The importance of oil and gas has never been more divisive or destructive than in today’s modern world. Wars have been declared and thousands have died in the name of sourcing, claiming and producing oil for themselves or to play the financial market. As time and technology have progressed, the opportunities and risks to extract oil resources have risen to maximum levels across the globe; one method being used for this is the instalment of drills which burrow thousands of feet underwater.
Unfortunately on April 20th 2010, the risk and danger of such extraction overcame the opportunity for oil when, due to a rupture in the drilling platform of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig resulted in a catastrophic explosion that killed 11 people and injured many more. The cause of the explosion and subsequent aftermath resulted in a colossal oil spill which lasted four months and amassed to approximately 60,000 square miles across the Gulf of Mexico.

On June 8, 1989, in the quiet city of Richmond, in Vancouver, British Columbia, a body was found in the yard of an abandoned house. The victim was Cindy James, a 44-year-old nurse.
Cindy had been drugged, strangled, and her hands and feet were tied. Mount Everest, or Sagarmatha, stands 29,000 feet above sea level, and its summit is the highest point on Earth. It was created 50 to 60 million years ago when the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates collided. The forces that pushed the rocks together all those years ago are still going strong, and every year, Everest's summit rises by a quarter of an inch.
On May 29th 1953, New Zealand mountaineer Edmund Hillary and Nepali-Indian Sherpa Tenzing Norgay became the first people ever to reach the summit. At the time, that was a huge deal!
However, today over 5,000 people have successfully climbed Mount Everest, some multiple times. Nevertheless, it should always be remembered that ascending Mount Everest is an extremely challenging feat, even for the most experienced mountaineers. One of the most significant dangers is the high altitude. At 26,000ft, you enter what is known as the "death zone." the final stretch just before the summit where the oxygen levels become too low to support human life. Spending too much time in the death zone can cause altitude sickness and brain swelling and this is where the mountain claims most of its victims.

Karen Wetterhahn was an internationally respected Professor Of Chemistry and an expert on heavy metals' effects on living systems, especially their role in causing cancer. She was a rising star and destined to become one of the most celebrated professors Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, had ever seen. During the 20 years Karen dedicated to the college, she published more than 85 research papers and helped establish the Women in Science Project, which enabled women to increase their share of science majors from 13 to 25 per cent. However, the heavy metals she so passionately researched to save others, by a cruel irony, took her life in the most heartbreaking way imaginable.

Searching for the most haunted places in Indiana, you'll notice that most lists include the Whispers Estate, located in the city of Mitchell. With a long and tragic history, it has garnered a reputation for being one of America's most ghost-filled houses. In today's video, we'll be exploring the history and hauntings of the Whispers Estate.

The story in this video was sent in by Todd, who, between 1989 and 1994, worked on the ramp for Delta Airlines at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. During his time there, he worked on the haunted L1011 aircraft that used spare parts from Eastern airlines flight 401 that crashed on December 29th 1972. Just a bit of background on that crash; flight 401 was a scheduled flight from JFK, New York, to Miami; the crash happened after the cockpit crew were preoccupied with a burnt-out landing gear indicator light and failed to notice that the autopilot had inadvertently been disconnected; as a result, the aircraft gradually lost altitude and crashed into the Florida Everglades. Of the 176 passengers and crew onboard, 101 lost their lives.
In the aftermath of the crash, parts of the crashed aircraft were salvaged and refitted into other L-1011s. In the months and years following the crash, numerous stories began circulating about sightings of dead crew members sitting on board these aircraft, and here we have a first-hand account from Todd, who worked one of those L1011's.

Pluckley is surrounded by beautiful countryside, orchards, and grazing sheep. No one would believe that the village has a much darker side, but with reports of terrifying shadow figures, sorrowful apparitions and strange sightings is it any wonder that Pluckley was once named in the Guinness Book of Records as the ‘most haunted village in Britain’. Decades ago the resident parish priest held a number of exorcisms around the village in the hope of ridding the place of its many paranormal incidents. It would appear that these attempts to cast out any of the manifestations didn’t work. Some of the tales told here are hundreds of years old, others much more recent. In February 1891, adverts started appearing in newspapers papers about “Ouija, the Wonderful Talking Board,” describing it as a magical device that answered questions “about the past, present and future with marvellous accuracy” and promised a link “between the known and unknown, the material and immaterial.” The mysterious talking board was marketed as a family board game. However, it soon became apparent that it was not harmless family fun to some but rather a Tool of the devil that sometimes held sinister consequences.

There will always be a slight risk attached to hikers who venture deep into vast areas of wilderness in the many National Parks throughout the world. However, the amount of unfortunate souls who either vanish off the face of the earth during these hikes or end up dead in odd circumstances seems excessive.
Some of the incidents involving young children or inexperienced hikers are easily explained. Most hiking experts say they made common mistakes like taking on more than they could handle or failing to time their turnback to beat the sunset. At a little after midnight on the 8th of March 2014 passengers of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 were called to prepare for boarding. By 12.38am all 227 passengers and 12 crew members were on board and ready to make their journey from Kuala Lumpur Airport to Beijing. Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah was given clearance from air traffic control to prepare for takeoff. The Boeing 777 shot down the runway, reaching a speed of 180 mph before taking off at 12.42am. The 227 passengers came from 14 different countries and included five children. Malaysia Air Traffic Control was in charge of tracking the plane until it passed into Vietnamese Airspace. MH370 climbed steadily to 35,000 feet and moved northwards over the South China Sea towards Vietnam. It could be seen as a small blip on the screen as Lumpur radar radioed the captain at 01.19, “Malaysian 70, contact Ho Chi Minh, 120 decimal 9”. To which Captain Shah replied, “Goodnight Malaysian 370”. The blip continued to travel across the radar screen until it reached the outer edge and disappeared from view...Episode narrated by Top5s

Picture the scene. A high-ranking member of the United States government is making a speech in a crowded shopping mall. Suddenly, gunmen appear in the crowd and open fire on the official’s security team. In the chaos that follows, the official and several of the crowd are taken hostage and the last thing anyone sees of either the official, the other hostages or the gunmen is them speeding away in a van.
The US intelligence and security services are at a complete loss. Somehow, these gunmen have managed to evade every traditional security measure put in place to allow the US authorities to identify possible terrorists within US borders. The hostage-takers planned everything down to the most minute detail allowing them to quite literally disappear with their hostages, so they can make their demands. They warn that if their demands are not met within 24 hours then they will begin executing the hostages.
With no leads, the US president turns to one of the most classified departments within the CIA and demands their assistance. Before the 24 hours is up, the US authorities know where the hostages are being kept, how many terrorists are guarding them and where they are positioned so that when the US Navy Seals carry out their rescue, they are able to do so with maximum efficiency and zero casualties amongst the hostages.
**The outcome of this fictional scenario was viewed as the ultimate goal of a small group of forward-thinking individuals within the United States intelligence communities who, beginning in the early 1970s, began research into the possibility of using psychics to gather intelligence on US adversaries. If successful, then the possibilities for psychic spies and even psychic warriors who could kill an enemy soldier with their minds were limitless. The end results of America’s investigation into psychic warfare have been largely criticised and mocked by the mainstream media and government while behind closed doors, whispers have been repeated of success stories and that despite officially ending in 1995, a branch of the US government continues to investigate the psychic phenomenon and may have even utilised psychics in operations as recently as in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria.

Unless you are Canadian or live in Canada you may not have heard of the "Highway Of Tears"...we hadn't!... But we feel it is important to highlight the disproportionately high number of women, who have either disappeared without a trace or have been found murdered in or around a 450 mile stretch of Highway that runs between Prince George and Prince Rupert in British Columbia, Canada.
**The 1969 unsolved rape and murder of Gloria Moody, a 26-year-old mother of two, who was beaten and left to bleed to death just outside Williams Lake, is considered to be its first victim.
Since Gloria's death, the total of known victims who have died or disappeared in similar circumstances around the same area is thought to be well over 40, and that is just ones that have been reported! Many but certainly not all of them are Indigenous Canadian women of all ages.**
The phenomenon became so mysterious and frequent that in 2005 project E-Pana was set up by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) with the sole purpose of solving cases of missing and murdered persons along the Highway of Tears, and although it started with the scope of investigating victims of Highway 16, within a year of formation, it expanded to include victims along Highways 5, 24 and 97, for women who had vanished in similar circumstances.
Some of the missing have since been found murdered, although a large proportion of them remain unsolved, even after the emergence of DNA testing... For these victims families, although it is the worst possible outcome, at least they have been able to lay their loved ones to rest.
For others, the worst thing is not knowing what has happened to their loved ones who have just vanished off the face of the earth...For them there is no closure, no remains to bury and no explanation.
In this episode, we will focus just on disappearances in the hope that it will trigger a memory that could lead to unlocking the mystery of what happened to these women.

Of all the serial killers we are going to look at in our murderous mind series; Andrei Chikatilo was in our opinion by far the worst. He was an intelligent man but was chronically shy with low self-esteem and depressive tendencies whose sexual inadequacies drove him to conjure up sadistic fantasies in his mind that he couldn't suppress. And in a reign of terror that lasted 12 years he acted on these cravings in the most depraved and heinous way. as a school teacher, he used his position to prey on and abuse the most vulnerable people in society…..children. If this wasn't bad enough, he took pleasure in torturing his victims for his own sexual pleasure.
Chikatilo became known as the Rostov Ripper and mainly due to the mistakes made by the police at the time he was able to kill at least 56 children and young adults, both male and female. With today's modern forensics and policing he would probably have been caught even before he killed his first victim..., but sadly in what became known as one of the biggest police blunders ever, Chikatilo was able to evade capture and subject over 50 other innocent people to the grimmest deaths imaginable.
This is the horrific story of a man many argue must have been mentally unbalanced, to do what he did to another human being, but as you’ll see all the murders he committed were premeditated, and at times he was devious in the victims he chose. In 1888 London was a far different place than we see today.... it was the largest capital city in the world, but also the most deprived. Its population had swelled to around 6.9 million and Victorian London was in full swing… In the more affluent parts, it was being transformed with modern concert halls, restaurants and hotels being constructed. However, in the East End of London it was a different story.... Whitechapel, in particular, was considered one of the worst parts of London. For its 250,000 inhabitants, life was tough..
The area was overcrowded and littered with crime. The working, living and sanitation conditions for those who lived there were unbearable. The poverty-stricken residents lived in the dimly lit maze of roads and alleyways that were often smeared with human and animal excrement and the smell drifting through the slums was putrid. Many of the residents were foreign immigrants with little or no money who worked long hours for just a few shillings.
For the women living in these slums, many had no choice but to resort to prostitution to earn enough to eat, during this era around 1,200 prostitutes were working in Whitechapel. Most of them were alcoholics who frequented the dingy bars in the area in search of clients…
These ladies of the night were considered the pits of society, and if they were killed in the hands of a customer it went virtually unreported. This was a side of London that others preferred to forget about. That was until until a person would become the subject of one of the most mysterious and infamous killing in British history…. Jack The Ripper.

It is one of the most famous and at the same time one of the most controversial cases in UFOlogy. Travis Walton is now a name that has become synonymous with the alien abduction phenomena thanks in no small part to the mass media attention his case received at the time. This profile was only raised further with the release of the 1993 movie “Fire in the Sky” which chronicled the events surrounding his abduction. But for all those who believe Walton’s story, there seem to be an equal number of people who doubt his authenticity and both he and the other witnesses to the events that fateful night have come under personal attacks by those claiming they faked the whole thing as part of some money making scheme.
Walton’s story has left researchers, sceptics and law enforcement asking countless questions regarding their respective fields of interest. But the one question everyone seems to want to know the answer to is this; just where was Travis Walton between November 5th and November 10th, 1975. Was he as some have suggested, hiding out in a cabin or a tent deep in the forests of Arizona, waiting to re-emerge with tall tails of aliens? Or was he indeed carried away by some unknown force for reasons that still elude us?
In this Destination Declassified video, we are going to break down key points in the Travis Walton case. It is not our aim to prove Walton is telling the truth nor are we here to suggest he is a liar but until he or his colleagues come forward admitting it is a hoax or some previously undiscovered evidence emerges that proves he is telling the truth, we are left with deciding for ourselves what we want to believe.

On April 19th, 1995, Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols conspired to blow up the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.....anti-government militant Timothy McVeigh parked a truck outside the building that was packed with explosives which he detonated before fleeing the scene.
The blast and resulting building collapse killed at least 168 people and injured 680. The explosion destroyed or damaged 324 other buildings within a 16-block radius, shattered glass in 258 nearby buildings, and destroyed or burning 86 cars, causing an estimated $652 million worth of damage. until the 2001 September 11 attacks, the Oklahoma City bombing was the worst terrorist attack ever carried out on American soil.
Most people would be appalled at such an act, but for 18-year-old Eric Harris and 17-year-old Dylan Klebold, it was the inspiration behind the mass shootings at Columbine High School.
And it all took place almost to the day, four years later…
