Know your church stuff: there's no such thing as a "nondenominational" church. The church/congregation will have some kind of teaching. Their theology is most likely from one of three major traditions in the West. In this episode, I introduce the value of using the name "Lutheran" as a description for others to be able to discern what it is that we teach and practice. Our church, The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod (LCMS.org) is one particular and distinctive branch of the Lutheran Church. You can read more about our beliefs on its Web site.
"If you could see how many daggers, spears, and arrows are aimed at you every moment, you would be glad to come to the sacrament as often as you can." M. Luther, Large Catechism, line 82.
