The Outdoor Service at the Killman Zoo has been rescheduled for the evening of Sunday September 8th. Regular weekend services are still on. Due to all the rain and incoming inclement weather we are going to postpone tonight’s service in the lion’s den and reschedule it for another date in the future. There is no service at Kingsway tonight. There is also an Outdoor “VBS” Service in the Jarvis Lion’s Park Sunday August 18th at 10am. If it is raining this service will be moved inside to Jarvis Ebenezer Church.

Breaking News: This Sunday after the service is a big BBQ and Potluck at the Baird’s. We’re asking that you help us spread the word as this wasn’t announced last weekend. You can arrive anytime after the Sunday morning service (~11:30am) and we’ll begin eating around 12:30pm. What to bring: Lawn chairs, swimsuit and a salad or dessert. Appearances and lifestyle matter to us. And money-or the lack of it-often determines whether or not we are content. The truth is, our attitudes toward money and possessions reflect the quality of our relationship with God. And, according to the Scriptures, our view of money reveals where our true affections lie. Prosperity is not a sin, but it does bring responsibilities. And scarcity is not a virtue, particularly when it distracts us from the things that truly matter. In this six-week study you will discover God’s view of material wealth. As you dig into the Scriptures, you’ll learn where money comes from, you’ll see how we’re supposed to handle it, and you’ll understand how to live an abundant life, regardless of your financial circumstances. The service is at 9:30am and there’s no need to book seats ahead of time but don’t forget to bring your own lawn chairs, sun shade, and maybe your shades too! We will be providing coffee, water and drinks. The north driveway will be blocked off again, so use the main entrance and try not to drive into the wagon. 🙂 We’re going to provide a printout of the song lyrics this time around to make singing along with us easier, but if you’d prefer to print your own copy ahead of time they are available at kingswaychurch.ca/lyrics. We’re super excited to get together as a family and worship God in the outdoors as well as celebrate all the baptisms! The service is at 9:30am. There’s no need to book seats ahead of time because you’ll be bringing your own lawn chairs. If you need it, bring an umbrella/shade. We will be providing coffee, water and drinks. Please use the main entrance only when driving in as the north driveway will be blocked off and closed from access to the road. Use the conversation starters below to talk with your children about who Holy Spirit is and what He does. Recap from last week’s story: Jesus had given His disciples a special job. He asked them to go and tell people everywhere that Jesus loved them so much He died for them. Then Jesus rose up and went up to heaven but before He did that Jesus told the disciples that “Even though you won’t be able to see Me anymore, I will never leave you. Not ever. The Holy Spirit comforts, teaches, helps us grow in our relationship with God and gives us strength to get rid of the bad habits in our lives. These were the problems God’s people faced as they returned from the exile. But in the midst of their struggles, God sent three prophets (Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi) to remind His people that blessing comes as the result of obedience. In this inductive study of the three “restoration prophets” of Israel, you will discover for yourself how to renew your hope and bolster your confidence in God as you are challenged to deeper levels of obedience. What if it were possible to explore faith freely and ask the questions we all have. What if it were possible to wipe the slate clean and work together to find a new starting point for faith? Starting Point exists to be a safe place to grow, learn, connect, and ask questions and explore faith, Christianity and Jesus. We thought it would be fun to do a mini film festival together. Make a short film (2 minutes or less) about a Bible story or Bible related topic. Act it out, use costumes, photographs, or even animated video. Put as much effort into it as you want, and submit it by midnight on April 29th. Then on Thursday April 30th at 7PM we will be having a live broadcast on our YouTube Channel where we will all view the submissions together and everyone will vote for their favourite film. There will be two categories: One for films made with kid involvement (Parents can absolutely help). One for films made by adults only. A prize package will be awarded for the winning submission from each category and the videos could also be used in one of our future weekend services. Rules: – Films must be 2 minutes total running time or less – Films must be submitted in landscape mode – Films must be submitted by midnight on Wednesday April 29th – Register your submission by completing the form below. You can submit your video by using either Google Drive or Dropbox. Both of these services are free. All you need to do is upload it to one of these platforms and share your file with kingsway@kingswaychurch.ca. Watch to learn how to share a file with Google Drive. We wanted to let you know of two Inductive Bible Study Training workshops that are coming to Emmanuel Bible Church in Simcoe this April. On Friday April 5th, Mark Sheldrake will be teaching a 3-hour workshop called The Essentials of Inductive Bible Study. This is a FREE workshop that will teach participants the basics of the Inductive Bible Study Method using chapter 1 of 1 Thessalonians. Through this workshop, participants will learn basic observation skills, learn how to interpret the text in the context of the passage, and how to apply what they are learning to their lives. On Saturday April 6th, Mark Sheldrake will be teaching a full-day workshop called How to Study New Testament Letters. This workshop will run from 9am – 5pm, and will teach, in-depth, the skills of Inductive Bible Study. This is an excellent workshop for those who are looking to strengthen their skills in Inductive Bible Study. Using the book of Titus, participants will learn how to overview a New Testament Letter, observe a chapter, and learn to effectively use cross-referencing and online word study tools to enhance their study. The cost for this workshop is $40. Our Kings Kids began sponsoring two kids in Haiti for school last year – Artiste & Louis. Last year we successfully raised enough funds for both to go to school and to give each of their families a food basket at Christmas. Our Kings Kids would like to do the same this year so our sponsor kids can continue their education. Artiste is having some problems with his vision, so we would like to raise a little extra money to help him to see an eye doctor and get glasses. Sunday June 24, immediately following the service we are having a bake sale and hotdog BBQ as part of raising funds for Artiste and Louis’ schooling. Help us reach our goal in time to get Artiste and Louis registered for school in September. Donations for lunch or baking can be made by cash, cheque or with your debit card – just mark “Kings Kids Haiti fundraiser” on your slip and envelope. They also had to chug a Froster as fast as they could (Furbites did it in 11 seconds!) Thanks to everyone who came out and made it an awesome day!
