Tune in and learn more from Dr. Isabelle Amigues and the importance of connection for health.
Isabelle Amigues, MD, is a physician scientist specialized in rheumatology. She has trained both in France as well as Columbia University, in New York City. She is established in Denver, CO where she sees her patients. She is the author of multiple book chapters in the medical field and scientific articles. She was on the path of becoming a full time researcher when, at 40, in the midst of an existential crisis, she was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic breast cancer. A timely meeting with a non-traditionally trained practitioner taught her a different approach to disease. She experienced the power of meditation, visualization, energy healing and love. Her journey through cancer inspired her to learn more about these alternative approaches, and now that she has studied many of them, she has integrated them into her own practice of medicine. She is the co-creator of a community meeting called coExistence where inspiring speakers share their wisdom to improve people’s lives.
She has her own podcast called UnabridgedMD. Her website is www.UnabridgedMD.com She can be found on Twitter at @unabridgedMD or Facebook at UnabridgedMD.

Fitness as a solution to chronic disease, favorite races, all things osteopathic medicine- this was a great conversation with Janeeka Benoit, D.O.!
Dr. Janeeka Benoit better known as Dr. J on social media is a Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician and Sports Medicine Specialist. She is a runner, exercise enthusiast, and former ACE Certified personal trainer. Not only does she enjoy caring for athletes, she also has a passion for preventing chronic disease through using exercise as medicine so people can avoid taking pills and/or cut back on their pill bottles. As an osteopathic physician, Dr. J is focused on treating the whole body by providing practical ways to exercise so people can live more fully and have life transformation from the inside, out.
Unique Story: It was during my second year of residency that I felt very similarly to my patients after a long stressful clinic day. They were overwhelmed from taking too many pills, some did not know why they were even taking them, and did not feel in control of their health. I felt overwhelmed from prescribing and re-filling their pills, did not know what my true purpose was as a physician, and did not feel in control of the trajectory of my career. I used exercise as a means to an end and it taught me the importance of developing habit.
Unique Message: We are what we repeatedly do and you have the choice to affirm who you are by what you do consistently. What are you exercising consistently? What are your habits?
Key Points: Exercising consistently requires: 1. Healthy Mindset 2. Affirming New Beliefs (about yourself and exercise) 3. Incorporating Change (in your schedule for example)
