Hit Man is a 2023 Romantic Comedy directed by Richard Linklater, who co-wrote the screenplay with Glen Powell. Richard Linklater directed Dazed and Confused but also the Before romance trilogy, Before Sunset, Before Midnight, Before Sunrise.
Hit Man is the story of Gary Johnson played by Glen Powell, a mild mannered professor of psychology and philosophy at the University of New Orleans. Gary also works for the NOPD as a civilian, administering the recording tech for undercover sting operations… when the undercover detective Jasper is pulled off duty, Gary is forced into a series of gambits where he needs to PRETEND to be a Hit Man in order to incriminate suspects in murder for hire schemes… along the way he meets Madison played by Adria Arjona and his role as a fake hit man takes a turn as Gary develops feelings for Madison.

Step Brothers is a 2008 American comedy film directed by Adam McKay, produced by Jimmy Miller and Judd Apatow, and written by Will Ferrell and McKay. This is the story of Brennan Huff played by Will Ferrell, and it’s the story of Dale Doback played by John C Reilly. Brennan and Dale come together as Step Brothers when they’re parents end up falling in love, getting married, and moving in together. Brennan and Dale are unique in that they are in their 40s, they both still live at home, with their parents, Nancy and Robert played by Mary Steenburgen and Richard Jenkins… they are the definition of man children, and all of the chaos in the world erupts… when these two step brothers are forced to live together. There are also supporting performances in this movie by Adam Scott, Kathryn Hahn, and Rob Riggle.

Aloha is a 2015 rom com directed by Cameron Crowe… this is the story of military contractor Brian Gilcrest played by Bradley Cooper. After a freak accident in Afghanistan Brian nabs a job with former employer Carson Welch played by Bill Murray and accompanies him on a land deal to launch a satellite from Hawaii. Brian has some history here… in ex Tracy played by Rachel McAdams, her now husband Woody played by John Krasinski, his former military companions ‘Fingers’ played by Danny McBride, General Dixon played by Alex Baldwin. Through his time in Hawaii working for Carson Welch alongside the military he is also shadowed by Allison Ng played by Emma Stone. Brian has to contend with his past, reconcile with some of the mistakes he’s made… and perhaps… find some love along the way…

Rumor Has It is a 2005 Romantic Comedy directed by the iconic Rob Reiner. This is the story of Sarah Huttinger, played by Jennifer Anniston, a writer for the New York Times who travels home to Pasadena, California for her sisters wedding. She travels back with her lawyer fiance Jeff Daly played by Mark Ruffalo. It’s a theme early that Sarah doesn’t necessarily feel like she fits in her family, she’s very different from her father Early played by Richard Jenkins, and she learns at the wedding from her grandmother Katharine played by Shirley MacLaine that maybe… her mother had an affair around the time she was born… so Sarah sets off on a journey to find her maybe father.. Beau Burroughs played by Kevin Costner…

Eat Pray Love, is a 2010 biographical romantic drama. Based on Elizabeth Gilbert’s 2006 memoir of the same name. Eat Pray Love is the story of Liz, played by Julia Roberts. Liz seems to have it all. After a snap divorce and a quick affair with a young actor - David played by James Franco, Liz decides to embark on a transformative journey to Italy, India and Bali, in an effort to seek self discovery.

Puppy Love is a 2023 Romantic Comedy directed by Nick Fabiano and Richard Alan Reid. This is the story of Max Stevenson played by Grant Gustin. An introvert he suffers from massive social anxiety in a post Covid world. To combat his anxiety, Max ends up adopting a dog, a King Charles Spaniel named Chloe. Around this time he jumps on a dating app and ends up on a date with Nicole Matthews, played by Lucy Hale. Nicole has also just adopted a dog, named Channing Tatum. Even though Nicole and Max don’t immediately hit it off… their dogs do… Channing gets Chloe pregnant and it forces Max and Nicole to stay in each others lives… and even maybe… kindle some flames in their relationship.

Couples Retreat is a 2009 Romantic Comedy directed by Peter Billingsly. This is the story of Dave played by Vince Vaughn and his wife Ronnie played by Malin Akerman. Dave and Ronnie are a typical married couple raising two young boys in the suburbs of Chicago, kinda in the whirlwind of parenthood and life. They have a few friends, Joey and Lucy played by Jon Favreau and Kristin Davis who have actually already agreed to separate… just… nobody knows that yet. Shane and Trudy played by Faizon Love and Kali Hawk who are polar opposites, Shane is in his 40’s, Trudy is 20… that’s basically all you need to know, and then there’s Jason and Cynthia Smith played by Jason Bateman and Kristen Bell. Jason and Cynthia have been struggling with infertility and because of that, their marriage has been struggling and with that… they have convinced the entire friend group to take a couples retreat to the island of Eden to rediscover themselves… and their marriages.

The Fall Guy Is a 2024 Action Romantic Comedy directed by David Leitch. This is the story of Colt Seavers, played by Ryan Gosling. Colt is a Hollywood stuntman for A-list actor Tom Ryder played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Colt ends up in a romantic relationship with a camera operator on the set of Tom’s movies, Jodie played by Emily Blunt however, after a freak stunt accident gone wrong on the set of said movie Colt spirals into a pit of self doubt, he leaves his old world of stunt acting behind him… until he is thrust back into this world, when Tom Ryder goes missing on the set of a movie that Jodie is now directing.

The Idea of You is a 2024 Romantic Comedy directed by Micharl Showalter based on the novel Robinne Lee. This is the story of Solene, played by Anne Hathaway, a divorced art gallery owner living in Los Angeles. Solene ends up going to Coachella with her daughter and her daughters friends where they have a meet and greet with pop boy band August Moon. There, Solene meets Hayes Campbell played by Nicholas Galitzine, Hayes is a member of August Moon. Hayes and Solene end up hitting it off however, they are challenged by the fact that Hayes is much younger, in an internationally successful boy band, Solene has an ex husband, and a teenage daughter, it causes some conflict.

The Lake House is a 2006 fantasy romance directed by Alejandro Agresti. It’s based off a South Korean film. The Lake House is the story of Kate Forster played by Sandra Bullock. Kate is a physician living in Chicago and she starts a new job at a downtown hospital. She moved from a really unique lake house outside the city and she leaves a note for the next tenant to let them know a few quirks of the house. On Valentine’s Day the new tenant of the house Alex, played by Keanu Reeves arrives, discovers the letter and also discovers some discrepancies with the note. As Alex writes back to Kate we realize that they are communicating through time. Alex is living in 2004, 2 years to the date before Kate, and through the mailbox at the lake house they can actually communicate… and perhaps… fall in love?

Meet the Fockers is a 2004 romantic comedy directed by Jay Roach, Jay also directed the original Meet the Parents, as well as Dinner for Schmucks, The Austin Powers series. Meet the Fockers is the sequel to Meet the Parents, we have Greg or ‘Gaylord’ Focker played by Ben Stiller. Greg is engaged to Pam Byrnes played by Teri Polo, the contents of the first film was Greg meeting Pam’s parents Jack Byrnes played by Robert De Niro and Dina played by Blythe Danner. The short of that story is that Jack is a retired CIA agent and did everything he could do disrupt, undermine and ultimately break up Greg and Pam before finally agreeing that Greg was indeed a good guy and a good match. In Meet the Fockers, this story in some ways repeats with Jack and Dina meeting Greg’s parents Bernie and Roz played by Dustin Hoffman and Barabara Streisand.

The 2024 Mean Girls Musical directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr. from the screenplay by Tina Fey. This is based on the Mean Girls stage musical, which is based on a 2003 movie WHICH is based on the 2002 book Queen Bees and Wannabes. Mean Girls the musical follows the story of Cady Herron played by Angourie Rice who movies from being homeschooled in Kenya to high school in the United States. Cady has to do a lot of catching up on high school and is quickly befriended by Janis and Damien played by Auli’i Cravalho and Jaquel Spivey. Cady also quickly becomes friends with the highschool Mean Girls, the plastics, Regina George played by Renee Rapp, Karen Shetty played by Avantika and Gretchen Wieners played by Bebe Wood.

Monster In Law is a 2005 romantic comedy directed by Robert Luketic, he also directed Legally Blonde, Killers and Paranoia. This is the story of Charlie, a temp, dog walker, yoga instructor searching for love, she is played by Jennifer Lopez. On the beach in California she meets doctor Kevin Fields played by Michael Vartan, they immediately hit it off, love at first sight kind of stuff and eventually Kevin brings Charlie to meet his mother Viola played by Jane Fonda. Viola is a recently retired T.V show host who is perhaps slightly neurotic, very type A and can only accept the absolute best for her son Kevin… of which, she believes Charlie is not… however when Kevin immediately proposed to Charlie, it sets off a massive conflict between Charlie and Viola… that is your lead in for Monster In Law.

Horrible Bosses is a 2011 dark comedy directed by Seth Gordon. This is the story of 3 friends, Nick, Dale and Kurt, played by Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudekis. All 3 of these friends in some way have a boss they despise. Nick’s boss Dave played by Kevin Spacey is a gaslighting, manipulating, corporate overlord type. Kurt’s boss Bobby, played by Folin Farrell is a weaselly incompetent drug fueled jerk. Dale’s boss Julia, played by Jennifer Anniston is sexually aggressive towards him. They all end up scheming and coming up with a plan to kill… each other’s bosses, based on some advice from Jamie Foxx’s character Dean Jones.

Pride and Prejudice (2005), we did the 2005 romantic drama film Directed by Joe Wright. Joe also directed Hanna, Peter Pan, Darkest Hour, Atonement. This is based of the 1813 Jane Austen novel of the same name. Pride and Prejudice is the story of Elizabeth Bennet, played by Kiera Knightly. Elizabeth lives with her 4 sisters at a rural English estate. Her sisters consist of, Jane played by Rosamund Pike, Lydia played by Jena Malone, Kitty played by Carey Mulligan, and Mary played by Talulah Riley. Her father is Mr Bennet played by Donald Sutherland and her mother Mrs Bennet is played by Brenda Blethlyn. These girls are all single and all pining for their chance at love. This comes to a head as the eligible bachelor Mr Bingley played by Simon Woods arrives in town at a ball along with his relative and another eligible bachelor Mr Darcy played by Matthew Macfadyen and his sister Caroline Bingley played by Kelly Reilly. This launches a runaway train of love, loss, heartbreak, heartache… and the story of… Pride and Prejudice.

Crossroads is the story of Lucy, played by Britney Spears, Mimi played by Taryn Manning and Kit played by Zoe Saldana. Lucy, Mimi and Kit were childhood best friends but grew apart as they entered highschool. Now as seniors, Mimi pulls the trio back together to recover a wish box from their childhood… they all agree to join Mimi on a trip to Los Angeles. Mimi is traveling to LA for a singing audition, she also happens to be 5 months pregnant, Kit is going to see her boyfriend at UCLA and Lucy is looking for her estranged mother in Arizona along the way. Players is a 2024 Romantic Comedy directed by Trish Sie, Trish is best known for directing Step Up: All In and Pitch Perfect 3. This is the story of Mackenzie, Mack, played by Gina Rodriguez. Mack is a New York City sports beat writer, her real calling card is that her and her friends have elaborate, and strange ways they scheme to hook up with people. Co-Worker Adam played by Daman Wayans JR, other co-worker Brannagan played by Augustus Prew and HIS younger brother Little played by Joel Courtney make up the group. This group and Mack are thrown into Flux however when Pulitzer Prize nominated author Nick played by Tom Ellis arrives at their office and Mack is IMMEDIATELY enthralled… and NEEDs to be with him… thus, they come up with another elaborate scheme, a ‘play’ for Mack to nab Nick.

This is the story of Lucy Kelson played by Sandra Bullock. Lucy is a lawyer in New York City who has a strong moral compass regarding environmental law, historic preservation and pro bono causes. George Wade is played by Hugh Grant and he is your billionaire real estate developer, charming womanizing playboy and his business is in an ongoing clash with Lucy over the destruction of the Coney Island Community Center. George Wade however is in need of a Chief Counsel and finds that Lucy, along with being an extremely talented lawyer is fantastic at making decisions for him. Leslie is a New Jersey Nets SUPER FAN and she attends a lot of their games with her best friend Morgan played by Paula Patton. Morgan has dreams and aspirations of dating an NBA player, that is her full focus… trying to get into parties with players, meet players, see the players, well it turns out Leslie meets the star player of the Nets Scott McKnight played by Common at a gas station and he invites her to his birthday party. Fools Gold is a 2008 Romantic Action Comedy directed by the great Andy Tennant. It actually reunited the trio of Andy Tennant, Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Fool’s Gold is the story of Finn played by McConaughey. Fin is a very unsuccessful treasure hunter, he is searching for the Spanish galleon the Aurelia which is supposed to have sunk near an island close to Key West. Fin ends up getting into trouble with a creditor Bigg Bunny played by Kevin Hart but Fin ultimately finds help in the form of his ex wife Tess played by Kate Hudson, who was the original person who discovered the general whereabouts of this lost treasure with him. Finn, Tess, Tess’s boss Nigel played by Donald Sutherland, and his daughter Gemma played by Alexis Dziena embark on this grand adventure to find the treasure.

Love At First Sight is a 2023 Netflix Romantic Comedy film directed by Vanessa Caswill based on the 2011 novel The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight. This is the story of Hadley Sullivan played by Haley Lu Richardson. Hadley never has a charged phone and is chronically late, evidenced by the fact that when we meet her, she is in the process of missing her flight to London to attend her father’s wedding. This is also the story of Oliver Jones played by Ben Hardy, Oliver is a British Yale student who is obsessed with statistics, hates surprises and typically keeps a very charged phone… this is how our love interests meet, at an airport, exchanging phone charges on the way to London.

The Princess Diaries is a 2001 coming of age Romantic Comedy directed by Garry Marshall. This is the story of Mia Thermopolis played by Anne Hathaway. Mia is a highschool student in San Francisco, definitely not super cool she only has two friends Lilly played by Heather Matarazzo and her older brother Michael played by Robert Schwartzman. There is something Mia does not know however and we learn very quickly, technically she is the princess of the country of Genovia. This film also features Mandy Moore as the classic highschool villain Lana. Mia has a grandmother the Queen Regent of Genovia played by the great Julie Andrews. And a point of fact regarding how big of a smash hit this film was. This grossed 165 million dollars at the box office on a budget of around 26.

After an outburst by Kevin he is sent to the attic to sleep the night, but the following morning both families forget about Kevin as they travel to the airport and they leave Kevin at home as the travel to Paris… hence… Kevin McCalister IS, Home Alone… this story also stars Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern as the Wet Bandits. Family Switch is a 2023 Netflix Family Comedy directed by McG. He is also responsible for This Means War and The Babysitter. Family Switch is the story of Jess and Bill Walker, played by Jennifer Garner and Ed Helms. The Walker family is a little bit out of sorts, they have three children, MAINLY CeeCee and Wyatt played by Emma Meyers and Brady Noon, both in high school. They have a third child who is just a baby, that is Miles. They are just a family that feels very disconnected and isolated from each other, they all have their own priorities that in their own minds supersedes everyone else in the family and all of this comes to a head after a Christmas excursion to Griffith Observatory, when during a rare planetary alignment event, while the whole family is bickering how everyone else lives are SO EASY… we end up with a body swap story. Jess and CeeCee wake up in each others bodies. Bill and Wyatt end up in each others… the baby Miles swaps with the dog Pickles. This is your lead in for Family Switch.

While You Were Sleeping is a 1995 Romantic Comedy directed by Jon Turteltaub. This is the story of Lucy Moderatz played by Sandra Bullock. Lucy is a very lonely train fair token collector in Chicago. She daydreams of a more exciting life and secretly loves Peter Callaghan, a handsome commuter played by Peter Gallagher, whom she has never actually spoken to. On Christmas day Peter falls onto the train tracks and Lucy rescues him, and after a wild miscommunication at the hospital Peter’s family believes that Lucy is his fiance… all this occurring, while Peter is in a coma. The Other Zoe is a 2023 Romantic Comedy on Amazon Prime, directed by Sarah Zandieh. This is the story of Zoe Miller played by Josephine Langford. Zoey is a computer major junior at Queen’s College… she is extremely intelligent in the field of programming and is trying to launch her dating app that specializes on matching people based on algorithms and shared interests and compatibility. Zoey however ends up in a classic, mistaken identity, amnesia love triangle with star soccer stud Zach McLaren played by Drew Starkey. Zach believes that he is dating this Zoey… because of a strange accident, instead there is another Zoey out there on vacation who he is actually dating… hence, the other Zoey. Shoutout to Miles who is our other love interest played by Archie Renaux.

17 Again is a 2009 American teen fantasy romantic comedy film directed by Burr Steers.
This is the story of Mike O Donnell played by Matthew Perry and Zac Efron… this is a CLASSIC body swap movie… time swap movie…
Mike O Donnell (Zac Efron) was the high school all star basketball jock, he had aspirations of playing college basketball until his girlfriend Scarlet became pregnant. That occurred back in 1989, now in present day Mike O’Donnell (Matthew Perry) is struggling with his career, cannot connect with his kids Alex played by Sterling Knight or Maggie played by Michelle Trachtenberg, and he has a failing marriage with Scarlet played by Leslie Mann. All of this comes to a head as Mike finds himself back at his old high school and after meeting a sage janitor his body is swapped back to his high school self (Zac Efron) so he can relive his high school days alongside his actual children who attend the same school.
This film grossed 139 million dollars on a 40 million dollar budget.

You Again is a 2010 romantic comedy directed by Andy Fickman. This is the story of Marni Olsen played by Kristen Bell. Marni was tormented and bullied in highschool however at the time of our film is now a successful public relations executive in Los Angeles and was just promoted to a management job in New York. However, Marni returns back to her small town of Ridgefield to celebrate her brother, Will, played by James Wolk, wedding. As it turns out, Will is marrying Marni’s highschool bull Joanna or JJ played by Odette Yustman. The awkwardness is amped up when JJ’s aunt Ramona visits, played by Sigourney Weaver and SHE also has bad history with Marni’s mom Gail played by Jamie Lee Curtis… two generations of women… hating each other.

We also meet The Cullen’s. They are a group of kids adopted by Carlisle Cullen the town physician. Carlisle is played by Peter Facinelli, Esme Cullen played by Elizabeth Reaser… and their adopted children. Alice played by Ashley Greene, Jasper played by Jackson Rathbone, Rasalie played by Nikki Reed, Emmett played by Kellan Lutz and finally Edward Cullen played by Robert Pattinson… it is in Edward that Bella discovers something strange and unusual about the Cullen’s. After Andrew proposes to Melanie though, we learn that she has not gone back to her hometown in Alabama in 7 years, and now that she is engaged, she needs to make her way back to Pidgeon Creek to tie up some loose ends.

She also meets the ‘plastics’ or the MEAN GIRLS, Regina George, Karen Smith and Gretchen Wieners, played by Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert respectively.
Really this movie is just the story of Cady navigating through having no experience with North American highschool and being THRUST into a friendship with Regina George… and all the comedy that comes with that.

Debbie and Peter have history, they hooked up this one time BUT ever since have just been best of friends, even when they both live across the country from each other. Our story takes a turn when Debbie is SUPPOSED to travel to New York City to hang with Peter and complete her schooling, her baby sitter falls through. To make sure she can finish the education she needs, PETER swaps places, flies back to LA to babysit Jack.

We meet Tom’s mom Carol played by Jennifer Coolidge, Darcy’s parents Renata and Robert played by Sonia Braga and Cheech Marin. All is going kind of well, in that special way rehearsal dinners are kind of hectic. Darcy’s ex Sean played by Lenny Kravitz shows up out of the blue to cause some drama. But the real conflict in this story is the following day, the day of the wedding, pirates crash the island, try to take everyone captive and ransom Darcy and her father for a cash payout… yeah… that is your lead in for Shotgun Wedding.

It’s setup as a grandfather reading a tale to his sick grandson. Peter Falk played the grandfather, Fred Savage the grandson. Paige and Leo are married and spoiler alert, shortly after we meet them, there is a car crash, by which Paige loses her memory… she loses her memory of who Leo is, their marriage, their life together, their apartment, it’s all gone. When these films are released, we will take the Rotten Tomatoes critic score, audience score and that is the overall score of said film. Whoever has the higher scoring team of Romantic Comedies at the end of the year wins.

His daughter Cristina does an Instagram video singing along to Angelina played by Aimee Garcia, she’s a pop music mega star who has maybe turned a corner on her career, on the down swing a little bit, living off the former hits and glory days. Think of a Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry, maybe even a J-Lo kind of vibe. Angelina is on the verge of getting dropped by her label, she needs a new song, a new hit, a new something and after witnessing this video from Cristina, Angelina decides to go and visit her young fan for the holidays. This is where she meets Miguel, realizes he actually quietly writes songs and might have a hit on his hands. That is your lead in for Christmas With You.

He is bringing his girlfriend Meredith played by Sarah Jessica Parker to meet his family for the holidays. The Stone family is BIG, and tight nit, and very outspoken. Sybil Stone is the matriarch of the family, that’s Diane Keaton. We have Craig T Nelson playing the father Kelly Stone. Ben Stone is Everett’s younger brother he is played by Luke Wilson. Sussanah Stone and Amy Stone are the two sisters, they are played by Elizabeth Reaser and Rachel McAdams. The youngest brother of the family is Thad Stone, played by Tyrone Giordano, he is also deaf and gay. His partner is Patrick Thomas played by Brian J White, and another key character is Claire Danes, playing Meredith’s sister Julie.
Basically it’s Everett bringing Meredith to meet his family, not all goes to plan and love is found in the most unexpected of places. There’s also a really intense underlying family connectedness storyline.

Enchanted is a 2007 musical fantasy romantic comedy Directed by Kevin Lima, the PERFECT person to direct this, as he is responsible for a lot of Disney’s animated hits… The Goofy Movie, 101 Dalmatians, Tarzan, he was a writer for Aladdin, a character designer on the Little Mermaid, Visual Director on Beauty and the Beast; this guy knows Disney Fairytales.
Enchanted begins as an animated story, we meet Giselle, your classic Disney Princess. Giselle lives in the woods with all of her favourite adorable woodland creatures, she is played by Amy Adams.
Then we meet Edward, THE PRINCE, played by James Marsden. Edward is seen capturing a troll when he HEARS the beautiful singing of Giselle, he tromps through the forest and finds her, they complete each others songs and immediately fall in love, to be wed the very next day.
Edwards mother in law doesn’t want Edward to marry because she will no longer be queen. This is Queen Narissa played by Susan Sarandon, so SHE hatches a plan to teleport Giselle to a place where love doesn’t exist. Giselle goes from being animated in a Disney fairytale to being a real life, live action human in New York City.
Eventually she will also meet Robert Philip played by Patrick Dempsey and Morgan Philip his daughter and Nancy Tremaine played by Idina Menzel.

This is the story of Carly Whitten played by Cameron Diaz. She is a New York City Attorney and JUST started dating Mark King, played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister from Game of Thrones).
Here’s the thing about our boy Mark, we learn quickly that Carly is NOT the only person he is dating… naw… he actually already has a WIFE, Kate played by Leslie Mann, and perhaps many OTHER mistresses like Amber played by Kate Upton.
So Carly and Kate learn about each other and ultimately decide that Mark deserves payback. It’s essentially the grown up version of John Tucker Must Die. That’s your lead in for The Other Woman. A heads up, this movie got a LITTLE bit of flack critically however it KILLED it at the box office, 196.7 million dollars on a 40 million budget.

Dan has fallen on tough times, he hasn’t booked a successful artist on his record label in years, he is no longer living with his wife Miriam played by Catherine Keener, he has a strained relationship with his daughter Violet played by Hailee Steinfield, we believe Dan might also be abusing alcohol… so… it’s not going well, until at a dingy bar he hears this beautiful song, being performed by Gretta James played by Keira Knightly… it’s hauntingly beautiful and Dan decides THIS is what he’s been looking for, he’s going to make a record with Gretta…

It’s a VERY similar premise to Sliding Doors… 1998… Gwenyth Paltrow if you’re familiar?
This is the story of Natalie Benett played by Lili Reinhart from Riverdale. Life brings all of us, singular moments that can change the entire trajectory of our existence. This film is really a tale of one of these moments, Natalie Benett is a University Senior, has one fantastic night hooking up with her best friend Gabe played by Danny Ramirez… and then we are at a crossroads. There is one version of reality where Natalie gets pregnant after that fateful night… her and Gabe must move back to her hometown, in with her parents and PARENT this new child… another version of reality is Natalie moving off to Los Angeles to become an aspiring animator under Lucy Galloway, played by Nia Long. She also moves their with her other friend Cara played by Aisha Dee and meets love interest Jake played by David Corenswet.
We see both of these parallel universes play out almost side by side over the next 5 years… with her entire life diverging at this point… how differently will her life end up.

This is the story of Gray Wheeler played by Jennifer Garner. When we meet Gray, it is the day of her wedding, except Gray is NOT getting married to her fiancee Grady on this day. Today is now the day of HIS funeral. We don’t know what happened except that shortly before the wedding, Grady suddenly passed away and we are left with Gray trying to pick up the pieces. She is comforted by Grady’s friend Sam played by Kevin Smith. His friend and business partner Dennis played by Sam Jaeger. And Fritz, Grady’s old friend who now lives in California… Fritz is played by Timothy Olyphant.
As we learn more of Grady and his sudden passing Gray begins to unravel a mystery around his life. Stories of large investment accounts, people being paid out money, all the while Fritz being a little TOO involved and not IMMEDIATELY returning to California… for some reason… we have yet to find out…

Employee of the Month is a 2006 Rom Com directed by Greg Coolidge. It’s the story of Zack Bradley played by Dane Cook. Zack works at a ‘Super Club’ which is basically just a Costco, he is your classic, bottom of the barrel slacker, he’s a box boy, spends most of his work days finding ways not to work and even has a hideout in the store with his 3 friends Iqbal, Dirk and Russell.
This tradition of overall apathy towards work changes when a new cashier Amy joins the team, played by Jessica Simpson. Here’s the catch, in her employee file, it says that Amy only ever goes for the Employee of the Month, and at this Super Club, for the past 17 months that has been Vince’s crown, played by Dax Shepard. Vince is your quintessential, easily dislikable d-bag, over confident, kinda weird bad guy of the movie.
And that’s kind of the story, Zack choosing to actually APPLY himself at work to win employee of the month and Amy’s heart, Vince being the ultimate antagonist to stop that from happening.

The Switch is the story of Kassie Larson played by Jennifer Anniston. She is the eternal optimist, her life is going PRETTY well, BUT, there is one thing missing, motherhood, she wants SO BADLY to have a baby, however Mr. Right has yet to come along.
We also have Wally Mars played by Jason Bateman. He is Kassie’s best friends, heads up, they also dated about 6 years ago. Wally is fairly pessimistic, kinda neurotic, he has some hard edges as they describe later in the movie.
Kassie decides, to speed her life in the direction she wants it to go she needs a sperm donor. However she wants to be able to meet this sperm donor man face to face and she doesn’t want to go through a sperm bank due to the heavy cost. All the while Wally is trying to convince her otherwise, that this is a bad idea, don’t go down this road, and MAYBE it’s forcing him to confront his OWN confused feelings around Kassie?
