The way we term things in this day in age can create barriers. The term hard work is one of those terms.
This talk explores the idea of how hard work can be broken down and more importantly be rewritten to be something positive.
With the end of the year fast approaching we are all looking back and forward. Everyone is reviewing goals and setting new ones.
The question is have you finished the ones you were working on, or did you smash everything. Whatever the process is for you this talk explores being kind to yourself through it all.

The education system in various countries is struggling and in some cases not fit for purpose.
What can we do?
Is mentoring the answer? Is more school the answer?
In this one we speak with one of the most intelligent and dedicated minds in the industry. My very own family Amit Sharma. Amit has been involved in high level management for over a decade and has a very honest approach to young people.
As well as being a father Amit is the perfect person to help us out with topic. This was such a privilage to be allowed to share this time with family.

If you believe in mental health or you don't. There is always a cost. Even if you don't want to consider it there is a financial cost to solving mental health issues.
Our damaged children are the pipeline for many years from now. This talk explores the financial implication of not treating childrens mental health.
Brutal but some people need to hear this.

Much of what we expirence in life is born from our childhood.
Be it good or bad.
In todays world of abuse, war and neglect there is a generation of broken children that are going to be broken adults. As much as we want to avoid these conversations they need to be had. Who else better than world class expert Farzana Hirji Karawalli who works in this area.
A regular to the podcast this was a powerful conversation that really took some difficult turns.

A fish in a fish tank will remain a fish. A fish in a shark tank will turn into a shark.
It was this phrase that broke the internet. What is this really about? Exposure to growth and resiliance.
In this talk we look at allowing ourself to go into a tough situation and also looking at what you can take from one.

Recently I was asked to talk at The Leicester Business Festival. Thank you.
This one was about workplace clutures and in particular the nature of toxic environments. Many of us sadly are in middle of toxic workplaces day in and day out.
The talk looks at what we can do about this and how as employees we can better spot the signs. It also looks at how despite the toxic nature of some managers, we can help them out.
Huge thanks to everyone at Leicester Business Festival.

Anything you do in life needs support. The greatest ventures and the hardest projects need support.
As much as many of us like to think we can do things on our own we can't. This talk explores the role other people play in our life. Looking more at the sacrifice they have to make and what it costs both sides.
Are you respectful of what other people do for you?

For years I have struggled before every class I go to. It's never stopped me from going but it can take up a lot of energy.
This week I struggled before one of my classes so I decided to document it in the hope that it helps. I know for sure there are so many people out there that have panic attacks and anxiety before events.
Not always classes but for some people just going out the the house can be a problem. Hopefully this will help and remember you are not alone.

We have another takeover. This time from my very close friend and hall of famer Adisa Banjoko.

The idea expanding your mind has been around for thousands of years. This is not a new concept.
What does it really mean?
Neuroplasticity is the ability to really use brain as a muscle and all the things that come with that. In this talk we look at the side of your brain that takes care of habbit. Good and bad.
How these little fibres are in embedded in the brain from childhood and how we can use them to help us.

This is a special one. I was asked to do a talk for a mens self help group run by my very close friend Adisa Banjoko.
The topic was about empowering the inner voice if your children but from the aspect of fatherhood. What can we as men do to help our children feel more confident.
The focus was on the language we use as fathers and men. How we speak to our children and engage them.
Huge thanks to Adisa and everyone at Red Tent Doulas for letting me speak. It was a huge privillage.

The idea of validation is has been thurst into the limelight due to social media. The fact is it's been around way longer than that.
Since the dawn of human existance we have been searching for validation. Why? From who?
This talk explores the need for validation, why we need it so badly and also the dangers of getting it from people who shouldn't really be giving it.

From the dawn of time we have all been tested in one form or another. For the cave people it meant passing a test that ensured your survival. The modern age brings us exams. A lot of exams.
In the modern school age we are tested from the age of 6 upwards. Some would say this is too much for children to endure. In later life we have to take exams that mean we will or will not get the career we really want.
Even in working life we get exams that mean we will or we will not get the promotion we want.
You can't avoid it.
This talk explores exams and the stress behind them. How to deal with that stress, how to change your view point on that stress. It also looks at what happens when you don't get the results you want.

In the UK we are currently butting heads when it comes to wages.
We have so many people on strike at the moment and for good reason. The disruption caused is making life harder than it should be. This is the other side of the argument.
On this talk we have consider both sides.
Are you in favour of strike action because people are not paid enough. Or do you think people should get on with it because there is no money to give out anyway.
Have a think. Get in touch and let me know what you think.

In modern conversation interupting someone can be one of the worst traits. Lets face it we all know someone who when we try to speak they just cut accross us and end the conversation.
We feel like we are getting shut down. So then why do we do it to children?

I talk about my personal interactions with the police and also how I feel racism and sexim has crept in to a level where it is now dangerours.

The art of being able to ask a good question is indeed that, an art. In soceity now do we really get the answers we want when we speak to people? Is this because they don't understand the question, or are we asking it right? This talk explores the bext way to question and some of the things that have worked for me over the years. Try it see what happens.

New year new me really is a thing. Why should it be?
This talk explores the idea that we should not be setting resolutions, we should be carrying on with the good work we are already doing. In some cases new goals are needed but do we really need them if the old ones are not done?
Get involved and let me know what you think.
@notepad_Wisdom
The art of BJJ is not just two people ripping each other up. Well sometimes it is. There is another side to it that is less explored.
If you need to go deeper you need the staff to help. I bring in one of the most well known grapplers the UK has ever seen. Dan Strauss.
Then you combine that with yoga, chess, meditation and philosophy. Our friend of the family Adisa Banjoko.
I promise you this is a podcast that you do not want to miss. We covered it all in one of the most in depth conversations we have ever had. The knowledge level was different and there was a lot of fun to be had too.

So then another takeover. As always you need to hand the podcast over to someone who really knows what they are doing. Bring in a man who I love dearly, have the highest respect for and is the inner circle. Cousin Amit is back to takeover and oh my we had a good time. No stone unturned, nothing left to chance. Can't even begin to express how much fun this was.
@Notepad_Wisdom
You may have heard me say it before but before punching and grappling there was basketball. Basketball saved my life, in a time when I really needed a focus. I have watched this game since 1986 and it is deeply rooted in my heart. So I decided to do a fantasy draft.
Who do you call when such things happen? My two close friends Lee and Jake. Yep we had some controversial and some odd picks with this one. Who had the better team? Listen in and find out.
@notepad_Wisdom
When it gets to the point where you feel like you want to break, looking at the trigger is not always the reason. In my life I have always tried to maintain a certain set of routines that help me to keep stable. These routines ensure that I am looking after the little steps which in turn will mean the big stuff works. In this talk we explore how looking after the little metrics means you give yourself the best chance of looking after the big stuff.

The road to being an F1 driver for any gender has to be one of the hardest paths in sport. It requires a lot of work and a bit of luck along the way. So very rarely do you get a brother and sister combination who are both brilliant behind the wheel. Today we bring you Thomas and Catherine Potter who are on a journey to make the big time. In this episode we share laughs and talk about the harder side of trying to be great. Even at a young age both have had to endure awful abuse while they chase the dream. This was a brilliant conversation. It was an important one that shows the pressure some young people are under.

One of my favourite hobbies is boxing. As well as watching also learning it. I have loved it from an early age. It is a very detailed sport which is much more then hitting people in the face. Having been in the ring a number of times I know how hard it is to survive in there.
Everyone has their favourite boxers and I have mine too. So I asked my close friend previous guest Dave Frater to come back on and list our top 5. Not maybe the best ones but our favourites.
Who did we choose?

Most of us are on a drive to be wealthy. Most of us. You may spend a lot of time and hard work trying to get that point. So then why would you want to give your wealth away?
In this talk we speak about how you can give your wealth away on all levels, not just money but time. How it creates connections in your wider environment and also the idea of being the rich homeless person.
Is that even possible?

My goal to be a black belt in Chu Sai Lei Wing Chun, Judo and BJJ is not an easy target. Why should it be? I have been thinking about this goal for the last few years and how leaks over into my day to day life, my need for validation and also my desire to improve. Am I doing it for the right reasons or am I doing it based on my desperate need to be restless?
In this talk I explore what trying to achieve this target has done for me, is doing for me now and what it may do. This one is deeper than martial arts.

Each one teach one is one of the core Hip Hop philosophies. The ability to be a great teacher in any field also has the power to change lives forever. In this episode I give you a dear friend Dave Frater. A school teacher of over 30 years Dave has seen it all. We talk about how the culture of teaching has evolved, what needs to happen going forward and dogs. Yes dogs. Dave has changed lives over the years and he shares some of those stories in this podcast. Highs and lows. This was another one of the moments when I was reminded of how great my circle of people are.
