What kind of church are we? This question inspires an expressed confidence in our unique contribution as a local faith community while also helping to clarify our metrics since “what we count, counts”. In the annual Super Bowl tradition of “Team Sunday”, T.D. Davis (co-lead pastor) leads us through a reflection on the previous year’s ministry fruitfulness and a reminder to stay focused on the mission of Jesus as we invite ourselves and others to “taste and see that the Lord is good”
In this message Jonathan Adamczewski (Teaching Team) briefly walks us through the value and purpose of the New Testament as a helpful exercise to coincide with our New Year’s Bible reading plan “The New Testament In 90 Days”.
No matter what we face we must keep faith in the future! This is the theme of the final words of the Lord’s prayer. When we say "yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever" we acknowledge that evil and injustice will not win in the end, but that God's reign of justice and peace will indeed rule over all! This powerful doxology means God has all Authority (Yours is the Kingdom), God has all Ability (Yours is the Power) and God gets all the Publicity (Yours is the Glory)! This powerful message will ground you in the powerful reality captured in Psalm 138 that: The Lord will work out his plans for my life for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever!"
"Lead us not into temptation" or "don't put us to the test." In the Kingdom Prayer Jesus teaches us to ask that God would keep us from trials, testing and temptation. This powerful request causes us to acknowledge our weakness and helps save us from the pride of thinking we can move forward in life without God's Grace daily. Also, this prayer places our confidence in God's ability to get us to the finish line! When we do face testing and trials, this prayer helps us encounter the "God of the mountain pass" who can make a way forward for us when we see no way!

From the beginning of creation to the end of Revelation we see all the nations, tribes, languages, and races have a special place in the heart of God and in His word he has commanded us to consider each other better than ourselves. If we practice the Word of God in our lives we will become a great example to the world and lead the way in these hard times.
Our nation is facing head on the ongoing effects of the sins of racism. The Holy Spirit wants to empower his church to be an agent of justice, hope, and healing in our world. In Acts 6, the early church has to carry the power of Pentecost into the problems of the present world as they confront the challenges of racism and inequity in their own midst. What questions can this powerful passage teach us to ask ourselves as we seek to follow the guidance of the Spirit in our own time?
"We find ourselves in the midst of a national crisis in addition to a global pandemic. Even so, God is powerfully working in ways we have not expected. Now is the time for our eyes to be opened. Now is the time for our perspectives to be challenged. Now is the time for us to give up our way for God's way. Now is the time for authentic humility. Now is the time we must be sent with God's creative, miracle working power as agents of justice and peace."
Is there a dream in your heart that has been delayed? Often, God seems to take far longer than we would like for his promises to be fulfilled in our lives and in our world. In these moments, our faith is strengthened, deep-end and expanded. Romans 3 tells how Abraham faced the difficult facts about his situation without weakening in his faith. In fact his faith was strengthened and he powerfully encountered the God who had the power to do what he had promised. If you are in a season of delay or a time of waiting, this message will encourage you!!
Your situation may be critical. The people in charge may have failed you. You may be out of resources. You may feel alone. You may have lost your livelihood or your health, and you may be facing greater obstacles than ever before. In every situation, Scripture reminds us that NOTHING can hinder the Lord from saving! Whoever said "God will never give you more than you can handle" never read the Bible. Perhaps you've been there, overwhelmed, discouraged and completely at the end of yourself. You are not alone! "We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself... But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead." When you are Under Pressure, there is Resurrection Power! God may be allowing you to come to the end of yourself so that you can experience the power of the God who raises the dead!
What does Easter mean in the midst of a global pandemic? The good news is as good as it has ever been! Doctors tell us that antibodies from the blood of someone who suffered from a virus and recovered can be used to help others develop immunity! Jesus suffered the full weight of evil and sin and tasted death for all of us. Because of the blood of Jesus, we can live boldly, without fear, as we trust him, knowing that what he suffered gives us ultimate immunity from the powers of sin and death in the world! Easter means that Here, Now we can receive Salvation! Here, Now there is Grace for Transformation! Here, Now we have a Mission that matters!
Daily life has changed drastically for all of us over the past few weeks! Our plans have been interrupted and most of us are dealing with a reality we were not expecting. If God did not have our attention before, hopefully he does now! Roadblocks and detours require us to examine our priorities and to hear from God anew! In this message, rediscover what we each must get right in these moments of crisis and opportunity.
