I discuss the unfortunate pressure some cultures, particularly the Nigerian culture has regarding marriage as well as the trickle-down effects. I discuss why it is imperative that we all take time to heal from our emptiness, brokenness and loneliness before adding someone else into our lives. This is especially most imperative if children are to be had so that they are sure to be raised in households that only exude love.
Mental health is something that everyone battles with at some point in our being or even continuously. Loneliness and depression are not ailments to be ashamed of. There is help! It is not only impractical to assume that someone else in our lives will be the solution to fill our void, it is also very selfish and inconsiderate.
Join me as I unpack why we must collectively fight this societal pressure, fight against patriarchy, unlearn archaic cultures that don’t serve us, heal from within and learn to love ourselves unconditionally. Only then will be find unconditional love from others.

Buddhism is a philosophy and religion that originated inancient India over 2,500 years ago. The Buddha, also known as SiddharthaGautama, was a spiritual teacher who discovered the path to enlightenmentthrough deep meditation and insight. Today, Buddhism is practiced by millionsof people around the world and is known for its emphasis on wisdom, compassion,and mindfulness.
Meditation is a key component of Buddhist practice, and itinvolves cultivating awareness and focus through various techniques such asbreath awareness, loving-kindness meditation, and body scan meditation. Throughregular meditation practice, one can develop a deeper understanding of the mindand cultivate inner peace and calm.
Mindfulness is another important aspect of Buddhistteachings, which involves being present and aware of one's thoughts, feelings,and surroundings. It is about cultivating a non-judgmental awareness of thepresent moment and developing a deeper understanding of our inner workings.

They say money does not buy happiness. So what does?
To me, happiness is looking deep within, embracing one's individuality and uniqueness, and projecting it into the world. Happiness is knowing that you are enough and never need to get any form of approval from a second or third party in spite of every pressure to conform to narratives that dims that individuality. This is a mentality I developed as young as 9 years old, and I challenge everyone to consider it.
