The Orthodoxy Podcast started in 2019. At the time it was hosted by myself (Andy Schmitt) and a pastor from High Point Church, Nic Gibson. About two years ago Nic and I parted ways. He was instant on creating an ecumenical partnership with a church in Madison, WI called End Time Ministries – a church run by a husband and wife who called themselves "pastors" and publicly supported abortion, transgenderism, and homosexuality. High Point Church and Nic Gibson saw no issue with this partnership. I did. We went our separate ways. I released a podcast on July 12th, 2024 called "Optiv Theology Podcast Is Changing..." in which I shared why Nic was no longer a part of the podcast and gave evidence as to why End Time Ministries and their "female pastor", Sheila Stubbs, were promoting unbiblical and plainly evil ideologies and policies. Nic and High Point Church responded by name calling and brushing off the evident I gave, and I never responded.

But over the years that I spent at High Point Church, there were many, many other issues taking place behind the scenes that led to the decision to ecumenically partner with a Christ-hating church and ultimately, to Nic and I severing our personal and professional relationship. This episode is multifaceted and brings forth names, emails, texts, and information regarding Nic Gibson's conduct as Senior Pastor at High Point Church and accusations that have been, repeatedly, made against him to his elder board that have never been taken seriously. The High Point Church elder board has been complicit in the cover up of serious accusations by lying to their congregants (on record – this will be in the podcast) about the spiritual health of their pastors, staff members, and elders. They have made threats that have not been followed through with and have bullied and manipulated women in their congregation and on their staff to shut them up and force them into silent submission.

For two years I have deliberated over releasing this information. But in the past week High Point Church decided to inaugurate a new elder on to their elder board. This new elder has made blatant heretical statements about homosexuality and God's willingness and ability to sanctify people who are "same-sex attracted". This decision by High Point Church was the final straw for me. Madison, WI is riddled with ungodly and heretical churches filled with blind adherents to liberal philosophy. The way this has perpetuated over the decades is through bullying, manipulation, lying, deception, and the unwillingness to tell the truth. So here it is.

In this interview I talked with the Senator from Wisconsin, Ron Johnson. We discussed his bombshell report called, Unmasked: How Biden Health Officials Purposely Turned a Blind Eye Toward COVID-19 Vaccine Safety Signals. In this report, Senator Johnson and his team reveals that many people within the FDA and HHS, among other governmental organizations, knew that the COVID-19 vaccines were linked to strokes and even death as early as 2021. Senator Johnson's team found conclusive evidence that the United States Government, the majority of American media companies, and the monopolistic Pharmaceutical Companies worked together to suppress the truth about the Vaccines and, in turn, killed thousands of innocent American citizens.

For being one of the most significant reports in modern history, you would think that this story would be on the front page of every major news network and newspaper in America – you would be wrong. Senator Johnson sent his own Op-Ed regarding this report to The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and many other publications and, to nobodies surprise, he was turned down for publication. We think this had something to do with the fact that many, if not all, of these news companies are sponsored by Pfizer or Moderna and would rather keep in good standing with their financiers than tell the American people the truth about what happened during the COVID-19 Pandemic. We, at The Paradox Press, are not beholden to the Medical Mafia and for that reason, we have the ability to tell the truth. I hope you enjoy.

If you’re like me and grew up in the public school system, you may have been taught that language, reality, and truth are merely subjective. That there is no true meaning and therefore, no true values, and purpose in life. This is the philosophical illusion that most modern Westerners are born into without even knowing it. In C.S. Lewis’ book, The Abolition of Man, he attacks that very subjectivist philosophical system. But he doesn’t begin his argument in a way that you may expect, in fact, he starts his abolition of subjectivism by discussing a particular green textbook that, in his time, was being used to teach children this dangerous postmodern philosophy. Lewis goes on to explain that men who adhere to this philosophy and adopt all of its inconsistencies don’t merely exist in a constant state of confusion – no, they actually cease to men altogether. He says that this ideology actually leads to a full-on abolition of man – the end of humanity itself. But to understand what Lewis is trying to tell us modern people, you need to read his book along with another book written by the Oxford professor, Dr. Michael Ward – author of Planer Narnia and many other books and actor in a James Bond film, The World Is Not Enough. His book, After Humanity is a guide to CS Lewis’s The Abolition of Man. So, I had a conversation with Dr. Ward about Lewis, technology, postmodernism, Artificial Intelligence, contraceptives, and logical positivism. We discussed what happens when man denies objective reality and forfeits his nature and purpose and we ask the daunting and pressing question of the modern age: What comes After Humanity?

Over the past year Jew hatred has become a massive trend not just among liberals, but also among self-proclaimed “conservatives” like Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, and Nick Fuentes. If you listen to them, you probably think the “Jews” are secretly running our society and controlling out lives. You may be convinced of the arguments made by those on the far right about isolationism and Christian Nationalism, whatever that is, and about how Americans need to stay completely out of the rest of the world are thoughtful and legitimate. You may have heard theological, philosophical, and political arguments for these things. But you would be wrong. In fact, you would be missing the whole point of what these bad faith actors like Tucker and Candace are actually doing. What their actual goal is. But Rebeccah Heinrich hasn’t missed the point. In fact, she wrote a piece for The Free Press last summer called “The Right’s 1939 Project” in which she dismantles the arguments made by self-proclaimed Conservative Christians like Tucker, Candace, and Fuentes and compares their post World War 2 revisionist history to the infamous 1619 project from the New York Times in 2019. Rebeccah then, later on, wrote a piece on the National Review about why Christians should support Israel. It’s my opinion that Rebeccah is one of the only people in Conservative circles who is seeing the whole problem facing our culture and calling it out for what it is. And so, this is my conversation with Rebeecah Heinrich – I hope you enjoy!

In 1943 a group of high society anti-Nazi’s from Germany met together to discuss ways in which they could defy the Nazi regime and rebuild Germany after the war. What they didn’t know is that at that meeting there was a spy. Someone who would betray them all. In Jonathan Freedland’s new book, The Traitors Circle, he tells this unknown story of those within the Nazi regime that chose to give up everything to defy and disrupt Hitler’s plans. Why? Well, it’s not as clear cut as you could imagine. In fact, most of these anti-Nazi’s could have stayed silent, looked the other way, and remained comfortable in their high society lives until the war was over. But they didn’t. In my conversation with Jonathan Freedland, we talked about what or who could convince a group of men and women who did not need to give their lives up to sacrifice for the ultimate good of not only Germany, but the world. Zohran Mamdani was just elected to be the next Mayor of New York City. How did an anti-American, anti-Capitalism, anti-Jew, anti-Western millennial become the most powerful person in the largest city in the United States? I wanted to know. So, I talked with Zineb Riboua – a research fellow with Hudson Institute’s Center for Peace and Security in the Middle East. She’s written extensively on the Middle East and the ongoing power struggles in one of the most violent and unstable regions in the world. But what does Middle Eastern politics have to do with New York City and Zohran Mamandi? Zineb argues that the ideology that led the Left to believe that Israel and Britian were the fundamentally evil powers in Europe and the Middle East because of their “colonialization” is the same ideology that Zohran used to capture the attention and votes of the suicidal Democratic ideologues in New York City. The younger generations white colonialization guilt and Third Worldism philosophy were key factors in Zohrans ability to manipulate the American people in the largest city in the country to vote for a self-proclaimed Marxist Socialist. So, what happens to New York City next? Will it sprout into a utopia or fall into oblivion? Here’s my conversation with Zineb Riboua. I hope you enjoy!

Nick Fuentes, Ben Shapiro, Tucker Carlson, and Elon Musk. What do all of those names have in common? An utter lack of virtue and theological direction. Why? Because they play Marxist power games and refuse to deal with the core, fundamental problems our society faces — instead, they spend their time fighting to control the narrative and build artificial gods and platforms. And what happens when a society is filled with wickedness and immorality? Chaos.

The beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic started almost five years ago. You would think that in five years we would know more about what actually happened leading up to the pandemic and why, during the pandemic so many of our medical “experts” were so wrong about so many different things. If you remember, the legacy media publicly humiliated people who were using ivermectin and doctors who were giving it to their sick and almost dying patients. Mary Talley Bowden was one of those doctors. She was publicly shamed by some of the largest media outlets in the world for trying to give ivermectin to a patient who was dying during the pandemic. For doing so, she lost certain medical privileges and has been continuously investigated by the Texas Medical Board.

This saga has culminated, in the past week, in a public reprimand (and who know what that even means) of Mary. You might be wondering what the goal of this reprimand is? Well, to put it simply, it’s to destroy her career and reputation for speaking truth against the medical regime during the COVID pandemic. They want her silenced. Who is they? You’ll be surprised to learn that the man leading the Texas Medical Board is none other than Republican Governor of Texas, Gregg Abbott. I thought the Republicans were the ones fighting against the authoritarians and oligarchs who tried to kill millions of people and control our lives during COVID – I guess I was wrong.

Mary has spent years of her life fighting for her and your medical freedom. She’s spent $250,000 on legal fees and has persevered through public humiliation because she believes what was done during COVID was immoral and evil. This is my interview with Mary Talley Bowden. I hope you enjoy!

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the Trump Administration have talked quite a bit about the fact that there is a 400% increase in autism rates in children up to 8 years old between 2000 and 2022. They claim that in America we’ve gone from 1 in 150 children having autism to 1 in 31 children having autism. This spike in autism rates has had its effect on millions of families across the country and has raised serious questions related to the food we eat, the vaccines we take, and the medicine we consume on a regular basis. And now RFK Jr. announced that Tylenol, when taken late in pregnancy, is connected to the rise in autism rates. This announcement brought about a frenzy of reaction from left wing and right wing media outlets and liberal lunatics on TikTok.

Much of the liberal mainstream media claimed that RFK Jr. was a quack conspiracy theorist who has no business lecturing the American people on health and medicine. And the liberals on TikTok thought it best to stick it to the Trump administration by downing as much Tylenol as humanly possible while pregnant. But aside from what the liberal regime is saying, I wanted to know more about this new study that the White House released and its legitimacy. I want to know if Tylenol causes autism or is only associated with autism.

So, I reached out to Dr. Peter McCullough. You may know him from the days of COVID in 2020. Dr. McCullough was one of a few doctors across America who challenged the mainstream narrative related to the COVID Vaccine’s and treatments. His career and his reputation were publicly condemned and ridiculed for this. To this day Wikipedia says that “McCullough has promoted misinformation and conspiracy theories about COVID-19, its treatments, and mRNA vaccines.” Now THAT statement is an objective lie.

Dr. McCullough was willing to put his life’s work on the line during COVID and challenge the mainstream narrative, and he was right about everything he said. I thought it would be interesting to hear from Dr. McCullough about the new White House initiatives related to autism and their approach to learning about the autism epidemic. Are RFK Jr and his team actually just liars and conspiracy theorists? Or is the America Medical Industry stuck in a downward spiral of political ideological capture and a denial of facts and truth? Here’s my interview with Dr. Peter McCullough. I hope you enjoy.

In this episode, I talked with Tanya Lukyanova from The Free Press. Tanya is a video journalist who grew up in Russia and is now living in the United States. She has reported on Russia’s authoritarian decline from her home country and has reported on the war in Israel. Two weeks ago she released a video about a viral story that was dominating headlines related to the war in Israel — the story was about a young Gazan boy who was supposedly murdered in cold blood by the Israeli Defense Forces.

This story, created by Anthony “Tony” Aguilar was given legitimacy by mainstream media like MSNBC, CNN, and even Tucker Carlson. The only problem was that Anthony Aguilar made the story up out of thin air. The supposed murdered child was found weeks later and confirmed alive. Tanya reported on this for The Free Press and revealed that the entire story was blown up out of proportion for propagandistic purposes.

This conversation begins with Tanya discussing her reporting on Russia and her upbringing in Russia. She explains how the country has changed in her lifetime and how Putin is thinking through the war in Ukraine. We also talked about what the government needs to do, if anything, when media outlets are lying on purpose to conjure up paranoia and support for anti-American ideology and enemies. In this episode I talked with Larry Sanger. As you may know, Larry is the Co-Founder of Wikipedia and a recent convert to Christianity. Sanger has his PhD in Philosophy from Ohio State University and created Wikipedia’s first introduction pages and home page when the company started in the early 2000s. In recent years, Sanger has been outspoken against Wikipedia and its politically liberal bias. In his announcement of his conversion, he made it clear that he had not chosen a denomination and was not actively a member of any particular church or denomination.

In our conversation, Larry and I talked about his most recent announcement that he is joining the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA). We discussed how he came to the conclusion that the ACNA was the best Church for him to join, how he studied many different denominations on his journey to Anglicanism, and what criteria he used to guide his search for a church. This is an important conversation as Sanger gives a thorough breakdown of his logical and philosophical method of studying both the Bible and church history on his way to the Anglican Church. I hope you enjoy!

In this episode, I begin a short series based on the book by Thomas Nettles, In the Midst of the Years: A History of Reformation and Revival in America. There is much confusion in the modern age related to what revival is and how we can discern when a movement is of God is truly of God. In this book, Nettles travels through the history of reformation and revival in America — he covers people like Jonathan Edwards, Charles Finney, Dwight Moody, and Billy Sunday. He also analyzes events like the First and Second Great Awakening, the Civil War Revivials, and the 1858 Prayer revival. In this short series, I will be discussing four of these people/events in American church history.

Today, I will start in the 1700s with Jonathan Edwards. Edwards gives five criteria for analyzing and judging a revival. These criteria are still valid and extremely helpful for today. My hope is that through this series, you can more truthfully judge whether or not something is a movement of the Spirit of God or a movement of the whims of men. I hope you enjoy!

In this episode I talked with Dr. Ian Duguid. Dr. Duguid is the Professor of Old Testament at Westminster Theological Seminary. He has planted churches in California, England, and Pennsylvania and received his PhD from the University of Cambridge.

In our conversation we discussed his new book, Turning the World Upside Down: Lessons for the Church from Acts 1-8. We talked about how Christ built His church in the book of Acts and what we, in the modern world, should learn from Jesus’ disciples in the Apostolic Age. We also discussed the role the ethnic Jews play in the church and what our relationship to the Jews should be as Christians. Finally, we talked about the similarities between Judas, who sold Christ out for 30 pieces of silver, and you and I who often sell Him out for much less. I hope you enjoy!

In this episode, I talked with Lucy Biggers. Lucy is a Social Media Editor at The Free Press and has written several articles for The Free Press. She was formerly a “climate change” activist and avid supporter of progressive politicians and ideology.

In our conversation we discussed her upbringing, how she came to be a progressive, and her conversion to a more Conservative worldview. We talked about how she helped get Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez get elected and how she pushed the “climate change” narrative in The United States and abroad — even going as far as to interview Greta Thunberg. We discussed how she began to notice the logical cracks in her Marxist worldview and why she has just now started speaking up against liberal policy and ideology.

In June she wrote an article for The Free Press called ‘I Helped AOC Win. I Understand the Fantasy Zohran Is Selling.’We talked about this article and how to change the minds of the upcoming generations who seem to be stuck in a progressive black hole. I hope you enjoy!

In this episode I talked with WORLD News Reporter, Lauren Canterberry. We discussed her reporting related to the Mifepristone abortion tablets and her reporting on the SCOTUS ruling that Planned Parenthood cannot receive Medicaid funding in states like South Carolina that have outlawed federal money to be given to abortion clinics.

This was a wide-ranging conversation and one that Christians should listen to. The abortion industry, as bad as it already is, is now targeting underage girls and mailing abortion pill across the country — even to people in states that have outlawed certain abortion pills and even the mailing of abortion pills. The issue of murdering babies is not a debatable issue or a grey issue for Christians, we must defend both the lives of unborn babies and the lives of mothers. Lewis to Christianity, and why Lewis said that this book put forth the best explanation of Christianity that he had ever read. If you’re like me and grew up in the Government School system, you may have heard that the American Revolution was made possible by Enlightenment philosophy and deists who didn’t believe in a Providential God. But, like many other things in our society, it seems like that idea is itself a lie. The fact is that George Washington, John Adams, and even Benjamin Franklin believed in a God that acted in the affairs of men. In this podcast, I had the opportunity to talk with Dr. Robert P. George from Princeton University, Dr. Stephen Meyer from the Discovery Institute, and Timothy Mahoney, the Founder of Thinking Man Films and Heroic Pictures. What do these three men have in common? They believe that the narrative we’ve been told about the American Revolution is a false one.

We discussed their new movie, directed by Timothy Mahoney, The American Miracle. In this movie thinkers and scholars like Robert George and Stephen Meyer make the case that the American Revolution was made possible by the Providential hand of God working in the affairs of men - not merely enlightenment philosophy. They also make the claim that founders like George Washington and John Adams were prayerful Christians who believed that God was working in their own lives. We discussed all of this and so much more. In our conversation, Annie and I discussed the dangerous possibilities of AI, the impending end of the world (or the end of a world), and how Christians can live through the end of the world without being taken over into worldliness. Annie discusses an article she had written about C.S. Lewis’s book, That Hideous Strength, and how Lewis thought Christians should live in the ever-increasingly technological world. We also talked about the depths of human language and what happens when it feels like our words lead to paradoxes in theology. It was a wide ranging conversation, but one you do not want to miss. It’s been well documented over the past decade that mainstream media is on its way out while new and independent outlets are on the way in. It’s also been well documented that Protestant Christianity in the West is in moral decline. Theologians, pastors, authors, and laymen have forgotten that a Christian conviction is comprehensive and should touch every aspect of a believer’s life. This was common knowledge throughout church history; if you’re a Christian at church, you also have to be a Christian at home, at work, and at school. No exceptions. You even need to be a Christian on Election Day and in your involvement in politics and government. But, it seems that Christians in America haven’t been able to put the pieces together.

There has been so much talk of “third-wayism”, voting Democrat as a Christian, and “respecting everyone’s political opinions” as if politics is somehow detached from theology. The fact is that politics are not detached from theology - in fact, it’s actually an extension of theological conviction. To be Christians, we must care about policy, law, and governance in our country. We must care for and will the good of others in our society, beginning first with those in our own home and then working our way out to the rest of society. And the only way we can do that is by knowing what is actually happening around us, in our city, state, and country. We have no be informed to be able to act in love.

I’ve found it disturbing to see different news outlets in the Christian realm fail to make the connection between theology, politics, ethics, and morality. Because, in reporting the news, you have to have moral clarity (something the American church has lost). Orthodoxy & Order is going to be different. I won’t equivocate on moral issues like abortion and transgenderism like so many Protestants have in recent years. No, in fact, I will aim to tell it like it is - an immoral world requires Christians to be moral and just in their words and actions. Orthodoxy & Order will do just that. Every week on Friday I’ll bring you the news from the past week with clear, theological commentary and precise reporting (along with some other interesting facts, book recommendations, and historical quotes). Christ brought us Orthodoxy and Orthodoxy produces clarity and Order, thus, I have named this newsletter Orthodoxy & Order. I hope you enjoy!

In this episode, I respond to a recent video made by Gavin Ortlund called, “Are Catholics Christians? Why Protestants Can Say YES”. Gavin argues that early Reformation theologians like Martin Luther and John Calvin both believed that Catholics are saved. He also makes a postmodern argument for church unity.

In my response, I cover John Calvin’s actual thoughts on whether Catholics can be considered “Christians”. I talk about the problems with elitist “intellectuals” like Gavin Ortlund ripping old theologians out of context to push a postmodern, liberal narrative. I also discuss the dangers of referring to church history and old theologians before referencing the Bible. I give a more detailed breakdown of the Catholic and Protestant doctrines of justification and how they are fundamentally opposed to each other. Finally, I talk about what the Bible has to say about people like Gavin Ortlund who distort doctrine and words for personal gain. I hope you enjoy!
