Ever felt the gnawing emptiness of burnout creeping in? Ever wished you had the tools to help you navigate through this daunting experience, especially in the realm of ministry? Well, I was fortunate to sit down with Jason, who has walked this road, fought the fight and come out stronger on the other side. With more than two decades of local church leadership under his belt, Jason candidly shared his journey of highs, lows, recovery and his newly penned book that seeks to help others in the same predicament.

We delved into the nitty-gritty of burnout, identifying its signs, unmasking the hidden culprits, and stressing on the absolute necessity of self-reflection for reclaiming hope. With Jason's wisdom, we broke down the concept of boundaries as gates, not walls, and how these can serve as our protective barriers to keep our wellbeing intact. You'll hear from Jason on the power of saying 'No', setting healthy boundaries and how to keep the right people close.

As we drew towards the end, we tackled the often difficult process of relinquishing control, especially when scaling a business or ministry, and the integral part trust plays in this. Jason also drove home the importance of health within ministry leadership, even recommending a resource, 'Fearless Organization' by Amy Edmondson, that underpins this. So, why not give this enlightening discussion with Jason a listen? Learn how you can not only stave off burnout, but how to thrive and burn brightly in all avenues of your life.

Join us in this episode of Modern Church Leader as Tithely COO, Frank Barry, discusses the future of church innovation and ministry start-ups with Stephen Mulder of Missional Labs.

"We think the ministries that will shape the future of the Church haven’t been built yet.

You have a passion for Jesus and his kingdom, but you’re vocationally on the edges - not exactly a pastor, not quite a traditional missionary, and not quite a typical entrepreneur. You’ve got some “apostolic” vision and energy, but you don’t know where to go with it.

We would call you a pioneer - you’re probably in the intersection of pastoring, teaching, creating, and building, on the edges of media, tech, nonprofit, church planting, arts, and more.

You’re marked by the desire to see people encounter the Way of Jesus, and the sense that you’re meant to do something new.

Our accelerator is for you. We help you research, design, and build your ministry calling into a new venture that bridges the gap between the Gospel and the modern world."

The word “marketing” can be a tricky word in the church world.

The idea of selling and marketing a church or ministry like a product can feel off or irreverent.

On this episode of Modern Church leader, guest Alexa Acevedo is here to help reframe the way church leaders view marketing.

We all have our favorite products, foods, sports teams, and albums that we share and promote to our friends and family. Why should church look any different?

Alex is a firm believer that marketing is simply an extension of evangelism.

“Check your heart. Are you marketing this sermon series or this church event because you believe in the ministry, or are you doing it to get a personal gain out of it?”

Alex believes that “marketing” is just a word, but our intention behind our marketing is where the true testament lies. Church Marketing is a way to better support the ministries happening in your church.

“Ultimately we believe that an event we host will lead to a deeper spiritual connection for someone.”

Being the Communications Director at Transformation Church, Alex has seen how important it is for his department to be a supporting role to the pastoral staff. He encourages his team to be Spirit-led and to focus on the heart and mission of the church.

At the end of the day, whether we are the senior pastor, the digital strategist or the facilities manager, we are all called to do our best work to further the gospel of Jesus Christ.

By the end of this episode, you will learn:
✅ The importance of building a strong Communications Team
✅ How we should think differently about church marketing
✅ Which digital marketing strategies work for Transformation Church
✅ How the creative staff can support the pastoral staff

Every church leader wants to know the secret to making their church grow. Many churches put their efforts into finding a quotable preacher or investing thousands into the production quality of their services. Other churches start new ministries or expand their social media presence in hopes of reaching a new demographic.

Today’s guest, Peter Haas, is here to challenge the typical model of church leadership.

“Pastors spend all their energy on the wrong things.” - Peter Haas

In this episode, we will hear how Peter’s leadership model changed once he realized that there was more to church leadership than a fancy service production and preaching an awesome message on Sunday mornings.

Through a personal discipleship experience and reading several studies, Pastor Haas learned that the true key to getting people and keeping people in the church is friendship. A sermon can only go so far, and strobe lights and fog machines only last for the one hour a week people are behind church doors. But mid-week discipleship helps churches to actually make and keep disciples.

“10% of the population will jump into deeper circles of commitment on their own. But the other 90% are invited into maturity.” - Peter

Pastor Haas and the leadership team at Substance Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota have seen how this practice works firsthand. Through their own study, they have come up with three avenues that they believe have revolutionized the growth and connectedness of their church.

As church leaders, it is important to strive for excellence in all that we do, but we must be careful to not get lost in our performance as speakers or the production of our Sunday services. We must get back to the basics of discipleship and Spiritual Habit Formation in order to see true transformation in people.

By the end of this episode, you will learn:
✅ Peter’s 6 Levels of Objective Discipleship Metrics
✅ How to invite church-goers into discipleship
✅ How to train your small group leaders to build relationships
✅ How to make friends in church

When it comes to hiring, every church, company, and organization has a different approach to finding the perfect candidate. While there are some similarities between hiring for a secular job and a job in ministry, the overall process typically looks and feels different in the church. As today’s guest describes, “It can be backward from hiring a secular position”.

The process of hiring a pastoral position for your church can be strenuous for not only church staff, but for church members. The future of the community and the purpose of a local church is greatly determined by its senior leadership. Hiring a pastor should not be taken lightly.

As a church leader, it can be difficult to discern the best hiring move for your church’s culture and wellbeing. Thankfully, there are great churches and organizations that have paved the way to simplify the process.

Today’s guest, Dr. Chuck Morris, is here to give us some perspective from the role of Executive Pastor. He shares Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church’s thorough process for making sure their next pastoral candidates are equipped, informed, and properly vetted for success.

In this episode, we will cover…

  • Creating an Appropriate Job Description

  • Forming a Pastoral Search Committee

-Narrowing Down the Candidates

  • The Interview Process

  • Offering the Job

“Our lives speak loudly to those around us, especially the children in our home.” - Billy Graham

Teaching our children well and building a strong faith foundation in the home has never been more important than it is right now.

As parents, the magnitude and pressure of raising children can be daunting and overwhelming.

How do I know I’m parenting correctly?

How do I know I’m doing all we can to help my kids?

How can I make sure my children know Jesus?

If you are asking these questions, then you’re already doing something right, and our guest is here to give you some encouraging answers and helpful resources to move forward successfully.

In today’s episode of Modern Church Leader, we talk to Christian Consultant, Coach, and Author, Sarah Cowan Johnson. Sarah’s specialty is helping parents become spiritual leaders in the household and equipping churches to partner with parents along the journey.

As many of us know, statistics say that 50% of children will leave their Christian faith after graduating high school.

Sarah Cowan Johnson is determined to help you defeat those odds.

In her recent study, she found that there is a similar statistic with one very significant difference: “[For] parents who talk about and practice their faith in the home, 82% of their kids go on to follow Jesus as adults.” - Sarah Cowan Johnson

As parents, these numbers are too significant to overlook.

Through Sarah’s ministry, she is seeing firsthand how being intentional and involved in your child’s spiritual life at an early age can have a lasting impact as an adult.

“It’s a really simple behavior… it’s just talking about and practicing your faith at home.” - Sarah Cowan Johnson

In Sarah’s book, Teach Your Children Well, she provides multiple ways to incorporate age-appropriate spiritual practices into the everyday life of your children, how to start spiritual conversations, and how to engage your child in their faith journey.

“Filled with exercises and activities for families to do together, this handbook is an essential resource for discipling children with confidence and creativity.”

By the end of this episode, you will learn:
✅ Simple spiritual practices to incorporate into your home today
✅ Resources for raising your children in the faith
✅ Ways the church can begin partnering with parents
✅ Encouragement for parents who don’t know where to start

In the New Testament, Paul tells us about the constant challenges of the early church.

At the time, many Christians were oppressed and did not know the luxury of preference like we do now. Choosing a church based on music preference or preaching style did not exist.

Simply put, Christians of the first church went to the local gathering in their neighborhood.

Through the years, we have watched as church culture has evolved. From the early church in church homes to mid-evil, grand cathedrals to modern-day converted warehouses to church online - the topic of “what church should be” can quickly become a touchy subject.

But if we look back at the first church - the original church template - its mission is simple: Preach the Gospel. Make Disciples.

With flashy fads and trends as they are, do you find it challenging to stick to the mission of the original church as a modern church leader?

If your answer is ‘yes,’ you have come to the right place.

To better understand the call of the church, we sometimes have to take a step back and reevaluate. And most times, we will see that we need to think smaller to impact our community significantly.

Rev. Travis Norvell is the Senior Pastor of Judson Memorial Baptist Church in Minneapolis, MN, author of “Church on the Move,” and biking enthusiast.

Through a church-wide challenge, he has learned the value of thinking smaller for the greater impact of the church by selling his car and bicycling to work.

How does riding a bike impact the church?

Rev. Norvell’s philosophy is simple - by riding a bike or taking the city bus, you are allowed to take things slower and get to know the people around you.

By riding his bicycle every day, Rev. Norvell has gotten to know almost everyone living in a 5-mile radius of his church. He knows the local dog owners, the other cyclists in the neighborhood, and the regulars on the public transit. He has even begun providing his local radio station with a biker commute report each morning.

By changing a simple part of his daily routine, Rev. Norvell has started having conversations with people who had never heard of his church. And with some who had never been to church at all.

Through practical steps, Judson Memorial Baptist Church members are challenging themselves to stop thinking about trends and metrics and instead focus on loving thy neighbor.

By the end of this you will learn:

  • Practical ways to love your neighborhood
  • How thinking outside of the box is exactly what your church needs
  • When asking the right questions, you can unlock the heart of your community
  • How the church can start to think smaller

The church’s mission, vision, and values are the guiding principles that serve as a roadmap for the ministry’s future.

However, churches often find it difficult to express these three things in a clear, concise, and compelling way.

The lack of clarity around these three aspects can lead to frustration and confusion among leaders, staff, and congregants. This can lead to poor decision-making or even disagreements over how things should be done.

As a church leader, how can you create alignment on your church’s foundational elements?

The answer lies in having a proper evaluation process in place.

You need to evaluate where each aspect currently stands within your church culture and then work together to ensure that each has the necessary clarity and cohesiveness to communicate clearly and effectively across your church community.

To better understand how to assess if your church is on the right track with this process, we've invited Chirs Vacher, Church Advisor & Leadership Development Consultant, to share brilliant insights and key questions that will bring clarity on where you are going as a church and what steps you need to take next.

“I'm a huge proponent of clarity and inspiration. For me, those are the two ingredients if you want to actually accomplish the thing that you're setting out to do.”
-Chris Vacher

You must remember that your obedience to God matters most here. If you seek Him first and allow Him to guide your church in these areas, then you can make meaningful progress in growing your ministry.

If you're looking for guidance on approaching these important topics and ensuring that everyone in your church is on board with the direction of your ministry—this episode is for you!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • The ways to better communicate your church's vision
  • Insights for evaluating the church’s mission and vision
  • The importance of clarity in your church's vision
  • Why the church needs strategic vision & planning

Speaking across generations in the church is a challenge for many church leaders.

Different generations have different ways of communicating. In fact, it's not even just that they use different words or phrases—it's more about how they understand the world around them.

So, how do you reach such a diverse audience?

How can you convey your message in a way that resonates with everyone?

If you want to speak across generations, you need to understand their mindset, values, and interests so that you can speak their language.

No matter what generation you are speaking to—Gen Z, Millennials, Gen Xers, Boomers—there are certain things you can do to better connect with them on a deeper level.

All you need is some insight into the mindsets of each generation, as well as some practical tips for bringing those mindsets into your ministry practices.

With the help of our guest, Dr. Darrell Hall, we'll unpack how each generation thinks differently and how you can use that knowledge to create an environment where all generations feel welcome, included, and valued.

Dr. Darrell has authored a book titled Speaking Across Generation. So, it's a real treat to hear some insights from his research and experience on this subject.

"Whatever generation you're in, see yourself as a missionary to the generation you want to reach."
-Dr.Darrell Hall

It is important to remember that generational gaps should not prevent us from reaching out to people. After all, Jesus' message of love and acceptance transcends all generational divides.

In today's world, it's not just a matter of keeping up with technology anymore—it's a matter of being relevant and connected with people in ways that matter to them.

All organizations—religious or secular—should consider how technology can help them connect with their communities.

Some companies have done a great job of integrating technology into their business. Target is one of the best examples that uses technology to improve how people interact with its brand, increase the frequency of interactions, and better tailor its message to customers' needs.

If Target can do it without sacrificing what makes them unique or compromising its mission—so can the church.

Churches that use technology effectively are positioned to be more relevant and impactful in their communities, and this requires more than just posting content online or having a Facebook page. It must go beyond surface-level engagement to build relationships and impact people's lives.

Our guest, Nathan Artt, principal and founder of Ministry Solutions and Executive Leadership Solutions, joins us to elaborate on how we may take advantage of technological innovations to serve the community better.

He will also highlight some ideas presented in his ebook "Target Corp and the Flexible Church," which can help us rethink how we apply technology in the church.

"Our mission has not changed, but the way that we're reaching people and our methods have changed. I feel like the church of the future is the one who is going to be more in love with their mission than they are with their methods."
-Nathan Artt

Whether you're looking for ways to improve your ministry or are simply interested in learning more about how technology is changing how we do things at church, this episode is for you!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • The role of the digital platform in driving in-person engagement
  • The difference between convenience and relevance when it comes to using technology
  • How to get people back into the church building

Marketing is an art and a skill. It requires creativity, innovation, and an understanding of how to connect with people.

However, churches often overlook marketing as an important tool for the church’s success to reach people. That is why churches commit one of the biggest promotional mistakes by thinking that they're going to reach people by just having a good service.

But that's not enough anymore—if it ever was.

People are bombarded with messages every day, and if you don't have a compelling offer, then reaching them is going to be a real challenge.

That's why we've invited Christian Ray Flores, an award-winning marketing expert and co-founder of Third Drive Media, to share his insights on how you can make sure your marketing efforts are targeted and effective.

He'll also be sharing some of the transformative marketing principles that have helped churches all over the world. If you want to learn more about this, check out his course Transformative Church Marketing.

Finances and Christianity don't often go together in a statement.

Many Christians would say, 'there's no way you can talk about God when you also talk about money!' or 'Money is evil!' Worse, some would even go as far as exclaiming that mentioning God alongside money is blasphemous.

As a church leader, what can you do to help these Christians who share similar stories of stress and trouble with their finances?

Whatever your answer may be, the truth is that God wants us to live a life that honors Him while we also sow his blessings.

That is why in this episode, it's high time that we view financial stewardship and discipleship with open minds and hearts, for this helps us open the floodgates of heaven so that we may be blessed and can bless other people, too.

Follow along in our intimate conversation with John Pearce, a pastor, and a businessman, as we articulate a holistic approach to practicing financial stewardship.

This episode is inspired by our guest’s new book, The Wheels of Financial Blessing. All these and more will hopefully help you live financially blessed and generous lives as Christians.

"We know that if you can help people's financial worlds transform, that there's a massive flow into marriage, family, into generosity into the kingdom of God being advanced. So as a pastor, I take it as a pretty significant responsibility to look after financial discipleship as a key theme. I think just as we need to talk about marriage relationships, we need to talk about finances and provide biblical financial discipleship."
-John Pearce

If you want to alter the course of your Christian life and financial stewardship, this episode is an excellent place to start.

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • The different financial mindsets that are hindering you from growing
  • Why pastors should invest in financial discipleship and stewardship
  • The realities of the financial states for many Christians
  • Understanding the wheels of a balanced biblical approach to finances
  • How financial stewardship allows us to be more blessed by blessing others

Stewardship is a biblical concept that's been around since the beginning of time. It's a way of thinking about how we make decisions and use our resources, and it's at the heart of what we believe as Christians.

When it comes to churches, stewardship is crucial. A church can't survive if it doesn't have the resources to care for its congregation and staff members.

That means every decision about how the church spends its money must consider whether or not this particular choice will help us fulfill the church’s mission.

In the book of Acts, we see that the church was able to spread throughout the world because of the generous contributions of the believers. They were willing to give their money, time, and resources; in return, God used them to accomplish His mission.

As a church, it's our responsibility to think through the same questions: what does it mean to be generous with our resources, and how can we accomplish our mission while doing so?

One of the best ways to do that is by taking a closer look at the concept of stewardship.

Maybe you're already familiar with the concept of stewardship, but to hear it from an entrepreneur's perspective is one thing.

Our guest, Rylee Meek, an entrepreneur, author, and speaker, will share his experience building a thriving business while following God's calling on his life. He will also lay out the four kingdom money principles that churches can use to find their true source of financial strength.

“God owns everything, including the businesses that we own. And then, ultimately, we are stewarding that in. And the number one thing that we should do as an act of worship is tithing.”
-Rylee Meek

For your church to thrive and grow, it must be rooted in strong roots of good stewardship. This means establishing systems in place that allow for accountability and transparency across all levels of leadership. We really can't stress enough how valuable this conversation is, and we hope you'll tune in!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • The King’s Council’s mission
  • Why giving is an act of worship
  • Stewardship in the church
  • A biblical view of wealth and riches

Meta is here—the virtual world, the immersive digital environment. This is where you can walk around, feel like you’re in a real place, and interact with other people.

But is this an appropriate way to experience the church?

Is it in the same category as attending church in a physical location?

And if so, what can the church do to take advantage of this new way of connecting with people?

Many pastors and congregations are wrestling with these questions as they consider how to best use this technology to reach people. The answer isn’t easy.

The key is finding a way to make the spiritual and the practical work together to provide the best experience for the people in your congregation. And that’s where a digital strategy for your church comes in.

In this episode, we'll look at how you can take advantage of the unique possibilities that the metaverse can bring without losing sight of your ultimate goal— to grow your congregation's capacity to connect with God and one another.

Join us as we listen to Dave Adamson, a social media pastor, author, speaker, and content creator, as he explains what metaverse is and how you can use it to connect with people in meaningful ways.

He recently released his book MetaChurch: How to Use Digital Ministry to Reach People and Make Disciples, which makes him especially qualified to share how churches can use the metaverse technology to build capacity and engage the communities they serve.

“We can leverage online technology to literally meet together every single day. And so that's part of my philosophical, theological outlook of why “church online” is valid, and why it's something that we should be doing.”
-Dave Adamson

If you want to better understand how churches can use the metaverse, this episode is just what you need!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • How to use digital ministry to reach more people
  • What does the metaverse mean for your church
  • How in-person ministry and online ministry complement each other
  • Discipleship strategies that leverage online and offline tools

For many people, the idea of church growth sounds like a pipe dream. They think it's something that happens by chance or only when God allows it.

But guess what? Church growth is actually quite simple: Reach more people and disciple them. The problem is that this formula doesn't just magically happen on its own—you have to work to make it happen. And it's not always an easy process.

If you're going through the motions every week without making any sort of progress, maybe it's time to make a few tweaks to your current strategy or look into some new ideas that might help get your church growing again.

There are many different ways to approach the process of growing your church; however, there are just as many different opinions about what works best for each organization. Some ideas may seem counterintuitive at first glance but actually produce amazing results once appropriately implemented.

Canvas Church in Kalispell, Montana, is an excellent example of how churches can grow through an intentional, strategic, and sustainable approach to making their community and church bigger and better.

If you're interested in how they did it, you will absolutely want to listen to Kevin Geer, lead pastor of Canvas Church, share how they attained this phenomenal growth. Now that they've seen success with this model, he wanted to share some of their top tips with you so that you can do something similar!

“We're working so hard to keep 99 people happy, but we lose the one. And there's more joy in heaven over the one .”
- Kevin Geer

Many strategies work well for each church, and with some effort and planning, you can implement any of them. Knowing which methods work best for your specific needs will require some trial and error (and potentially some hard work), but hopefully, this episode will give you a place to start!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • Proven strategies for effective church growth
  • How they grew their church from 500 to over 4000 members
  • How to revitalize a church
  • The ways churches can be more welcoming
  • How to connect with and reach the millennials

One of the most critical factors in the success of a church is finding the right leaders. When a congregation has a leader who fits into their culture, they can grow and thrive.

And if a leader doesn’t fit into that culture, things can go south very quickly.

Having someone who fits in well with your congregation is crucial to maintaining harmony within your church community and ensuring growth over time.

As a church, you may have given a lot of thought to how to find the best candidates for your church’s leadership positions. Finding and hiring good leaders is a time-consuming and difficult process, especially for smaller congregations.

That's why a church staffing agency can be a valuable resource for churches.

Having an agency in place to help you find qualified leaders will save you time, energy, and resources while keeping your focus on what matters most: making sure your church is growing and being spiritually nourished.

This is exactly what Slingshot Group does. They believe that when finding good leaders for churches, there's no substitute for personal relationships.

That's why they work with each client one-on-one to help them find the right fit for their team members—and not just by asking questions like "What are your goals?" or "What do you want this person to accomplish?" but most importantly by asking, "Who is this person?"

With that, we are super excited to have the CEO of Slingshot Group, Tim Foot, join us on this episode to share his insights on church leadership and how churches can make better hires through more personalized processes.

When God aligns the mission, and the leader's unique wiring, with the organization's vision and mission, there’s nothing better than that.
-Tim Foot

Having a well-staffed church is critical to the ongoing success of your church. If you feel you could benefit from some advice on this topic, listen in!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • How your church can make better hires
  • How the church is dealing with the Great Resignation
  • Relationship fundamentals for better church leadership
  • How to find leaders that fit your church culture

It's no secret that ministry is a demanding task with a lot of pressure on the shoulders. The hours are long, the expectations are high, and the emotional toll can be incredibly draining.

If you are a pastor or a church leader, it is very important to recognize the signs of burnout and get help if needed. It is important to remember that you're human too and not immune to burnout.

With the right support and encouragement, you can overcome these feelings and achieve a balance that can lead to a more fulfilling ministry.

The Bible tells us that we must seek the face of God so we can truly love and serve him. This doesn't mean you'll never feel low or blue — it means that God's grace is a constant source of strength, and we shouldn't underestimate the importance of taking a spiritual breather.

In this episode, our guest, Michael MacKenzie, a licensed professional counselor, and ordained pastor, will speak on the topic of burnout, as well as how to recognize and overcome it. He'll also share practical tips for getting back on track and finding balance.

“I love getting to work with people in ministry. They're just great folks who are willing to sacrifice for the kingdom and serve and yet, at the same time, take on things that they don't need to take on.”
-Michael Mackenzie

If you're a pastor or a leader, you will find this powerful and inspirational episode to be a vital tool in helping you overcome the challenges of burnout.

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • The ways pastors can take care of their mental health
  • How to spot mental health red flags
  • How to deal with burnout
  • What Michael realized through serving pastors and ministry leaders
  • Marble Retreat programs that can help pastors recover and thrive again in ministry

Church revitalization is one of the most common topics of conversation in religious circles, but there has been little agreement on how to revive declining churches.

It's not always easy to understand why some churches thrive while others struggle or what exactly it means for a church to be "revitalized."

But there is one thing we can say with certainty: when churches experience true revitalization, it's because they make their communities feel loved and valued. They make people feel like they are a part of something bigger than themselves, and that their lives matter.

This kind of love-based community engagement could help any church experience revitalization—but it takes an intentional effort from leadership.

Sometimes it means reaching out to the community in new and innovative ways, and sometimes it simply means being more present and engaging with people where they are already.

No matter what, it's important to remember that revitalization is not about changing or fixing people. It's about coming alongside them, building relationships, and helping them grow into their fullest potential. When churches make this kind of impact, they can experience true revitalization.

In this episode, our guest Cody Evans, who serves as the Preaching and Vision Pastor at Covenant Hope, will discuss how he’s able to bring this kind of devotion to his community, and even though it wasn't easy at first, he’s now seeing benefits from his efforts.

“I know that people aren't coming to Covenant Hope because I'm a great preacher. That's not why people are coming. We don't have cool stuff. We have an old church building that we're trying to take care of and steward well. We just want to be a church in the community for the community.”
-Cody Evans

At the core of all successful churches is the love and service they offer to their community. So, if you’re looking to revitalize your church or just want to have a better understanding of what it really means, this episode will give you some great insights!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • How they replanted Covenant Hope Church in 2018

Church leadership can be hard enough. Uniting different personalities and skillsets into a single vision is not easy.

But there is an even bigger mountain to climb when you factor in gender dynamics—and the need to create an inclusive culture that both embraces and nurtures female leaders

When we talk about nurturing female leaders in the church, this means creating an environment where they feel empowered to take on leadership roles and feel comfortable doing so. In other words: we want them to be able to express their gifts without fear or hesitation.

While the Bible does not explicitly address the issue of gender equality within leadership, it does call for us to treat one another as equals in Christ (Galatians 3:28).

It's important to note that God has called each of us into service, whether we're male or female, and that means that our churches need to do all they can to cultivate opportunities for women to serve, lead, and influence.

In this episode, Kadi Cole, a veteran in leadership and people development, talks about what it means for women in leadership roles and how this relates to the church's mission.

“We all want the body to be healthy and strong, and everybody loves and values women. We just have to be clear on how we're leading our cultures to make sure we're inviting women to the tables we want them to be at, that we're helping everyone, men and women, discover their gifts and live out their calling.”
-Kadi Cole

If you're looking for strategies for encouraging women to step up in leadership, then this episode is for you!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • How to help women reach their leadership potential
  • How women can find their leadership voice

Church leaders have long known the power of storytelling to communicate biblical truths, engage people’s hearts, and invite them into a relationship with God. But what is it about storytelling that makes it so effective?

The answer: stories don’t just communicate facts; they communicate truths.

A fact can be disputed, but truth cannot. And since we all want to live in alignment with truth, we find ourselves drawn in by stories that reveal truths about our own lives and God.

When leaders use storytelling, they are tapping into a powerful way to engage people’s hearts and minds. Storytelling can help people understand and remember what they hear, making it an effective tool for teaching and discipleship.

Most importantly, no matter what kind of story leaders tell, it is important that they aim for authenticity. Stories are more powerful when they are grounded in truth.

To know more about using storytelling effectively, we're joined by Robert Carnes, a storytelling expert who has experience in business and ministry contexts. He will share the process he uses to write and tell stories that resonate with audiences.

“The good news is every person has a story. And because churches are made up of people, your church has stories. You just have to start looking for them.”
-Robert Carnes

If you're a leader who wants to learn how to use stories to build relationships, motivate audiences, and make an impact, this is a great chance to learn from an expert.

Pastors have many important responsibilities in their role as spiritual leaders.

One of the most important but often overlooked is that of a shepherd. This is an ancient metaphor that is still true and powerful today.

Shepherding is more than just preaching and leading church services. It's also about caring for the spiritual and emotional needs of the congregation.

For pastors to effectively lead their congregations, they must first learn what it means to be led by the Good Shepherd. Jesus speaks about Himself as the Good Shepherd and how His sheep follow Him because they know His voice.

It's a beautiful analogy of how we are to be led by Jesus--with trust and faith that He knows what is best for us. So likewise, pastors must first learn what it means to be led by the Good Shepherd before they can shepherd God's people well.

In this podcast episode, we’ll explore the shepherd’s role as a pastor with our guest Tom Nelson, the Senior Founding Pastor of Christ Community Church. With his insights and expertise, you'll have a roadmap to follow on your journey to pastoral leadership.

“The most important part of any servant leader's life is to be led well, by Jesus. We need to have a deep passion and priority to seek intimacy with Jesus and be His apprentice. That's the foundation of everything.”
-Tom Nelson

Listen in and discover what it means to be a good shepherd and how you can be more effective at leading your congregation to Jesus.

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • Why leaders are called to be shepherds
  • How to start and grow a church
  • Ways that help pastor flourish
  • Why servant leadership matters

The world is full of political disagreements, and those disagreements will inevitably find their way into the church.

But here's the thing—politics by itself doesn't cause division. Instead, it’s our reaction to differences in political opinions that can cause division.

We need to remember that politics is not our identity. We are not Americans or Republicans or Democrats or liberals or conservatives—we are Christians. We should never let our political views define us or make us feel like less of a person because we have different beliefs than someone else does.

To get a more in-depth perspective, we’re honored and thrilled to have Pastor Andy Stanley, founder and senior pastor of North Point Ministries, share some great insights on this subject. In this episode, we'll learn from him what it means to be a Christian in today's political climate and how we can best approach the topic in our churches and communities.

We'll also hear from Pastor Andy about his recently released book, Not in It to Win It, which will give us a deeper understanding of politics through the lens of faith.

“If we can't be mature enough to have relationships with people who don't see the world the same way we do, we're never going to learn anything. I've learned how to get along and navigate relationships with all those people because I have an agenda. And that is, to win some”
-Andy Stanley

If you want to learn how leaders approach this complex issue in a manner that builds healthy relationships, creates godly communities, and strengthens the Kingdom of God, then tune in!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • How to approach politics without dividing the church
  • How pastors can handle political diversity
  • How to deal with people leaving your church over politics
  • How leaders can navigate politicized conversations
  • What happens when a pastor gets political
  • Ways to influence your child toward Christ

The role of a Christian leader is both challenging and rewarding. Those in leadership positions are tasked with guiding others spiritually while upholding biblical principles. In order to be effective leaders, Christians must develop a servant’s heart and be willing to put the needs of others before their own.

If you are a leader, you need to remember that people are influenced by your example, actions, and faith. Your impact grows stronger because of your commitment to God and your love for others. It requires daily surrender and sacrifice, but it’s worth it. The power of your words and actions will touch others and create a ripple effect that will ultimately last for generations.

In this episode, we are so blessed to be joined by the CEO of World VISION, Richard Stearns. Richard believes Christian leaders are called to be different because their leadership serves as a testament to the reality of the gospel message.

“You may be a pastor and think you've already surrendered. But surrender is a daily thing. You've got to surrender your church growth, you've got to surrender your church giving, you've got to surrender your sermons, and just say, ‘Lord, not my will, but Thy will. Help me to stay faithful and be the kind of leader you want me to be.’”
-Richard Stearns

Church marketing can be a tricky thing. It's easy to cross the line from effective promotion to cheesy pandering. But when done well, church marketing can play a powerful role in attracting new worshippers and growing the congregation.

There are many different aspects of church marketing, from advertising and public relations to social media and website design. Whatever tactics are employed, what matters most is that the church's promotional efforts are genuine and impactful.

The challenge for church leaders is to find the correct balance between using church marketing to create this meaningful relationship and the appropriate cost and time commitment required to achieve this.

In this episode, we sit down with the Director of Communication and Strategy of Ready Set Grow, Pastor Kelvin Co. He will discuss how relationship building is a key component in church marketing and how it relates to any church's overall mission and purpose.

“All of these communication, technology, production tools are all simply vehicles to accomplish one thing only. Pastors are called to shepherd a community. A pastor is called to a community, and all of these tools are simply to facilitate that shepherding relationship.”
-Kelvin Co

Hopefully, you will walk away with some ideas for your church and a fresh perspective on church marketing.

The rise of secularism has created a unique challenge for Christians.

How do we share the gospel in a way that is both authentic and understandable in a post-Christian world?

Evangelism in a post-Christian world requires a different approach, one that takes into account the changing spiritual landscape.

It doesn't mean compromising or watering down the gospel. Instead, it means that we need to find creative ways to communicate its timeless truths so that people can understand and accept the gospel more fully.

In this episode, we're thrilled to be joined by the National Director of Alpha Canada, Shaila Visser. Shaila has been instrumental in helping churches see the need to take a fresh approach to evangelism and has also helped churches understand their community better.

“Post-Christian culture needs to have an encounter with God. It's not just us doing the speaking, listening, the film series, teaching. It is about leaving room for encounter because that's how the vast majority of people come to faith.”
-Shaila Visser

We hope that this episode has given you some ideas on how you can share the gospel in a way that is relevant to your community today and ignite a desire in others to know Jesus as their Savior.

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

The phrase “bigger is better” does not always apply, especially when it comes to the church. Just because a congregation is small does not mean it cannot make a big impact.

In fact, many times, the small churches have the biggest impact due to their close-knit community and focus on relationships. Often, these churches are the ones that survive the test of time. This is because they are the ones that are rooted in the community and are not afraid to get involved.

Being small is not a problem. The problem is how you can use your size to be as impactful as possible. How do you create an influence that is greater than your size?

In this episode, we'll give you a peek into the life of a healthy small church in Orange County, California. They are not your typical small church, but they do things uniquely and wonderfully. Their pastor, Karl Vaters, will give us insight into how they are able to make a big impact in the lives of their people and the community.

“My question is if your church disappeared tomorrow, would a segment of your community miss you? There ought to be somebody you're impacting to the degree that they'd miss you if you disappeared. My first piece of advice on that to small church pastors is we have to impact our community.”
-Karl Vaters

How Serving Together Can Bring Unity in the Church

A church can be a great place to find comfort and build relationships, but sometimes the differences in our experiences and perspectives get in the way.

So, how do we come together as one?

The answer is simple: Serve together.

When we serve others, we automatically come closer as a whole. We are no longer just individuals who happen to attend the same church. Instead, we become one body working together to fulfill God’s purpose.

Serving others reminds us of the mission of our church and what we are called to do. The bonds we form in service can transcend social, racial, and economic differences and help us to become a unified body of believers.

In this episode, let's learn from pastor Will Archer's examples and practical steps of serving together as a church. This is a great way to have a deeper understanding of how we can serve more effectively as a church and find growth and unity in the body of Christ.

"When we got here, a big part of the heart of the church was to serve the community. And we have seen how the Holy Spirit has really helped us to grow in the desire to learn from other people, engage with other people, live out what we would say. So it is a kind of a "cruciformed" approach, that we extend our arms to those on the right, as much as we do to those on the left."
-Will Archer

If you are looking for ways to strengthen your church and help it become a strong community of believers, serving together is an idea you will find helpful. Check out this podcast and let go of old ideas that keep you from leading your church into new and more fulfilling ways of serving together!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • Why serving together matters
  • How churches can engage with their communities
  • Why church leaders should have a clear vision for their ministry
  • Pastor Will's recollection of his conversion from Islam to Christianity
  • Strategies for improving online small groups

As the church is trying to recover from the pandemic, many church leaders are asking how they can lead people back to serving.

The answer is simple: Amid the uncertainty, we need to return to the basics of discipleship and service. By doing so, we will show people the power of community and the joy of serving others.

Perhaps we have forgotten to emphasize that serving others is also serving God. And when they serve the Lord, they are fulfilling their purpose. We have spent far too much time telling people what to do and far too little time teaching them why they should care about serving others.

It's in the service of others that we find our greatest joy and our deepest purpose. It's in the service of others that we find our greatest fulfillment.

In this episode, our guest Shawn Wood, the Lead Pastor of Freedom Church, will take us through the practical ways to motivate people to serve others. He will also talk about the pandemic's impact on the church and how leaders can use this as an opportunity to step up, serve, and lead people in the right direction.

“When you're doing what God has called you to do, you don't need a lot of other motivation. If we can get people in that position, where they're being fed by the fact that they're doing what God has asked them to do, then then they're going to show up anyway.”
-Shawn Wood

The church is beginning to reflect the diversity of the world around it.

Though this may seem like a daunting reality, it provides an incredible opportunity for the church to continue growing and thriving.

It's a chance for the church to take a more strategic approach to the changes and advance its mission—and church planting is a critical part of this approach. While it is not the only way to do this, it is vital to a church’s growth.

The new age of globalization, where our world is becoming more diverse and our culture is becoming more global, necessitates the church to focus on reaching the cultural boundaries that are differentially impacted by these changes.

In this episode, we are excited to hear from Pastor Sam Collier, who recently launched a church in Atlanta, GA, called Story Church. He will share a glimpse into how this church began and his vision for how the church will grow. He will also speak about the significance of multiculturalism in the church's growth.

“We think different, we come from different backgrounds, but we learn to celebrate what we do agree on.”
-Sam Collier

Church planting is a huge undertaking, so this is a great place to start if you're wondering where to begin!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • A little background on Sam's journey as a pastor
  • What it takes to plant a church in such a challenging time
  • The roles of the pastor in church planting
  • Why understanding culture helps us fulfill the Great Commission
  • Some principles for understanding multicultural churches

Churches have come a long way online. With sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, churches can now be just as effective online as they are in person. In fact, many churches use online outreach more effectively than they do in person.

When social media first came on the scene, pastors and church leaders mainly used it to share sermons, promote upcoming events, and share inspirational quotes. However, as more people joined the social media world, the platforms began to be used for a broader array of purposes.

The social media arsenal has grown since podcasts, blogs, and vlogs were introduced, and now churches are finding more and more creative ways to use social media to build their church community and spread the gospel.

Churches with the most success online are the most creative and the ones that are willing to experiment. Through failing, learning, and adjusting, churches can grow and become even more effective online.

This episode features a chat with the "vlogging pastor" and the Lead Pastor of Passion Creek Church in Arizona, Trey Van Camp. He will be sharing specific strategies for using social media to further the ministry of a church and providing some helpful advice for those churches that are just starting out in digital space.

“It's the storytelling; how do you grab their attention? How do you bring them to Jesus? That is what I'm passionate about.”
-Trey Van Camp

Trey comes from a fourth generation of pastors. He received his Bachelor's degree in Applied Theology from California Baptist University, where he graduated summa cum laude and received the "Applied Theology Award." Trey is happily married to Jordan. They have three children: Faith Karis, Selah Ruth, and Trinity Rose.

This will be a great opportunity to hear more about what Trey is doing at Passion Creek Church and learn how to effectively use social media for the growth of your church.

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • Why online presence matters to churches
  • How churches can improve their online presence
  • How to repurpose sermon content online
  • How to use vlogging to grow your church
  • Pastor Trey vlog's story structure (attention, intervention, invitation)
  • The importance of storytelling in vlogging
  • Effective social media strategies
  • Technical tips on vlogging

In a culture that is increasingly shifting away from biblical values, it can be challenging to invite children to know Jesus. Any outreach toward children must carefully consider the unique needs of a child's faith journey.

We must go beyond simply preaching the gospel. We must intentionally equip children to be resilient and passionate disciples of Christ. If we are going to reach children truly, then we need to look at what that means and begin thinking about ways to accomplish this goal.

“Children's ministry can mean a lot of things…But disciple-making is a specific target. It's a specific mission that's designed to help make disciples, and so that's important because we're now living in a very different world than we were 20, 30, 40 years ago. And so the level of missional focus we need with our own kids to reach them and to disciple them is really significant."
-Matt Markins

In this episode, Matt Markins, President of Awana ministry, will share valuable insights on engaging children and what children are looking for in a church setting in today's world. Matt will also share practical ways churches can move out of traditional structures to make authentic connections with children.

Take part in this exciting discussion and learn new ways to connect with the church's future leaders!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • How to help children grow in their faith and become lifetime disciples
  • How to disciple children in a post-Christian culture
  • Difference between children's ministry and child discipleship
  • The key factors that children need to thrive in this culture
  • Family discipleship strategies
  • Awana curriculum and discipleship resources

Co-pastoring is commonly done but often not talked about.

It's a responsibility that can be challenging, life-changing, and rewarding all at the same time. This is especially true if you are just getting started with your church from the ground up.

So what does it take to succeed in co-pastoring a new church?

As with any relationship, communication is the key. They have to be willing to discuss everything, big or small, no matter how uncomfortable it may be. Most importantly, they must have a clear vision for the church and work harmoniously together.

In this episode, we’ll learn from two men of God, Jim Johnson, and Paul Basden, who, like Paul and Peter, obeyed God's calling by planting a church and serving alongside each other. They will share their story about how they got started together as co-pastors, what it takes to plant a new church, and provide some insight into how they work together.

“We have a very similar doctrinal background. It's been a real blessing, and it's worked out beautifully. I think the church has benefited from it.”
-Jim Johnson

If you are looking for inspiration from these seasoned pastors, tune in to this episode!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • Strategies to plant a church
  • Ways co-pastors can share the responsibility of leading a church
  • What co-pastors can learn from their differences
  • How co-pastoring can help fill each other's weaknesses
  • How to make your church appealing to young families
  • Jim’s and Paul’s writing ministry, 365 Discipleship

When a challenging situation arises, the church leaders must know how to handle it biblically and effectively.

In some cases, the need to navigate through the crisis is an opportunity to reevaluate and refine the ministry's vision. Other times, a crisis can be a blessing, propelling the church to grow and develop in new directions.

The bottom line is that leaders must recognize the opportunity, accept the challenge, and plan their response.

In this episode, we'll be talking with experts who have been there and done that. Frisco Bible Church Executive Pastor Andy Sipes and his wife, Student Ministry Director Summer Sipes, will break down for us some of the specific ways that leaders can effectively navigate through crisis.

"The Lord is the one who's guiding our ministry. It takes the pressure off of us to be able to let Him lead. The fear of failure is removed when that happens."
-Summer Sipes

You can be sure that this episode will be packed full of great information for anyone who wants to know what it takes to keep their church strong during tough times. So don't miss out on this opportunity – listen now!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

The church has long been a hub for musicians of every style and genre, from piano and organ players to violinists and guitar players. So why not use the gift of music to the fullest?

Creating music is an opportunity to edify the believers, to build them up in the faith. It unites us as one body in Christ and gives us more freedom to express our gifts and talents than any other form of ministry.

In this podcast, we will be hearing from Broward Church Evangelist Tony Fernandez about how their music compositions edify the church and help people connect with God on a deeper level. Aside from that, he will share with us how music has served as a tool in expressing what their church has been through and how God has remained faithful throughout the church's various seasons.

“One of the things that is important from my own Christianity is the true fact that I worship a creator. I'm born in his image, and I was formed from the dust to be a creator.”
-Tony Fernandez

Spend some time with us on this podcast and learn more about how to create effective worship experiences in your church!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • How to engage your congregation in worship
  • How music forms and reflects the culture
  • A deep dive into the lyrics of “Words of Life”
  • The four levels of song production
  • Marketing the worship album like an indie band

Christian counseling is a fast-growing discipline, but this growth has not been without controversy.

There is an idea floating around which tells us we cannot combine faith with mental health treatment. However, this can't be true because Jesus Himself was known for caring deeply about those dealing with emotional issues.

Church leaders should know how much stigma still surrounds counseling and offer resources without creating an additional barrier for those who need it most.

Our guest, Aaron Armstrong, Senior Pastor at Dallas Bible Church, will provide you with everything you need to know about adding a biblical counseling component to your ministry.

"I've been a big proponent of counselors for a number of years. You need people outside of yourself to be able to speak the truth, hold you accountable, care for you, and help you ask questions that you can’t ask yourself.”
-Aaron Armstrong

This is an opportunity for you to become familiar with biblical counseling and how it can benefit your ministry!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • How church leaders can reduce the stigma of counseling
  • How to promote biblical counseling at church
  • Why do pastors need a counseling community
  • The reasons to include counseling in the church
  • How churchwide vulnerability and honesty promotes renewal
  • The pastor support group that Aaron participates in
  • Acknowledging grief and sadness while recognizing the sufficiency of God

When it comes to attracting millennials to church, many churches are at a loss. This is because the traditional methods of outreach do not appeal to this younger generation.

The problem isn’t that churches don't know how to reach out to millennials, it's that they're not using the right approach.

Millennials are looking for something different in their spiritual lives. They want authenticity and community, but they also want freedom from what feels like an imposed faith.

Having said that, what methods would you use to make the gospel more relatable to them?

“Is the message that we are really teaching, is it something that's reaching our people? And if it's not, then maybe we should make a concerted effort to really reach younger people.”
-Tony Hernandez

If you want your church to be relevant and attractive to millennials, then just hang in there as we listen to Tony Fernandez, Evangelist at Broward Church, as he shares the things we can do to start connecting with millennials on a deeper level.

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • How to create a church culture that makes it easier to reach millennials
  • Some ways to preach to millennials
  • Strategies for increasing the engagement of millennials
  • How to optimize the organizational structure for growth

If you're seeking creative ways to connect with millennials, then you'll definitely find some helpful ideas here!

Today's churches require a more dynamic approach to decision-making and leadership, one that touches on both financial accountability and transparency.

A crisis like the pandemic has forced many churches to reevaluate their financial policies, financial transparency, and accountability. It has not only required the church and local leaders to shift gears and be more responsive to the needs of the church and local communities but has also helped them see that financial management is a priority that needs to be given the attention it deserves.

In this podcast, we will introduce you to research, best practices, and the necessary tools for helping your church keep its financial integrity and accountability.

We are honored to have Dr. Warren Bird, Director of Research and Intellectual Capital Support for Leadership Network and the Vice President of Research and Equipping at the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) to share some of his expertise and provide practical solutions to help you keep a close eye on the financial health of your church.

“I can tell you from other studies, the more involved you are in your church, the more you give well, and it makes sense. If I'm a greeter, if I'm part of a small group, if I'm very involved, my heart is absolutely there, and so is my wallet. ”
-Dr. Warren Bird

This is a must-listen for church leaders and it is guaranteed to help you set up a healthy budget and financial plan for the future of your church!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • The overview of ECFA church giving reports for 2019 (pre-pandemic), 2020 (pandemic), and 2021 (lingering pandemic)
  • ECFA resources and tools to help improve financial integrity and accountability
  • Digital giving options
  • How to encourage faithful giving in your church

It is a common perception that churches with effective leaders have more unity among the members. If the pastor performs a poor job of keeping the congregation together, the church will not function as a whole. This is not an easy task. It requires great wisdom, sensitivity, and temperament to withstand the inevitable internal conflicts in a church.

Sometimes you will have to encourage people to come to the table and work out issues together. Sometimes you will have to step in and mediate. These are all parts of the balance you need to strike to lead a church through divisions.

With this in mind, how do you cultivate unity in your congregation?

This is a difficult question, but the key is to balance sensitivity, humility, and leadership and recognize when to step in and when to step back. There is no easy answer, but many people who have successfully led churches through divisions have gained wisdom and insight through the process.

To elaborate on this, we are pleased to have Pastor Robert Lane who will be speaking at length about this important topic. We are blessed to gain insights from pastors who have navigated the challenges of leading through division.

“Be a leader who shows what it is that we're supposed to be representing. No one's going to be in unity if the leader is not walking with that as well.”
-Rob Lane

It is time we let go of our divisions that have grown up in the church and work as a unified body of Christ. We have a responsibility to shepherd the flock in unity and the knowledge of the truth. We cannot let divisions get in the way of this goal!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • How to encourage unity in the church
  • How to resolve disagreements in your church
  • How corporate prayer has contributed to the expansion of community outreach
  • Ways to use technology to grow your church
  • And so much more…

Reaching people is a primary goal of any church.

How can we reach people both inside and outside the church walls by using resources that are specifically designed for them?

Having the right resources is essential for making an impact in the church. Whether you're looking to start a new ministry or support an existing one, these resources can help.

In this episode, John Craft, Regional Executive Director of the Rocky Mountain Church Network, will shed some light on maximizing ministry resources to have the most significant impact. He believes that we need to think about what resources we have that can help the church become more relevant and impactful.

“I am not convinced the church is for a bunch of believers to hang out in the same room together. We need to do whatever we can to reach people with the gospel.” - John Craft

If you are interested in learning more about maximizing church resources, don’t miss all the valuable insights waiting for you on this podcast!

Leadership entails cultivating a culture of community inside and outside the church walls.

I'm sure you know how important it is for your church community to develop a sense of belonging and connection. It's time to use an approach to change your church into a place of transformation and genuine community.

Willie Dwayne, the senior pastor at Mount Zion in Houston, TX, will be joining us on this episode to discuss his insights on how we may foster a sense of community in our church.

“If you can accept your pastor in jeans and a T-shirt, then that creates space for so many other people who don't have disposable shoe wear, shoes for particular types of dresses...It was really a way of cutting through the kind of class barriers that I think separated our church from the actual city that we live in.”
-Willie Dwayne Francois III

On this podcast, you'll discover more about Willie's journey as he leads his congregation toward genuinely being one body, encouraging and holding each other accountable as they grow in their faith. I hope you can join us and get something significant out of this conversation!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • How to cultivate a healthy church culture
  • The church's role as a member of the community
  • How to make your church's spiritual influence felt outside of its four walls
  • How to create community across generations and class

Most churches will eventually find themselves facing the question of whether to take on debt.

Should you borrow money to grow your church?

How can you decide if that's right for your church?

Yes, we understand that the question of whether to take on debt is a big one.

When it comes to a church's mission or projects, debt is not necessarily harmful. It has the potential to assist the church in its progress. However, it is crucial to understand that the Bible does not advise every church to go out and take out a slew of debts to fund their mission.

“Growth could be numbers. It could be an impact. It can be different things."
-Nathan Elson

On this podcast, we're bringing Nathan Elson, an expert from this perspective, to help us unpack this concept. He will walk us through the steps so that when all is said and done, you can make an informed decision about whether or not taking on debt makes sense for your congregation!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • The financial considerations involved in borrowing money
  • The indications of a financially stable church
  • How to know if your church is ready for a loan
  • A financing ministry that provides payment options to churches

How Do You Shepherd Your Church in Times of Crisis?

To be a shepherd means that, as a pastor, you are responsible for guiding your flock, feeding the sheep God has given you, and tending to the needs of the people under your care.

But how do you manage all of these responsibilities when everything seems so overwhelming due to the pandemic's many changes?

For someone called by God to shepherd others, it requires a great deal of strength and patience. As a pastor or church leader, it is your responsibility to remain faithful and endure, no matter how difficult the path may seem at the time.

“ It's up to the Lord; it's His harvest. We just want to be people that have the framework built so that we're ready to receive that harvest.”
-Jeremy McGarity
On this podcast, we'd like you to take advantage of the opportunity to hear from Dr. Jeremy McGarity as he shares their ministry strategies and how they flourish even in a post-pandemic era.

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

  • The ways your church can thrive in the face of a pandemic

Berean Baptist was named one of the Top 10 Fastest Growing Churches by Outreach Magazine, and like most churches during this season, they have been forced to move all of their services online. But that hasn't slowed them down. Today, we're talking with Executive Pastor Tony Manning from Berean Baptist Church about how they've navigated the topic of giving and generosity during the COVID-19 Outbreak.

In this conversation we'll touch on 3 things Pastor Manning and Berean Baptist have focused on over the past few months:

Understanding people's financial burdens during the outbreak

Ensuring communication is clear & packed with empathy, compassion, and love

Keeping tithing & generosity in the conversation

Providing easy to use online giving solutions

Join us as we talk about the reality of doing church from home during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic with Pastors and church leaders who are serving in the trenches. We’ll dig into what this means for churches of all sizes -- How it’s impacting the local church financially, spiritually, culturally, and relationally. And we’ll unpack practical advice you can put to work immediately. www.tithely.com
