Well well well, here we are another week gone by and chatting all things leofinance once again.
With only a 30 minute window for today's show we focused on answering user questions.
The Rapid Fire Q&A Session! Here are some of the questions:
The leofinance marketing DHF proposal has passed! Last week it was at 15MM power and now it surpassed the 24MM level to reach approval.
Evergreen stuff is being rolled out that is on the docket next in the sooniverse.
The answer is NOW. HTML functionality is live.
And so much more...
But you have to listen to the recording!
Well, after a two week hiatus by the Cat there is much to catch up on as the Sooniverse becomes NOW at a blistering pace!
Recap on some things that have happened before we touch on what is in the works!
On to what is coming up SOON:
LPUD got a new approach:
With the price rise, lower inflation, less liquid out there, and 5M+ Leo powered up in a year, LPUD gets ranks now:
This will give users a chance to participate even if they can't power up 150 month after month. The badge and the full prize array is still only available for 150 power ups, but there are some prizes for the Cub attack -> LPUD adapts to the new LeoVerse growth scenario.
Community Feedback and Help...
Anyone can post to any community now from leofinance.io, help us spread the word and try using leofinance for everything. We know habits are strong, but step out of your comfort zone!
Again: We need your feedback, check this post to participate:
https://leofinance.io/@leofinance/a-call-for-feedback-what-do-you-want-to-see-added-to-leofinanceio-next
This episode is very special because we go in-depth with everything related to our latest partnership with OnixCoin and their flagship game, Army of Crypto.
We also go in-depth about what is going on in the LeoVerse at the moment.
And to finish, we have a couple community members come in and ask questions live!
Definitely a show you don't want to miss!
Lion Stronk! What a great past week of updates and growth.A Review of What Is and Was:+ AdSense in the mix -> more personalized regionalized ads are not hitting your page!+ The Zealy prize pool was mostly powered up, and those who sold, the market gobbled their LEO and we're back at 8c already -> leo stronk.+ The Ad revenue display on Threads launched on the last call and is pretty cool feature. Remember that this feature is coming to Long Form as well.LPUD came and went
227k Powered Up and 179 Lion powered up atleast 150 leo.
The goal was 200 but maybe the price of Leo played a role here, a ton of people powered up 50-100 leo as well
June LPUD saw the second most number or lions power up. Price action - 140% up from YTD Low (0.033c in March)The first Curation reports are out! They will come out every Sunday, follow @leo-curation and add the account to your autovotes, it helps us reward curators! Once a month, @leofinance will post a mega-monthly report.Coming updates:
Discord future updates: #resources, #roadmap, #tutorials are coming!+ AdRev is looking to be around 5k/month
We are advancing on NFTs - > concept is almost done, use cases being worked on, backend being taken care of ....Soon.
We have "Info points" and "ambassadors" solving questions on discord now, the team is now made of ~15 Lions who help grow the LeoVerse through many mini-initiatives - curation is a big one of them!Leo runway for operations is still multi-year with a basket of stables, bitcoin and ETH held.Updates on LeoCacheLeoCache is going to solve tons of problems, such as the scroll not keeping up. This will be implemented SOON.New updates on the UI?
Trading League is live, no official announcement out yet though. This first one is a test to see how it works. You can come play and try to break stuff here:https://sanr.app/clubs/LeoFinanceMarketwatch
BTC Dominance at 50% for the first time in 2 years! Price is back above 27k!
Blackrock's ETF application- they have rarely ever received a denial
BNB chain starts testnet on their L2 powered by Optimism
IMF doubles down on CBDCs and envisions a single ledger cross-border payment platformAnother Roaring Week in LeoFinance (yeah, I said that lol)
The Wensoon Show 196Price of LEO is skyrocketing! Leo keeps pushing higher the past few weeks and it continues to look strong: + Between the new UI, new tokenomics, community loyalty and the Gamification side all created a huge synergy that has $leo on and uptrend contrary to the whole market, we mooning.Zealy came to an end: cardiac finish!
No keyword this week, but SOON
People already miss their quests, miss their hustling. Good news though - Zealy is here to stay! So instead of missing the grind use this time to rest cause on the 18th the grind begins again!
Lpud is coming.
May was a record month for Leo powered up! Nearly 1.5M thanks to Zealy quests and the team powering up. So for June we have the goal is having 200 Lions or more powerup atleast 150 LEO. No total Leo goal cus Lions are dry… or are they? Either way, power up at least 150 Leo and do your part!UI and Ad Revs
View counters on threads and ad rev generated by the threads is a thing now. It breaks down how many people saw it capped at 3 views per dynamic IP so it’s not rigged. This also adds another layer or gamification that goes even one step further than Twitter!+ The new long form discovery layout went live and it’s beautiful, users can see either Leo Finance or the whole Hive Blockchain. So cool!Crypto Market ChatterThe SEC continues its obvious war against crypto. The blowback they didn't expect was the SEC stabilization act that is not being bandied about.Hive had a huge presence at web3 Berlin this past weekend, Leo even had a small booth so potential users learn about the Leoverse. Big success for the hive ecosytem.Elsewhere, U.S. inflation fell to 4% year over year so most expect the FED not to raise rates. How this impacts crypto remains to be seen.Interesting times per the usual.
Another week gone by and this one was a doozy! The leofinance discord server got hacked and the crypto market sold off (those items aren't exclusively related lol)
Lion StrongAt the end of the day, the leofinance server was down about three hours before everything got rectified. Furthermore the hackers only got $40 from the community from what we have seen.So basically, leofinance 1 hackers 0.This does remind us though that we should never click on random links and that DMs soliciting things do not come from mods.SEC hating again...The SEC filed suit against Binance with multiple charges and then to put icing on the cake...they decided to sue Coinbase as well. The irony in that is coinbase filed suit against the SEC a while back demanding answers from them on what coins are and are not considered securities so that they could be in compliance. Leofinance UpdatesAnd amidst all this week's drama the dev team is still cranking out updates. The latest is notifications. The notifications page is updated for a better user experience.A really cool feature is you can search through your notifications by user if you want to see all the interactions a specific user has done in regard to your content.Login in and actions...Basically everything works great outside of those using hivesigner. That seems to have some bugs still. Bug fix channel on discord to report anything you find.PayoutsPosts now show the payouts in leo and hbd when you hover over the amount. The hbd number is the value of the hive and hbd you are receiving. The text will likely be updated to show "hive rewards" or something to that effect.
After a week away the cat is back! I have Khal giving us all the latest UI updates for leofinance and I gave all my opinions on the long form experience cus we all know I'm an old school blogger!Lions and Threads, Oh My!Long Form new Editor is here - and this cat loves how seamless it is to create posts now.Still a bug here or there but otherwise so much better. Remember, submit bugs to the bug fix channel in discord.Community Polls - Polls are working wonders, 21 communities still thriving and decentralized voting the author of the week. Pretty cool!Payout Display - if you hover over the payout display it will give you a breakdown of it.Leo CurationThe curation update seems to be working well as there is more defined actions on how to have a chance at getting upvotes from the leo acct. The details are listed here on how to best go about it: https://leofinance.io/posts/leofinance/a-complete-overhaul-to-curation-on-leofinance-be-active-and-earn-big-upvotes-32m-hpThreadStorms!Are lions have been getting more active, with a hell of a threadstorm a week ago as you can see the number of lions remains solid while the activity increases. And so much more...
But you gotta watch the replay if you want it all as cat can't type that fast!
What an awesome week in the leofinance ecosystem! We saw LPUD hit a new record and the inflation rate on LEO get dropped, we'll get into it all below.LPUD Hits New Record!Power up day had a hell of a day with 525K leo being powered up, shattering the prior record of 333k.267 lions powered up and it game from all levels: dolphins, plankton and others.LEO Inflation and BurnsThe inflation rate on LEO dropped from 25k a day to 5k due to burns and the purchase of leo to pay out delegator curation rewards. This trend should continue as the bounty acct needs to buy more leo as delegators continue to grow.Monthly Active UsersLeofinance continues to see growth here as MAUs already hit 1,030 by the halfway mark of the month. There have been 71K threads in May already, crushing the previous record of 43K in February.Curation UpdatesThe way threads are curated has seen some changes and the @leogrowth account is the place to see what that entails. It mainly has to do with limits based on pride rank and such.Other random updatesAccount switching is now live so soon is now. Photo uploading is also live, mainly seems to work fine on desktop - mobile is a wildcard and should be good in the next week or so.Following tab for longform is in the sooniverse, along with editing threads.Crypto Market ChatterBitcoin teased as all and poked below that 27k area support before rallying and forming a reversal candle. Price has not really rallied off that yet, but it also has held the support so it will be interesting to see what happens over the rest of the week with price.Onward and upwardBugs keep getting worked out and features added so the UI expereince continues to get better. Until next time!
This was the break stuff episode as the UI was down during the AMA with live BETA being in Full Force!UpdatesThe Profile has gotten updates as the BLOG link is now live and drafts are good to go as well.Setting page is coming soon with lots more options as well.Zealy Campaign KEYWORD(S)For those who may have missed it, the keyword(s) were announced on the AMA!Here is a link to the replay so you can find them!WEN NODEThe UI is down because leofinance is making to many calls to the HIVE nodes and are being limited or just choking node production.Possible fixes:Create Leofinance's own nodeSpread leofinance calls out amongst all the nodesSounds like option one is being leaned on as going forward it would make sense because volume is only gonna grow.Random CryptoBitcoin is floundering in the mid 27k area near the lower end of it's current trading range. Are we bullish right now, are we bearish. It is up for speculation. This cat thinks we are neither at the moment.
The day is finally here. The new UI is now the live and technically beta as some features still need to be rolled out, but leofinance domain will take you to the new look UI.
Soon is Now!The biggest update into the new UI is the leoinfra update that enables to social logins/sign ups to leofinance.
Zealy Campaign
The zealy campaign is spreading the word as new people are coming in looking to create accounts and some have questions on how too, so lend a helping hand if you see anyone inquiring.
Speaking off zealy, today's keyword is....
Microblogging for the win! Most new users coming in will likely engage in the short form which makes sense. Short-form is easier to engage and should help increase engagement rate.Long Form is Not DeadAs the beta period of the new leofinance progress the accessibility to long form will become easier to find.
I know this cat will still be creating long form content and the trending category will show long form content once all the dust settles.
Sign Up & Account Keys
Multitasking is a mofo. Between trying to write this recap, thread, host the livestream and interact in the discord chat I miss pieces of what Khal is sharing. Oops.
There was a piece of about sign up and login through twitter for example. It sounded like after creating an account, after doing so you can download and change your keys so that leofinance is no longer storing/holding your keys.
On the flipside, you would use your private keys to login and no longer your twitter ID to login.
This makes sense for those who want to use other HIVE based Dapps. For those just looking to interact on leofinace than using twitter ID works just fine, no need to mess withe keys if not desired.
SEO Improvement
With the new UI the SEO ranking will likely improve due to several reasons including internal links, etc.
Leoglossary will be a part of this growth as you will be able to search leoglossary within threads. Thus links from that being used.
LeoAds
The big updates to leoads will be live come later this month, atleast that is the word in the soonerverse.
And so much more
Plenty more was talked about, from current features to coming soon features like personalized feeds (which I really look forward too).
Not all of it made the post, which is why joining us on the call is always the move!
Onward and upward. Let's grow the community.
UI UpdatesThe Leo alpha site continues to get updates as we steam roll toward the May 1st launch.Ads are liveAds are now showing on threads so that revenue generator is off an running in its first instance. There are still many adjustments coming when it comes to ads.One click votingYou can now hit the toggle switch up top to turn on 1 click voting. The default is 5%, but in the future you will be able to customize the weighting.See no links! There is also a toggle switch to hide any threads that have links in them. So if you are sick of seeing link spamming, now you don't have too!Awesome UpdatesI like that all these updates are useful functionality things that users can benefit from. There are plenty more updates comning.Up your roleWhen you hover over someone's user name on threads you will see their role on leofinance and their profile.More leopower you hold, the more baller role you have. Let's all aim to be an Apex Lions!NFT badgesNFT badges is a cool idea. The idea is badges will be earned based on hitting certain milestones or completing certain things. I like this as an add on/upgrade of the roles.Promote Threads! The Zealy campaign is running strong and if you want to conquer the available quests and earn a shot at some $$$ then have at it and help promote LEO while having fun too! Also, 200K worth of HIVE delegations is also up for grabs. @theycallmedan is putting up 100K in delegations as a way to help promote and the @leofinance team is matching him! Here is the discord group for all the details: https://discord.gg/RqGYf9FgYSGeneral Crypto ChatCoinbase flips the script and files lawsuit against the SEC. This should be interesting as coinbase as literally done everything asked of them, filed for every license they were directed to and basically bent over backwards to meet whatever the regulators wanted.Guess they had enough of all that and have basically sent a lawsuit just to demand a yes or no from the SEC so they know how to move forward.Apparently VISA announced they launched an ambitious crypto product roadmap...That's all folks! See you on the next one.
It's a day late, but not a dollar short! The AMA happened on Wednesday, lets blame it on Tax Day for missing the Tuesday slot hahaha.
HBD Savings - When Ponzi
So someone posted on twitter calling HBD a ponzi so of course the leo and hive community had full force fun with it. All sorts of tweets, threads and posts came out sarcastically "showing" why HBD has to be a ponzi.
Leo Ads
The dynamic of Leo Ad revenue is constantly growing. The addition of threads has already led to more ad revenue.
The larger overhaul is still on docket, but it is a matter of WEN which is par for the course.
The ad marketplace will allow for anyone to purchase ads. The revenue from those ads will get distributed to those who hold leo power.
What's cool is the ads can purchased with other coins and those will be converted into leo and that leo will get distributed into the leo power balances of holders.
Monthly Active Users
Get the word out and get all the lions threading. April monthly active users is on pace for 900 which is slightly below the 1K we hit in March.
There are 11 days left in April, we can pump it up. Tell your friends ;-)
LPUD Crushing it again
252k Leo was powered up (3rd best in history). 167 users (3rd best in history) powered up. 77% of supply is now staked, pretty cool!
Crypto News
Blocktrades is pulling out of the U.S. market due to concerns over the SEC and them sending lawsuits to basically any crypto exchange of late.
Coinbase announced if regulatory clarity doesn't emerge in the near future they may port their business overseas.
May 1st launch, it is close!
May 1 is the launch of alpha leo to full production. Should be an exciting time.
Bitcoin is starting to push again and obviously it is bringing excitement. That isn't the only exciting news though!
Monthly Active Users (MAUs)
The Q2 goal for alpha leo is 1,500 MAUs and well, little over a week in and 1,400 has already been hit.
Sounds like we are well on our way to the 5K goal for 2023. Especially, considering that come May 1 we have the official launch of alpha leo to full production!
Thread Environment
Last Friday, @Khaleelkazi had a little roundtable feedback from some power users like @taskmaster4450 and myself. Several items were discussed, but creating a better environment in threads that's not full of just link posting is an overall goal.
"Engagement score" is going to be a piece of that, but the overall culture needs to be cultivated by us, the users.
We also talked about - why does someone want to hold LEO?
Reasons we came up with:
Do you have any others you think are reasons to acquire and hold Leo? Put it in the comments if so.
Also, @moretea pitched the reputation score being called ROAR SCORE.
I like it, and want to here other ideas from the community. Throw your ideas in the comments.
CUB Report
The report is already is due out, but some data is still being waited on until the publish button can be hit.
The good news is cub flipped deflationary last month and I expected that to continue as the burn revenue grows.
Remember, the more we have staked on the bhbd and bhive pools the more burn revenue generated.
General CryptoBitcoin cracked 30K and is looking like an uptrend is in play. Its crazy how the narrative has changed after everything looking so negative just a few months ago.
Metamask is apparently going to offer the ability to purchase crypto directly with fiat.
MicroStrategy said they are now in the green again on their total bitcoin holdings as their average price is right around 30K.
Feel good vibes seem to be coming back in Crypto
This is the Weekly WenSoon Show - Leo Finance AMA #186It is officially Q2 of 2023 and after an awesome Q1 full of updates in the leofinance ecosystem we are keeping the ball rolling into this fresh quarter. All the LEO UpdatesFeatures getting ready to hit and some that already are: Drafts is now available on the Alpha UI so feel free to go there to post your long form content without worry. Soon to be released: Wallet incoming Discord2Threads in the works More login options (i.e, hivesginer, using key, etc.)Leo Ads InitiativeKhal spoke more about the Ads protocol and what the vision is. If you are familiar with facebook ads, well it will be similar to that....in that people can create ad campaigns and bid on ads. This means ads won't just be "dumb" ads from one provider, thus creating more ad clients which means more revenue for burns.More Users Ser???1027 MAUs for March has been hit. So target #1 of hitting 1K on the way to the 5K yearly goal.Crypto News Bot on Threads!Yep, forget chasing the latest crypto news on sites that are not leofinance (cus who wants to do that anyway) as there is now a news bot on threads!Leofinance now has a crypto news bot that not only grabs the latest crypto news, but runs it through ChatGPT to summarize the news into a thread. So cool! The bot's name is CRYPTO INSIGHTS. So if you see it, now you know.Cub Deflationary, so it is so!Tomorrow the latest cub report will be out and share the news that cub has gone deflationary! Hooray, there is now more cub being burned in March than being minted.Pretty freaking cool from this cat's perspective. At the same time, this doesn't mean cub price will moon, but it does mean that there is no new supply as a net effect hitting the market.Calling all Lions!*The team is extending an invitation to write a post about what you want to see in the LeoVerse. Team meeting is Friday, they will take ideas into account. Tag your post with #leoverse
In this week's AMA, we covered a wide range of topics including AirBnB regulations vs. Crypto regulations and the normal LeoFinance x CubFinance AMA Questions.
We've just released LeoInfra V3 and LeoMobile!
PolyCUB is on the horizon!
On this episode of the podcast, we had Derek from StakeCube join the show to talk about their project.
StakeCube started in June 2018 as a Proof of Stake Pool and fork of Dash/Bitcoin Core. Today, they have 20+ team members and are actively growing the offerings of StakeCube with the launch of V3 right around the corner.

On this episode of the LeoFinance podcast, I'm joined by Esteban de la Peña! He has worked in the space for several years now and has most recently been heavily involved with the emerging lightning payment rails for merchants accepting BTC.
He has some incredibly interesting takes on BTC, the future of payments via Lightning, El Salvador, Merchant Treasuries looking to hold Bitcoin and much much more! I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did.

Binance Smart Chain and the BNB token are currently the #1 news story within the Crypto/DeFi space. Bitcoin is making new all-time highs, ETH is making new all-time highs and in the meantime, liquidity, volume and the price of BNB have exploded to an even greater degree.
On this episode of the LEO Roundtable, we sit down with LeoFinance statistician by day and DeFi farmer by night @dalz to talk about the BInance Smart Chain. Dalz was one of the earliest adopters of Decentralized Finance protocols on the Binance Smart Chain and he's been crushing it on the various applications and pools that exist in that chain.

This bull run has had both a number of familiarities and a number of differences. In 2017, there was a massive boom in interest for the crypto space. The ICO craze marked one of the highlights of the bull run.
This time, there is the DeFi craze. There are some key differences between the ICO craze and the DeFi craze. DeFi feels more legitimate. It feels like it's solving a real use case and not just raising funds for some crazy new token that will end up going to 0.
In this episode of the Daily LEO, we talk about Tesla's recent acquisition of $1.5B worth of BTC and their important announcement around accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment. Many people are wondering if it's too late to get into Bitcoin and if they already missed the boat.

We decided to meet for an emergency LeoFinance podcast this morning to talk about all of the things happening in crypto right now. Tesla just filed with the SEC announcing two key pieces of news: they've purchased $1.5 billion worth of Bitcoin for their balance sheet AND they will soon accept BTC as a form of payment.
These two pieces of news have shot the price of Bitcoin from $38k to $46k today, reaching a new all-time high.
In this podcast episode, we talk about the news in real-time, how it impacts us and where we see things headed. We also talked about a strategy we might deploy if BTC reaches a certain price target where we may look to take profits without completely selling our Bitcoin.

The LEO Roundtable is back and in this episode we talk about the Robinhood, Wall Street Bets and AMC trading frenzies. @nealmcspadden and I bought call debit spreads in AMC in anticipation of a successful short squeeze. We're still waiting to see how it plays out the rest of this week.

The most important news on social media right now is the fight against Wall Street. A community on Reddit started a massive battle of retail investors vs. Wall Street hedge funds.
The crazy part is that the retailers are winning.. and in a big way. They are winning so big, in fact, that Robinhood and other exchanges decided to delist the stocks in question and major platforms are censoring retail investors and WallStreetBets community members on social media and financial markets.
We live in unprecedented times. What's happening right now is anti free markets and a change must happen.

We met for a happy HODLdays episode of the roundtable. I hope you all are enjoying the holidays this week and with the New Year just days away, we decided to make some friendly bets on where the BTC price will end up by year end 2020.
The holidays are generally much slower for most businesses. Trading and markets are definitely slower during these times and it is nice to get a bit of a break in the mix.
On this roundtable, we also talk about some upcoming developments, stimulus checks and some DeFi info that I found extremely helpful.

LeoFinance is a blockchain-based social media community for Crypto & Finance content creators. Our tokenized app allows users and creators to engage and share content on the blockchain while earning cryptocurrency rewards.
Mass Mutual is an insurance company that is 169 years old. It's one of the largest in the world and represents a nice segment that we could call "old" or "boring" money. As I continue to reiterate in these Daily LEOs, we're seeing a narrative of more and more institutions FOMOing into Bitcoin.
It's starting to become irresponsible for institutions and major investors to not have any sort of BTC exposure in their portfolios. If Mass Mutual were to increase their position to just 1% of this fund, then that would be an additional $2.15 billion that they'd purchase. While no plans for this were announced, it's not hard to imagine that they would leg in with a smaller purchase and slowly add to the position over time.
This article also mentions Grayscale and the reported levels of ETH buying that is happening. Institutions aren't blind to innovation and the Ethereum blockchain services the most innovative projects in all of crypto. With a market cap of $62 billion USD, ETH has some massive upward volatility ahead of itself if institutional money continues to flow into the top 2 assets in crypto.

We're about to see the highest monthly close in Bitcoin's history. The previous monthly high was ~$13,700 and today will mark a close above $19k for the first time ever.
We're seeing an unprecedented level of activity in the BTC futures market and in the activity of institutions getting exposure to BTC in various forms. Some are buying BTC outright while others are integrating BTC into their business model and others are investing into GBTC.
Coindesk reports on the Guggenheim news that broke yesterday. Guggenheim manages over $233 billion USD in their various fund allocations. A particular fund called "Macro Opportunities" has $5b in assets and Guggenheim just filed to invest up to 10% of this fund into GBTC.
This article by @behiver talks about the ETH2 launch and gives some quick overview details about the stats for ETH2 so far.
This weekend, we met for another LEO Roundtable Podcast. The whole crypto market experienced a correction and many are wondering if it's a meaningful move. We analyze this and a myriad of factors related to how the market is moving right now.
We move on to discuss WLEO / LEO tokenomics - especially as they relate to exchange listings. LEO has such a low liquid supply that many wonder if we have the liquidity to list on various exchanges. In this episode, we explain the important tokenomic inflows/outflows that will accompany various exchange listings.

This is the 75th episode of the LeoFinance podcast and this might be the most wide-ranging episode we've ever recorded. We covered even more ground than usual and even had 2 of @scaredycatguide (Mitch)'s friends join the show.
These 2 investors recently bought 10k + LEO each and had some questions around tokenomics, staking and security. It's always fun to see new faces on LeoFinance and this time, we got an even deeper insight into who is attracted to LeoFinance and why. Shoutout to Mitch for turning himself into ScaredyCatBroker for this one and getting these new users/investors onboarded to the platform.

It's been a wild ride for LeoFinance, LEO and WLEO. We've done this all before as we created the first version of Wrapped LEO and launched it into the Universe. Now we're back with an improved model, a high degree of security and a much bigger community.
In some ways, WLEO 1 was a blessing in disguise. It allowed us some time to go back to the drawing board on a number of aspects related to LeoFinance and the LEO token economy. With the knowledge of what happens when a wrapped token is introduced coupled with a desire to relaunch in a highly secure and compatible way, we've finally brought back WLEO.
WLEO 2 marks an important milestone for our project. LeoFinance is a cross-blockchain social platform. We're built using the most powerful aspects of Hive: fast, scalable and free transactions and our platform bridges the gap to other blockchains by reaching out with projects like the LeoInfra Metamask integrations (allowing Metamask users to signup to LeoFinance/Hive in less than 30 seconds) along with vital aspects of our economy like Wrapped LEO (WLEO).

We kicked off this episode of the LEO roundtable by talking about the podcast and a future UI update to service more video content directly on the LeoFinance.io UI. We jumped into some questions that @rollandthomas prepared as we talked Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and also considered their impact on U.S. Debt.
@dalz wrote a post last week about stablecoins and how they're seeing an incredible rise in printing. Is this the new norm or are we waiting for a massive shift to take place?
From there, we talk Bitcoin and if there are safe ways to collect interest on your long-term BTC holdings. Thorchain's future cross-chain BTC liquidity pool integration comes up and then we talk about the differences between wBTC and native BTC.
Some details about the upcoming release of LeoInfra V2, the new WLEO LP incentive model and some 5 year projections are also discussed along with a general discussion around Ethereum and DeFi.

The events yesterday have a profound impact on all of us right now. Shaking the momentum of LeoFinance and our resolve to the core.
What we do in the days that follow will define how our community and platform develop in the future. As much as I wish we could go back in time and change the way that things happened, we can’t. Instead, we have to learn from the successes and the failures. We have to take what is given to us and move in the only direction possible: forward.
In this episode, we talk about the hack. Plans to recover from it and also our future plans to build LeoFinance into a better project moving forward including new UI releases and other features from our roadmap.
We streamed another LEO roundtable this weekend and did a post-WLEO launch round-up. It’s been just over a week since WLEO debuted on Uniswap and the results blew us away.
Clearly there is a desire on Hive/LeoFinance for this bridge to the broader crypto market. We’re also slowly seeing Ethereum-based users creep into the LEO ecosystem one small step at a time.

With the upcoming releases to the LeoFinance UI, coupled with marketing and the new database backend we’re building (LeoInfra), we’re gearing up to onboard a whole lot of new people to the LeoFinance platform.
These are some of the most exciting times to be a part of this community and we’re still just getting started. The updated roadmap for 2020 is filled with new features and projects. Now that WLEO has launched successfully and we’ve built a bridge to Ethereum, the world of DeFi and crypto has opened up in a way that is hard to describe.
For now, we’re enjoying some nice price action on LEO. In the near future, we’ll see a massive influx of new users.
Another day, another LeoFinance Roundtable about Wrapped LEO (wLEO). The community is gearing up as we approach this week’s launch and the questions keep flowing in.
There are a lot of questions about LEO, our new interface, Wrapped LEO, Uniswap, Ethereum, etc. In these roundtables, we’ve been collecting these questions and exploring them and others live on the show. These have been a big help for a lot of people - especially those who don’t have much experience with crypto outside of the Hive blockchain.
The nuances of Ethereum bring a lot of opportunities for LeoFinance and the LEO token but they also bring a lot of questions. Hopefully these roundtables have helped you as we approach the launch. We’re also clipping the nuggets of content out of each roundtable and posting them on Hive/in the new wLEO repository on LeoPedia.
In This Episode:
This episode of the LEO Roundtable podcast was streamed live yesterday. We talked about the basics of Ethereum and explored the UI of Uniswap while preparing for the upcoming wLEO launch event.
wLEO represents our community’s breakout into the world of crypto beyond just the Hive eco chamber. Hive provides a lot of opportunities and the blockchain technology is unparalleled in terms of allowing our community blogging interface to serve on-chain content and distribute LEO tokens to users who create and curate that content.
With that said, the Hive-token protocol that we’re using doesn’t allow us to be easily listed on exchanges outside of Hive. This is why the wLEO bridge is so valuable to our community. The wLEO bridge allows us to step outside of Hive and get listed on nearly any exchange in the crypto space — this is because wLEO is a LEO token equivalent (essentially acting as a pegged token) and is built using the ERC20 token protocol on Ethereum.

The LeoFinance community and LEO token economy are undergoing some major upgrades in the coming weeks. We’ve announced that tomorrow will mark the launch of the new LeoFinance beta interface - featuring the Hive blogging UI that we’ve built from the ground up.
Shortly after the new interface launches, we’ll be launching the wLEO token on the Ethereum blockchain which we’ve mentioned in a few posts already. The wLEO launch is highly anticipated and a lot of people are either very excited about the launch or very confused - and in most cases, a bit of both.
In this episode, TM4450 and I run through some of the top questions surround wLEO and many of the other developments surrounding the LeoFinance platform:
LeoFinance is a blockchain-based social media community for Crypto & Finance content creators. Wrapped LEO (wLEO) is coming and we’re all preparing ourselves for what’s going to happen to the LEO token economy. A lot of LeoFinance users and LEO token HODLers are trying to figure out exactly how to navigate this uncharted territory as we venture out from Hive and explore the Ethereum blockchain, Decentralized Exchanges and DeFi protocols.
This whole DeFi industry is emerging and growing fast. The key is going to be the coupling of fundamental developments with FOMO. As people FOMO into the coins that are listed on Uniswap (which wLEO will soon join the ranks of), we truly need to see fundamental development that warrants the speculative increases in price. Without fundamental developments, you’re just holding a speculative asset that isn’t worth anything outside of the bubble.
As the launch of wLEO gets closer, we’re answering many of the fundamental questions that arise. Users on Hive and LeoFinance are wondering about how to get involved, what it does for the LEO token economy, how the LEO price will be impacted and more.
One of the main questions we’ve been seeing is: What’s the Point of Wrapped LEO? Why would you create an ERC20 token?
Launching an ERC20 token equivalent of LEO has always been in the back of our minds. The way that LEO is currently structured means that the ability for outside investors and potential users to get a hold of LEO and participate in the LeoFinance platform is limited to people with Hive accounts.
By adding an ERC20 token bridge between LEO and wLEO, we're effectively opening up the floodgates to potential investors, users and speculators. At the start, this means that wLEO will be listed on the most popular DEXes like Uniswap and will soon branch out into other protocols like Balancer.
We talk about all of this and more in today’s LEO roundtable podcast.

This is one of the longer LEO Roundtables that we’ve ever done, but more importantly: it’s the first Live podcast that we’ve done as well. Threespeak recently updated their live-streaming platform and it worked like a charm. We had a few people join us in chat and there were no delays, no dropped frames and no lag.
Streaming was a great experience and we’ll definitely continue to stream the roundtables each week on threespeak. We’ll also look to multi-stream it on Twitter and possibly Facebook/YouTube to try and bring in a wider audience to Hive and LeoFinance.
We covered an incredibly wide range of topics during this show but we had a heavy focus on crypto and DeFi.

What an episode! In this LEO Roundtable podcast, we covered just about every tradable asset and sector under the sun. @rollandthomas led the show and took us through detailed analyses of the largest global sectors.
We started the show talking about the U.S. dollar. The dollar has been getting weaker and weaker thanks to Fed policies and the coronavirus. There is a lot of uncertainty out there and plenty of volatility, but the markets seem to be getting led higher by big tech.
The big picture question that I think we continued to touch upon throughout every single analysis is about sector rotations. Will the current trends related to big tech leading the market, the dollar getting weaker, commodities rallying, etc. continue or will we s ee a major sector rotation on all fronts?

Over a month ago, I found the Bitcoin collateral loan product by BlockFi and decided to give it a try. Collateral loans have spiked in popularity with the latest DeFi boom in crypto. Now, everyone seems to be trying to collateralize their crypto positions to take out a loan and gain instant liquidity.
There are pros and cons to every collateral loan product - whether you’re using a centralized or decentralized protocol. BlockFi offers a professional experience and feels more like using a new-age bank than using a decentralized protocol to collateralize crypto.
With my experience in decentralized loan protocols, I decided to give a centralized loan protocol a shot and see what the pros and cons are. After using BlockFi’s loan product, I can say that there are clear reasons for using either decentralized or centralized loans. For my personal portfolio, using a mix of the two types of loan products makes perfect sense. In this episode, I explain the BlockFi loan product, how it works and the pros and cons between CeFi and DeFi.

Hey everyone, here’s the latest roundtable that we recorded. It took me a while to edit it and reprocess the video, but it was just recorded a little over 1 week ago. We focused on our trading habits, especially as it related to the stock market.
We kicked off the talk by looking at the dark energy crystal (DEC) token on Hive-Engine and how we’re trading the latest dip in price. From there, we talked generally about trading and the risk of being unfocused in which industries you trade.
After that, we did a deep dive on Neal’s trading strategy for the SPY. He’s ran some extensive research on the SPY to find a way to trade specific openings and it was really interesting to see how he worked through the math to create and refine his model.
The last hour of the talk focused on options trading and credit spreads - since we’ve all gotten a lot more heavily involved in that arena.

In a world of disagreement and disarray, there is one particular thing that we can all agree on: technological progress.
Technology is progressing forward. New innovations are continuously being released and old industries are being transformed. The questions of how much change is actually happening, where that change is occurring and how that will impact our society are all up for debate.. but the fact of progress itself is not.
In this episode of Tech Talk, @taskmaster4450 and I jump into the details of technological innovation. He kicks it off by asking my opinion about the future of our world by 2035 and how technology will impact daily living.
From there, we dive deeper into various topics surrounding that overarching question.
In This Episode:
We leave it off by debating over the idea of a dystopian future versus a utopian future. There are many people who fall on both sides of this argument and there are varying reasons as to why the future is moving one direction or the other.
Closing out the episode, we call upon you (the audience) to leave a comment below and tell us why you think the future will be utopian or dystopian and why you believe either is the case.

This episode of the LEO Roundtable was a journey. We kicked it off talking about the stock market and how everyone and their mother seems to have become an overnight day trader.
From there, we talked about crypto adoption. Why are so many average people flocking to the equity markets to “gamble” with their extra time and stimulus money rather than going to crypto where they can work “against” the establishment and have an easier signup process (as opposed to opening a brokerage account).
@scaredycatguide (Mitch) posed a great question: is this an indication of the nascency of crypto and why mass adoption is further than everyone expects?

Earlier in the week we recorded this LEO Roundtable episode and covered a broad range of topics. We kicked it off with a debate about the HIVE price and the future of the Hive blockchain — since we have different viewpoints on where Hive stands now and in the future.
It’s interesting to hear all sides of the story. We all use Hive regularly, but we have very different perspectives as to what the future of Hive might look like and how adoption could or could not take place. Sometimes we get stuck in a bubble of like-minded thinking as Hivians (or as anyone who belongs to echo chambers on the internet), so getting these alternative views is fascinating.
From there we progressed into a broader discussion about crypto adoption and how Bitcoin’s future looks. We jumped across the table and hotly debated some politics including the upcoming U.S. elections with Trump vs. Biden (and took some bets as to who would win).
We switched topics back to trading and talked credit spreads. The guys sent me down a rabbit hole a few weeks back and I’ve since put on about a dozen trades. It was nice and informative to break down each trade and talk through the general strategy on the roundtable.

In the 12th episode of the LEO Roundtable podcast, we set a new record for the length of a single recording session. We did just under 3 hours in this episode and covered a wide range of topics.
One of the main points we discussed (for the first hour of the podcast) is LeoFinance. We wanted to run through all the numbers including ad revenue, token burning, development costs, etc. and create a proper valuation for LeoFinance as a sort of startup tech business.
Because of our token, properly valuing LeoFinance can be an incredibly useful practice. There isn’t a lot to go on when it comes to investing in any crypto token out there and when you can bridge solid fundamentals with the potential of a new startup, you can vastly improve your decision making process.
After talking about LEO and LeoFinance, we talked about onboarding in general and followed it up by talking about streaming services and the future of media.
Moving on from there, we showed off a tool called Robintrack where you can see the hottest stocks on Robinhood — a trading platform for millennials that has recently gotten a lot of attention.
Then we talked credit spreads and analyzed 2 positions that I’ve taken over the past week in light of the last roundtable when the guys urged me to look into options spreads.
We ended the show with a deep dive on dCity and talked about playing the game, earning SIM tokens and NFTs.

For the 50th episode of the LeoFinance podcast, we hosted another LEO Roundtable podcast. We kicked it off talking about the popular dollar milkshake theory and continued on to analyze the price of the USD now and in the near to long-term future, drawing in analyses on other major fiat currencies across the globe.
Following a logical progression, we analyzed Gold and Bitcoin after our talks about fiat currencies. Moved on to talk about the S&P500 and where the entire equities market is headed during these turbulent times.
The Hertz situation is one that is extremely interesting. We talked about the company, the stock price and why Robinhood traders jumped in and pushed the stock up to $6 following news of bankruptcy. Hertz is also currently in talks to be able to sell worthless stock to investors.
The Tesla and Nikola conversation was also fun. We talked about the share prices and competitive advantages of these two companies as they attack the titans of the automobile industry with clean energy vehicles.
One of my favorite parts of the episode is when we talked about the basics of options trading and how one can earn an income from selling options contracts. I thought this was a very interesting strategy and ended up testing it out by selling an SQ put after the show.
We closed it out talking about the LEO token price, the crazy rally that we’ve seen recently and the future of the entire LeoFinance community. We also talked about dCity and personal strategies for building an income in the SIM token.

Whenever the price of Bitcoin spikes and we see BTC all over the news feeds, there is a rush of speculation and new entrants into the market. We can see this happening from a variety of metrics — Coinbase account signups, on-chain transactions, volume or even your personal text messages.
The majority of people tend to take a look at Bitcoin only during these major media coverage moments. The 2020 halving event provided a major moment for Bitcoin as many of us expected. Still, I’m seeing a wide range of people continually asking about Bitcoin & crypto.
The top question on their mind: Is it too late to buy Bitcoin?
I’m writing this in June 2020. Of course, this question has been asked and answered many times over the past decade and will continue to be asked for the next decade to come. So if you’re reading this after June 2020 and are asking the question “Is it Too Late to Buy BTC?” then know that from a fundamental sense; not much has changed. The principles of buying Bitcoin that I talk about here will remain relevant for the years to come.

This week was a big one for technology. We saw the Dragon capsule launch by SpaceX & NASA where the first humans to ever be launched by a private company went without a hitch. This is also the first human launch on a reusable rocket.
Seeing the astronauts flying toward space while the booster rocket landed back here on Earth to be reused in a later flight is an incredible thing to witness.
We’re also living in an interesting time for the stock market as we see the valuations of many companies reach back to their all time highs amidst an economy in turmoil. We talked Tesla and our thoughts about where the stock is and what the company is doing.
Then we finished off the discussion by diving into the latest issues with Social Media as companies like Twitter battle with Trump while companies like Facebook seem to be bending the knee. The case for decentralized platforms like Hive has never been stronger than today and it seems that the need is continually growing.

In the last LEO Roundtable we talked about the real estate market. @scaredycatguide (Mitchell) and @nealmcspadden (Neal) have a lot of knowledge in this area and they shed some light on how Covid is impacting real estate now and in the next few years to come.
With the high rate of forbearance, the growing unemployment rate and the suffering economic climate in the U.S., there are a lot of aligning factors that could cause a significant drop in the overall real estate market.
Another key factor in this whole discussion is the foreclosure process and the difference between judicial and non-judicial states.
I personally learned a lot from this section of the Roundtable and I think it’s valuable for any investor to hear whether you’re in real estate or not. It gleans some insight into having a macro perspective of a given industry and knowing when to put your capital to work and when to accumulate capital and be patient for a coming BTFD moment — which might be coming to real estate.

With all of the various exchange listings and marketing collaborations between Hive and major players in the crypto space, there has been a lot of increased attention over the past few weeks as Hive gains ground and takes shape.
Hive is a complex ecosystem of applications, users, social interactions, rewards pools and more. Trying to navigate this blockchain as a newcomer can be daunting and many are left without a clue where to start.
LeoPedia is also starting to take shape as we put together more guides and resources about crypto & finance.
Since the explosion in price, attention and listings for Hive, I began working on a Hive guide. I’ve done Hive guides in past videos, but never a full-on comprehensive walkthrough of the entire chain.
Obviously, there’s a lot more to Hive than what I cover in this ~55 minute video. We kicked off this episode of the LEO Roundtable by talking about the things happening on Hive. The crazy price jump (a ~10x increase in price over a period of about 72 hours), a multitude of exchange listings and more.

We moved on to discuss Square and the Cash App — we are in agreement that it is a massive long-term play and a definitive holding for the next decade. Then we did some analysis on BA, AAPL, SPX and the broader markets. Eventually moving on to discuss Oil and rounding out the talk with the AUD/JPY pairing and how Rolland has been using it as a proxy to analyze equity markets.

What a day! HIVE is up over 60% in price on the news that Huobi is listing your friendly-neighborhood cryptocurrency.
There are a lot of amazing developments on Hive, but when the price jumps like this it has an exponential impact on the pace and scope of those developments.
For one, you see more creators/users interested in blogging/using the blockchain so they can earn more HIVE from the rewards pool.
Even more profound, however, is the impact that the price has on the DAF: Decentralized Autonomous Funding — on Hive.
The DAF has increased in value from $9 million to $15 million basically overnight. In the broader crypto space, people may consider these numbers to be next-to-nothing. On a blockchain like Hive, however, these numbers are incredibly impactful. The reason being that the funds are open, transparent and are rewarded in a decentralized manner.
Would $9 million or $15 million motivate you — as an individual developer or even as a developer group — to put out a proposal to improve the blockchain in exchange for a portion of those funds?

Security of crypto funds is the greatest debate in the space. Everyone who has spent even a millisecond of time in crypto knows that there is a risk to being uninformed when it comes to storing and using your funds.
When you don’t have third-parties — i.e. banks — involved to give you a sense of security, you need to provide security for yourself. Security comes in the form being both informed and self-aware. Some people need more third-party involvement and less responsibility while others need more responsibility and less third-party involvement.
In my opinion, hardware wallets are a beautiful middle ground to all of this. You can have the best of both worlds — security and a relatively moderate degree of responsibility.
With a bit of education in the space coupled with some experimentation and usage of these devices, the average person can have access to a bank in their pockets - as Andreas Antonopolous loves to say.
There are many hardware wallets out there and I have experimented with many of them. I often recommend Ledger Hardware wallets, as I have had a great experience with mine and the user interface is relatively intuitive.
I made this episode to answer the top 3 questions that I see when it comes to Ledger hardware wallets (and most other hardware wallets in general).
In this episode, I break down each of the 3 questions and provide the respective solutions for them. I can remember back to when I first got my Ledger Nano and was asking all the same questions, pondering the actual security of storing my crypto on such a device:
Hopefully these questions bring you some piece of mind when it comes to using a hardware wallet. I can’t stress enough how much I hate the idea of people holding crypto on an exchange. Hardware wallets provide vastly more security, flexibility and even reduced tx fees when used properly.
Repeat after me:
Your keys, your crypto.
Not your keys, not your crypto.

In this week’s episode of the LEO Roundtable, we talked about some of our favorite sectors in the current market conditions. We also walked through some of the FED buying activities and how they affect our positions.
One of my favorite parts of the discussion is when we talked about Gold, Silver and Bitcoin. According to every technical/fundamental indicator, these assets may have a very bright future ahead in the near-to-medium term.
I was so excited by the talk that I went out and added SLV to my personal portfolio and picked up BTC (although, the ladder is not out of the ordinary for me).
So far, I am really enjoying these roundtable discussions. Partly because it’s great content for the LEO community, but selfishly because it’s helping me iron out my portfolio and put some more perspective behind my positions.

I just listened to this Q&A clip from Andreas Antonopolous in which he addresses concerns over the security of Proof of Stake systems and a few of the potential attack vectors.
Over the past 30-40 days, we’ve seen Justin Sun take advantage of a Delegated Proof of Stake system on the Steem blockchain.
Sun did this by acquiring such a large stake in the network that he controlled the witness elections and thus, could control the rules of block production.
With Delegated Proof of Stake, having 1 person/organization (or even a handful of people) with so much control over the supply of the network is dangerous. They can change the elected officials on the blockchain at will and thus, can change the rules of the blockchain itself.
We see the same issue happening with TRON and with EOS — a small group of people have too much control over the network and with that control, they cause a high degree of centralization and manipulation. These are not true decentralized blockchain networks. They are centralized networks masquerading as decentralized networks.
These 2 major issues — a centralized force doing an OTC deal for a controlling stake acquisition and also the exchanges getting involved in proof of stake/Delegated proof of stake consensus — have been addressed by the Hive blockchain and will need to continually be addressed by other PoS/DPoS blockchains.

In this second episode of the LEO roundtable, Rolland walks us through his process for ratio analyses and also presents a few macro indicators for equities, bonds, crypto and the global markets on a broader scale.
As with the first episode of the roundtable discussion, we covered a wide range of topics. Whether you’re looking for discounted investments, the “right time” to buy back in, options trades, etc. this episode will help you get some insight on the market from a bird’s eye perspective.
The main thing that I love about these roundtable discussions is that we are able to cover these topics and analyses from all angles. We each have unique perspectives on the markets and how we approach investing, trading and analyzing the conditions that arise on a day-to-day basis.
As I said toward the end of this episode, I enjoy the fact that an options trader like Rolland can use this analysis to better position himself for long/short-term options trades while I can simultaneously utilize the same analysis to add to my long-term stock portfolio.

The key is that the mainstream conversation about markets, central banks and monetary policies will shift to talking about sound financial policies outside the traditional banking system — something that BTC was literally created to solve.

Being involved in the Steem blockchain has been a wild ride. Not just over the past several weeks as we’ve dealt with the unpredictable and erratic behavior of Justin Sun and his team, but also over the past several years as we’ve dealt with the deadweight of Steemit, Inc. led by Ned Scott.
Over the past 3-4 days, we saw the launch of the Hive Blockchain — a fork of the Steem blockchain that is led by the vast majority of the Steem community.
As many have said, this is no ordinary fork of a blockchain. One of the primary reasons why this is no ordinary fork is because there is such a profound majority of people backing the fork comparative to the “original chain”.
In blockchain speak, the network with the most backing is the one who will succeed the most. Steem is now a centralized chain. I wouldn’t even call it a blockchain at this point because Justin Sun controls all 20 of the witnesses (even the ones he claims are “community-operated” which to him is another word for “witnesses-I-bribed”).
Hive is a true blockchain. It is truly decentralized. There is no CEO of Hive. There is no company behind Hive. There really isn’t even an “organization” behind Hive in the traditional sense.
What governs Hive is an active group of community members who love decentralization and love content and love creativity and developing dApps that people use each and every day.
For these reasons and more, Hive has vastly more potential than Steem ever did. I talk about these reasons in today’s episode of the LeoFinance podcast.

Congrats to the whole community! The Hive blockchain is alive and running! It is truly incredible to see so many talented and passionate community members and developers come together to make this chain a reality.
Make no mistake — this is a manifestation of the Steem community. Justin Sun came along, acquires Steemit, Inc. and acted as if he owned the entire Steem blockchain.
He colluded with exchanges, he attacked our governance, he installed hostile witness nodes. He used his entire repertoire to try and take control of this community. We responded by rallying together and voting up our duly elected witnesses and created a stalemate on the Steem blockchain.
After weeks of trying to make the best of the situation and work with Justin, we found that he was abusive, corrupt and highly unmotivated to cooperate with the Steem community and our elected witnesses.
The community’s solution? Fork over to our own blockchain and give Justin Sun, his sock puppets and Steemit, Inc. the boot. They can enjoy an empty blockchain over on Steem as all of our amazing apps and developers, businesses and content creators move to Hive.
Hive is the people's blockchain. Hive is a manifestation of the Steem community’s heart and soul. Our passion for community, cooperation and content creation and curation.
This episode of the LEO Show will dive into the basics of using the Hive blockchain now that it is up and running. I’ll run through how to use the https://peakd.com interface to post, curate and more.
I also briefly talk about the changes coming to Steemleo. We are currently developing and testing changes and as of right now (as I post this), you are able to make posts from https://steemleo.com and they will show up on the Hive Blockchain instead of Steem. Those posts are eligible for both HIVE and LEO token rewards. More updates will be released shortly.

We’re officially about 19 hours away from the Hive launch as I put the finishing touches on this upload and write this post.
The STEEM price has rallied to an insane degree. Going up as much as 200% and currently holding at about +88% on the day. STEEM rallied from $0.12 to now $0.33 and climbing.
We’re seeing an incredible amount of volume on the exchanges and we’re also seeing an incredible amount of attention in the crypto space. Several crypto KOLs (key opinion leaders) including Vitalik Buterin have tweeted about the Steem & Hive situation in support of the community moving to Hive.
Vitalik said he’s keeping a close eye on Steem & Hive and if Hive overtakes Steem in terms of market cap/general usage, then it will be an amazing testament to decentralized communities and the inability for people like Justin Sun to buy a community.
The Steem and Now Hive Community are charting new territories. We are testing the waters and we are paving the path for future decentralized communities.
I’m so happy to have a front-row seat to such a fascinating situation. It’s stressful and there are plenty of long hours, but this community is worth it and the reward waiting for us as we buidl our community going forward can’t go understated.

It’s official! The entire community has spent weeks debating and discussing the possibility of a hard fork. Now that we see a plan and roadmap in place and a hard launch date, the discussions are shifting from how to fork to how will the fork go.
There are still quite a few unknowns, but speaking in a broad sense — this is an amazing thing for the Steem community.
It allows the community to develop its own fork. To disconnect from the centralization of Justin Sun and Steemit, Inc. that has been weighing us down for the past 4 years.
Over these past 4 years, developers and community members have taken this blockchain from a tiny little blogging interface and a database into being a flourishing community with hundreds of applications and developers that are all passionate about a shared mission — Web 3.0
Hive has the potential to be everything that we all have wanted Steem to be for so long. Without having to carry the weight of a failed company — Steemit, Inc. — Hive can move freely and under the leadership of the Steem community.
When Hive launches, it will be essentially and exact clone of Steem with just a few minor tweaks to ensure that the DPoS (delegated proof of stake) governance is more secure than before. Preventing Justin Sun, Steemit, Inc. and the exchanges from overtaking the governance of a new chain.

Early last week, CZ from Binance put out a multitude of statements ousting Justin Sun and essentially admitting that Justin had sent out details for an “upgrade” to Binance’s team under false pretenses.
This “upgrade” was in fact the call for Binance to power up all the STEEM held on the exchange and vest it into STEEM POWER. Once it was powered up, it could be used to vote in Justin’s Witnesses. Which CZ and Binance did.
The statements made it seem as though Binance was either very naive and ignorant or very greedy and were well compensated for their involvement.
Withdrawals of STEEM have been on lockdown since this event took place. Users have been unable to withdraw from the exchange. Up until today — Justin Sun received millions of STEEM in transfers from the @binance-hot wallet WHILE the exchange’s withdrawal feature was still on lockdown.
Either Binance is continuing to collude with Justin Sun or Justin outright owns the keys to Binance’s Steem account. I think it’s the former, but who knows with these guys. It’s apparent that people like CZ and Justin Sun are money-hungry and power-hungry. They’ll stop at nothing to enrich themselves and push for more control over the crypto space.

Today marked another major downturn for both equities and cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is down over 25% and equities are down over 7% as of this recording.
We are at the beginning of a long-term stay-at-home economy. The potential impact of COVID-19 on businesses, employees, entrepreneurs, investors and everyone else is unknown at this point.
It’s hard to say whether we’re going to see crypto/bitcoin develop as a safe haven asset or if we’ll see it follow the rest of the markets as people panic sell into cash to stave off potential risk.

The Binance saga seems to be drawing to a close as CZ and Binance itself have issued multiple apologies and statements regarding the Steem Hostile Takeover and their involvement in helping Justin Sun overthrow the governance of the Steem Blockchain.
Obviously, their apologies are carefully worded and they don’t really appear to take on much blame at all. Any blame aimed at them was redirected toward Justin. Ultimately, CZ chalked up his part of this “fiasco” as a simple lack of understanding when he signed off on the hard fork, powerup of STEEM and installment of fake witnesses.
Still, Binance has retracted the vote and initiated a power down of the customer funds that they used in the hostile takeover.
This doesn’t make up for the fact that they took part in a hostile takeover that is still ongoing. Without Binance’s involvement, the hostile takeover would never have happened. Steem would have never had Justin Sun in charge of the entire blockchain with 20 fake witness accounts and we would have likely resolved the power struggle in closed door meetings with Tron and Justin.
Instead, we (the Steem Community) have been forced into an ongoing battle for the top witness spots. We currently hold 9/20 of these spots and are fighting Justin who is leveraging both the Steemit, Inc. ninja-mined stake as well as Poloniex’s customer funds.
Justin has also been neglecting the duties of running Steemit, Inc. and certain functionalities are already falling apart at the seams like account recovery.
I talk about this and more in today’s SteemLeo Show Podcast Episode.

Crypto mass adoption is a mainstream conversation in the space. People are continually wondering how mass adoption will come about and more importantly WHEN it will come about.
For me, mass adoption means a lot of different things. We’re all unique in this world and we have unique needs and desires for cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
Regardless of how you use cryptocurrency, I believe that mass adoption is largely in the hands of the people. It’s people like you and I who will bring others into this space and take them by the hand as they learn the ropes.
Apps like Venmo have built their user base largely on word of mouth and peer-to-peer usage. Whether it’s a DeFi app or just simple day-to-day payments, crypto is no different. We need peer-to-peer use cases and we need people to start regarding cryptocurrencies as something you EARN rather than something you INVEST in.

There was finally a closed-door meeting between the Steem witnesses, Justin Sun and Eli Powell the other day where many of the current governance issues on the blockchain were discusses.
For the most part, the meeting was relatively productive in understand Justin Sun a bit better. For me, I confirmed my suspicions that Justin really doesn’t understand anything about Steem and he bought Steemit, Inc. under false pretenses from Ned.
In my opinion, Ned deceived Justin in more ways than one about Steemit, Inc. and the Steem blockchain.
Ned has come out and said that he pursued many acquisition deals until finally he found Justin and they came to an agreement.
In my opinion, the prior deals all fell through because the companies looking to acquire Steemit, Inc. dug up all of the dirt on the company and how Ned had made promises that he didn’t plan to keep and how he ultimately did nothing for the past 3 years and ran the company into the ground since Dan’s exit.
Again, this is all my speculation, but I believe Justin was fooled by Ned because Justin’s team is mostly incompetent — especially when it comes to technical details.
Justin claimed in this chat that his team did due diligence, but only on the documentation provided by Ned. That is not called due diligence, that is called naiveté and poor business practice. You don’t buy a house and take the seller’s word that there aren’t any leaks in it. You have it inspected before you sign the deal.
Anyways, in this talk I just find the key points from the meeting between Justin, Eli and the witnesses. I also conclude with what is (in my opinion) the easiest path forward — a win-win for all parties involved. Justin declining the right to vote on consensus and the Steem Blockchain witnesses signing an on-chain agreement that they will never touch Steemit’s stake in the Steem Blockchain ever again as long as the decline_voting_rights op is in place.

Today is a much happier day than yesterday.
We saw Justin Sun walk up, collude with Binance, Huobi and Poloniex to steal our Steem car.
After he stole the car by installing his own top 20 sock puppet witnesses (all running on 1 node, btw), his team got to work on a hard fork that would solidify some of the bullshit tactics that he’s been spewing. Effectively disrupting Steem as we know it.
The community did not have any of this. Today, we’ve spent countless hours on Twitter and Steem in order to rally support and vote in the previous top 20 witnesses back into consensus. As of this writing, we are now at 6 out of the 20 witnesses in power and it is growing every hour.
Over the course of the next 12 hours, I believe we will once again have consensus majority (16/20 witnesses) and will be back in the driver’s seat of the Steem Blockchain. From there, we can figure out how to proceed with Justin Sun. I assume we will install the decline_voting_rights operation to his stake, at the least, and essentially tell him to become a silent investor.
We don’t need him. We’re stronger without him and without people who are just as bad (or even worse) than Ned.
Today is a great day for Steem. Celebrate this day and don’t forget to vote for your REAL witnesses.
If you don’t know how to vote for witnesses or don’t want to know (or spend the time to do it). There’s an easy solution — vote @steem.leo as your proxy witness.
By doing this, you give us the effective power of your witness vote (doesn’t impact your voting power on steem rewards) and directs it toward the witnesses that we vote on.

Today I woke up to some saddening news. Something that I could have never anticipated.
Justin Sun has taken control of the top 20 witness spots on the Steem Blockchain. He now controls all of the top 20 delegated proof of stake block produces. Meaning that he can do anything he wants to the Steem Blockchain and there’s not a damn thing we can do to stop him.
This is the exact reason why the soft fork was put into place — to keep this shithead from doing something like this and taking over OUR blockchain. OUR community’s home.
How did he do it though? I was so confused… that is, until I saw the transaction data.
He did it by paying Binance and Huobi something on the order of half a million USD+ in bribes to STAKE ALL OF THE STEEM held on their custodial exchanges and use it to proxy vote Justin Sun’s witness voting account.
We can’t fully confirm that these were bribes, but millions of STEEM being sent to the exchange accounts from Steemit, Inc. accounts minutes after the proxies are set?? If it looks like a bribe and smells like a bribe….
In this video, I am a bit heated. This is a passionate subject for me.
Steem is not dead. Far from it. We are not the Steem Blockchain. We are a community of Steemians. We can live and thrive anywhere, regardless of what our banner is called.

Warren Buffet was recently interviewed on CNBC and was asked about his opinions on cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin after his dinner with Justin Sun and a few of his “crypto buddies”.
There is no doubt that Buffett is an incredible value investor, but when it comes to evaluating cutting edge technologies, he may not have the best track record. He has made a MASSIVE bet on Apple, but he didn’t make that bet until 2016 — when the company was already a global behemoth with a massive amount of positive cash flow.
Buffett doesn’t predict “the next technological breakthrough”, instead, he focuses on income-producing assets that are tangible in the here and now and can reliably grow in the future. That’s why I believe his perspective on investments regarding innovative technologies ought to be taken with a grain of salt.

We have a need. A need for diversification.
I just had a conversation on Sunday about markets at all time highs, irrational greed and the potential impact of the Corona Virus and other global market factors.
In the conversation, I was asked what I would do if I was holding stocks for the long-haul — 10+ years — in an environment when prices seem irrational and greed is continually mounting.
My answer: sell small %’s on the way up and diversify into things that might do well in a potential bear market.
This is what I’ve been doing since the start of 2020. Moving my long-term positions around (in very small chunks) into things that hedge against the risk of a potentially major correction in the markets.

At 5pm Eastern time, soft fork 0.22.2 was announced by the Steem Blockchain witnesses. This soft fork was discussed and implemented by the witnesses after hearing a myriad of concerns regarding the Steemit, Inc. acquisition by Justin Sun and the subsequent press releases which gave contradictory messages about Justin’s plans for Steemit and his large newly acquired stake in the Steem blockchain.
Steem is not Steemit.
This message rings truer now more than ever before. There are 2 major sides to this argument:

The announcement of Justin Sun buying Steemit, Inc. has been met with so many mixed feelings and confusion. It’s a big deal for anyone who’s paying attention to Steem.
There’s good and bad to this whole situation. So far, nothing bad has happened. We’ve seen Steemit, Inc. leave the hands of a founder who had grown uninterested in the project (Ned) and lacked vision, execution and resources to bring Steem(it) any further.
In my view, all the same risks exist. Ned could just as easily use Steemit and his STEEM stake to overtake the blockchain in the same way that people are worried that Justin might try to do.
The thing that kept Ned from doing that is the same thing that will keep Justin from doing it and it also happens to be the same reason why 51% attacking the BTC network doesn’t make any sense — the game is created in such a way that the financial incentives lie in propping up the blockchain and growing the network, not tearing it down.
If Justin stomps Steem into the ground, then he loses a major investment. It doesn’t make financial sense. If Justin, however, allows the Steemit team to continue their development on Communities and SMTs (not to be confused with MSTs), and then he puts his full marketing dollars and weight behind those launches and announces them to the world… think of what that could do for Steem. Think of all the major attention that our blockchain will get.
The floodgates could open once again.
There are pros and cons to every situation. There is a bright side, but you have to be willing to look at it. Keep your awareness about the downside and understand the risks of having Justin in a position of power, but also keep your awareness about the upside and understand the benefits of having Justin in a position of power.
In this episode of the Steemleo Show, I give a bit of a rant as I recap the long day we had yesterday between the AMA followed by the witness chat and then give my thoughts on the future of Steem as we know it.

Hey everyone. After a crazy day and all sorts of wild speculation from the Steem community about what’s going to happen now that Tron and Justin Sun have officially purchased Steemit, Inc., I decided to collect all the information that is available to us and give my opinions on this whole situation.
Please keep this in mind when you listen to this video and also when you hear anyone else in the community talking about this — we have such a small amount of information about this whole ordeal. Aside from a few tweets and 1 non-comprehensive blog post, we haven’t heard much of anything about this deal. We also have gotten 0 response from Steemit, Inc. other than Ned’s 1 tweet in which he called us “Steemitans”, whatever that means.
In this episode of the Steemleo show, I just review the data that I could scrape together and give my 2 cents on it. Hope you enjoy!

EDIT — As I was editing and uploading this episode, Justin Sun made his first post on the Steem blockchain in which he just reiterates the position of Tron with the goal of bringing value to the Steem community as he and the Steem community now have the aligned goal of increasing the value of the STEEM token. https://steemit.com/steem/@justinsunsteemit/excited-about-tron-and-steem-steemit-collaboration

Chairman of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell gave a testimony yesterday and during the questioning section, was asked about the Fed’s plans for digital currency in light of China, Libra and other countries and corporations making headway on implementing various systems.
The Chairman had a fair amount to say about digital currencies, saying that the fed is “taking a deep look” at digital currency.
It’s very early stages and there is not going to be any sort of fedcoin anytime soon, but the chairman did have quite a bit to say about privacy and the importance of thoroughly investigating these technologies.
In this podcast episode, I dive into the brief discussion of digital currencies and my opinions about how this (and other similar) conversation(s) impact Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as a whole.

Coinbase put out an article a few days ago which outlined some of their reasoning for drawing a few comparisons between gold and Bitcoin.
As we approach the halvening, certain metrics such as the stock-to-flow model are starting to make BTC reflect a gold-like level of scarcity, especially in terms of newly minted Bitcoin.
In this episode, I review the article and cover the various talking points that Coinbase brings up.

I had the incredible honor of interviewing @theycallmedan from the Steem blockchain. Dan is a former pro poker player, quora writer, investor and entrepreneur. He has quite a bit of experience in the crypto space and has weathered the storms of being an investor in volatile markets and being a poker player who needs to manage a finite bankroll.
Dan is the Co-Founder of 3speak.online - a decentralized video streaming service built on the Steem blockchain. 3speak is providing a safe, secure and censorship-resistant platform to video content creators. In a world of uncertainty coming from centralized web 2.0 sites such as YouTube, 3speak is providing a much needed sense of security and ownership to content creators across the globe.
This is just the beginning for 3speak as a decentralized hub for video content. In this episode, Dan talks about many of the innovations happening at 3speak right now and in the near future.

In today's podcast, I talk about the latest developments out of the Cash App and Square's team that is working on crypto-related projects. The Cash App offers a convenient solution for buying, depositing and withdrawing Bitcoin.
Along with this convenience comes an even greater one - the Visa Debit card that you can get with the Cash App that allows you to instantly convert BTC into USD and spend them at any local or online store. This makes it super easy to use the Cash App as a "hot wallet" for the BTC funds that you are spending in the near-future.

In today's episode, I cover the idea of crypto adoption and how it may be a little further away than you think. In order for mass adoption to happen, we need to have better systems in place. Topics covered:

I’ve talked about this several times both on this podcast as well as during interviews about Steemleo and my thoughts on the future of the Steem blockchain.
One of my driving reasons for creating Steemleo was to build a platform that could both incentivize current Steem users who created high quality investment content but also find new content creators and investment-enthusiasts and onboard them to Steem.
I have a few different ideas for how to do this and some of these ideas have already yielded some results. Through Steemleo, I’ve onboarded a handful of new users and have encouraged them to both post/read regularly in the Steemleo community.
One of the most important aspects to building a successful network is to have a consistently growing user base. As you get 1 new user, then 10 new users and then eventually hundreds and thousands of new users, you can begin noticing the network effects coming into play.
10 users convert 5 family members and become 15 users. Then those 5 new users branch out and rope in even more new users. The snowball starts rolling down the hill and things escalate quickly.
In today’s podcast, I talk about the current & future plans for onboarding new users to Steemleo (and the Steem blockchain) after having a conversation with a new user who I just onboarded right before the recording of this episode, so the ideas discussed were fresh in my mind.

STEEM is below $0.20 and many of the alts are bleeding as well. When crypto prices are dropping, what can we do?
What do we do as long-term investors and hodlers? What are our options? How can we proceed in a seemingly endless crypto winter?
In today’s podcast, I talk about the 2 options you have in a long-term bear market when you’re a deeply passionate crypto investor. This applies not only to STEEM, but to any crypto project out there.

What 3 Things Do You Tell Someone Who's Interested In Crypto but Doesn't Know Anything About It?
Anyone who's been in crypto long enough knows what it's like to have a conversation about crypto with someone who knows nothing about it but is curious to learn more.
It's very difficult to explain crypto in a short conversation. I mean, just explaining Bitcoin takes long enough... then you want to explain the Alts that you like and all the various technologies and use cases behind it all? Impossible.
In this episode I lay out 3 things I like to start off with. Drop a comment on the Steem post with this episode and let me know what 3 things you talk about first.

This first podcast will dive into why Steemleo was created in the first place.
What need are we trying to solve?
What value are we trying to add?
I think a lot of Steem businesses/communities are adding a lot of value to Steem, but we still see something FUNDAMENTAL lacking from all of this -- outward marketing of the Steem blockchain.
This podcast is just 1 idea in the long list of many ideas that Steemleo is implementing to market the Steem blockchain to a wider audience.
In marketing Steemleo to a wide investor-based audience, we are also marketing Steem.
So we start this journey by already having a podcast on the major outlets. It will probably have no viewers at first.. it will probably be terrible and awkward at first. But we will improve and grow.
