3. Describe how to record a sound. Click the record bottom on your software and start talking and click the stop bottom when you finish. As soon as you done recording before you doing anything else make sure you saved your file. Just click file, choose save as and get the project the name If you use an application rather than Audacity you might have to turn your recording into a mp3 file. Because of the smaller file size mp3s download more quickly than other audio file formates and they are ideal for podcasting. 4. What is a podcast? Just becuase you´ve created an audio file doesn´t mean you´ve created a podcast. The name podcast implies that your file has been broadcast. So you´ve got it posted online where you audience can find and listen to the recording. To get your recording out the massege you have to upload your audio file to a website or blog by transfering the audio file to your webserver as any other piece of content you put on your site. One common misconception about the podcast is that you load your audio files directly to podcasting site just like itunes, podcast.com or padcastdaily.com A podcaster site is simply a directory of podcast To get your podcast listed on a podcaster you have to submit the location of your podcast manually. The final step in uploading the podcast is to create a specially formated text file ussually xml which stands for extensible mark up language and move it up to your webserver with your audio file. This file allows listeners to automatically subscribe to your podcast and helps your podcaster sites automatically update your listeners whenever you post a new episode. Once this file is loaded to the server along with your audio file you register the url for the location of this file with the podcasters. The special format you use for your text is called rss2.o
