Statistically speaking, a large portion of sexual abuse happens by someone that the victim knows. So many parents believe that their children will tell them when something happens. As a child growing up in a close-knit family, I told no one when it happened to me. Which is why your vigilance is necessary at all times when your children are left alone with other adults.
