The COVID-19 outbreak has been crazy altering our lives in various ways, particularly in the area of staying home to stay safe. In this episode, Fikun and I talk about having a productive stay at home.
Making decisions can be difficult, especially when you have so many options. Today is the Presidential Election in Nigeria and I decided to talk about decision making on Toba Talks.
Last week was an educating, busy and fun week for me and this was because of the Social Media Week. I got so lost in the awesomeness of the week till Saturday had come to meet me unprepared, but when an unexpected listener commended my recordings today, I realized that it wasn't too late to put out this episode on perspectives. We all look but see differently.
On this episode, I wondered and asked Justin who happens to be the first male guest on the show (can I hear a round of applause) what is the main reason people get into relationships, is it fulfillment of social expectations or personal reasons?
We are in the disruptive age, a time for "woke-ness", a generation that questions the pre-existing rules. There's also a lot of pressure on the youths to achieve and fall in line with social norms and time frames. I invited Esther Akitoye, a life coach, to join this conversation.
For the last episode of the year, I decided to talk about friendship with more focus on fake friends. I also decided to take the opportunity to thank all my listeners and guest, and also chip some advice on new year resolutions.

There are certain privileges we enjoy and we are oblivious to. We should be careful to not look down on people who don't have certain privileges and try to help out as much as we can. Privileges gives us extra push, makes lives easy and puts us at an advantage in the race of life.
Here's the final part to the series "Talking About Society" and today is about sexuality. Despite being a taboo in this region, there's been a lot of online chatter about homosexuality lately and I felt it's about time I came out and also speak on this matter and who's is more open-minded (than me gansef) to have this discussion with other than Fikun? And yes, I said gays are the solution to major global problems. NB: You need a certain level of open-mindedness to enjoy this episode.
Growing in a broken home can be difficult and can affect a child in many ways, maybe particularly their self-esteem but I think there is something children from broken homes need to understand about the mother/father who left.
For this episode, I had to embark on a search for a feminist to answer some of my questions. Tosin Oshodi was brilliant as we discussed to the death of chivalry and why it may be okay for ladies to go down on one knee, or two if she pleases, to propose to a man, but most importantly, she settled the argument "God is a woman."
Our youthful years tend to be plagued with worries of how the future would be. We want to save and work hard for that mansion, the cars, the beautiful family and all and it sometimes seems to take away the joy of the present and blind us to the fact that there's more to life.
