Let’s talk about the mundane ways in which we can appreciate ourselves, whatever state we’re in.
The movie “You Again” can be a useful tool in exploring why we, as people, are often conflicted with our past. Whether you’re a neurodivergent person who used to be bullied or a former bully, let’s dig in.
All of my podcast episodes are from an autistic adult’s perspective, so keep that in mind!
Thank you for watching!!

There is so much to say about how autistic people feel the need to mask and become extremely self-aware to the degree that we can (sometimes) manage our daily interactions. However, let’s zero in on one facet of this phenomenon…how it contributes to our perception of others.
Let’s talk about how a lot of autistic adults can be prone to developing an avoidant attachment style, and what we can do about it.
Let’s talk about where these labels come from and how we can minimize our own people-pleasing tendencies.
Some of us soft girlies are experiencing singleness in a way that isn’t ideal (not on a Hallmark movie way, but in a “I want to split my bills in half” kind of way). Let’s talk about why that is and how we can be gentle with ourselves in the process.
Why do we struggle to have empathy for ourselves when relationships don’t go our way? How define “failure” in relationships, anyway?
Let’s talk about what it means to be friendly and to cultivate community from an autistic point of view.
Relationships can be tricky in general, but let’s talk about why they can be difficult for neurodivergent people specifically.
The neurodivergent dating game is just DIFFERENT. It has to be. Time to make our own rules!
Let’s talk about how aesthetics impact the way we view other people and what that has to do with neurodivergence.
Let’s talk about how autistic people are viewed as “unintelligent,” and in other cases, “super-smart,” and figure out how to land somewhere in between. FACT CHECK: I MEANT 1900s! Lena was a popular actress, singer, dancer, and activist in the 1900s. NOT 90s. Also, she wasn’t friends with Marilyn Monroe. We’re talking about the pressure for Black women to be “pleasant,” autism in women, alexythimia, and how we can use autistic-coded characters to model regulating our emotions.
We get annoyed with the phrase “not like other girls,” but what does it mean for autistic women pursuing friendships with each other?
Women! We love them, but do we listen to them? Here’s an unfiltered episode for the autistic women in the room.

Let’s talk about how confidence, being neurodivergent, and the dating market had to do with becoming a Pick Me. How do we break these cycles? Tune in to find out!
What’s at the root of insecurity? How do our insecurities affect the people around us? What does the role of community play in healing from neurodivergent childhoods?
Does the idea of main character energy serve the collective good? In this episode, I talk about neurodivergent experiences in the wellness space, BIPOC, and other people in the margins as we navigate individualism in wellness. Lastly, I talk about what role art can play as we grapple with these ideas.
The Color Purple, Simone Biles, Keke Palmer...They all show us how deeply Black women desire romantic connection. Let's talk about Black women, the effects of neurodivergence in dating, and how to maintain a sense of self as we pursue romance.
Hey cousins! Let’s talk about celebrities who have “fallen from grace” recently, including Matt Rife (briefly), Selena Gomez, and others. We’re going to chat about what it means when our parasocial relationships are called into question and what that can mean for collective liberation. Please know that many of the concepts I describe are not my own, but devices introduced by scholars, writers, and advocates whose work has laid down the groundwork for mine. Please leave a review if something resonates with you!
What is an “energy vampire?” In this episode I explore what it means to cultivate communities that hold us accountable, toxic dynamics, and the difference between the two.
A little bit about Love Is Blind, a little bit about neurodivergence, and a little bit about what community actually means. Is it possible for someone to “deserve” a relationship? Is it true that “no one owes you anything” when it comes to dating? Where do people’s goals for community differ, and where do they intersect?
Let's interrogate the phrase "We're both adults" when it comes to two of its typical areas of application: bullying and age gaps in dating. What actually is a power dynamic, especially when it pertains to a digital age, neurodivergence, and new definitions of power?
Are you obsessed with self-improvement? I’ve been thinking lately about how self-help culture often centers shame, as well as how that can translate to how we hold people in our own lives accountable. Here’s an episode of “Plot Twist, Please” about that very thing!

Pretty privilege doesn’t have a downside, actually. Commodification does.
What actually is "pretty privilege?" I thought this would be a better way to do a deep dive about "pretty privilege" as a structural inequality and how individual commodification specifically affect autistic women's mental health/ well-being than posting a slew of reactionary TikTok videos out of frustration.
NOTE: I don't support bullying and all of my analysis is based on a combination of anecdotal accounts and data-centering feminist theory.

The Oscars is rarely a place where socio-political discourse is welcomed. That being said, there is so much more to “the slap” than a lot of white people know. When it pertains to black pain, it’s time for them to listen.

Ableism is often forgotten within discussions surrounding prejudice and inequality. Let's talk about the kind of ableism that we might witness on a daily basis, as well as how to be more empathetic toward those with disabilities.
Hey, folks! In this episode, I chat with my friend Haggai Simon about ableism, relationships, and the Netflix series "Love On the Spectrum."
Notes:

In this episode, I briefly cover my response to the ICE whistleblower news, how to advocate for yourself and navigate a biased healthcare system, and questions you should be asking your therapist.
We talk about radical empathy in social justice spaces a lot, and lately, I found myself thinking about what it means for the individual. In this episode, I talk about why some people, or rather, most people, struggle to change.

Do you remember the day you realized you were black both onstage and offstage? I sure do, and I thought I'd bring a friend along to help tell that story. Meet Myesha, Artistic Director of Perceptions Theatre. Since art often imitates life, she's going to chat with us about her experiences being a black actor, director, content creator, and Artistic Director, as well as how that has shaped her artistic approach.
How ya feelin', friends? Ready to be anti-racist, I hope! In case you don't know this, I am a black woman. That's a huge part of my identity, and I'd be remiss if I didn't address what black people are experiencing throughout the world right now, as well as what we've endured for hundreds of years. This episode is more of a "stream of consciousness" moment for me to express what I'm feeling and, particularly, what I mean when I say that "silence is violence."
Welcome to the podcast! In this episode, I'm talking with actress, vocalist, dancer, and voiceover artist Alaina Wis about her professional journey from being a Disney Performer to being a thriving boss lady. She gives tips on how to get into the voiceover business and shares her perspective on what it's like to navigate business ownership with the uncertainty of following one's passions.
