Different Church Podcast: Recent Episodes

Different Church

Does the world need another church? No, it needs a different church! We are different because Jesus was different. He turned the world’s ideas about God upside down, and through love, forever changed the way that humans could relate to God and each other. We're different because there is a person who sees the typical church and longs for something more, something better. Maybe that person is you. We are radically inclusive, serious about understanding the historical context of scripture, and financially transparent and responsible. Maybe you're different too?

We hope you are safe and healthy right now, because times are crazy.  It's amazing how the bible can speak to us in these times.  When Hannah planned her sermon for this week, it wasn't with the Coronavirus in mind.  But, a message of peace and comfort weaved it's way in.  I'm really proud of my pastor for this message.  Share it with your friend, or anyone who could use some peace.

Episode three of the Different Church podcast is called "Yahweh Or The Highway?"  The question mark at the end is totally on purpose because Hannah explores some questions from our listeners that all touch on similar ideas - Is Jesus REALLY the only way?  Are other religions valid?  Are all religions just different paths to the same goal?

Welcome to the second episode of The Different Church Podcast!  This is the one where we start figuring out exactly what our format is going to be.  Each episode will start with an update on what's going on with the church and then get into the meat and potatoes - which is a bible study / sermon from Hannah.  Jump ahead to around 6:40 to hear Hannah talk about truth and the Bible.  Is the Bible true?  Is that even a good question to ask?  If you're considering checking out Different Church (when we get up and running) this will give you a good idea of how we teach the scriptures.  Thanks for listening, and enjoy this episode called "My Name Is Rufus, And That's The Trufus".

Hi!  Jarrett here.  Hannah and I are so excited to jump in to a conversation about the world needing a different kind of church.  We believe faith is the most important part of our lives.  We also believe there are too many churches out there getting things wrong and ruining it for the rest of us.  The world doesn't need another church, it needs a different church.  We'd love for you to join us on this journey of what some people call progressive Christianity.  Jump in to this community of questioners committed to exploring faith in Jesus Christ, loving our neighbor, and inclusion for all.
