Cancer developing from the inner lining of the womb (endometrium) is known as endometrial cancer. There are several factors that influence the risk of developing endometrial cancer. Remember although some factors may increase your risk, they do not always cause cancer. Some women with endometrial cancer may not have any risk factors.

Menopause is that threshold in every woman’s life when her menstrual cycles stop and her ovaries lose their reproductive capability. The condition is brought about by hormonal changes. During her fertile years, a woman produces an egg each month due to the release of three reproductive hormones called oestradiol, oestrone, and oestriol. Collectively these hormones are simply known as oestrogen.
