Calvin runs a youtube channel named Nivlac57 and frequents the Sloppy Mechanics Public Page. Sloppy is actually where I first saw them and have followed for a long time! Their brand of vehicle modification is all about budget HP and using what you have to make the most power!
I can't wait for you to hear their story! Their racing heritage goes back to the early 1900s when Andrew's grandfather raced cars!!

Lyle Barnett is a badazz in every aspect! I first saw Lyle on the $10k Drag Shootout leading Team Bigun to the show win! His attitude and ability has been inspiring to watch since then! They won the show with a turbo LS foxbody Mustang they called Beer Money. They kept the car after winning and still race it in a ton of events across the country! Lyle has been very fast in race cars but his newest piloting may be the fastest yet!! He is a driver for the Elite Motorsport/Motion Raceworks ProMod team and has seen 200+ mph many times! Nikko Cristoferi is a mad man!! His nitrous huffing SBC Malibu was his first project car, and he built it in a one car garage in his apartment complex!! He was a 10 bolt destroyer and tells a few stories of roadside repairs of new center sections!! Nikko and his co-pilot have attended 4 RMRWs in the Malibu. His co-pilot even bought their first project car at a junkyard along the route of 1.0 last year!!
Jason Hurley and the Meltdown Firebird are synonymous with Rocky Mountain Race Week! Big inch, big block Chevrolet powered with twin 88mm turbos in a second gen Firebird, yes please!! Jason tells the story of purchasing the car for $350 and the memories of building it with friends through many different powertrain setups. Boo has competed in several Drag and Drive events with his 8 second Turbo LS Mustang. Rocky Mountain Race Week 2021 1.0 saw him compete in Rowdy Radial - 26x8.5 tires and 1000+ hp is a testament to putting together a good combo!!! He ended up in third place behind the MAK TV guys, after both of them drove the last two days on hurt setups!!

The freaking SSC Tuatara goes 331 mph!!! 1750 hp and built in the USA!! This car is insane! SSC is an American Hypercar manufacturer that just increased the Production Car Speed Record forward by more than 50 mph!! Nelson Racing Engines developed a twin turbo 5.9 liter engine that produces 1750 hp!!! The best part about this run? This was in a customer car! Car number 1 that belongs to a gentleman in Philadelphia!! Does that mean we'll see a 400 mph "production" car in our lifetime?
Then Garrett Duggins returns to celebrate 50 podcasts!! He was our first guest so we had to have him back to mark the occasion! Billy started at Comp Cams after his move to Memphis with his wife and first child! But his affliction for engines began way before then! He grew up in rural Mississippi and that allowed him the chance to play with engines at an early age on the ponds/streams around the house!
He started at Comp in 1995 and quickly moved from the Tech Line to Customer Support with some of the biggest names in racing! And it's all history from there! Just wait until you hear some of the names he worked with to develop race winning performance!!

Kevin is known for building some of the strongest, best performing transmissions!! He has been involved in automotive racing and high performance since he was a small kid when his dad raced dirt track!! He tells the story of coming home everyday from school and working on the race car with his dad! But the automatic transmission class at Tulsa Technical is what put him on this path. He wanted to learn to build/repair automatic transmissions for himself so he took a 10 week course but about halfway through the course, someone dropped off a Turbo350 transmission for him to rebuild and it was all down hill from there.
Hensley's Transmission started as a part time business in his basement, and when the insurance company wouldn't insure the business at his home, he rented a spot and got to work! He talks about how anxious that move was to leave a regular job and do strike out on your own.

We discussed his 5 year 97 Eclipse GSX build and how he became a car guy! He was drawn to turbo Eclipse's when his mom would street race her GS-T with him in the car as a kid. And how his dad would daily drive a 63 Chevy truck!!

Matt (and his team) host Rocky Mountain Race Week and for the first time, Race Week 2.0!! If you have lived under a rock, RMRW is a week long endurance event for your racecar!! You, and a co-pilot if you have one, load up in your racecar and drive to a different track each day, typically covering 250-325 miles between tracks!
Matt tells us about how the event began after competing in a Hot Rod Drag Week and wanted an event that felt more inclusive for racers that weren't using big budgets and corporate sponsors to build their racecars. "Grassroots event" is used a lot when talking about this event, and it sums up the feel very well. Everyone talking to everyone and being immersed in cars for an entire week meant we were not talking politics or religion!! There are 13 classes to get in with Index classes as slow as 14.0!!
Matt and his team can be seen talking to racers everyday of the event and answered a ton of questions about the #NarxKart leading up to the event! I'd almost bet that more people talk to June than talk to Matt, because she is "THE Person" you show your daily time slip for your entered class.
I can't thank them enough for providing a second race this year which allowed us the opportunity to even attend.

Rocky Mountain Race Week Day 2 recap - 215 mile drive, tire clearance issues for the #NarxKart, so so tired from only getting 3 hours of sleep.
Dino Cardella tells the story of how he and the crew met Carl Werner on the 2014 Hot Rod Drag Week. Over the next few years Carl became a good friend and this trip was a tribute to him. Carl passed away from a battle with lung cancer in 2017. Since RMRW 2.0 was going to hit the same tracks from Drag Week 2014, Dino and the boys decided to bring the LS2 powered Ventura that was once Carl's car!! I'll let Dino tell the rest, but let's just say they had fun and made great memories!!

I talk to Joel Clark of the 301 Street Cars crew about his adventures leading up to and during the event! They built this car in 42 days and drove it over 1000 miles before a rocker arm decided it didn't want to play anymore......I'll let him tell that story.
I go over what day one was like for Dusten and I, beginning with an interview by Kyle Loftis of 1320Video and the burst in subs we received from that!! My first race was against Royce Payton, in a 7 second GT350 Mustang he calls Nightmare!! Needless to say, the video is really cool looking of him smoking me, lol!!

When I asked Ron, "what is the future of Vengeance Racing", he answered "Continued Domination". That mentality has motivated them since opening the shop in 2006. From the beginning, Ron had the plan to offer customers a completely different experience than your typical performance shop. He explains there is an employee that updates customers almost daily on their builds with pictures, that is her sole job!
Their website shows the different level of performance packages available. You can select a package, set an install appointment and be kept up with the progress of your upgrades throughout the entire process. But, they are typically backlogged 2.5-3 months, so get on the list now!!

Chris Delgado is a tuning wizard! He got his start tuning when his grandpa bought him a dirt bike and showed him a few "tricks" on the carb for that bike. Since then he has evolved from carbs to turbo efi setups, and tunes some of the fastest cars in the country, like Godzilla. Mike Losh is a car guy all the way! He appreciates all types of vehicle builds and takes the time to notice the little things the owners put into their build to set it apart. My tells us the story behind Cloud9 and how he became a household name. But he also tells us about other builds before that truck that were featured in magazines. Plus he gives a glimpse of what it is like to work 60 hours a week at your day job then another untold amount of time to operate a successful aftermarket parts business.
Slosh Tubz started with a pair of C10 inner fenders that were custom built for his first love, a C10 his granfather owned and drove while Mike was growing up (and even drove into Mike's adulthood, lol). Cloud9 made a statement when it hit the scene and made it's rounds at car shows and magazine coverage. Orderes began coming for Slosh Tubz, and Mike hit the ground running. Today, Slosh Tubz offers more than 25 products for GM and Ford trucks from the 40s through the 90s. There are many products swirling in Mike's head and he hints at a few that are coming soon!

Mike is a second generation engine builder with gasoline in his veins. He has built some of the winningest combos on the tracks, or streets, today. He will build anything and everything you can bring him. His knowledge comes from a father who was always wringing every ounce of power out of the engines that came through his shop. Mike picked up on all those "old school" tricks from spending hours and hours in his dad's shop as a child and teenager. He built a personal shop and raced with NMRA across the nation, building his own engines, and engines for his friends. His competitive ability was rewarded with more and more friends and clients knocking down his door for his power plants. Eventually allowing him to leave a job of 21 years to pursue his passion!
