Jennifer Parker, Ed.D. is a Faculty Development Coordinator at the University of Florida. With over 30 years in education, she spent her last 15 years as an Instructional Technology/School Data Consultant for Macomb Intermediate School District. She is an adjunct faculty for Central Michigan University’s Master of Arts in Learning, Design, & Technology, an ISTE Recognized Program. She has collaborated on hundreds of educational websites and online courses, most notably as co-creator of the 21things4 sites. Kate Grunow has been in education for over a decade as a K-12 digital media specialist and English teacher. She currently serves 130,000 students and over 10,000 teachers in metro Detroit. She is one of the co-creators of the 21 Things 4 project and a presenter at local, state, and national conferences on topics such as blended learning, free technology tools, learning management platforms, and digital-age teaching and learning. Dr. Troy Hicks is a professor of English and education at Central Michigan University, where he serves as Chair of the Department of Teacher and Special Education. He also directs the Chippewa River Writing Project, a site of the National Writing Project, and collaborates with K–12 colleagues to explore how they implement newer literacies in their classrooms. Dr. Hicks speaks regularly at conferences, workshops, and webinars and has authored dozens of resources, including books, articles, chapters, blog posts, and other media broadly related to the teaching of literacy in our digital age.

Emily Davis served as a Special Assistant for teacher leadership to U.S. Secretaries of Education John King and Arne Duncan. Angela Elkordy, Ph.D., is chair and assistant professor, learning sciences, and program director for learning technologies at National Louis University in the Chicago area. Jessica Pack: As a middle school teacher for 16 years and a California Teacher of the Year (2014), Jessica has continually worked to redefine what learning looks like in her classroom. An ISTE author, Jessica’s book, Moviemaking in the Classroom, will be released in August 2021. She is an advocate for student choice and voice, as demonstrated by the original content her students regularly publish for a global audience. She is the Director of the Virtual Reality Lab and the Technology Enhanced Learning Lab (TELL) at ODU. Crompton is on Stanford’s list of the top 2% of scientists in the world, and she has received numerous awards in the USA and her home country England for her work in technology integration, including the SCHEV award for the Outstanding Professor of Virginia. She is a consultant for various governments and bilateral and multilateral organizations, such as the United Nations and the World Bank on educational technology topics. Martha A. Ramírez is an English instructor in the Department of Languages and Culture at Universidad de Los Andes. She has a bachelor’s degree in foreign languages from the National Pedagogical University and a master’s degree in education from the University of Los Andes. She’s a master teacher for the Flipped Learning Global Initiative (FLGI), and an expert in the Flipped Learning Level II course and the FLGI Differentiation Certification course. She served as a volunteer coordinator for Electronic Village Online (EVO; TESOL initiative) for four years, and has been a virtual moderator of the Flipped Learning EVO session since 2016. Ramirez has participated in several national and international flipped learning projects, including those at La Universidad de Los Andes, Universidad Externado, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Ecuador and University of Oregon. Currently, Ramirez is part of a research group on bilingualism and multilingualism in the Andes, studying growth mentality and applying flipped learning to her research projects.
Carolina R. Buitrago has been an EFL teacher for over 20 years. She currently works as a professor and researcher at Institución Universitaria Colombo Americana–UNICA. Buitrago is a master teacher for the Flipped Learning Global Initiative, and was recently named to the FLGI 50, a list of the top 50 flipped learning leaders in higher education worldwide. She is also one of 49 international delegates who participated in the revision and evaluation of the Global Standards for Flipped Learning. Buitrago co-led the project “Flipping English learning, improving our 21st century Colombian learners’ outcomes through technology and autonomy,” which won the BETT Education and Technology in Higher Education Award in 2015. She also led the planning team for FlipTech Latam 2019. Buitrago has served on the board of the Flipped Learning Network since 2021.
We’re all discovering that the post-pandemic classroom requires greater flexibility to meet the broader spectrum of student needs. Our guests explain how the UDL framework can help us provide the flexibility to personalize instruction, reduce the need for IEPs and restore a love for learning. Kendra Grant (@KendraFGrant) has held many roles in education, including teacher, district special education coordinator, and assistive technology (AT) specialist for a large school district. She was also the owner of a professional learning company delivering large-scale technology implementation across North America. Grant recently moved into corporate training with the goal of creating a more inclusive workplace built upon Universal Design for Learning. Grant holds a master’s of educational technology (MET) from the University of British Columbia and is a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP).
Luis Pérez (@eyeonaxs) is a technical assistance specialist at CAST. He holds a doctorate in special education and a master’s degree in instructional technology from the University of South Florida. He was selected as an Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE) in 2009 and as a Google in Education Certified Educator in 2014. More recently, Pérez was recognized with an ISTE Making It Happen award. He is past president of ISTE’s Inclusive Learning Network, which named him its 2016 Outstanding Inclusive Educator. Valerie Tagoe is a high school librarian in Texas. She’s a winner of the S. Janice Kee Award from Texas Woman’s University, and a past president of the Dallas Association of School Librarians. Valerie has 20 years of experience in education and libraries. She holds a bachelor’s in French, with a minor in History, from the University of Oklahoma; a Master’s of Bilingual Education from Southern Methodist University; and an MLS from Texas Woman’s University. Valerie is also involved in the American Library Association and the Texas Library Association. I am excited to learn more about Data Science through the LEADING Fellowship and plan to apply what I learn to my work as a school librarian. Julia E. Torres is a veteran language arts teacher and librarian in Denver Public schools. As a teacher/activist committed to education as a practice of freedom, her practice is grounded in the work of empowering students to use language arts to fuel resistance and positive social transformation. Julia was awarded the 2020 National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Teacher of Excellence award and currently serves teachers as part of the Assembly on Literature for Adolescents of NCTE board of directors. Julia facilitates workshops and professional conversations about anti-bias/anti-racist education, social justice, and culturally sustaining pedagogies in language arts, as well as digital literacy and librarianship. Christopher Bugaj is a founding member of the Assistive Technology Team for Loudoun County Public Schools in Virginia. Karen Janowski is an assistive and educational technology consultant, and an adjunct professor at Simmons College in Boston. Mike Marotta is a Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology (RESNA) Certified Assistive Technology Professional and the director of the Richard West Assistive Technology Advocacy Center at Disability Rights New Jersey. He’s also adjunct professor at Ramapo College of New Jersey where he teaches master’s courses in assistive technology and UDL. Marotta serves on the Center for Accessible Educational Materials (CAST) and Center on Inclusive Technology and Education Systems (CITES) advisory boards. He’s the founder of EdcampAccess NJ, an unconference focused on teacher-led professional development opportunities on inclusion, special education and assistive technology. Marotta co-moderates the weekly #ATchat Twitter chat that brings together an international group of practitioners to discuss issues related to the delivery of effective assistive technology services. He’s a nationally and internationally recognized presenter, and in 2017 he was named the ISTE Inclusive Learning Network Outstanding Educator.
Beth Poss is a school-based administrator in Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) in Maryland. She’s worked as an assistant principal, coordinator of preschool special education programs, member of the MCPS assistive technology team and an instructional specialist for UDL. She presents nationally and internationally on best practices in teaching and learning with technology. She also serves as adjunct faculty for Johns Hopkins University’s Graduate School of Education. Poss is passionate about sharing the importance of designing inclusive learning environments, effective technology use in early childhood settings and culturally responsive teaching.

Fanny Passeport is the Director of Learning and Curriculum at the Anglo-American School of Sofia, Bulgaria. Fanny started her international experience as an International Baccalaureate French Language Acquisition teacher in Middle and High School and later taught in the Elementary School. Teresa S. Foulger is a chapter author and co-editor of Championing Technology Infusion in Teacher Preparation: A Framework for Supporting Future Educators and is an Associate Professor of Educational Technology and Program Coordinator for Educational Studies (BAE) in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University (ASU). She has expertise in leading educational transformation and works to advance the use of technology for all learners. Her scholarship is use-inspired and she has published about the innovative use of technology in education, the technology infusion movement in teacher preparation, innovative professional development models, and strategies for organizational change. Teresa supports and researches the adoption of technology infusion at ASU, which has resulted in a sequence of peer-reviewed journal articles that document the long-term change project. This scholarship has received numerous research awards including the Outstanding Research Article Award (2014 and 2019) from the Journal of Digital Learning in Teacher Education; Best Practice Award for the Innovative Use of Technology (2017, with colleagues) from the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education’s (AACTE) Committee on Innovation and Technology; and the Best Research Paper Award (2014) from the American Educational Research Association (AERA), Technology as a Change Agent in Teaching and Learning Special Interest Group. Teresa led and co-authored international research that resulted in defining the Teacher Educator Technology Competencies (TETCs), which serve to guide the professional development of teacher educators who teach in a technology-infused preparation program. This work was awarded the Edward C. Pomeroy Award for Outstanding Contributions to Teacher Education from AACTE (2021, with colleagues). Teresa served as President of the ISTE Teacher Education Network from 2011–2015 and received the Making IT Happen award from ISTE in 2019. Dr. Kevin J. Graziano, contributor and co-editor of Championing Technology Infusion in Teacher Preparation: A Framework for Supporting Future Educators, is a Professor of Teacher Education in the School of Education at Nevada State College. He teaches educational technology courses to preservice and inservice teachers and conducts research on teachers’ technology integration in the classroom. Kevin is the recipient of the 2012 Nevada System of Higher Education, Board of Regents’ Teaching Award. In 2012, Kevin also received a Fulbright Specialist grant from the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. He provided training on educational technology to preservice teachers at Sakhnin College in Sakhnin, Israel. In the same year, Kevin completed two international fellowships to the University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia and the Marino Institute of Education in Dublin, Ireland where he trained teacher educators and preservice teachers on photovoice and technology. During his sabbatical in 2015, Kevin worked with teachers at a newcomer high school to flip the math classroom. He has co-authored international research that led to the development of the Teacher Educator Technology Competencies (TETCs).

Michelle Zimmerman has taught students from ages 3-16. She received her Ph.D. in learning sciences and human development from the College of Education at the University of Washington in Seattle, and her research has been recognized with multiple awards. Grace Collins is the founder of Snowbright Studio, an LGBTQ+ certified game and media development studio. They previously led game-based education policy at the U.S. Department of Education and managed educational technology projects at the Smithsonian Institution. Grace is a former computer science teacher at an all-girls’ school, a published author and game developer. Jessica Pack is the 2014 California Teacher of the Year, and was named the CUE Outstanding Educator in 2014. She has used digital storytelling as an instructional strategy for 14 years, and has presented on the topic at regional and national conferences, including the ISTE Digital Storytelling Network (DSN) 2020 Virtual Summit and ISTE20 Live. Pack has spent a decade as a teacher-consultant for DIGICOM Learning, a nonprofit that promotes and supports digital storytelling in Southern California classrooms. In this role, she provides professional development courses for teachers on digital storytelling. Pack also co-hosts the podcast “Storytelling Saves the World,” available on iTunes and SoundCloud. She previously self-published a book on iTunes called Digital Storytelling: Connecting Standards to Movie-Making (2013), and she is author of the ISTE book Moviemaking in the Classroom.
Julia E. Torres is a language arts teacher at a public high school in Denver, Colorado. J Collins taught computer science at Hathaway Brown, an all-girls’ school in Cleveland, where they founded the nation's first-ever esports team at an all-girls' school. For their work in computer science and esports, Collins was recognized as a featured voice at ISTE 2019 and with a 2020 Aspirations in Computing educator award from the National Center for Women & Information Technology.
