This interview took place back in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown . Olando Rivera was raised a Roman Catholic and became a born again Christian in adult life. He shares his experiences becoming a world champion kickboxer, overcoming almost losing his leg in a motorcycle accident, and how he devotes his time to working with autistic children.

The Baptism of Jesus

The Rich Man and Lazarus

Romans 5:1-5

Matthew 16:27

Easter is the time of year in which Christians celebrate the victorious resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after His crucifixion. In the Christian faith Jesus Christ is the son of God (aka God the Son), who willingly gave himself up to die on the cross for all our sins, as the spotless and unblemished sacrificial lamb of God. In doing so, He paid the price forall men and women, conquering sin and redeeming us, so that they who receive Him as Lord and Savior shall never perish but shall know eternal life in Heaven. For this reason, Christians take Easter very seriously as the main observance in their calendar which defines their faith as all of Christianity and the heart of the Gospel (translated: Good News) revolvesaround the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-4
3 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
Philippians 4:6-7

Jesus Announces the Good News

The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. 9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.
26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

The Great Commission

John 11:1-44
11 Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. 2 (This Mary, whose brother Lazarus now lay sick, was the same one who poured perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair.) 3 So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.”
4 When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” 5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. 6 So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days, 7 and then he said to his disciples, “Let us go back to Judea.”
8 “But Rabbi,” they said, “a short while ago the Jews there tried to stone you, and yet you are going back?”
9 Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Anyone who walks in the daytime will not stumble, for they see by this world’s light. 10 It is when a person walks at night that they stumble, for they have no light.”
11 After he had said this, he went on to tell them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.”
12 His disciples replied, “Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better.” 13 Jesus had been speaking of his death, but his disciples thought he meant natural sleep.
14 So then he told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead, 15 and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.”
16 Then Thomas (also known as Didymus[a]) said to the rest of the disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with him.”
Luke 12:22-34
22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life[a]? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
27 “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! 29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
32 “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
13 People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” 16 And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.
Matthew 10:32-33
32 “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.

Acts 9:1-19
Saul’s Conversion
9 Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. 3 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”
5 “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.
“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. 6 “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
7 The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. 8 Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. 9 For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.
10 In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision, “Ananias!”
“Yes, Lord,” he answered.
11 The Lord told him, “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. 12 In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.”
13 “Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem. 14 And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”
15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”
17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, 19 and after taking some food, he regained his strength.

Acts 5:34-39
34 But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be put outside for a little while. 35 Then he addressed the Sanhedrin: “Men of Israel, consider carefully what you intend to do to these men. 36 Some time ago Theudas appeared, claiming to be somebody, and about four hundred men rallied to him. He was killed, all his followers were dispersed, and it all came to nothing. 37 After him, Judas the Galilean appeared in the days of the census and led a band of people in revolt. He too was killed, and all his followers were scattered. 38 Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. 39 But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.”
Acts 4:12

The Parables of the Hidden Treasure and the Pearl
44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
The Greatest Commandment
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[c] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[d] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralyzed Man
9 Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town. 2 Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”
3 At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming!”
4 Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? 5 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 6 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” 7 Then the man got up and went home.
Mark 12:41-44
The Widow’s Offering
41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.
43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

The Boy Jesus at the Temple
41 Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. 42 When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. 43 After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. 44 Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. 45 When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. 46 After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. 48 When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.”
49 “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”[a] 50 But they did not understand what he was saying to them.
51 Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
MATTHEW 5:21-22
21 “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder,[a] and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ 22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister[b][c] will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’[d] is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.
Mark 3:1-6
Jesus Heals on the Sabbath
3 Another time Jesus went into the synagogue, and a man with a shriveled hand was there. 2 Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath. 3 Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Stand up in front of everyone.”
4 Then Jesus asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.
5 He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored. 6 Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus.
Matthew 5:14-16
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
The Parables of the Mustard Seed and the Yeast
31 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. 32 Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”
33 He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds[b] of flour until it worked all through the dough.”
34 Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable. 35 So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet:
“I will open my mouth in parables,
I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world.”[c]
John 11:38-44Jesus Raises Lazarus From the Dead
38 Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance. 39 “Take away the stone,” he said.
“But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.”
40 Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”
41 So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”
43 When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.
Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”

When it comes to God, there is only one truth. Christ. Any religion that pursues God through other means, is predicated on lies. They are Godless. They are lost. They have no future. But, Jesus invitation is to all people of all nations to unconditionally except His saving Grace.

The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant

We will leave this world as naked as we entered it. No earthly possessions will go with us. We will leave our money, our possessions, our cars, our family, our pets, our estates, our jobs, and we will have lost nothing and we will have gained everything!
We will be in the presence of God and reunited with our family members who have gone before us. Imagine the questions we will finally get answered! Imagine what it will be like to meet Jesus in a way that we have yet to experience. Imagine meeting, His disciples, David, Moses, Joseph and Mary. Not to mention we will leave will leave behind, fear, boredom, worry, anger, frustration, anxiety, stress, insecurity, pride, sadness, grief. We will experience never ending joy. We will experience God’s glory in a way that we have never felt it before. And it will neverget boring.
Romans 8:26-27
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
Many are aware of the miraculous conversion of the Apostle Paul, who went from hunting down, enslaving, and murdering Christians, to becoming the super Apostle who planted over 14 and wrote almost a quarter of the New Testament. Paul dedicated his life to Christ, and died a martyr. However, we have had some pretty amazing conversions in moderntimes.
Will my salvation in Christ be a hall pass to sin?
No. A hall pass is permission given in advance. Jesus does not give us permission to sin. As saved Christians we will always struggle with sin, but we will avoid indulging in sin. Christ covers our struggle with sin. For those who proclaim that they are saved Christians, but they indulge in sin, they run the risk that they are demonstrating evidence that their faith was not sincere in the first place. If you were released from prison,would you periodically run back into your cell and close the door? If you were cured of lung cancer would youperiodically light up a pack of cigarettes? If your parents promised to pay your college debt, would you take advantage of them and take a limousine to school and eat at expensive restaurants and buy expensive clothes everyday? Of course not. As saved Christians we endeavor to avoid sin, we struggle with sin. But out of respect, reverence, and fear ofGod, we dare not indulge in sin. We say ‘yes’ to what God wants us to do, and ‘no’ to what our bodies, minds, and egos want to do, in those moments where what they want to do is wrongful.
There, is no self-interest, self development, or greater self edification, than the transformation that takes place when youare born-again in Christ. All too many people put off what is most important until tomorrow, only to find out that there is no tomorrow!
Do not take for granted the time you have, to be saved in Jesus. If not now…when?
Jesus says to you:
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” – Matthew 5:33
It is Christmas time again! Culturally speaking, it has become a tradition where many take time out of their routine to end the calendar year with a celebration of friends and family. Spiritually speaking, it is a time where Christians commemorate the prophesied birth of their lord and savior, Jesus Christ. 700 years before the birth of Christ, the Hebrew Prophet Isaiah prophesied the details and specifics about Jesus’ birth, which all came true one glorious night in a little town called Bethlehem, located about 6 miles South of Jerusalem. For Christians, the significance of Christ’s birth is ideally expressed in the New Testament of The Holy Bible, in the Gospel (which means the good news) of John chapter 3, verse 16, quoting Jesus himself who said: “For God so loved the world, that he sent His only son. That all those who believe on Him shall never know death, only eternal life.” Christmas is a time of the year to catch up with loved ones and pause to recognize what is truly precious in our lives and appreciate those who we cherish, and to acknowledge those who require our charity. Many express this through giving of gifts to one another, and to those in need. But in keeping with the holiday’s name’s sake: Christ-mas (Christ’s mass - which means: to spend time with God and receive his graces) let us remember Jesus’ teaching not only of His eternal salvation, but that everyone and anyone who is not of our own family or beliefs - is our neighbor, and should be received on the basis of charity, mercy, tolerance, non-judgement, and, forgiveness, not only at Christmas but every day of the year. Is the devil real or a metaphor for evil?
The devil is real. He is an angel who attempted to rebel againstGod. His angelic name was Lucifer. But when he was cast out of Heaven for his rebellion, he became known by his function: Satan = adversary / enemy. Satan is a coward. Satan and his demons (fallen angels) have a mission which is to hurt the heart of God by tempting Gods children to sin and tormenting humankind to distract them away from the saving Grace of Jesus Christ. God permits this as part of the evil and suffering which has a purpose in this world. To drive us to the foot of the cross humbly for His salvation.
Jesus reassures us:
“You are the salt of the earth…” – Matthew 5:13
We are under his care and His protection, and we have His authority to renounce Satan bu the authority of the name of Jesus.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
– Matthew 5:8
How do I pray?
From the heart! It does not have to be fancy. Just faith filled. We pray to God in the form of thanking, adoring, and worshipping Him, confessing our sins, and apologizing to Him, and asking Him to supply for our needs. Like any responsible father, God answers our prayers as per His plan, and His will in our lives. God has the long-term betterment of our eternal souls at heart; thus, our prayers are not always answered in the manner we would always prefer at the time that we asked for them. Other times our prayers are answered miraculously. Rest assured God hears all prayers. Jesus taught that we pray only to our‘Heavenly Father’ in Jesus’ name.

Whydoes God permit evil and suffering?
Are you ready for this? Evil, and suffering…has a purpose. They drive us to Jesus. God has deemed that suffering on Earth is necessary. Without evil we would have no bearing for Goodness and righteousness. To do away with suffering and evil is to do away with mankind’s free will. It is part of our sanctification to trust in Christ in the face of suffering. Justas we would not appreciate the light of the day without experiencing the dark of the night, without a life of suffering we would be ignorant to the value of Heaven. For those saved in Christ:
We experience reasonable happiness in thislife, and SUPREME HAPPINESS in the next life!
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.”
– Matthew 5:7
Are Heaven and Hell real places?
Yes. Heaven and Hell are real places. They are destinations. Our souls are eternal and when our bodiesdie, our eternal souls will go before the Lord for judgement. Those who are justified in Christ go to God. Those who rejected Christ shall go to eternal damnation without God. To do nothing is to reject Christ. God, in His word, refers to these two destinations as Heaven and Hell. There is no opting out of this. There is no choosing to sit on the sidelines. ThroughChrist’s salvation, God forgives all our sin, past, present, and future. If I am saved in Christ and then I mess up, what then?
You recover, dust yourself off, confess your regret to God, make amends, pray for His strength and support, and place one foot in front of the other and carry on with your walk of faith.
Once you are saved in Christ, you cannot be unsaved. Nobody can take you out of God’s hand. There is no reason to get discouraged or defeated. When we are weak, He is strong for us.
What is the deal with sin?
Sin is any wrongdoing that offends God or hurts the heart of God. Sin puts our eternal souls at risk. All sin is equally offensive to God. There is no grading system. It is all equally bad. We sin through actions, inactions, thoughts, and words. All sin is forgivable by God if we are saved in Christ. Accept one. The sin of going to our graves rejecting Christ. Remember the swimmerwho consigned himself to the watery grave? Christ never sinned. God is aware of all our sins. Jesus died for us to save us from the eternal torment we would suffer because of our sins. Our justification in Christ saves us. Our sanctification in Christ fortifies us from Sin.
God says to you:
“I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and yoursins like mist; return to me, for I have redeemed you.”
– Isaiah 44:22
Uh…Justificationin Jesus?
When we are saved (aka) born again in Jesus, through His Grace we are instantaneously justified. By way of justification, we are immediately moved from a state of sin to a state of Grace, from a state of injustice to a state of justice, from a state of death in sin, to a state of life in God’s righteousness. We become part of his kingdom right now, and when our bodies eventually die our spirits will go before the Lord to be judged. Those justified in Christ will not be condemned for their sins. We will spend eternity with God in paradise.
Jesus says toyou:

In today’s reading Paul instructs us to not conform to this world. The reason that he tells us this, is that this world is a fallen world. We are toconform to The Holy Spirit. He tells us to be transformed by the renewal of our mind. He means by this that we refuse to live life through the lens of our worldliness, our woundedness, our sinfulness, our traumas, or by the opinions or notions of others. Rather we live our lives through the lens of God the Holy Spirit’s guidance and direction. He continues with “that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” When we refuse to conform to the patterns of this world, we welcome the counsel of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, in all matters, when we test them, The Holy Spirit empowers us to discern three things in particular which God wills for us, that they be good, acceptable, and perfect.

He means by this that we refuse to live life through the lens of our worldliness, our woundedness, our sinfulness, our traumas, or by the opinions or notions of others. Rather we live our lives through the lens of God the Holy Spirit’s guidance and direction. He continues with “that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” When we refuse to conform to the patterns of this world, we welcome the counsel of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, in all matters, when we test them, The Holy Spirit empowers us to discern three things in particular which God wills for us, that they be good, acceptable, and perfect.
18All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. - 2 Corinthians 5:18-19

No obstacles, challenges, problems, or hardships that the world presents, truly matters relative to your eternal soul. No disease, no addiction, no tragedy, no heartbreak, no financial or employment problem, truly matters, relative to yours and my eternal soul. Receive the saving Grace of Jesus and devote yourself to Him. Not as a part of your life, but as your life. Do this and the Holy Spirit will dwell within you, The Holy Spirit inhabits you, and he will guide and direct you to Godly, Holy, righteous things. This is the way to eternal freedom. For those listening today who have yet to receive our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into your hearts, there are no obstacles. You can make your choice right now to turn your back on any doubts and choose out of faith to repent, which is to change direction from walking away from God to the direction of walking with our glorious Christ, God the Son. This means yield and dedicate yourself to the Lord, the Holy Spirit will dwell within you, counsel you, and guide you. When you receive Christ, with all your heart as your Lord and Savior, you become a new creation in Christ. All our sins past, present, and future are forgiven and forgotten by God. In this life, who can we truly rely on above all others? We can only rely on dependence on Christ alone. Do this and you will be dead to sin, and you shall have eternal life. Nobody has or will ever love you as much as our loving God.

It is a rebirth and life in Christ.
The struggle for believers is not conforming to the world’s patterns. Thereby keeping our hearts and minds open to listen to the guidance of The Holy Spirit dwelling in us. This enables us to endeavor to be as sin free as we possibly can despite the weakness of our flesh, of our, pride, our tempers, are bodily and mental compulsions. Jesus said during the Sermon on the Mount;
35 The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. – John 8:34-36
The point is some people have felt abandoned by their churches, others have known some Christians who are rulesy, hypocritical people who judge, others as though their Christianity makes them superior in status to others. And sadly, many Christians have fallen into this mode of behavior towards one another or towards those who they should be loving and sharing the Gospel with rather than being haughty with. Sadly, this actually creates in many an aversion to being part of a church fellowship. My brothers and sisters, the church is the body of those who love and serve God, who love and serve each other. It is as though many have forgotten that Jesus was the sacrifice for our sins. He took on our punishment and gave His life physically, spiritually, supernaturally, so that through Him we shall have eternal life.
It is not about religion. It is about a relationship. It is not about what we do, it is about who we become in Christ. When we believe the truth of the Gospel which is that we are saved in Christ, and that God the Holy Spirit dwells in us, we can open our ears and our minds, and our hearts to The Holy Spirits counsel and guidance in our lives. This is the only way to walk in the Spirit, who will be our strength when we are weak in our struggle with our human frailty. Christ is our freedom. The Gospel is truth. When we faithfully receive Christ we are baptized by the Holy Spirit transforming us to His righteousness. We become dead to sin, and alive in Christ. We become part of His kingdom now for all eternity, and when the Lord calls us home, we will go to His Heavenly kingdom in spirit. We are not saved by our deeds or behavior. We are only saved by Christ’s Grace.

As saved Christians we are to take up our own cross, expect persecution for our faith, and attacks of oppression and harassment from the enemy. We give our lives to Christ when (in accordance with the scriptures) we choose to accept Christ as our Lord and Savior.
We are called to obedience by our omnipotent, omnipresent, andomniscient God. A God to be loved,obeyed, feared, and devoted to exclusively. God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is ourauthority. The Word is our authoritativestandard, and The Word tells us repeatedly, that in all things, we are advisedtime and again that our salvation is in Christ and Christ alone. That he brings all things together for thegood of those who love him. Let us havecomplete faith that no matter what ails us, no matter what befalls us, nomatter how disheartening the state of the world is, no matter how many of ourown religious leaders fall prey to the enemy, and in doing so sin or performevil, let us have absolute faith in God, and know that his plan for us is forthe long game. The betterment andsalvation of eternal souls.
El Shaddai (Lord God Almighty) gave us the gift of individual talents for a reason. When we have the privilege to be called by our divine and all-powerful God to utilize those talents in His service, we must do so without hesitation. He calls us quite often at moments when we are at our worst or we have hit rock bottom. And when called we springboard back. By his wisdom and brilliance, we are redeemed, and we must obediently respond to his commission.
Faith is about diving headfirst into the deep end. Choosing Christ as your Lord and Savior is not about, trying religion on for size as a fad and seeing if it is comfortable and pleasing. Forget about religion. I am talking about a relationship between you and God. This involves admitting that we are sinners and that we cannot save ourselves. It means accepting God’s call of obedience and walking with him. It is a declaration to God “I cannot do this on my own. I need you. You are the way the truth and the life. There is salvation in no one else! I unconditionally give myself to you. I am your disciple! I am your servant! I am your child? Put me to work Lord!”
Our relationship with God is not a get out of jail freecard. Our relationship with God is notan insurance policy just in case He is real. Our relationship wth God is not a nice to have, it is a must have. In fact our relationship with God is the mostimportant priority in our lives. Hecomes before all others.
My brothers and sisters, there is a distinction betweenhaving doubts, and choosing to disbelieve. You can have doubts and still give yourself to Christ. Why? Becauseas Paul states in 1 Corinthians 13:9-12:
“For we know in part,and we prophesy in part. But when thatwhich is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away…For nowwe see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; butthen shall I know even as also I am known.”
Be courageous and bold and turn your back on doubts and receiveChrist on the basis of repentance and faith. He has never given up on you. Don’tgive up on Him. Your soul is eternal. You are going to be spending eternity somewhere. There are only two places that we go. There is no opting our of this. You too can become part of Christ’s eternalkingdom right now, by making a sincere and genuine choice of your free-will, aheartfelt choice to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, strength, andmight. God’s gifts are infinite and beyondmeasure.

Easter, is the celebration of the victorious ressurection ofJesus Christ, His triumph over sin, and our eternal life with Him in Paradise. Christ is the Son of God. God the Son. One of the three person’s in God the Father, God the Son, and God theHoly Spirit. Christ has alwaysbeen. He came to us in the flesh as manas prophesized. He came as thesacrifical lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. He died on the cross as the sacrifice for oursins. He was betrayed and abandoned by those He loved, He was handed over tothe Romans by the Hebrew religious auuthorities, He was brutally tortured andput to death through crucifixion. Yousee, my brothers and sisters, He offered Himself and willingly went to Hisdeath as the sacrificial lamb, who took all of our sins upon Himself. Hetook your sin and my sin upon himself, and died for you and me, to save us frometernal torment. 3 days later, hemiraculously rose from the dead.
All those who yield and dedicate themselves to the LordJesus, receiving Him into their hearts as Lord and Savior, as the personalsavior of their lives, are saved by His sacrifice. We share in His glorious kingdom. His invitation is to all people of allnations. There is only one trueGod. Only one true way. And that way is your Lord Jesus. To all of those listening. Your soul is eternal. There is no opting out of this. Only through the Lord Jesus Christ do youspend that eterntity with Him. And hereis something to consider further. Youcan become part of His glorious kingdom right now, here on Earth, when you giveyourself to Christ as Lord of your life.

When we take into consideration how almighty, how unimaginably great, how all-powerful God is, it is inconceivable that anyone would reject God, or tempt God through hurtful statements in writing or spoken. God is all powerful, and His capacity to love cannot be measured in human terms.
Jesus says in Mark 10:8-12
“’And the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.’”
God recognizes a marriage as being a covenant in the form of a life-long union between two people and Himself, in which both parties enter it with sincere heart, and God knows their hearts. A covenant is a binding promise. A contract. A mutual understanding with common purpose, a common goal, and it is witnessed and spiritually signed, and stamped by God.
A sacrament is a ceremony imparting God’s divine grace upon a party. Is marriage a sacrament? Yes, the marriage ceremony is a sacrament, and that sacrament commences the lifelong covenant.
Marriage is to be God centered, it is to be cherished as sacred, and it is to be respected, protected, and treated as Holy not only by the married couple, but by all.
Heavenly and Merciful Father in Heaven,
We pray for the sanctity of all God centered marriages. I pray in the name of our Lord Jesus. Amen.
When we experience human suffering and injustice, it can be very difficult to trust God and not act from our fear and pride. We might even get angry with God at times with our personal suffering, or with the disgusting state of the world. However, we are best to turn to God for answers during these times as opposed to behave as though we are in a relationship with God with one foot pointed towards the door each time we are scared or discouraged. This world is a necessary part of our walk with God. We must remain steadfast in our devotion in God and His love for us, in our Lord Jesus’ sacrifice, His miraculous signs, and his Passion and Resurrection. God is aware of all suffering and evil in the world. No form of evil has any power over God. This world is fallen and evil and is the enemy’s domain. It is that way by design and it serves a purpose.
If you feel that the world hates you, feel validated! For Christ said:
“I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.” - John 17:14

Reverend Lionel Fanthorpe is an Anglican Priest, author of 250 books, television program host, and has frequently been a guest on international television, making 21 television appearances and numerous radio programs. Reverend Fanthorpe was the Director of Religious Studies at The Cardiff Academy in South Whales. He has been a periodic favorite guest, on Coast to Coast AM, the world’s top syndicated AM talk radio program.
His qualifications include a Government Teaching Certificate from Cambridge University's Institute of Education with an Advanced Main Subject Distinction, an Upper Second Class BA Honours Degree, Fellowship of the College of Preceptors (equivalent to a Masters degree) and Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Management (equivalent to an MBA or an M.Sc in Management Science).
Yielding and dedicating ourselves to the Lord means that we are loyal to the Lord before all others. That we endeavor towards impressing God before impressing all others in our words, behaviors, habits, actions, and thoughts. That we never compromise our love for God and walk of faith for anyone, even if it means incurring a great personal loss.
As God’s children who are saved in Christ, we receive one another on the basis of repentance and faith. With a full commitment of our lives to Christ. This is discipleship. And it requires complete humility. When we catch ourselves being ‘haughty’. Let us humble ourselves. When we catch ourselves believing that we are ‘bougie’, we are off the mark, let us humble ourselves. When we catch ourselves gossiping, let us stop judging and humble ourselves. When we are negative, miserable, and impatient with others, we are falling short of Christ’s standard, we need to humble ourselves. Our discipleship commitment to Christ is to be even stronger than our commitment to people in our lives whom there is nothing that we wouldn’t do. As a parent, I would die in my child’s stead. That level of passion and conviction is how we are to love and to serve the Lord.
Just think of the countless opportunities each day to tell God how much we love Him by glorifying Him through self restraint, tolerance, mercy, and love. Especially when we are not feeling these things.
The ends do not justify the means. Our Christian walk determines the means. Our pride and temperament do not justify the means. Christ in us determines the means.
I am talking about allowing the Holy Spirit to shine within us. And if not now, when?
What an opportunity to glorify God! By being Christ-like to anyone no matter how they behave, or to stop any gateway habits that lead to sin.
The more mindful we attempt to be to His presence, the better we will get at it. The more we give into sin, the more we will feel a distance. It is not that God distances Himself from us. It is that we distance ourselves from Him. But the more we resist sin, the stronger we will be at resisting it and the more we shall allow the Holy Spirit who indwells within us to be Lord over our lives.
Surrendering to Christ. Our obligation to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us. How do we do that?
