His career story and interests.
Rachel Gilson speaks about sexuality. She speaks about trying to not focus on the things that God says "no" to. She continues to go on to say if we focus on what God says "no" to so much it will feel cold and cruel. She goes on to speak about what God says about sexuality.
Darrin Geier gives us a time and space to reflect and process our pain, challenges, pain of others, and celebrating our blessings along with others.
