Emily grew up in Taipei and became an international student in the US starting at the age of 12, practicing her English, and learning some very-American sports and activities. During her time in the US, she lived in Michigan, Hawaii, Massachusetts, and New York City. She moved back to Asia in 2007 to work in television and journalism.
Co-founder of Ghost Island Media, a multilingual podcast network based in Taiwan, with current affairs programs in Mandarin, English, and French. Our shows range from climate, cannabis, gender, culture, diplomacy, China, documentaries, Taiwan, and politics. We also run an emerging creators program for students and interns. We've been nominated for some cool podcasts and journalism awards, including winning Best Podcast Host in Taiwan in 2021.

DD is from Istanbul, Turkey and she's a bakery chef in hotels back home. In 2020, she came to the U.S. as an Au-Pair babysitter right before the pandemic started. She worked for three families in three states within the span of two years on a J-1 visa. She talks about her working experiences and some tips and perks as an international au-pair employee. Kevin is a cool biracial fellow that I met at work and he shares his work as an ESL teacher in different cities in China between 2007-2010, then again from 2013-2015. We actually had chai while chatting. He started teaching kids in Shanghai for 5 years. Later moved to Xiamen and began learning Mandarin there with her girlfriend (now wife). Hank and his wife Hayley live in the Denver area with their two dogs Gwen and Cody. Hank is a graduate student at Regis University and is pursuing dual licensure for counseling and marriage and family therapy. Eirliani Abdul Rahman is Executive Director of a not-for-profit YAKIN (Youth, Adult survivors & Kin in Need) which seeks to help child victims and adult survivors of child sexual abuse. She is also Director at the Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation founded by the Nobel Peace Prize laureate. In September 2015, the #FullStop to #childsexualabuse campaign that Eirliani led on behalf of Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kailash Satyarthi reached 16 million people over six weeks. Eirliani edited Satyarthi's book Will for Children, a collection of essays on child labour, published in December 2016. She also sits on Twitter's Trust & Safety Council. Eirliani writes for the Huffington Post and the India Today Group's DailyO on the issues of child abuse and child online safety. A graduate of the London School of Economics and Warwick University, Eirliani was in the Singapore Foreign Service from 2005 to 2015, serving in Berlin as First Secretary (Political), and then in Delhi as Political Counsellor. An avid rock climber and mountaineer, she now lives in Colorado, the US (written by the Editorial Review).
