"And if we are not actively practicing resilience, actively practicing watching where our thoughts go, actively practicing moving forward and letting things go, then it's actually quite a high probability that you're going to get stuck in this sh*t.
You're going to feel like crap. You're going to feel like, “What's the point?”
You're going to start to get in this negative arena, and that's not where life is meant to be lived."

🥳🎂 It's official—I'm turning 40! 🎉🎈
And I feel like a new, exciting chapter is beginning.
That’s the fun thing about life, isn’t it? There’s always potential for something new just around the corner. (wanted, or not)
Last year, when I almost died in the hospital and received a diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes, I was terrified of all the change it would bring. And it was an adjustment, to say the least.
But, as long as we’re alive, we have the opportunity to not just get through anything life throws at us - but to create the best version of life each and every day. (which, of course, looks different for everyone)
I’ve never been one to get caught up on numbers when it comes to age.
I’ve always lived by the idea that the BEST age is always the one I’m currently living - no matter how high the numbers creep ;)
Because it’s only MY CURRENT AGE in which I’m currently alive - and it’s only this age in which I have the ability to create a life that lights me up.
And the same goes for you.
In my latest podcast episode, I share my reflections since last year’s (third) near-death experience, as I approach “The Big Four-Oh”, and reflect on the various chapters in my life that have brought me to where I am today.
But why is this personal reflection important for YOU?
Because with each new chapter brings change. Or perhaps better put - change brings new and exciting chapters.
Unfortunately, many of us are too afraid to make changes in life - to upgrade our current situations and follow our passions - even when we know deep down that we’re not actually happy with where we’re currently at.
If there’s any part of you that knows you’d like to change something in your life - big or small - this podcast is for you.
Thank you for spending part of your journey we call “life” with me, in these episodes.
I appreciate you.

In this episode, we dive deep into the fascinating world of manifestation, exploring how you can use it to transform your life and create positive change. 🌟
Join me as we unveil the secrets to effective manifestation and discuss why it works for some people or situations but not others. Whether you're a manifestation novice or looking to level up your skills, this episode is packed with valuable insights and practical tips to help you harness the power of manifestation. ⚡️
🔑 Key Takeaway 1: Manifestation starts with a deep and genuine desire. Discover what you truly want in life and focus on how it will make you feel, rather than just visualizing it. This emotional connection is key to successful manifestation.
🔑 Key Takeaway 2: Our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs shape our reality. What we focus on the most is what we attract into our lives. Shift your mindset from negativity to positivity, and align your thoughts and emotions with your desired outcome.
🔑 Key Takeaway 3: Visualization is a powerful tool, but it's not enough on its own. Take action towards your goals, make aligned choices, and practice patience. Manifestation is a journey and managing expectations is crucial when things don't happen as quickly as desired.
Remember, you have the power to create your own reality. So tune in to the Make Life Better podcast and embark on a transformative journey of manifestation. 🌈✨

Have you ever said something in an emotional state that you regretted later?
Do you find yourself having intrusive thoughts when you feel angry, frustrated, or sad?
If you said yes, don’t worry - it just means you’re human :)
However, there IS a way that you can WATCH those thoughts WITHOUT becoming attached to them, or acting on them.
And I promise you - it’s a life changer!
We are not our thoughts. Our thoughts are not us. And our thoughts are most often, not even true.
In this episode, I discuss a challenging situation I recently went through where I almost reacted in a negative manner to my thoughts, what I learned from that experience, and some tips for YOU to keep yourself from saying and behaving in ways while in an emotional state that you’ll regret later.
Learn how to become a watcher of your thoughts, instead of reacting to them.
Thanks for being here.

There’s a very famous quote by Viktor Frankl, a holocaust survivor, that goes like this:
“Everything can be taken from a [hu]man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.”
This quote has stayed with me for decades. Why?
Because someone who went through something so grim, still had the mindset to be
able to see that positive was still available.
We are met with challenges each and every day. Big or small. It’s our ability to bounce back from and overcome these challenges that is the number one factor that determines your ability to strive and thrive in this life.
In this episode, I talk about my own adversities that I’ve had to overcome - and tools you can use to overcome them too.
If you ever find yourself derailed by what’s happening in your life - this is an episode you won’t want to miss!

Have you ever thought, “Why am I unhappy?”
There are a lot of unhappy people in this world. Maybe you’re one of them.
Maybe you’re just not as happy as you’d like to be. Or even you feel that way only sometimes.
Either way, I think this conversation provides a lot of inspired insight into why that is.
After watching a reel on Instagram, I got super inspired to share these thoughts with you about why so many people are unhappy. AND of course, how you can start to change that with just one simple shift in how you go about your day.
I’m excited to hear what comes up for you as you listen. Please share your thoughts with me over on Instagram @KandisJames.kj

Accepting Change and Letting Go....
Humans are funny creatures, in that we often know that change is NEEDED in our life... yet we are too scared to actually make the change. In some cases, we are not even conscious that we're too afraid, we just come up with a ton of excuses why it's not possible.
Change, whatever that may look like in that moment, is often the only way to really make life better - and yet, so many of us never actually make that change.
In Today's episode, we discuss:

How many times have you heard, "THE PAST IS THE PAST"?
Here's the thing... the past IS the past. And that has two different meanings.
a) The past is the past, we can't do anything about it, so let's keep moving on
b) The past is the past, and the person you are today and the life you live is based on everything that has happened, everything you've experienced in the past which means the past is in part creating your present which creates your future :)
So what does this mean?
Every situation you've experienced in the past is shaping how you see the world, and who you are within it. Sometimes this is a good thing, like you're super confident and believe you can do anything, so you accomplish amazing things.
Or...
Perhaps you have difficulties staying committed in relationships and end up hurting others (and getting hurt) in romantic relationships frequently. You want a life partner, but something always seems to shift when it gets serious.
You struggle to be vulnerable with those close to you, and that's preventing you from having close friends you can talk to and lean on - making you feel alone/lonely.
You get angry easily, or find yourself lashing out at those close to you and feel regretful about it later.
These are not simply 'personality traits' as some people will call them. Rather, they are defense mechanisms that your subconscious has created for you in an attempt to keep you safe, or out of harm's way.
In this episode, learn how to identify how your past is affecting your present, and how we can start to reprogram your subconscious to let go of these negative behaviour patterns so you can finally be free to live your best life.

Why do you have so many negative thoughts in your mind?
How can you stop those negative thoughts?
If you’re like most people, you often find yourself stuck in negative thought loops - thoughts of worry, stress, anxiety, fear, self-doubt and even anger, resentment or regret.
If this is you, rest assured - it’s completely normal!
However, it’s also pretty annoying, right?
These thoughts can prevent us from feeling happy, enjoying life to the fullest, and can wreak havoc on your relationships, career, self-esteem and so much more.

Sometimes Life Sucks. Right? Life can be hard.
Something happens to you or in the world around you, and you can’t help but think, ‘Man, this sucks!’ or ‘Why is life so difficult all the time?’
Perhaps something crappy has happened to you in your life recently - you are going through a difficult breakup or in a bad relationship, you’ve been diagnosed with a chronic or even fatal disease, you’ve lost your job, or you’re struggling to make ends meet as inflation continues to rise.
Life can be full of challenges. And at times it’s very common to think “Life Sucks”.
I was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and there was a part of me that immediately thought, “Life Sucks”.
Thankfully, however, I understand the difference between “life” and our “life situation”. It our life situation that can suck - not life itself. And that’s exactly what I’ll explain inside this podcast.
In this podcast you’ll learn:
At the end of the episode, I’ve got an epic question for you. Make sure you find me on Instagram @KandisJames.KJ and let me know your answer to it!

August 13, 2022 is a day I’ll always remember.
Around 3:30am, I called 911 and ordered an ambulance to my house. A couple hours later I was riding a thin line between life and death. I spent many hours in the emergency room followed by days in the ICU before being released from the hospital with a diagnosis that meant my life would quite literally never be the same.
Now, three weeks later I reflect on everything that happened and the lessons I’ve learned that will not only help ME live my own best life… but that can help YOU do the same.
I’d love to hear what comes up for you as you listen to these life lessons and how they relate to where you’re at in life right now. Hit me up on Instagram @KandisJames.KJ and let me know!
NOTE: For anyone triggered by talking about illness, hospitals or symptoms, you can skip forward to 11:22 to hear the outcome (spoiler alert: I'm alive!) and the lessons that have come up so far.
So, today my car got broken into. And by broken into I mean someone cute the soft top of my convertible.
Within a few minutes I felt a rainbow of emotions from anger to compassion.
And then I chose which emotion I was going to bring with me into the rest of the day. And I chose compassion and gratitude.
Some people told me I should be angry. Some other people I spoke to were angrier about it than I was.
I wasn’t happy that it happened… I love that car. But I also chose to accept it as if I’d chosen it. And that made all the difference.
–
In this episode, I’ll discuss with you:
• The key to accepting negative situations as if you’d chosen them (so you can get over them faster)
• How I was able to bring my emotional state back to the calm (despite knowing a large bill $$ was coming my way to fix the damage)
• How I use the 6 Mind Traps to assess the situation and move on quickly
• Ways that you too can learn to cope with negative life events with more ease

It was so unlike me...
When I looked through my list that I keep of potential podcast episodes to record an episode last week, not one of the 25 ideas I keep in a notepad sparked even the tiniest bit of joy or interest in me.
Part of me just wanted to go to bed. **I was feeling tired, lacking energy, hopeful yet apprehensive about the future at the same time.
--
So instead of going to bed, I decided to record a podcast about:**
• How we are affected by the global collective energy
• Why so many of us have been feeling uninspired, uncreative, and unable to focus
• What to do when we recognize that we are being affected
• How to recreate a more helpful or useful energy instead
• How we can approach and deal with those around who do not share our views

Have you ever wanted or dreamt about doing something in life, or making changes, but you never seem to actually take the steps toward getting it done?
Has it felt overwhelming? Impossible? Scary?
You know where you want to go, but when it comes to actually taking action, you feel STUCK?
If your answer is yes, then…
It’s time to GET UNSTUCK!
As a follow up to the last two episodes - visualizing your dream life & asking yourself the 5 most important questions to get yourself there - in this new episode we will go over:
Have you ever thought of a dream or a goal that you wanted to get done?
Maybe you don’t have the time to start right away and so you keep telling yourself,
“One day I’m going to do it”, or “Someday I’ll make time for this.”
But these days never end up coming, do they?
Ten or fifteen years have gone by, and you just wake up and realize that you’ve just been ‘getting by’ for so long now. You’ve become complacent in your life - it is what it is.
And the longer we are in a complacent state, the more difficult it feels to get out.
The good news is… it’s not as difficult as we think it is if we just jump into the driver’s seat.
And that’s exactly what we’re going to talk about in today’s brand new episode.
For many, the words “dream life” can feel grandiose, unrealistic or even ‘impossible’.
What comes up for you when I ask, “What is your dream life?”
In other words… What goes through your mind whenever time slows down or when you’re having a rough day?
What is it that you wish you could do if money or social constructs weren’t an issue?
Do you want to pursue a new career? Buy a house or a car?
Travel the world? Or just simply wake up each and every day looking forward to the day ahead?
Whatever it is,LET YOURSELF DREAM.
In today’s episode that’s exactly what we’re going to talk about.
Do you frequently think about your purpose in life?
Are you feeling overwhelmed because everyone else seems to have their whole life figured out, and you don’t?
Are you often stressed out pursuing things that you’re supposed to do, and not those that will make you happier?
You’re not alone.
One year ago, Brenda reached out to me, crying, feeling stuck, helpless, and unfulfilled with so much going on in her head - so lost as to where to go next.
And today, Brenda will be joining us for this special two-part podcast series where she will be taking us on a journey to how she found her own purpose in life.
Join us as we look back on how she went from insecure and unsure to confident and moving towards her dreams each day. Listen as she tells how she started living a life that lights her up from the inside, creating major life changes, and what has transpired for her for during the past twelve months after participating in the Live Your Dreams program.

In this episode we’ll talk about the NUMBER ONE THING HOLDING YOU BACK from anything and everything you want in this life - the biggest, baddest, scariest F WORD you ever did see.
FEAR
We’ll talk about all the surprising ways that fear manifests in our lives, how it’s holding you back from what you truly want, and of course - how to deal with it so you can move forward and create a life you love from the inside out.
In this episode, you’ll:
We all feel more confident when we have our best friends by our side - that support, that love, that hype that they give us. Everything becomes easier when we have them by our side, wouldn’t you agree?
Unfortunately, we can’t bring our BFFs everywhere we go. Sometimes we have to face the world ‘alone’.
So what if I told you that you can learn to be your OWN best friend - so that feeling of support, love and hype follows you wherever you go - no matter what?
In this episode, you’ll:
Are you the creator of your own life? Or are you victim of circumstance?
In other words, do you make life happen FOR you? Or do you sit around let it happen TO you?
Do you believe that what you truly want for is possible or you? Or do you let go of your dreams because you feel overwhelmed, full of self-doubt, fear, anxiety or worry? ?
For many of us, we feel like we have very little choice in what happens in our life. But that’s simply not true. In this episode you’ll learn how we have far more choices within our life than we realize. And it’s these newfound choices that can move us closer to our dream life or further away from it.
On this podcast you will learn:
Even the small things that we tend to dismiss can bring us closer to our goals and live life to the fullest.
In this episode, I discuss the importance of these small steps and its effect in our lives as a whole. I will share how I discovered these small steps that helped me realize my goals and at the same time enjoy my life, in hopes that this could also turn your life around.

Inspired by a client, in this episode I talk about when we need to “feel the feels” and when do we need to “just stay positive” and push through?
Positivity is a great tool or skill to have in this world but sometimes it does more harm than good. We have emotions for a reason, and knowing when to acknowledge them fully is key to ‘success’ in our lives.
Covered in this episode:
Letting things go…
It's arguably the most important and one of the most difficult things for humans to do.
We become attached to ideas, expectations, people, places, things… and to ‘let it go’ can seem very difficult.
Perhaps we've been met with trauma or people have treated us poorly - how do we just ‘let it go’?
It's easier said than done, isn't it?
Yet, when we hold on to these things, they're taking up space in our lives that we could be using for bigger, better things. Holding onto things that no longer serve us keeps us from growing and moving forward to create a life that lights us up inside each and every day.
Which is why it's so important to learn to let it go.
And yet... so many people struggle to let things go.
That's why I'm sharing with you in today's episode, my three-step process for letting things go with more ease.
You will:
Feeling trapped or stuck in your current life?
Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, full of fear or worry about what lays ahead?
Find yourself frequently thinking about the worst case scenario?
You're not alone. But you also don't have to stay that way.
Chances are, you’re stuck in what I like to call “mindtraps”. As the name suggests, these are traps within that mind (a.k.a. thought loops) that keep us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and/or anxious.
In this episode we’ll discuss what these mindtraps are, and how they not only fill us with overwhelm, anxiety, and worry - but they inhibit us from reaching our goals, hopes and dreams. And of course, you'll learn how to recognize when you're IN one of these mindtraps so you can get yourself OUT and move forward!
Our mind - just like any muscle - can be taught and trained. Understanding these behaviours helps us acknowledge the power of our minds in our daily lives.
COVERED IN THIS EPISODE:
In Episode 007, I talked about my own experience with anxiety, and the long-term goals or 'treatment' to get rid of anxiety once and for all (okay, get rid of it most of the time).
In this episode, I'm giving you the 5 tools I use IN THE MOMENT when I do experience anxiety. Anxiety can feel scary, and these tools will help bring you out of the anxious moment back to balance faster. The more you use them the faster the process will be!
5 Tools to Handle Anxiety in the Moment:
1. Notice & allow it
2. Describe something
3. MOVE!
4. Acknowledge it
5. Know that it will pass
Of course, I go into much more detail on all of them in the episode - see you there!
"Manifestation" is a common word these days, but what does it even mean?
I'm no expert on the topic, but I DO manifest a lot in my life.
Up until recently, I found it easy to manifest what I considered 'small things' in life - but I struggled manifesting bigger things.
That is, until I recently saw evidence in my own life of EXACTLY HOW I was able to manifest things - and perhaps more importantly what was holding me back from experience manifestation success in the past.
Plus, we'll talk about how manifestation has a place in our every day lives, and how you can start creating a better life TODAY with these incredible tips.
In this episode:
When I learned that my anxiety was being created by my own mind... I realized that I had the power to UNCREATE it too!
And that was the beginning of the end of my struggles with debilitating anxiety.
I went from feeling anxious and on the verge of a panic attack at almost every moment of every day - to experiencing that level of anxiety maybe once or twice a year.
If you want to learn the secrets to how I overcame and manage my anxiety, TUNE IN!
Covered in this episode:
With everything going on in the world right now, it's no wonder so many of us are experiencing a roller coaster of emotions each and every day.
It's important to properly release these emotions, but since we've been brought up in a culture that encourages us to push down our emotions and act as if we're always okay, most of us don't actually know how to effectively nurture and dissipate our emotions.
In this episode we discuss:
F*** 2020!
Bring on 2021!
In today's episode we're talking about:
Happy New Moment, everyone!

I went on a date with a stranger from the internet, and he said something to me that literally changed my life. It was exactly what I needed to hear to finally create and live the life I'd been dreaming of!
And now, I'm sharing that awesome phrase with you so you too can create and live the life you truly want.
What IS the meaning of life? It's probably not what you think.
(But you might be pleasantly surprised!)
In this very first episode we discuss how common it is to live inside your head, how it's holding you back from living your best life, and what it means to finally get outta your head and into your life.
