One of the things I am most proud of over the course of my career at Johns Hopkins is the advances we have made here in the surgical treatment of pancreatic cancer. A surgical division focused on pancreatic and hepatobiliary procedures will give our patients the best possible experience. She was faced with inoperable cancer and her first meeting with her doctor, she told her that there was no hope. It was literally her 40th birthday. Filled with rage, she fired her first doctor and found someone who believed in "fighting". It was at that moment she became a warrior.
