Lotus Wombs Awakening: Recent Episodes

Ash Makeda

There is an awakening happening within the Black Community, and world at large.

My role, or one of, is to chronicle this awakening through my speaking and writing.

Lotus Wombs Awakening is the Higher Self to Black Wombs Awakening, which was the previous name of this podcast space.

Lotus Wombs Awakening, while it will speak on the same topics Black Wombs Awakening did, comes from a space of divinity that isn’t attached to our race, yet, still, recognizes the aspect of our being-ness that is affected by our physical incarnation (race, country of origin, etc)

Here’s to more Healing, within.

Greetings Lotuses, today I wanted to share some thoughts on divine union, spiritual healing and ‘brokeness’. I’ve experienced going through financially challenging periods on my journey, while being married, conscious and mothering. I’ve learned that our financial state isn’t always a reflection of our spiritual state and I have some insights to share with those who may be going through similar experiences or have similar reasonings, so feel free to tune in and write in some thoughts.

Greetings Lotuses,

Today I’m speaking with Sade, a fellow mompreneur, certified health coach, badass breastfeeding mama & soul sister.

Today, we’re sharing some of the experiences we’ve had on the journey of breastfeeding as Caribbean/Black Women.

Yes, we emphasize us being Caribbean/Black Women because there is so much behind our ethnicity that sets the tone for the experiences we have had on this journey. Experiences that connect back to our ancestry, our culture, our societies and just, overall, us being melanated beings.

This convo is deep yet calming & filled with so much laughters & soul support as we speak some of our truths.

Tune in & connect with us.

We’ll be live, tomorrow, in the Lotus Community on Instagram @lotuswombsawakening to dive deeper into this discussion.

Greetings Lotuses,

In the midst of the daily hustle & bustle of being women with our duties to our work, children, home, men &, of course, ourselves... we experience many moments that can be seen as rites of passage.

These rites of passages started from our youth though for many of us, growing up, we were not guided through these life shifting moments with the awareness that these were, indeed, rites of passages - significant moments that would forever shift how we express ourselves.

In this candid conversation, Ren and I, share bits of our stories of how we felt becoming women and when we began to recognize that we were, indeed, women.

It’s lots of laughter, interruptions from my children and cups turning over but, it’s real. It’s raw. It’s women connecting in our differences & finding similarities.

Click the link in my bio to give it a listen.

What was your initiation into womanhood like?

Did you recognize the moment you became a women?

Did you have guidance as you shifted into womanhood?

There are two dominant forces that we have within us and that surround us — The Masculine & Feminine or, as described in Taoism as, Yin and Yang. Yin, being the feminine and Yang being the masculine. 🌱 This can also be looked at on a more scientific level as the left and right brain perspectives of life. The left brain hemisphere is known as the masculine side and governs the right side of the human body and the right brain hemisphere is feminine and governs the left side of the body. So, our left side of our body is the feminine and our right side of our bodies is masculine BUT the left side of the brain is masculine and the right side of the brain is feminine. 🌱 Feminine and Masculine goes beyond gender and speaks of the characteristic of our being, nature and energy. With quick research one can look up feminine and masculine characteristics. We all carry both of these principles within us ... in different degrees and the goal is to balance our masculine and feminine energies within ourselves and within this Universe... 🌱 Science says that, though the left and right brain hemisphere can, and does, work, independently, they do their best when they work TOGETHER. The goal, is for us to see the value in the feminine as much we do the masculine and this goes from the literal gender based view to the esoteric and energetic views of bringing balance to one’s self and this universe.

There’s been a lot of tension these last few weeks and, as is the flow of life, the tension around us very much affects within us ... and in many ways, is a reflection of the ongoing tension that resides within us all, individually and collectively. 🐍 A few weeks ago, I came across some information on the traumatic experiences that happened in the Rasta Community in April 1963. I decided to go down the rabbit hole and found information on how much segregation Rastafarians have endured within their own Black Communities, over the years. I have seen this, growing up in Jamaica but never quite understood why Rastas were looked down on and why young people were so deterred from embodying anything that resembled the Rasta man... like locing their hair. 🐍 Simultaneously, and this was to my surprise, in April 1963 ... Martin Luther King was in Alabama fighting against the White Supremacists Segregation. 🐍 What was interesting to me was that the very same thing happening in America was happening in Jamaica except it wasn’t White Supremacists (though idk if Bustamate was a white supremacist) and white cops and white people who were suppressing the Rastas... it was their own black people. 🐍 So, this brought to my mind the concept of the “European Supremacy Consciousness” and how it can be rooted in any being ... and how throughout the centuries many Black people have had this European supremacy consciousness planted within them and had an aversion to anything related to black consciousness and black freedom. I think this is the very thing that caused so many Black people to look down on Rasta men and women who refused to live their lives from the standards of Europeans ... they refused to live by European Consciousness... as they did not incarnate as European Beings... 🐍 Listen to the full podcast episode to understand the full message and feel free to ask me questions and leave, respectful, comments... even if we have different perspectives and/or opinions, all is welcomed to be shared once done so, respectfully. Tune in.

When the land goes barren And there are no trees and running streams of water left Will that be when we realize how much we need her? The Original Mother... Mother Nature.

A people who have never known her experienced her or gotten the chance to fall in love with her. Will never be able to truly feel her see her hear her cries or empathize with her demise.

We have all betrayed the mother in one way or another And the betrayal has run deep within our DNA For centuries And yes... It will take time to reconnect to her... But, she is willing to forgive.

She is patient She is kind She is self-sacrificing She is the original mother.

She holds us in her womb as we mature Into saints or demons She holds no biases She loves all her children Even the ones who beat her cut her... Still, she screams I forgive you, I forgive you For you know not what you do You have been stripped from me You do not know how connected you are to me You have forgotten me But I will never forget you Children of the Earth Children of my Womb.

Greetings all, this is just to serve as a brief explanation of the sudden name change from ‘Black Wombs Awakening’ to ‘Lotus Wombs Awakening. It’s sudden on the outside looking in, but I’ve felt this changing coming for a long time and had signs, time and time again, come to let me know ... it was, really, coming. So, on this New Moon in Aquarius, I birth a space of universal knowledge and healing as we journey, still, through the terrains of healing Black Consciousness.

Greetings all, Ash Makeda here. Tonight I’m sharing some thoughts around Jamaica and what it’s been like these last few years as I’ve been in transition of migrating from Jamaica and, slowly, moving back to Jamaica as a young wife, mother and creative entrepreneur. These are just some my perspectives from the experiences I have had and in no way paints the full picture of Life in Jamaica, but I acknowledge that my piece of the puzzle counts. Gratitude to all who tunes in and looking forward to share more thoughts as the journey continues. You can listen to this episode through various platforms by clicking more platforms!

Greetings all, in this episode I speak, candidly, about my experiences with learning how to balance my masculine and feminine energies. It’s not always easy and I find that it requires constant self observation but, I’m grateful for the awareness that I have that leads me to constantly work on myself and navigate these different experiences of my life and return to a space of calm after triggering moments... I find that everything is a mirror of how our energies are, within and so... these past few years, I’ve been allowing my experiences as a Wife and Mother to guide me inward so that I can understand how my energies are - when I’m overly expressing my masculine or perhaps sinking into left brain ways of reaction to avoid the work of feeling and tuning in to my emotions. It’s a process... and I am nowhere near perfect when it comes to understanding the balance of the energies but I’ll keep learning and trying. #blackwombsawakening

Hey Everyone. I am back (finally) and today I’m sharing a bit around the realm of birthing in Jamaica and connecting all that I’ve observed these last few weeks, months and years as it relates to feminine healing, birthing and farming... these are all connected under the umbrella of Femininity, in the essence of energy. As we’re in the process of reclaiming our feminine energy in its most natural state, I find that I am going through it, mostly, in the reams of motherhood, birthing and farming (paying attention to what we eat, where it comes from, etc.) 🌱This was actually filmed today, December 21, 2020, but I accidentally saved it under an old podcast draft from back in September🌱 lol but nonetheless, still sharing.

I know for me ... when I was strong in the church... I would feel the Spirit and this would be the proof, in my mind, that Christianity must be the right way... but then I learned that I am the church, my body is my temple and the Spirit is within me ... so it isn’t anything outside of me that evokes a spiritual response like speaking in tongues or dancing in the Holy Spirit ... these things are apart of us, naturally.

When we are present in spaces of good vibrations and/or amongst people who are high in their own personal vibrations and/or tuned in to the higher vibrations of life, ourselves ... we will be able to channel, and speak different tongues and/or move our bodies in the flow.

You see ... it isn’t anything outside of us that connects us to God ... it is all within and how we choose to express is unique to our beings and journeys. Bless.

We’re all on this journey of healing ... whether we call it that, or not ... we’re all aiming for better — a better job, better pay, a loving relationships, healthy habits ... whatever it is ... most of us have some area of our life journey where we just feel unfulfilled and the first step to healing this .. is becoming aware of the feelings and .... feeling to heal. We don’t really know how to talk about our feelings... we don’t know how to express what we’re going through, especially where I come from... talking about the darker feelings wasn’t so normal ... and so, instead of releasing the dark feelings... I would bottle them up inside — internalized years of hurt, pain ... Now, as I grow more aware of myself and my journey ... I aim to reconnect to that younger version who didn’t know how to express herself ... because she is me, still ... my body may have grown but I still carry on the patterns of that child who didn’t learn how to express her feelings... so I’m learning, and opening up and sharing this journey with you all.
