Andrew Mugford graduated from Tyndale University College in 2012, with a BA, Religious Studies. Previously, he obtained a diploma in Corporate Communication from Centennial College. He worked as an emergency medical dispatcher before returning to school.
He now works as the Digital Marketing Specialist at Tyndale University. He is married to Pam, another Tyndale graduate, and they have two marvellous children.
In this week’s Community Chapel, Dr. Ken Michell invites listeners with a reflection entitled “The Lord is your Keeper” from Psalm 121.
Dr. Ken Michell teaches Music and Worship Arts at Tyndale. Along with his work at Tyndale, Ken is the Worship Director at Bridlewood Presbyterian Church in Scarborough and serves as Vice President of the Christian Conservatory of Music, Canada.
Elizabeth Reynolds, Coordinator of Student Mentoring and Spiritual Development at Tyndale is our guest speaker. Her message is entitled “I Give Up!: Abiding with the Divine in all Things”.
Elizabeth Reynolds grew up in Ohio as a PK and graduated with a Master’s degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts (where she met her husband Ben). After spending a season in Scotland, Lizzie and her family moved to Toronto to begin the family’s work at Tyndale. Along with her work here, Lizzie is a mother to three thriving and active boys and she loves to hosts gatherings of all sorts at their home. As a skillful and compassionate listener, who is in demand as a mentor, Lizzie offers students at Tyndale several ways to connect and grow via regular prayer times, weekly Bible studies, and two personal retreats every term. Lizzie is an enthusiastic contemplative and thrives by staying physically active, participating in the work of her local congregation, and spending time in silence and solitude.

The Reverend Paul Lam is passionate about the integration of discipleship and spiritual formation. He loves the church and longs for the people of God to flourish. For many years, he served in a local congregation in the GTA and is currently the Church Life and Leadership Associate for the CBOQ where he pastors ministers and cultivates a culture of discipleship in the denomination’s churches. He is a life-long learner and enjoys playing basketball. He is married to Lis, a Korean-American, who is a content creator and food blogger and together they have three girls.

Dr. Jen Gilbertson joined the undergraduate faculty at Tyndale this past summer after a few years of teaching undergraduate and seminary courses in Saskatchewan. She takes great delight in helping students to grasp the big story of Scripture and to see their place in the story. Some of her current research interests include the implications of design, disability and neurodifference for biblical interpretation and church life.
Although a farm girl at heart, Jen is experiencing all that life in Toronto has to offer. She and her husband are discovering new trails in the GTA that they enjoy hiking with their two dogs.
For this week, Dr. Danny Foster of the Canadian Institute of Linguistics (CanIL) shares the history of John Wycliffe and William Tyndale and their impact on translating the Bible. Dr. Foster brings attention to communities who do not have access to the scriptures and invites listeners to training in Applied Linguistics.
Dr. James T. Robertson shares his reflection on our namesake’s life and talks about Tyndale University’s new podcast “Heavenly Minded Earthly Good”.
James Robertson has been teaching at Tyndale since 2014 and brings the past and present together in order to equip the students of Tyndale for the future. Along with his academic work James also serves as the Director of Tyndale's Distributed Learning Department. In this role, he oversees the development of online content and pedagogy for the entire University.
James' research and publishing explores the Canadian context of the Christian faith. He works with church planting/missionary groups from around Canada and the United States highlighting the importance of historical awareness.
On National Day of Truth and Recognition, Shari Russell, Ph.D. (cand.) reminds listeners to wrestle and lament about what it looks like to live together in a way that honours one another, brings life and health, vitality, and wholeness to all people.
Shari Russell was born into the Yellow Quill First Nation, and she and two siblings were removed from their home on the reserve during the Sixties Scoop. Shari reunited with her family in 2002 and became actively involved in Indigenous ministry in 2004. She is the Salvation Army's Territorial Indigenous Ministries consultant and has served as Chair of the Board of Indigenous Pathways.
