Gratitude - Week 3
Perhaps the most important thing we can do as Christians for our mental health is to take the time to celebrate. The Bible is full of commands to give thanks in all circumstances and so for the next few weeks, as a church, we are going to celebrate our God and the work He is doing in our community.

Unhurry - Week 4
Our fast paced and hurried culture forms and impacts us in ways that are so unhelpful to Christ’s way of life: Rest, waiting, discerning, peace, connection, purpose, hearing from God, kindness and patience, sabbath, meals together, years of jubilee and pausing to celebrate. All of these things take a way of thinking, and need intentional work in our hearts AND our calendars\

Who You Say I Am - Week 5
Over the last 3 years, there have been a series of cultural waves pushing back at the status quo of society. The #Me2 trend almost exploded as one woman after another began to speak up about abuse they’d endured, especially in Hollywood. This then overflowed into a reaction against abuse in workplaces, unequal pay based on gender and even into parenting styles that create a culture of sexism. Shortly after this, an incident where a white policeman put his knee on a black man’s throat, strangling him to death led to the #BLM movement. Shortly after this, a series of LGBTQ legislation and curriculum was released into schools and media which then became another in the series of trends. All these trends shook christians who’s identity was not clearly defined by Jesus. This series is aimed at addressing the root problem; Identity which then leads into how we see and respond to cultural messaging.

You're Doing it Wrong Week 3 - Christy has a background in journalism and teaching. She is the founder of THE CHAT which is a culture-shaping movement that exists to start conversations and impart accurate information around issues like sex, identity, social media and pornography. We believe that if these issues are left unaddressed they threaten to derail a generation. Christy has written two books and currently divides her time between researching, writing, speaking and being a wife and mom. She lives in Umdloti with her husband Brad and her children Emily, Ryan and Blake.

You're Doing it Wrong Week 2 - Is she/he the right one. This is the question romantics have been teaching us to ask for generations. The thought being that if we can just find the right one, we will magically be happy for the rest of our lives. Join us this week as we look at what the bible says about this. You're Doing it Wrong Week 1 - Can I be happy in this relationship? This is the question we often subconsciously ask ourselves all the time. We ask this when we’re sussing, dating, courting and even in our marriages. We’re making decisions about our futures based on this question. But what if we’re asking the wrong question and we’ve completely missed the purpose of relationships and marriage in general. Join us this week as we explore the meaning of marriage. Lockdown has put many people into some form of dysfunction. There is no way to escape our challenging family members. News and social media are overwhelming. And for many, it’s just too much. Without our normal outlets and healthy interactions, sin and dysfunction come to the fore. The incredible thing about grace is that there is enough for wherever you find yourself. However, grace deals with sin in a way that is difficult to receive; by just believing.

The world is dynamically changing. How we work, interact and think has and is changing due to this pandemic. Economies are changing. What used to matter seems to matter less and solutions to yesterday’s problems are irrelevant today. This old world is beginning to look really new… and scary. As we wade through the change, it’s easy to lose hope.

The bible has so many examples of everything going wrong followed by... but God intervened. As the world enters into a time of crisis and uncertainty, there is something we as Christians have that others don’t… we have a but God statement that we can add to the end of our circumstances.

We all struggle with our perspective when life is challenging and there is a lot that seems out of your control. This week we’re going to look at the life of Joseph to see God’s perspective on what we often feel are times of purposeless hardship.
This week’s But God story is one of the coolest, and many may not know it that well. It involves curses, invisible angels and a talking donkey! It’s the story of a pagan prophet and soothsayer called Balaam who tries to curse God’s people but, instead, discovers a principle that was true then and is still true today. You can’t curse what God has blessed… and He has blessed His people. Join us online this Sunday to find out what this means for you right now and for your future.
There are over 60 times throughout the bible, that an impossible situation is described, followed by a but God statement. In the second verse in the bible it tells us that the earth was formless and void and then it says “And, which could be translated But... God said let there be light.” Join us this week as we look at how God has continued to speak life order and creativity into formless and void spaces. We will discover He God calls us to declare His word into our circumstances.
The apostle Paul, perhaps the most profound Christian to ever live said “For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” As we celebrate Easter, we are going to explore what made Paul believe that understanding Jesus’ death, life and resurrection is worth giving your entire life to.
Jesus was made a curse so that we could receive His blessing. One of the greatest curses is poverty. Poverty isn’t just a lack of finance, but an expectation of lack in any and often every area of our lives. At the cross, Jesus doesn’t just break curses over us, he also gives us power to generate wealth in every area of our lives.

Everyone is looking for something extra, a unique ‘X factor' to separate themselves, or their product, from the rest.
In this series we’ll see that Christianity has one of those too. It’s an answer. No matter the question; the answer is the same and it’s so unique, so powerful, that it’s the difference maker. Right now the answer to every question seems to be, “strange times”. Everyone is saying it and trying to sound philosophical but that answer offers no help or hope. We need a better answer to anchor ourselves to. Join us online this Sunday to see what it is.

Join us this week as we speak into “what to do in a crisis”. As we explore the crisis the early church faced in acts 8, we learn principles for dealing with a crisis like Carona today. You’ll leave this sermon encouraged and feeling like there are some kingdom "to do’s" in this time of isolating and uncertainty.
Amo o'Kennedy: Follow Me As I Follow Jesus
This past Sunday we were completely blessed to have Amo o'Kennedy from Shofar Goerge. Having lead the men's getaway, he completed his time with us speaking into our 'I Am Disciple' series ... with a message on "Follow Me As I Follow Jesus", and how we engage our hearts, not just our minds.
Ross Rodger: Radically Submitted
We judge photos by how good we look in them. We judge arguments or confrontations by how smart we sounded and how well we came out of them. We judge days, or first dates, or church events by how happy or satisfied they left us feeling. Because we’re so self centred and subjective in our happiness we tend not to trust anyone else with being in charge of it. We resist the idea of submitting to others, not just because that might imply that they are better than us, but also because we just don’t believe they can be better than us at ensuring our happiness… yet Jesus, not only the best human that ever lived, but arguably the happiest, voluntarily surrendered His will to someone else. Why?

What allowed Jesus to walk on water? How did Jesus actually cancel natural weather phenomena? What frequency did Jesus use to hear the thoughts of people’s hearts? Join us this week as we discuss the power Jesus promised to those who call themselves disciples and talk about how to access that power.

Gary Blair: A Disciple Makes Fishers Of Men
Jesus came to seek and save the lost. Page after page of scripture is about Jesus’ radical love for those who were either victims or perpetrators to the mess they found themselves in; from adulterers to lepers. His radical love reached those who believed in Him and those who rejected him. To call yourself a disciple or follower of Jesus means to walk in the ways of the Rabi. Join us this week as we look at making fishers of men.

The word discipleship often has a negative connotation. For some, it sounds cultish, for others it feels controlling or manipulative, however we would all love to be discipled by a world leader in some area of our lives. Maybe business, a career, a sport or a hobby. Jesus, the world leader in life, invites us to follow him, to be His disciples in life. And He does that because He believes that if we give ourselves to following Him we can be like Him. Join us this week as we look at the incredible opportunity Jesus offers us to become a disciple and what that would mean for our lives.
Lutho Ngebeza: A courageous community is a gospel centred community deeply rooted in love.
Everyone wants to be part of a community of courage. A community that calls us to be the best we can be. This week, we are going to look at how communities of courage are founded on the power of the gospel to change lives. Join us this week as we take a look at how God comes to rescue us from our sin and then empowers with His grace to bring life and healing into the world around us.

Natalie Naude:The fuel of a courageous community is worship
So many christians live similarly to the world around them. They have the same fears and perspectives that govern them. We need a courageous community to pull us out of this news24 thinking and into the life of the kingdom. The fuel of courageous communities is worship; a realization and declaration of how big God is despite whatever threats we may be facing .

Paul Taylor: A courageous community stops treating it like something to be consumed and start seeing it as an opportunity to invest
What if you can chose to invest or consume every resource in your life? If consumption is the using up of something, investment means deploying a resource in order that it creates more wealth in the long run than it would have by using it up in the moment. We can consume our time or invest it. We can give our attention and energy to things offering immediate gratification or focus our attention and energy on things that will offer a return. We can probably even see food choices as an opportunity to consume or invest in our wellbeing. The Bible calls this “sowing and reaping”. This week we will look at how this principle applies to our relationships and see that we can only build a truly satisfying community when we stop treating them like something to be consumed and start seeing them as an opportunity to invest

Before the infilling of the Holy Spirit, The disciples were hiding in fear. Something incredible happened when the Holy Spirit came upon them; it seemed that He put fire into everything they had learnt and seen from Jesus. Suddenly, instead of shrinking back in fear, they boldy and courageously began preaching about Jesus. The same people but completely different. The truth is, we all need the infilling of the Holy Spirit to leave the safety of our comfortable place and become a community of courage. Gary Blair: Lord place me
We all want to be part of a community that makes us better than we are. A community that lifts us up and encourages us to discover and use the gifts and talents that God has placed within us. But being or finding that community can be difficult. This week we are going to explore the idea that God places us into relationships for our good, to be a blessing to those he places us with, but ultimately God places us in relationships for the sake of His mission. Seeing community through this lens will cause us to be expectant that God will place us, use us and bless us in right relationships in the church. Join us this week as we explore God’s plan for our relationships.

When Jesus decided to change the world, he chose twelve people to do life with and designated them apostles. The plan was that they would be with Him, and that He might send them out. Jesus knew what we often forget, life change happens best in community; That’s where character gets shaped, that’s where we learn our purpose, that’s where we learn how to test the voice of God, community is where we get the courage to step into the calling of God. So, from the very beginning, the “Jesus Movement” was a small group movement, a group of disciples that Jesus did life with. This week we are going to explore how God continues to use small groups of people centered on Jesus to heal, shape and send us out into the world for the sake of His mission.

Ross Rodger: Intimacy
We were made for connection to God; Deep heart to heart intimate connection. We long for it because God, in His grace, has put into our design a need for His perfect love. This is why people go to the ends of the earth to find the “perfect one”. It’s why from the beginning of time, men have been finding things to worship, be it the gods of weather or fertility or wealth. The scripture says that God has determined our allotted periods and the boundaries of our dwelling place, that we should seek Him, and perhaps feel our way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us. It’s like God has put into our soul a homing device that points us towards an intimate relationship with Him.
As we begin 2020, the one thing we need to have 20/20 vision on is an intimate relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Join us this week as we put a line in the sand on what is most NB this year.

Deon Smith: 2020 Vision
As we begin 2020 we are very excited to have a message that will help us have 2020 vision in terms of who Jesus was and is, and how in His life, He encompassed the names and character of God
John 17:6
I have revealed Your name to those You have given Me out of the World. They were Yours; You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.

Today we celebrate the incredible man that is Jesus, and all the amazing things he did for us. Thanks to the Unseen Gift, Mary fell pregnant with our King. The Son of God needed the Holy Spirit, and so do we. Why is it so important to be born of the Holy Spirit, let’s unpack this.

Lutho Ngebeza: The Unseen Gift You Need
We all need help in this crazy world we live in, a world that can often times be overwhelming. The Unseen Gift gives you so much support to be able to take on this world, with this gift being a multitude of things, but today we are going to focus on how the Holy Spirit can be the greatest comforter.

Who is this Unseen Gift? The mystery that is the Holy Spirit is so important to unpack, and get to know. We start the series by looking through the bible at different moments that the Holy Spirit made an impact, with hopes to understand this unseen gift.

Ross Rodger interview:
Part of being a blessing is the words we use. This week we discover how our words and proclamation can become a spiritual force that charges the city.
Ross Rodger and Nhlanhla:
This week, we were deeply inspired by Nhlanhla Khambule, who through his story of starting an education value chain, called us to living a life of impact by giving away the skills we have been blessed with!
Ross Rodger:
Once a year we do a series to reinforce our love and value for the city God has placed us in. This year we have called the series Isibusiso, which means to BE a blessing. The goal of this series is to help connect God’s personal will for our lives to His will for the city He has placed us into. Over these next four weeks, we will be looking at how God views cities, how he expects us to view them and what he expects from us when it comes to caring for the city.
Gary Blair:
God wants to make you fruitful and fruitfulness looks like creating, leading, confronting, risking and taking your place in the epic story of the sons and daughters of God who work to see things on earth as they are in heaven. Bearing fruit like that is really sweet!

Gary Blair:
God's heart for the city is not just that they will be a concentration of people, but that the concentration of skills and industry result in increased prosperity. And that this prosperity benefits all those in the city. Unfortunately, greed and indifference towards the poor results in systemic evil that locks people into poverty, which God hates. God has given His people a generous heart to break this systemic evil and meet the needs of the poor. He has anointed us for this task!
Ross Rodger:
This week we are looking at how God’s plan for our lives is worked out in the context of the city He has placed us in. As we look at cities throughout the bible, we are able to better understand both God’s perspective on them and our role in them. This sermon will help you to understand what kills cities and How God can use us to change them.
Natalie Naude: Be led like Him
Now we get to the specific and exceptional things that are in God’s will for individuals. Jesus trusted His father enough to follow Him into some amazing adventures, this week we look at what it would take for us to do the same.
This sermon we have a guest speaker named Audrey Mbuyazi. Audrey is a singer-songwriter, speaker and author. As she finishes off our God's will for your life series, she speaks into being fruitful in the spirit. How we need to grow it, maintain it and look after it.
Natalie Naude: Love like Him
Have you ever experienced the power of genuine love to totally change a situation? Fear, doubt, cynicism, anger can be totally diffused by receiving it and even mundane activities can be made glorious by giving it. Love for God, love for self and love for others is the great diagnostic of whether or not you are aligned with God’s will.
We have Gugu Dlamini who turned Umgeni water around, it was running at a loss of around 250M when she took over and ran at a profit of 50M/yr 3 years later. We also have Ajiv Maharaj who heads up economic development in Durban and Aurelia Albert who heads up Innovate Durban. They spoke the opportunities in Durban despite the economic climate we’re in.

Siya Madonsela: Live like Him/die like Him
Everyone has a plan for your life. Marketers, your in-laws, Google and Facebook, your friends, maybe even you. Wouldn’t it be great to know exactly what God’s will for your life is, especially considering He says it is good, pleasing and perfect for you?
We start the series by looking at the life of Jesus to see what it would look like to live in God’s will. We’ll see that it is much more to do with who you become than what you do and that, just like everything in nature, Jesus shows how the beginning of every great life is a great death.

Gary Blair: The Prodigal Rebel
The parable of the prodigal sons is about two sons that, though they are sons, live like orphans. Both of them mistrust their father. The first has the heart of a rebel, and takes his inheritance and squanders it, believing that his father is a kill-joy and that life will be better without him. The result is brokenness and desolation, for rather than finding joy, he found that life apart from the father is bankrupt. He was made for the father.
So, this son returns home, hoping to become a slave. But rather than becoming a slave, for the first time he discovers the full extent of his father’s love. He is restored to the position of a son, with significance, acceptance and security.
Ross Rodger: The Inheritance of Sons
Every believer is called to live as a son of God; and every son has an inheritance. This inheritance is not only stored up for us, but available to us every day. The promises of God are for his sons. Unfortunately, many sons never walk in their full inheritance because they either live as a rebel, or a Pharisee. Neither of them believe the Father can bless them, and so both choose to live orphan-hearted lives. They fight and compete to try and get what they want, and even if they get it, they can’t enjoy it, for there is no security that it will be there tomorrow. They struggle with authority all their lives, for they always mistrust it. They find security in sin patterns and false-affections, in idols of the heart, for they can’t receive it from the Father. And they never feel like they have a home.
But the Father is bringing us home. In this home we are loved for who’s we are, not what we do. We are provided for as sons, not slaves. Slaves have just enough to stay alive to keep producing; sons are called to thrive. All of this is by God’s grace, His lavish love that seeks to bless His children. But it is only through grace. Those who work for it, can’t receive it.
Ross Rodger: We all need a Father
Luke chapter 3 describes Adam as the son of God. When Adam and Eve sinned, they bought into the lie that God was not a good Father, that He was withholding His best from them. This resulted in spiritual death - they were cut off from the Father, and their state was reduced to that of a spiritual orphan. Ever since then, the Father has been fighting to bring us back into relationship with Him. His desire is that Jesus would be the first born of MANY sons and daughters. He wants us to find our significance, acceptance and security in relationship to Him, and not the things of this world. His whole plan, His whole heart, in sending His Son to die on the cross, is for us to know Him as a Father, and it gives Him great pleasure!

Gary Blair: The Prodigal Pharisee
The first son was a rebel and wasted his inheritance to prodigal living. The second son was a pharisee, and wasted his inheritance to prodigal living. He wasted his inheritance because he never experienced it, for he was so busy trying to earn it that he couldn’t receive it. He is angered by the father’s generosity towards his rebel brother in restoring him as a son, but he is unwilling to receive the father’s generosity and so does not live as a son. Though in the home, he lives as a slave and not a son. He tries to find his significance, acceptance and security in his own performance rather than receiving it freely from his father.

Staying connected to your kids in a digital age.
An incredible panel featuring Christy Herselman from THECHAT.CO.ZA and Jonathan Manley the headmaster of St Mary’s DSG presented their experiences and insights in a way we are convinced left parents equipped and inspired to connect with their kids better than ever before in a hyper-connected world.
Brett Holding: Friend or Fling
Do your friends actually like you, or just how you make them feel? Are the people we give our time and energy to really that important, or are we actually most interested in what we can get out of them? When we’re brutally honest, we’re pretty bad at friendships because we’re pretty consumeristic about them. God has a different way of doing relationships that avoids shallow and avoids needy co-dependance, this week we’ll investigate true friendship not just fling-ship.

Who are we? Where are we going? Why are we going there? What will it look like when we get there?
Over the next four Sundays we will take a careful, practical, theological, and inspirational look at who God is calling our church to be and why that is great news for our City.

Simon Sinek said “People don't buy what you do; they buy why you do it.” Over the next four weeks, we are going to be talking about why we do church. Each week, we will be looking at one aspect of our Enjoy God, Love People, Release Potential and Impact community vision statement. Our prayer is that as we remind ourselves about the why, we will see people in our community getting clearer about their why and how that fits into the vision of the church to see greater and greater impact in our city.
Paul Taylor:
Relationships are hard. What did that look mean? Can they be trusted? What are my boss’s intentions really? Why am I so easily offended by her? Why am I so good at offending him? Is anyone really what they seem? What if everyone is actually an alien inside a realistic human suit and I’m the only normal one? These are common questions that many of us ask.
Even when we have lots in common relationships are a high stakes game with no guarantees, but God also created us male and female, and uniquely different, which adds even more beautiful complexity. In our next series we’re going to investigate some of the things that God has said about how relationships of all descriptions can thrive because we all know we need some help.
God seems to think no relationship is truly private. He wants in on all of them. Not just to give advice but as an active member… even in marriage. And that should put us on high alert because God has a very strange way of doing relationships. “Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, work for earthly masters as if you were working for Jesus,” etc. etc. This upside-down principle is at its most extreme when it comes to submission; the idea of following, honoring, even obeying people who don’t deserve it.
This Sunday we look at what is at stake for our relationships if we never engage with this idea, and how it might be the most beautiful instruction of all.

Ross Rodger: How to fight like a girl.
If the stereotype is correct then fighting like a girl means using words not fists. Talking out your frustrations instead of acting them out. Doing reps to get your emotional intelligence buff and your self awareness sharp, instead of relying on big muscles and pointy sticks to intimidate. If that’s what fighting like a girl is, it requires much more courage and promises far better results! This Sunday is about how to stay safe when you’re in the relational equivalent of a Middle Eastern bar fight with only an English/Afrikaans dictionary and potato samoosa for protection.

Gary Blair: Watercooler Conversations
You know the spot at work where the gossip always happens, but do we know why it happens? Conflict and judgements are far easier to discuss with just about anyone other than the person in question. That’s because we’re all either fighters or flighters, we bully or get bull-dozed, so we avoid the very person we should be talking to! Can two people disagree and remain convinced that both of them matter just as much?

Ross Blair: It's right but it's not fair.
Ross Rodger: Compete vs Compliment/Complete (Add your strength)
Marriage, work, parenting, friendships… society thinks it has figured out the solution to pain in all of these areas. Fairness! If we could just force everyone to play by the rules, to give everyone an equal chance, make sure nobody is disadvantaged, left behind or made to feel different... then we would have cracked the code. But what if there is a higher standard than fairness. What if there is a solution to bias that doesn’t have to remove diversity. What if the alternative to competition doesn’t have to be conformity, but can be to compliment different strengths? This week we look at the unexpected foundation for all truly beautiful relationships (spoiler: it isn’t fairness)
Siya Mandonsela: Friend or Fling
Do your friends actually like you, or just how you make them feel? Are the people we give our time and energy to really that important, or are we actually most interested in what we can get out of them? When we’re brutally honest, we’re pretty bad at friendships because we’re pretty consumeristic about them. God has a different way of doing relationships that avoids shallow and avoids needy co-dependance, this week we’ll investigate true friendship not just fling-ship.

Paul Taylor: How to be good at Decisions
Most of us are constantly deciding. Our lives are made up, in large part, by all the decisions we’ve made till this point. Often the biggest things can be traced back to a series of small decisions that we barely noticed at the time, but life also has a habit of really upping the stress-levels around certain calls we have to make, often unhelpfully. We scroll through life at breakneck pace, choosing and deciding, pursuing or ignoring options with barely any pause, or with minimal information, and when we’re forced to slow down by a real conundrum the alternatives can be equally unclear or morally confusing. Can God help us? This Sunday we’ll take a quick look at contemporary insights before turning to the Bible in search of a Godly approach to decision making.
Ross Rodger: We start and end by faith: All the promises are by faith
This week opens the issue that, not only are we saved by faith, but we mature and enter into the promises of God through faith. Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness,” but he also entered into the promise through enduring faith. We too, are saved by faith, grow by faith, and enter into God’s destiny for us by faith.
Jules Vidas shared her story of how God used her Comrades journey to impact her walk with Him. on Thursday the 11th July at KCC.
Sadly the first few minutes of her talk was not recorded, but enjoy the touching story she shares.
Gary Blair: The results of justification by faith: What a privileged position!
It is important to understand what Jesus has given us. All of God’s promises are for the righteous, and we are righteous in Jesus. We have peace with God, undeserved privilege, have hope for our future, are loved by God and considered His friends.
This sermon is an absolute exaltation of His goodness and grace!
Glen Campbell
We are set free from the consequences of sin AND it’s power. We are NOT set free from the consequences of sin to sin with impunity. God graciously dealt with the consequences of sin and it’s power over us, and set us free from sin so that we could serve God. Paul does not threaten believers with consequences with sin; he states that it is inconsistent with God’s work in their lives and their new identity.

Gary Blair: The Faith to Qiut
This majestic piece of scripture is bad news for any leader, organization or internal voice that wants to manipulate your guilt but is the bedrock of all attempts to live in the freedom God has for us.
The apostle Paul argues that we really need to understand the beauty of what Christ has done for us. To understand that, we need to understand the offensiveness of our sin and the fullness of His sacrifice. When we do, we are free to enter into an amazing new way of life.

Natalie Naude: Celebration
God has done such incredible things in our community over the last 12 months, in this vision series, we want to celebrate what He has done and speak about where He is taking us, how He has provided for us in seasons past and how we are trusting Him to continue to provide personally and corporately as we seek His kingdom first.
This week we have the privilege of coming together to celebrate that we are able to give and that we are knitted into a body committed to building the church together. As we re-establish the fact that God is our provider and we celebrate the people who give, I am believing for a shift in our community towards sowing consistently into the kingdom. I would like us to spend time celebrating the gift of the widow and the gift of the roman centurion. The goal is a sense of pleasure in being with people who give to the kingdom.

Ross Rodger: Generosity
This week, we are going to speak about the principle of generosity with a bias towards celebrating acts of generosity in our church. Siya car, church building, care for one another etc. The more we can celebrate the better. We want to drive in the concept of sowing and reaping to establish a way of thinking in our people that is based on faith more than budget.
Gary Blair: First Fruits
The bible has so much to say about firsts. Abraham gave of his first tenth (the tithe), the Israelites were called to dedicate their firstborn sons and animals, they gave their firstfruits. In this week, we want to call our people back to the principle of giving your first and seeking first the advancement of the kingdom of God. At the end, we should envision people with what would be possible if we all brought our firsts to God, referring back to the opening week

Ross Rodger & Sarah Mckenzie: Vision week
This week we are looking to celebrate what God has already done in our site, remembering moments of great generosity and faithfulness. We want people to be stirred in their faith by what has happened before we envision them to the next season. This sets us up to paint a picture of where we are going before wrapping up with asking for what we need to get there.
Natalie Naude: Mother's Day
This Sunday we got to celebrate our Moms, Mama’s, Gogos, Aunt’s, Spiritual Mothers and all those who we see as Moms in the different spaces that we find ourselves in.

Natalie Naude: It is finished, but it isn't over
If the resurrection wasn’t alarming enough, even stranger things are happening, not just in Jerusalem, but all over the Roman world. The followers of the executed “Messiah” are exploding in number, still claiming Jesus was God’s son and came back from the dead, but also claiming their new version of Judaism is the only way to God. We look at what they believe, why hundreds are joining their movement, and how they explain the stories of miracles that seem to surround their every move.

Paul Taylor: What if it were true?
Hundreds witnessed his burial, thousands witnessed his death. Roman centurions guarded the tomb, a detail of temple guards were assigned as well. Few executions have ever been as closely watched or as highly secure, yet days later the body can’t be found and people are claiming the condemned man is still alive! Who messed up? How did it happen? Is there any credibility to those claiming Jesus rose from the dead, and if it is actually true, what on earth might that mean?

Gary Blair: Prayer and fasting and How God comes through
If you’ve ever tried fasting and praying, you would have realized that it isn’t that easy! The question people often ask is what’s the point! This week we are going to look at how God has and continues to Break through internally and externally when His people fast and pray for big and small problems that only God can fix.
Gavin Rich: Hiding in plain sight
Our first piece of reporting on the Easter story starts with the people who chose to make it happen. The legal and religious groups who arrested Jesus of Nazareth, put him on trial, and ultimately decided he needed to be executed. What drove their decision? What threat did he pose? And did any of the chief priests or pharisees secretly regret the decision they made - or even believe his claims? We lift the lid on some of the most important and most misunderstood people in the story.

Paul Taylor: Sovereign grace despite us
In every relationship we are in, we are responsible for something. At work, we have relationships with teams and bosses where this should be crystal clear. At home, we have responsibilities to our spouses, children, parents and siblings and you generally know pretty quickly when you failed to fulfil your responsibility. In our relationship with God we have responsibility too, but unlike the relationships with our siblings and colleagues, God doesn’t change how he behaves based on how we behave. God fulfils his promises, even when we are unfaithful. This week we want to inspire you with the unfathomable grace of God in the midst of our shortcomings.
Gary Blair: Faith that endures
It’s so inspiring hearing the God stories of breakthrough that happen in the moment, but often breakthrough only happens as a process and because we often don’t expect it to take so long or know how to find the grace in the process, we give up! In this week’s sermon on Faith That Endures, we are going to look at the gift of faith and how it gives us the strength to endure as we wait for the promise. We’re going to see how endurance is something God uses to shape us and is often the greatest testimony to those around us, because it doesn’t make worldly sense that people we could have joy in seasons of trials and no breakthrough.

This week we are going to launch into our but God series with an incredible but God tale of grit and grace. Sandesh from Roti and Chai will be speaking about how after coming to Christ he was rejected by his entire family and found himself living out of his car, but God began to work in and through him and has taken Sandesh on an incredible adventure of blessing. You don’t want to miss this incredible testimony!

Brett Holding: Care less about perfection, but avoid being average.
Give up on perfect! The apostle Paul said that he cared very little about what others thought of him. He did not even care about his own judgement of himself. He had totally embraced the idea that even his best works were useless in comparison to the great work Jesus had done for him. SO why didn’t Paul turn into a very average slob? After striving to be someone, or get somewhere, or do something, or attain something perfect, Paul found something else to take total responsibility for which allowed him to live the most above average life he could!
Paul Taylor: Care Less about tomorrow, at least not more than today.
“Do not worry about tomorrow…” Why does Jesus tell us this? It seems such a hard instruction to follow. Almost everything we care about these days seems to involve some level of worrying about tomorrow.
But while you can’t choose what tomorrow will produce, you can choose your posture today.
You can’t be sure of your ultimate destination, you can control your current direction.
Worrying about outcomes is wasteful, committing to practices is worthwhile. This Sunday we’ll settle once and for all, which is the most important day of the week.

Natalie Naude: Care less about performing, especially for the crowd
Is it possible to love people better, and enjoy them more, while caring less about what they think of you, or what they want you to care about? More importantly, might we love people better if we fear them less?
Simon Hemsly: Care less about perfection, but avoid being average
Give up on perfect! The apostle Paul said that he cared very little about what others thought of him. He did not even care about his own judgement of himself. He had totally embraced the idea that even his best works were useless in comparison to the great work Jesus had done for him. SO why didn’t Paul turn into a very average slob? After striving to be someone, or get somewhere, or do something, or attain something perfect, Paul found something else to take total responsibility for which allowed him to live the most above average life he could!
In a culture that is constantly telling us to care more, one of the most important things we can learn is how to care less, or even; not care at all, particularly about the things that aren’t ours to care about. It won’t always be popular but caring about people is not synonymous with caring about what they care about, and in your short but incredibly valuable life you only have so many “cares” to give. In this episode, Paul Taylor speaks on, "Care less about people, or at least what they care about."

At the moment Israel touched dry ground on the other side of the Red sea they must have thought nothing could ever induce them to return to Egypt, which makes it even more alarming that part way to the promised land many of them were telling Moses they’d rather return! Does anything like that happen in our lives? Where do those thoughts come from and how could we avoid them? In this episode, Natalie Naude speaks on, "Egypt behind."

What if the things that nourished you yesterday are no good for you today? What if the way things used to work isn’t how they’re going to work? God’s people have often wanted to be spiritual hoarders, saving up what used to be good for us so we don’t have to face today without a back-up plan, but the Exodus story shows us that this is just another symptom of our former slavery, God has a better way for us to live. In this episode, Gary Blair speaks on, "Feeding on todays word."

We were created for togetherness, to navigate this life with a tribe. A community brought together with shared experiences, victories, vision, and destiny. With a shared sense of purpose. There are rich lessons to learn from the people of Israel. In this episode, Natalie Naude speaks on, "Who's your tribe."
In the life of faith, moving towards your promised land, there will be a day where you come to a place of no water. In that moment, you either turn back or wait on God. This message is about choosing to wait on God, for the Holiness of His name. In this episode, Ross Rodger speaks on, "Water from a rock."

After leaving Egypt, God brought his people to the threshold of the promised land, but they saw giants, freaked out, and lost their courage to walk into God’s blessing. What can we learn from this? That leaving Egypt is different from entering into blessing, that we have an active role to play, and that God wants to work through us to bless the world around us. In this episode, Natalie Naude speaks on, "Giant slayers."
