The goal of this first lesson is to read ten words in the context of a simple story about a Thai girl named Maanii. Five consonants: ก /kɔɔ /, ต /tɔɔ/, ม /mɔɔ/, น /nɔɔ/, and อ /ɔɔ/ as well as two long vowels [in Thai "saah-ra"]: - า /aa/ and -ี /ii/ are introduced.
