It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know how forming good habits is key to having a more fulfilled life. Today let’s pour of cup and coffee and talk about how identity-based habits can be so much more effective in helping us move toward who we choose to be. A shout out goes to James Clear and his book “Atomic Habits.”
Are you a dependable person? We usually think about this in relation to are we a person others can depend on. But can you depend on yourself? Let’s look at the ramifications of this important question and how the answer can affect us internally in our daily lives. Sounds like an ideal coffee conversation.
Sometimes we let other’s opinions of ourselves override what we believe we are capable of doing. This can cause us to doubt ourselves and limit our abilities. Let’s realize this and work on what really matters today over a cup of coffee.
Things will always get into the way of your progress. Sometimes the obstacles are small and sometimes and they are larger. Seems like a huge negative but it doesn’t have to be. Let’s turn those stumbling blocks into building blocks today around over a cup of coffee today.
Today we are going to discuss gratitude. And I’d like you to consider a bit of a different take on this. With the New Year we are always looking to change for the better (hopefully). And sometimes the reason we want to change begins with negative thoughts and emotions which can be a drag on our attempt to change. So how does gratitude help us in that? Let’s talk about it over coffee.
Your perception of yourself should not change based on how someone else looks at you. Let's talk about this one over a cup of coffee this morning. Thank you for listening and please don't forget to subscribe if you like what you hear.
This is an important podcast that I invite you to devote your full attention. In fact, it would be great if you grabbed a pen and paper, or opened notes on your computer and recorded a few thoughts. Throughout our lives we are shaped by conditioned responses. Some are necessary and positive while other we negatively bind on ourselves. How do we discover the difference and make things better? Let’s grab a cup of coffee and share a few thoughts.

Today we talk about relationships and the endowment effect. The endowment effect is the feeling that what I have is mine and it will always be so. It’s comforting in some situations but toxic when it comes to relationships.
Today we’re going to talk about decision making. And part of that is understanding what part emotion plays in the process - for better or worse. How do we get past that. I’ve got some tips for you today.
I reading a book called Groundhog Day by Paul Hannam. It relates to the movie of the same name. Today I’d like to share with you thoughts from the book including the wisdom of breaking out of destructive repetitious behavior patterns and taking time to establish personal priorities.

There are moments, times and places, where we find ourselves occupied by our entire brain. We are present in the moment. And that is a good thing. It is good for us to be fully present in those times and not think about the past or the future - but rather the present moment. W e need to find those moments.

Today we talk about standards. The level of goodness and priority that we strive for and try to exceed or at least not fall below. And what I want to do today is encourage you to set your own personal standards and maintain and exceed them.

It's amazing how we grow impatient with wanting to make changes. The key isn't in dramatic, immediate changes. The key is being consistent with small changes every day. It's living with that kind of intention I'd like to talk about today. Let's share a cup of good advice with our coffee- how 'bout it?
Step one, figure out what’s most important in life. Step two, keep those important things on the table all the time. Pretty simple. Let’s share a cup and unpack this.
Living in the moment is a huge thing that we all take for granted. When you do, amazing things can happen. Today I’d like you to learn to focus your efforts on the little things to positively affect the big picture. Let’s have a cup of joe.
This was a lesson revealed due to a broken irrigation system. Almost every day you will encounter things that make you uncomfortable, make you feel stressed or basically put you under pressure. These situations provide great opportunity for you to better yourself. Let’s have coffee together.
Doing well, doing your best is essential but to be great you need to be consistent with this effort. And the great thing about this is that everyone is capable of doing this, it doesn’t take any special talent, it just takes the will to do it. Let’s dive into this and talk about ways that might help you achieve this. Make mine an Americano this morning!
Almost every day you will encounter things that make you uncomfortable, make you feel stressed or basically put you under pressure. These situations provide great opportunity for you to better yourself. Let’s dive in to this over coffee today.
Today’s episode was inspired by a commencement address I was made aware of recently. In a nutshell, be conscious of the way you think about the world around you. It really takes an effort to do this. Things aren’t always happening to you, you are happening to them. Let’s talk about it over coffee today.
What is that force, that process that keeps you moving in a positive direction and keeps you away from the negative direction? Today we take on the things that keep your daily momentum by staying committed to your daily promises. It’s a two-stage process. Let’s share some coffee and get with it.
So much of how we proceed in life is based on goals. But should happiness be goal-oriented?
Consider this with me today: enjoy the ride, and live for the process not the end result. Let’s explore.
At times in your life you will find yourself having to be a leader. I know, I know…. you may be one who avoids raising your hand and volunteering to lead but it’s more than that. Even as a parent you will need to be a leader. Today let’s look at leadership with a different perspective. Whether it is as a parent, teacher, heading a committee, company or elected official. Keep this in mind today - build your character first before you truly understand what it is to be a leader. I’ll take mine black, no cream for this one.
Today we’re going to talk about fame. In our social media-centric world we need to get a handle on this topic. I got the inspiration for this episode from Leo Braudy who wrote “The Frenzy of Renown: Fame and It’s History.” Here’s what I want you to consider today: if you want people to recognize you and remember you, make sure there’s a reason for it. Let’s have coffee.
Here’s a question for you: What have you done in the last month that would justify your actions in the next month? At the beginning of each year we often look back at the past year. Have you ever thought about looking back at the past month and reviewing that instead of looking back at the whole year? Over coffee today I have a few exercises for you to consider.
Is our life really that short? This is a question that at first seems simple to answer. However, I would invite you today (over a cup of coffee if you like) to consider a different perspective on the answer to this question. Let’s take a sip and dive in.
This seems like an appropriate topic at the beginning of a new year but it is relevant at any time. Set goals; simply put, If you don’t know where you’re going you’ll probably never get there.
In today’s podcast I decided that rather than hold off until I had something more organized to present, I would instead just go ahead and talk about something that seems so simple but so necessary in today’s cultural climate - get outside!
Question for today: What’s the difference between being mad and being angry? Join me for a cup of coffee as we try to get to the answer today.
The external factors in our lives are relatively inconsequential. It’s our character and virtues that determine our happiness. Those are internal. Let’s explore this today over a cup of your favorite beverage.
One of the first things I did when I was young, (and BTW - my kids do this too) is respond to my parents after they would tell me something with - “why?” Invariably it would lead to a chain of “why” responses until the temptation out of exasperation is to reply with - “because i said so.” Well, that didn’t always end the conversation but it does help you think about things. So today, I invite you to step back with me and take a look at what you do every day from a child’s perspective.
Today we’re going to discuss a few different types of friendship. Why is this important? Because it helps up understand the relationships we have with each other. And even more important how it can inspire us to improve our role in these relationships. Pour a cup and let’s savor this one together.
There’s a book I would highly recommend that you read if you can. It’s a book by Steven Covey and one of the topics he covers is the subject of today’s podcast. It is the idea of interdependence - as contrasted with dependence and independence. There is one of these three that is the better way. Let’s grab a cup o’ joe and unpack this one. Thanks for listening.
Never lose sight of the main thing. You might be surprised at just how easy this can be, especially when we think we might be focusing on what looks like the main thing. In today’s episode we’re going to use the illustration of rock climbing to better explain this means. I’ll take mine black today as we get super focused! Thanks for listening.
“The best way” and “the way it’s always been done” are often not the same. In this episode I’m inviting you think about the possibility of doing things in a different way and for a few very good reasons. Maybe have a cup of iced coffee today or sip from a different mug as we explore this idea together. Thank you for listening!
In this episode I hope to challenge you into a slightly different way of thinking about regret. Regret is something we will do just about anything to avoid. But the funny thing is, nearly all of us end up with regrets. So what if we looked at regret in a different way… a very construction way? Do not live a life without regrets. Let’s grab a cup of coffee and talk about this today. Thank you for listening!
Here’s a bit of a ‘no-brainer’ - happiness is a by-product of little successes in life. But let your brain chew on this: how do you feel in between the successes? Is happiness the end-all be-all we’re led to believe it is? Not on your life. There’s something much better. Let’s take a sip and settle into this one today.
Sometimes the simplest concepts are the hardest for us to accept. Here are two: bad things are going to happen and preparation keeps us from overreacting. Let’s unfold the meanings behind these concepts that hopefully will help it stick in your mind. It’s coffee time!
Of all the podcasts I’ve had the honor of doing this one may be the one that was born for the moment in which we live. The year 2020 will be remembered for the world-wide shutdown caused by COVID-19, a novel flu virus. All around us the world reacts and mostly over-reacts. Yet we can take a simple lesson from a pebble dropped in a still pond of water that WILL have a powerful impact on you today. We may need two cups of coffee as we think about this one.
As we record this in the spring of 2020 the world is in the midst of a pandemic from a novel coronavirus. When things get shutdown and resources get scarce there is an amazing principal that we can look to that will do wondrous things to change the corner of the world in which we live. Let’s share a real cup of coffee and talk about this one today.
There’s a fundamental principal in our lives that is particularly appropriate in this day and age. Giving and expecting something in return robs us of the opportunity to inspire. Settle in to your favorite chair or take a sip of coffee and let’s explore this idea today.
You know how I love sports analogies. Today’s topic fits perfectly with this. In athletics we practice to get better. How often do we apply that principal to our everyday lives? Being present and mindful takes practice. In fact every day we are practicing to be a better person. Let’s grab a cup of coffee and unpack this today.
The title of this episode really says it. The most effective way to put something good into your brain is to read each day. Mark Tain had a quote that really sums it up, “A person who won’t read has no advantage over the person who can’t read.” Let’s have some coffee and talk about the importance of reading in today’s episode. Come to think of it, books and coffee go pretty well together, right?
This is the first a recurring series I am beginning today where I take a quote and expand on it. Today, it is Mark Twain. “ Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it’s time to pause and reflect.“ Let’s unpack that one today over a cup of joe.
Our society tends to focus on the negative. Today, let’s try to understand why we do this and how it can actually be a benefit. Sound interesting? Pour a cup and let’s talk.
We all have problems. Things that go wrong. Stuff that doesn’t work out. And sometimes it feels like we have a lot of problems going on at the same time and it can seem overwhelming. How do we better deal with that? Change your perspective. I have a great saying for you today to think about that teaches us it’s how we define our problems and our perception of them that determines our daily attitude.
What aspects of your life are you focusing on in hopes of achieving a happy and fulfilled life? Is it stuff… status… or something better? Let’s grab a cup and get our “philosophy on” to see where we should be looking.
To be a great leader you have to be a representation of something worth following. There are leaders and then there are those who lead. To be a great leader you must be a great follower. But the questions becomes - what do great leaders follow? Let’s try to unpack this together over a cup o’ joe.
Today we take on a big subject. What is the difference between honor and dignity? Each has its own culture. Consider the groups that each culture is in and how they respond to circumstances around them. Hang in there as we discuss what it means to live an honorable life.
More times than not we immediately picture the worst case scenario when faced with a challenge. And often we see this as the only outcome. This can keep us from reaching our potential. What are the alternatives? Grab a cup and lets challenge ourselves with that today.
Today a very simple concept that we really need to understand in order to put into practice; do the right thing because it is the right thing. Being unsure of the outcome of your efforts does not take away your responsibility to do the right thing. Might need some cream and sugar today.
So you’re probably wondering what are dynamic inconsistencies? Good question. I’ll answer that question keeping in mind that making choices and decisions on the spur of the moment sometimes gives you an excuse to do something against your core beliefs. Sound interesting? Let’s share a cup of coffee and talk.
So negative thoughts are those that creep in and tell us we can’t do what we want to or need to do. No matter how hard we try, they will at some time or another enter our minds. The question is, what do you do? It’s a matter of patience and perspective. Let’s talk about putting those into practice today over a cup of coffee.
We all make them and there is one reason we do. We’ll talk about that today while defining what an excuse is and why we make them - even when we know we shouldn't. Spoiler alert: Remember, excuses sound good only to the person who is making them! Let’s have a cup of coffee and get down to business.
Today’s topic is stillness. Life is such a blur that sometimes we need to stop in order to focus and see more clearly. We all have the capability of stopping and uncovering the stillness that lies inside each of us. And when we do, we don’t react, we respond - which a much more sensible approach. Don’t neglect the quiet, still times in your day; it is here that we gain perspective and generate focus to succeed.
Life is a lot like sports, but unlike sports life is not a finite game. It goes on infinitely in many ways, which we’ll talk about today. It is important to understand that in life we play for the long-haul. And when we take that perspective it changes the way we interact with our spouse, children, business partners, anything. Let’s talk.
So… this is a topic I felt like I was finally ready to address. It began with an old Greek saying that goes “societies grow greater when old men plant trees in whose shade they will never sit.” Thinking about the future is not easy when you’re young but it is extremely important and very useful, especially in light of current events in our culture today. Grab a cup of coffee and lets go for it.
Today we’re going to get busy with this next concept. There are things in life you want to accomplish. Goals that are important to us. And often we find ourselves not achieving those goals. What do we do? We find excuses. Admit it. We do. Guess what… nobody cares about your excuses. What do they care about? Grab a cup of coffee and lets get real about this.
We are all familiar with the four seasons; spring, summer, fall and winter. And beyond that there are other seasons, for example, growing seasons. I’m sure you can think of a few more. On this episode I’d like to talk with you about the seasons of our life. Specifically how we can understand them better as we get older and gain the ability to grow and mature successfully.
We hear these two words often today. And I’d like to ask you a question - a question I remember my 6th grade teacher asking me. What is the difference between these two words? Knowing the answer to that question can clear a lot of the barriers that can come between you and success. Let’s have a cup and talk about that today.
Here’s a question you often hear people ask- why am I here? What’s the meaning of life? Here’s a better question - what is the meaning IN life? Instead of trying to look down the road to someday’s potential happiness, what I’d like you to think about today over your fresh cup ‘o joe, is to consider the joy that is right in front of you today- in THIS moment. Let’s talk….
The song goes “haters are gonna hate.” We all will have them at some point in our life. It’s how we handle them that will define who we are and who they are. Today, pour a nice cup of joe and listen to some ways we can effectively deal with those who hate us. It all comes down to who we listen to.
In today’s episode we talk about the difficult things. Things in life that we don’t often want to do or want to face. Have you ever thought about what it take to change your mindset to a point where you would actually embrace the difficult things? What does it take to “squeeze the weakness” out of your body? Let’s talk about that today over a cup of your favorite hot beverage.
There is a concept that states we all have a masterpiece within us. It’s the one unique thing that reveals itself to the world over the course of our life that represents the best sum total of who we are as a person and makes the world better for you having been there. But we often don’t understand the process in which that happens. Is it something that is ‘forced’ out of you or is it something that just happens along the way if we have the skills to recognize it. That’s what I’d like to talk with you about in today’s podcast.
There are two things that overcome many of the problems you face in life nearly every day. It’s perseverance and persistence. But did you know that there is a difference between the two? When you understand this, it will provide a complete picture of how the two work together to help you navigate past the obstacles.
Today’sepisode is all about making the right choices with regard to friendships. There is a saying that goes "you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with." That means it is important to evaluate those you associate with and today I would like to give you some guidelines to think about when you consider those you are hanging out with.
How often do we simply do what is expected? On one level there isn’t anything wrong with that since you are fulfilling a role or doing your job like you should. There’s another word for this - you are competent - put another way your performance is average. My sense is that if you’re listening to this podcast you want to be more than that. Let’s talk about an excellent life. Grab a cup of coffee and let’s chat.
In this episode of Coffee with Dad I’d like to invite you to consider what “success” is. I’d love for you to pour a cup or take a sip from your travel mug and let’s talk about what defines, or perhaps, what might be a better way to define success.
Today’s topic gets a lot of bad press but it needs to be embraced in a positive way because this is what keeps us alive and going strong as we get older. As human beings we are built with a desire to “want” things. Not just in a material sense, but in a sense of wanting to grow, succeed and achieve something we were not able to previously achieve. When we’re young our elders ask us “What to you WANT to be when you grow up?” Often those desires are tamped down by those around us who can force us to be reasonable when it comes to our desire to “want” to achieve our ambitions. How do we deal with those forces that hold us back? Grab some coffee and let’s talk about that today.
When other do things, say things or even post things on social media it’s almost second nature for us to make judgments about them. If we like that person, it’s usually a good opinion. If we don’t, often the exact same action can leave us forming poor opinions. But we must remember that it works both ways in the things we say and so… and post. That’s what we get into in today’s Coffee with Dad.
Today I have a challenge for you that may or may not inspire you. It’s something that if you can do, you are truly on your way to being a much more fulfilled person who is not constantly chasing after worthless affirmations and faint praise. In fact, if you can do this it will change your perspective on your actions and the result of your actions in a hugely positive way.
Well… this can be a big problem in our society today. In this episode we define what complaining is and why we should never, ever do it. Complaining is nothing but negative thoughts and causes us to dwell on things that give birth to a negative mindset. What can we do about it? It’s pretty simple… let’s talk.
There’s one thing I can assure you, during your lifetime you will fail at something, and several times. But failure is not something that you should spend your time and energy trying to avoid. Instead it is simply a by product of of our positive active pursuits. In fact, in this episode we look at changing our perspective when it comes to failure. Instead of allowing it to destroy us, we can actually embrace it. Say what!????
Thoughts from today’s episode on mortality were inspired by Dr. Atul Gawande’s book “Being Mortal.” One of the primary takeaways that I’d like to explore today, from the book, is how flawed our medical society is because we overly emphasize curing things and prolonging life as much as possible and this determines our success. We fail to realize that there are other factors that should be taken into account as well. Let’s talk about that today.
Injury…stress…problems…things that are unexpected. Sometimes things happen that just knock us down and leave us feeling frustrated and ready to quit. In today’s episode I’d like to talk with you about how to look at the unexpected events that happen to us in a different way - to make them actually work for you.
Today is a topic that we don’t like to talk about but it’s important - suffering. In this episode we define what suffering is and how it is different than despair. We’ll learn the story of Holocaust survivor Viktor Frankl and how he overcame suffering while in a Nazi concentration camp without having it devolve into despair. It is a very important strategy that it would be essential for you know. And… there’s homework with this episode.
I got today’s theme from a book of the same title by Angela Duckworth. The idea I want to talk about today, inspired by the book, is that you succeed in life not because you’re enthusiastic but because you have endurance - or grit. Think of it like falling in love (the easy part) and staying in love (the harder but necessary part). I will outline three important points to help you “Get Grit” in today’s podcast.
Today we begin with a well-known Steven Covey quote - “you are not a product of your circumstances, you are a product of your decisions.” How many people do you know who say I could have done this, but I was in circumstances that prevented it. This is the stance of a victim. Those who choose to own up to their decisions are on the way to success. And the best decision you can begin with is the one I want to talk about today.
No person is inherently bad or evil. As they say, “God doesn’t make junk.” And this means that if someone does bad things to you or to someone around you should never direct your language, your actions or your anger at the person - instead it should be directed at the action. This is an important step toward understanding others and helping you deal with people who are ‘less than nice’ to you. This is fundamental in friendship- and it’s what we talk about today.
Martin Luther King had a famous saying that inspired today’s episode. It’s a quote that encourages us to never stop trying. When we do stop, there is a whole lot of things that happen to our brain that you need to be aware of so you can avoid them. Do what you need to do to keep moving! Physically… and mentally.
There’s one ingredient that is very important to success, so important that without it success is impossible. That one thing is effort. Now, that word tends to have a negative sound. It makes us feel worn out or tired. But when you look at the big picture, effort is something that gets easier the further along you move toward your success. And the best part about effort is, anyone can choose to use it. And in today’s episode we’ll find out how the magic really happens when we commit to effort.
It’s a funny kind of concept but it’s true. The younger we are, what seems so important right now in shaping your future, really isn’t. The things that are important are communication, personal resilience and emotional intelligence. Basically knowing yourself. You flaws, strengths, and your values. That’s what we talk about today.
This episode is very important. If you can grasp this, the ONE thing, you are well on your way along a successful life path. You will become what you think about and mastering this concept is of utmost importance. zYour brain will always stop short of what your body can achieve and this concept holds the key to pushing your brain past what it thinks it can do and allows you to push past mediocrity. How? I let you know one simple thing to do.
Years ago I read a book that really stuck with me. The premise of the book is everything that happens to you is your fault. Now, that may sound kind of harsh. However when you dig deeper into that you realize that understanding what that really means is a tremendous positive toward moving you forward on your journey toward being your true self.
Gratitude can be one of THE most important habits that you can develop. And if you focus not on the outcome of the gratitude habit but at the process, wonderful things happen. Being grateful for what you have now is the best way to live in the moment. But enjoying the process of gratitude takes it from a noun to a verb and this truly sets you life in motion.
All that we have is a gift. And when we consider the quote from runner Steve Prefontaine, “to give anything less than your best is to sacrifice your gift.” So what is the gift? Today we explore what this means and how it should change our attitude about the simple things we receive each day, including giving our best at work.
We’ve all made them. New Year’s resolutions. And chances are we’ve probably not followed through on some of them. And the reasons why can be varied. But nearly all of them have one thing in common - it’s not having a clear idea of who we want to be. In today’s podcast we talk about some things to be aware of that will help us become who we want to be. And who knows? We actually keep those resolutions and become the person we want to be!
How often have you heard the saying, don’t sweat the small stuff? Do you do that, or do you go after the small stuff? The idea with that is you don’t get stressed out about the little things that happen to you in life. Then there are the little things you do in life that are small things. I would like to invite you today to consider the thought that – you should sweat the small stuff. I will explain why in this episode.
What forms our opinion of ourselves? This is a pretty tough question and one we don’t often take the time to consider. It starts with things in-grained deep inside us, the things we tell ourselves and have told ourselves during the course of our lives. And it shows itself to our friends in how we handle those weaknesses inside us, sometimes with self-deprecating humor which can end up doing more damage than good. So what do we do? We need to realize that we all have the ability to grow- at any time, all the time. Avoid the fixed mindset and embrace the ability we all have to change our lives one good decision at a time.
Why does it seem that we typically place a higher value on other’s ideas, thoughts and feedback rather than our own? Have you ever had a circumstance where the slight critical opinion from others tends to ruin your day? Why can’t we stand up to derogatory comments from others without having it ruin our day? There are ways that you can. It begins with a look at yourself and understanding that there are things about ourselves that we need to value. It’s a fine line between a healthy self-image and being arrogant but you can walk that line with a few strategies that we talk about today.
Training is what we do to attain the goal that we set in front of us. It requires effort and perseverance, the two main attributes of training. When you think about it, everything you do in life is training for something, at school, at work and in our relationship. What I hope you take away from this episode is that the most important point to training, may not be what you think it is. Thanks for tuning in!
Ever wonder why two people can see the same thing or have the same experience and yet it affects them so differently? It all has to do with perspective. When we realize that our perspective on life events is not the same as our sibling, friend, neighbor or spouse we are well on the way to navigating some of the puzzling and frustrating episodes of life. And there’s one important key to doing this well - we talk about that today.
What are the things that move you forward and make you more productive? It is often small changes, compounded over time that make a huge difference. Perhaps at the top of the list is how you spend your time. Today I’ll tell you about a couple of small things that I have removed from my life that has provided huge gains in other areas that help me move forward.
The internet is an awesome thing, except when it isn’t. Social media has changed us as a culture in ways that are sometimes not helpful. Today I’ve got a few ideas that should help you realize what social media does to us and how to avoid these pitfalls.
Perhaps one of the most important things I share with my medical students that rotate with me has very little to do with medicine. Instead it has to do with realizing the important things in their lives that support their desire to be successful in the medical field. Life can be a juggling act to try and manage all the things we have to do without "dropping the ball." And what we often don't realize is that those balls we're trying to keep in the air are made of glass, except for one. We'll dive into that today.
I had a thought as I was driving home from work the other night thinking about my patients. And that was how our health-life balance gets out of whack because of a lack of discipline. We don't often think about the positive effects of discipline when in reality discipline is the root of freedom. I will tell you a story about a jiu-jitsu fighter that knows just how this works.
You may remember from your science class the concept of inertia. It's the tendency of an object to remain at rest or remain in motion unless acted upon by an outside force. Today I want to apply that to your everyday life and look at how inertia can prevent us from having the life we truly desire. Inertia can prevent us from changing in the ways we know we need to change. But it takes an outside force and that's what I want to talk you about today.
It’s often been said that your mind will quit long before your body will meaning that you are physically capable of more than you think. Another way to look at your abilities is to see what you can do physically and let this drive the positive mental energy to take you to the next level.
We make choices everyday that determine what path we take in life. The only way to move down the path is to choose a direction and act on it; no matter what our intentions are, our actions take us where we need to be.
Who we are, what we believe and what defines us are our core values. These values need to be specifically defined and revisited frequently. This takes the guess work out of many of our daily decisions.
We all have to do things that we don’t enjoy but if you find yourself in a situation or occupation that you’re not passionate about, don’t let the fact that you are comfortable or just lazy keep you from making a positive change in your life.
Hi. My name is Gary and I'm a dad. I live in the Black Hills of South Dakota. I'm married to my best friend and she and I have four amazing kids. I created this podcast to stay in touch with them and hopefully influence them in a positive way as they grow older, graduate and head off to college.
Each episode is about 5 minutes with some brief thoughts and advice on everything from staying focused, being motivated to the best ways to make good choices. Thanks for listening and I hope you might get a little something of value each time you tune in.
