Andrew shares his thoughts on Joshua, chapters 3 and 4. He unpacks these narrative passages, about the Crossing of the Jordan and the memorial stones placed there, and what this meant in Joshua's life and ministry.

This week, Steve continues to share his insight from the book of Titus. This week, Steve thinks about verses 10-16, often overlooked verses about the people bringing false teaching into the church. Steve thinks about the tests we are to apply to all teachers who claim to present the Gospel, focusing particularly on the difference between teaching that is influenced by the word, or the world.

This week, Steve introduces our next series, where we will be thinking about the Paul's pastoral letter to Titus in Crete. Steve gives us some valuable background to the letter, helping us to understand why Paul is writing to his friend Titus, and the situation facing the church in first century Crete, a place where the culture of the world was beginning to infect the church, and the problems this was causing for the fledgling Christian community there.

Nigel begins our Advent series, reminding us about why we look forward to Christmas during this time of year. He shares with us about how Jesus birth was not an accident, or an afterthought, but a specific unfolding of God's plan, revealed throughout the Old Testament, which people have looked forward to for generations.

Steve concludes his series on Jonah by thinking about the way Jesus interprets this story in the New Testament, thinking about the Sign of Jonah, and the resurrection of Jesus.

10:00 AM | Steve Doel | Jonah 3 Steve continues his series on Jonah, thinking about chapter 3 of this short book. Steve breaks down this chapter, thinking about Jonah's message to the people of Nineveh, how they responded to the message, and how this applies to us today.
6:30 PM | Mary Edwards | Matthew 5 Mary shares with us about the importance of working for Christ in all aspects of our life. Mary particularly thinks about the way we can proclaim Christ in secular environments, and living for him in the place where he has set us. Mary thinks of the vital work of organisations like CAP, and how together, we reflect the light of Christ in our world and community.
10:00 AM | Steve Doel | Jonah 2 Steve continues his series on the life and ministry of Jonah thinking about chapter 2, and Jonah’s decent, as he seeks to flee from God’s call on his life, and God's raising and restoration of Jonah, as he cries out to God. Steve challenges us to think about things in our lives which are more important to us than God, and to consider what God has called us to do, and the purpose for which God has saved us. Steve reminds us that, even though Jonah attempted to run from God, God was faithful to Jonah, and restored him when he cried out to God.
6:30 PM | Steve Doel | Philippians 3 Our new rector, Steve Doel, preaches on Philippians 3, thinking about belonging, and what it means to be citizens of heaven, people who are ultimately dislocated from our true home, Steve challenges us to live according to this call, and embrace this reality, even as we live and work here in the community where we now live.
10:00 AM | Steve Doel | Jonah 1 APC welcomes our new rector, Steve Doel. For Steve's first Sunday, he begins a series on Jonah 1, thinking about what it means to stand on the threshold of something new, and reminding us where we are going together.
6:30 PM | Andrew Sledge | Ephesians 6 - The Armour of God Andrew concludes our extended series on the armour of God, focusing primarily on verse 18, summarising where we have been, and why we have spent this extended period in this passage.

6:30 PM | Mark Webb | Genesis 37 - Joseph. Aldridge Parish Church welcomes Mark Webb, Pastor of Walsall Independent Evangelical Church (Bath Street). Mark shares on the "Missing Character" left out of our retellings of this familiar story, the "man who changed the world", the unnamed man in verse 14, upon which the rest of the story hangs.

10:00 AM | Matt Emery | Ephesians 6:10-18, "The Armour of God" Matt shares his thoughts on the Armour of God, a familiar, but often overlooked concept in out christian faith, and thinks about the importance of applying this for us as christians living in the world today.
10:00 AM | Nigel Hopley | Matthew 8:18-34 Nigel opens up God's word, sharing his thoughts on these three short passages in Matthew's gospel, the cost of following Christ, the calming of the storm, and the healing of two Demon-Possessed Men in the region of the Gadarenes.
6:30 PM | Rev. Kate Watson | Acts 3:1-10 At this special service, Kate Watson returns to Aldridge Parish, to share her thoughts on Peter's healing of the lame beggar in Acts 3. Kate is a former member of APC, and has recently been ordained to the priesthood, while serving at St Matthew’s Tipton.
10:00 AM | Alan and Gillian Winser - The Lost Sheep
This morning, Alan and Gillian share their thoughts on the familiar parable of the lost sheep. This all-aged service was interactive and fun, and involved everyone.
6:30 PM | Matt Emery — The Parable of the Bags of Gold Matt continues our series on the parables, thinking about the "the parable of the bags of gold" often called the "Parable of the Talents" found in Matthew 25:14-28. Matt thinks about what it means use what God has given to us in the service of his kingdom, setting the parable in its proper context, the end times, remembering that our time is limited.
10:00 AM | David Lee — The Feeding of the 5000 This morning David shares his thoughts on Mark 6, bringing fresh insight into this familiar passage. David thinks about this story from the perspective of the disciples, thinking also about out what we can learn from them as follower of Jesus today.
10:30 AM — Rev. Phillip Swan with Special Guests — International Mission Focus. As part of a Diocese wide focus on mission, "Intentional Discipleship: East meets West", This morning we are delighted to welcome Rev Phillip Swan to preach. Phillip is the Lichfield Diocese Director of World Mission and works in partnership with the Lichfield linked Dioceses. He is accompanied by 2 members from St Matthew's Church who will be telling us about their visit to Malaysia and Indonesia with St Chad's Project.
10:30 AM | Allister du Plessis - The Parable of the Mustard Seed "A Little Can be a Lot with God" Allister continues to think about the Parables of Jesus, sharing his thoughts on the parable of the mustard seed. Allister reminds us that with God, a little can be used to do a lot.
After Allister's talk, we also received a short update on the vital work of the Leprosy Mission from Robert Harding. Robert shared about his experience working with people suffering from this disease, and the vital, life transforming work that TLM are involved in. This morning, Mary Edwards shares a message with the church on the immense value of the kingdom of God, and the importance of keeping Christ, and his kingdom central. The message shares some deep insight on two short parables, Matthew 13:45-46 — The "Pearl of Great Price" and Luke 15:8-10 — The "Lost Coin".

During this evening service, Andrew opens up the familiar passage of The Prodigal Son (also know as The Lost Son), bringing fresh insight into this well known parable, and reminding us about the relationship our loving father, God, has with us, his children.

This episode, David shares some insight into the popular and well known story of Zacchaeus, and its application to the lives of 21st century believers.
