Laramy goes through ALL the characters from the comics while Tim explains the movies importance to cinema; all while Chad gets lost in discussing how bonkers this movie is!! Dick Tracy is Warren Beatty's passion project, a hit for Madonna, and an Oscar nominating performance for Al Pacino. There is so much these 3 guys have to say about this movie that they all think fondly of and have great nostalgia for.

DC featured Santa as a main character 14 years before he ever appeared in Marvel comics and it wouldn't be until 1979 that Santa officially enters the Marvel universe.

And Devo from Friday! That's gotta be something right?? Right??? What if I told you it was a loose remake of one of the greatest films of all time??

It's our Halloween related review!! A week away from his wedding, Blake Fowler, delivers this horror movie to the podcast. A comic that is considered by many, the book that revived the horror comic genre. Vampires attacking a small town in northern Alaska during a month without sunlight is a premise so simple that you might ask why no one thought of it sooner. How well does this stylized and dark comic from Steve Niles and teenage artist Ben Templesmith translate to film? And how exactly do Laramy and Blake feel about Josh Hartnett?

She has just completed Phase 1 (Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, and The Avengers). What did she like, what did she find boring, and does it bring the same smile to her face like it did her dad when he first saw this movies over a decade ago?

Happy Birthday Ruby!!! Making her annual birthday appearance, Ruby brings this animated crossover event that loosely uses the word "crossover." There are tons of characters, voiced by legendary voice actors, who have crossed-over before. This time they go up against a one-time Superman villain from the comics who could make an interesting villain for these characters. So how does this one stack up? And exactly what does DC and Warner Bros. think a crossover is?

Our March Madness rolls on as James Brooks (Interview with a Horror Virgin) and Laramy Wells continue to march through Swamp Thing as they discuss The Return of Swamp Thing. This campy sequel to the 1982 Wes Craven film takes a completely different tone to the big green monster. With the return of Dick Durock as the titular hero, Louis Jordain as the villainous Arcane, and Heather Locklear as Abby Arcane; this film takes "tree hugger" to a new level!

About 1656 minutes... over 27 hours of a TV show from the 90s based on two very campy movies from the 80s... and Laramy watched it all. It's time for our MARCH through Swamp Thing to visit the TV shows of Swamp Thing. From the 1990s USA Network series that last 3 years for 72 episodes to the 2019 DC Universe series that was canceled after its first episode and ended after 10 episodes; Laramy Wells and Chad Smith have a lot to discuss. These two extremely different shows with completely different stories to tell, have our hosts discussing the ups and downs of these two series. This may be a One Shot, but we treat it like a full review.

March Madness 2022 is underway as we talk all things Swamp Thing!! Tim Williams from the 80s Flick Flashback (fitting since this movie came out in 1982) sits down with Laramy to discuss this cult classic. Ten years following "Swamp Thing" #1, director Wes Craven (pre-A Nightmare on Elm Street) took the reigns of this secondary, but very important, character from DC Comics. It's a PG movie that really should be rated R and has an alternate cut that actually WOULD be rated R!

It's a BONUS EPISODE!! We couldn't allow any more time go by without discussing The Batman!! Laramy is joined by Tim Williams (80s Flick Flashback) and first timer Ron West. They will discuss the darkest... grittiest superhero movie yet! How does Robert Pattinson handle the cape and cowl? What did they think about the almost 3 hour runtime? Is this movie better than The Dark Knight?

CORRECTIONS: Laramy incorrectly calls the movie Barton Fink, by the name Barton Fisk (which is a easy mistake for a comic book fan who watched Hawkeye).

It's Valentine's Day!! Laramy is joined by his lovely wife Bethany for their annual Valentine Date Night movie!! This year, it was Bethany's pick and she chose the 1968 cult classic, Barbarella!!! Jane Fonda stars in this unusual adaptation of a French comic strip. It is a very sexualized comic and movie which gave Bethany and Laramy much to discuss. Laramy focuses on the bizarre story while Bethany explains the feminist perspective of the character.

Content warning for suggestive and sexual dialogue. We kept the episode as clean as we could.

"The movie that shall not be named" is finally being named and discussed. Laramy and Blake do not hold back discussing this polarizing film. From an over-saturated cast of characters to a weak story to horrible CGI; this movie puts a bad taste in Laramy's mouth. They definitely have a lot to say and a ton of questions. Whether you agree or disagree about this movie, you'll have a fun time listening to this one.

This might be the most realistic movie we've discussed on the show. We recorded this before the passing of Richard Donner. Laramy and Tim returned to share their thoughts on Richard Donner at the beginning of the episode.

It's Part 2 of a crossover event with the 80's Flick Flashback podcast to discuss Superman II: The Donner Cut! Check out Part 1 from a week ago on the 80's Flick Flashback!

Decades before #ReleasetheSnyderCut flooded the Internet, another DC superhero movie experienced a similar story. After being removed as the director of Superman II, Richard Donner moved on; however in the early 2000s fans discovered that Donner had almost finished the movie and demanded Warner Brothers release The Donner Cut. Using footage from the theatrical release, television edits, and even screen tests; a determined editor put together the closest thing we could get to Richard Donner's original vision of the sequel to the grandfather of all superhero movies. Laramy and Tim discussed the theatrical version on the 80's Flick Flashback podcast and now they are discussing the Donner Cut!

For this Memorial Day episode of Moving Panels, Laramy shares his thoughts on the 7-issue collection of stories known as Captain America: Theater of War. There are ups and downs but overall Laramy felt that this was a good way to pay tribute to those who gave all and those who sacrifice so much for our country. The episode concludes with a playing of Taps. Twenty-four notes. It's a simple melody, 150 years old, that can express our gratitude when words fail. Taps honors the men and women who have laid down their lives and paid the ultimate sacrifice for the cause of freedom. Fair winds and following seas, shipmates. This version of taps was recorded by the United States Navy Band at the following locations: Display Ship Barry, Washington Navy Yard U.S. Navy Memorial, Washington, D.C. Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. The original audio can be found here.

Blake enjoys Keanu Reeves but is this a good performance? Find out if they used any elements from the comics, which characters they used, and the connection the filmmakers had with the comic!

"I know him!"

After the much despised Thor: The Dark World, the Thor movies went in a different direction with Thor: Ragnarok. Ironically enough, this colorful and humorous film took its inspirations from some of the darkest Thor and Hulk comics. Laramy and Deanna praise director Taika Waititi's vision of the characters, the creative use of the original stories, and how much they each want more of The Hulk! It's a fun ride through one of the best the MCU has to offer.

It's a Moving Panel Monday!! To kick off 2021, Laramy and his wife Bethany discuss the "rarely known as a comic book movie"... Josie and the Pussycats! Take a walk down memory lane as Laramy and Bethany discuss this "time capsule" of the early 2000s. Bethany shares her love for the movie, the soundtrack, and the characters; while Laramy points out the hypocritical nature of the film and how the film didn't really have an audience. Though the connections to the comics are faint, Laramy will provide the background to the Josie comic from the world of Archie Comics. Bethany talks about her dislike of one of the characters and how this movie didn't need a love interest. And both of them laugh about the product placement and DuJour. Because, in this episode, DuJour means fun!

Death and superheroes tend to go hand and hand. Whether the death is part of a superhero's origin story or is the ultimate end of their story; deaths are key elements in a well-written story. But how have the movies and television shows handled them? Which ones were done well and which ones just left us with a shrug? On this One Shot, Blake Fowler returns to provide his best and most impactful superhero movie death and which ones he feels didn't really mean much or have much impact. Laramy and Blake will narrow down their lists and provide the Moving Panels official decision on the Best and Worst Deaths in a Comic Book Movie or TV Show!

The Ultimate Showdown is here! It's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Laramy is joined once again by Blake Fowler to discuss this highly anticipated film that was designed to kick off the collaboration of DC characters in the DCEU. Bringing the DC Trinity together (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman) in one movie has to be great...right? Laramy defends Superman's character while Blake defends Batman's Knightmare. And they both question casting choices. They discuss the connections with comics like Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns," "Batman: Year One," and the "Death of Superman" storyline. It's an exciting ride as a Superman fan and Batman fan discuss this epic showdown!

Welcome to Moving Panels One Shots! Where we discuss a single topic to air between full episodes.

Guest host Tim Williams returns to discuss whether or not the CW's Arrowverse should make a step up into the DC Extended Universe movies. After seeing many DC connections in the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" mini-series, and the DCEU's Flash meet the CW's Flash... the door has been opened. But should it happen? Would it improve the movies or weaken the TV shows? Should DC learn from Marvel or could they do it better?

On this extended One Shot, Laramy chats with his best friend of nearly 20 years, Chad, to discuss a few of the upcoming movies and TV shows inspired by, based on, and adapted from the world of comic books. With the recent pandemic, many of these movies have been delayed. Do the guys think this has hurt the business or is the excitement still at a peak? Which ones are they most excited about and which will they ignore?

NOTE: This episode was actually much longer (almost 2 hours however a typical conversation between these two can take about 3 hours) and so their discussions about Morbius, Black Adam, The Suicide Squad, Venom 2, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Disney+'s "What if..." were cut for time.

On this episode, Laramy Wells and Kim Cheek discuss the Captain America movie from 1990... that didn't come out until 1992.

Laramy and Kim talk about the poor production, bad accents, and yet a stellar supporting cast. With actors from A Christmas Story and Deliverance, and starring the son of a famous author, you'd think it would be better. Laramy shares his fondness for the costume even with a little problem with the ears. Kim discusses how horrible Cap is as a hero and how Sharon should have her own movie. "Bag it, Stack it, or Trade it" will not be surprising on this one.

On this episode Laramy is joined by Bat-fanatic Blake Fowler to discuss Batman Forever.

Laramy and Blake start the conversation in a Superman vs Batman debate and then dive into this VERY comic book stylized movie. The discussion covers the homage to the 60s TV show, the stiff hero, the over-the-top villains, the confusing sidekick, Riddler's blender and Bat-nipples! "Bag it," "Stack it," or "Trade it" isn't shocking even for this movie.

Hang out at the end for a little blooper!

In this episode, Laramy is joined by Deanna Thomas to discuss the crossover event that is X-Men: Days of Future Past. They discuss this 7th film in Fox's X-Men franchise and how reuniting the different casts helped fix some continuity errors but also how it created more. Laramy shares the connections with the 1981 storyline from "The Uncanny X-Men" #141-142 and how the movie both improved the story and how different it is in the movie. Deanna continually shares her love for the Wolverine movies and both Laramy and Deanna remind us how bad X-Men: The Last Stand really was. Join us for what might be the best X-Men movie (not Wolverine movie) Fox has made!

Welcome to Moving Panels!!! On this inaugural episode, host Laramy Wells sits down with Tim Williams from the 80's Flick Flashback podcast to discuss Superman: The Movie!

Laramy is a huge Superman fan and has strong feelings about this iconic movie. Laramy and Tim discuss the amazing Christopher Reeve and how he brought to life the greatest superhero the world has ever known. From the very science fiction opening, to the emotional death of Jonathan Kent, to the over-the-top but brilliant performance by Gene Hackman of Lex Luthor to reversing time; they go deep into their discussion. They get a little nit-picky finding flaws with this movie but have a fun time doing it.
