After pursuing different life directions (Scott an Entrepreneur/Business Owner and Keith a Minister), Scott and Keith began this podcast to share life lessons on every topic under the sun from different perspectives with a common goal.Buckle up - Real talk ahead.
We attribute incredible moments to time and chance far too often. This particular memory of a very definitive moment in my life changed how I viewed time and chance and gave me a much broader view of how the universe really operates. This was just one more moment on my way closer to fine..
This time of year often takes me back to the summer I graduated from high school in 1992. That summer, we hit the road and found out who we were - to ourselves and each other.
Do you ever wonder why we carry the unnecessary baggage of a burden around with us?
I'm 50 and still haven't mastered this yet, but my son taught me this lesson when he was six years old, and a werewolf.

This is because of what living 50 years has taught both of us and the responsibility we feel to help leave this place better than we found it.
Coming to grips with our age isn't that hard to do, but watching a world make the same mistakes we did can be. If nothing else, we hope to at least give everyone something to think about.

No doubt that by now, you've Shane Hawkins, the son of Foo fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins playing their hit song "There Goes My Hero" from the recent tribute concert in Taylor's honor this past weekend. If that's true, you also know that the performance did not disappoint.
It was nothing short of moving to see so many paying tribute, but also Taylor's son honoring his hero - his dad.
There is a lot that can be said about heroes and so for a few minutes, I just wanna share my thoughts about who I believe the real heroes are, here on The Real Deal.

Imagine The Beatles married Queen at The Beach Boys house with ELO officiating the wedding... That marriage would be Jellyfish and their first baby would be this album. Pure talent, incredible songwriting, undeniably ear-pleasing.

The current administration is a bad joke and no one is laughing - except the rest of the world. No other country in the world has an open border except the U.S and one has to wonder why and who is behind it.

With this season's theme of "Storytellers" in mind, Frank Fontsere definitely has a great one to tell. As the drummer for Atlanta based Rap Metal Pioneers " Stuck Mojo" to the drummer to the acclaimed metal band "Fozzy" featuring WWE Wrestling superstar Chris Jericho, Frank has toured the world, entertained 1000's and built a name for himself as one of the hardest hitting and solid drummers in the industry today.
With all of that in mind, Frank decided it was time to leave the music business to pursue other passions as well as the pursuit of his own identity outside of the music business.

As the year winds down, we always reflect on the days leading up to the new year... the possibilities - The failures ... The culmination of a life lived. After attending more funerals than I have ever cared to in a 12 month period, getting older means getting real about the possibility of death. When we were young, it hardly ever crossed our minds... But now, it's an everyday occurrence, almost.
But with that comes the blessings of a life lived and the possibility that each moment brings with it..
yea, getting old ain't so bad.

What are you thankful for?
They don't work. We all know it... but what we may not know is why. What if, with just a little adjustment - you could not only keep your resolutions but you could finally realize your best self... It's possible. We just have to get real about it.

At some point in all of our lives - we have either been bullied or been the bully. Either way, those moments stick with you forever. The sad part is that bullying still exists and will continue to as long as people believe they can exert themselves over someone else. What used to look like someone physically pushing their weight around looks a lot like internet trolls and cancel culture these days.
We have to be aware, be introspective, and proactive all at once to be vigilant against bullies.

Success is the culmination of a series of failures... What lessons have some of your biggest failures taught you?
It all begins with attitude. What you get, is what you give... Couldn't we all use a little more gratitude?
No matter where you are in life... no matter your station or status - someone is always watching you... Being influenced by you...
what kind of influence will you be?
Work is a privilege. Nothing wrong with anticipating a needed break at the end of your workweek. Nor is there anything wrong with enjoying the fruit of your labors... But if we live with the mentality of only working for the paycheck, but not the experience or the knowledge gained, we miss then the benefits of the privilege of working.
How many of us didn't realize the last time that we played outside with our friends when we were kids was the last time we would do that? Or the last time we would talk to a friend before that passed?
The truth is sometimes we know it's the last day on the job and sometimes we don't... but what matters is what we did on the days in between the first day and the last day.
The question we are born asking but stop at some point in life - why? This is a question we should be asking more and more, and yet we arent.... Why? Why, Why WHY?
