Through the power of the Holy Spirit, believers are encouraged to make a real difference in their families, workplaces, and communities. This message is a must-watch for anyone seeking to live with greater Spirit-filled boldness and impact the world for the Kingdom of God. Be encouraged and empowered to step out courageously for Jesus!
In this week's message from our ongoing series, The Spirit-Filled Church, Pastor Mitch Rose dives into the transformative power of worship. Worship isn't about what we receive from God; it’s about coming to Him because of who He is. It's an act of adoration and honor for everything God has done. When worship is combined with God's Word, it becomes a powerful weapon that breaks the chains of sin and bondage. Pastor Mitch emphasizes that worshiping together not only strengthens our own faith but also inspires others to worship and find freedom from their struggles. There is something uniquely powerful about collective worship—it moves hearts, transforms lives, and releases people from their personal bondage.
In this week’s message from our ongoing series, ‘The Spirit-Filled Church,’ Pastor Mitch Rose shares about the power of prayer, emphasizing that prayer should be our first response, not our last resort, in facing life’s challenges. Whether dealing with personal struggles or engaging in spiritual warfare, he highlights how some miracles and victories are only possible through prayer. A key theme is the importance of persistence in prayer, trusting in God's timing. This message reveals how prayer connects us to God's power, bringing about life-changing results.
We are starting an exciting new revival series, "The Spirit-Filled Church." Pastor Mitch Rose takes us on a journey through the powerful meanings of Passover, representing salvation, and Pentecost, highlighting the Holy Spirit’s power. He also explores the life-changing experience of being baptized in the Spirit. One of the key themes Pastor Mitch emphasizes is the importance of unity within the church to fully experience the Holy Spirit’s presence, inviting us to open our hearts to receive the Spirit’s gift, which empowers us to live our faith more fully and passionately.
In the third week of our series, "Heart of a Servant," Pastor Mitch Rose shared three reasons why many Christians struggle to live a life of true fulfillment and purpose. He pointed out that we often let our unsettled past hold us back, we tend to seek approval from the world instead of God, and try to live out our purpose alone. Pastor Mitch encourages us to overcome these obstacles by accepting God's grace, focusing on His approval, and being part of a supportive community. By doing so, we can embrace the abundant and meaningful life that God has planned for us.
We’re thrilled to continue our series, "Heart of a Servant," with this week's message. Pastor Mitch Rose takes us deeper into Luke 10:25-37, teaching about the importance of stepping out of our comfort zones to serve others. He explores how the Good Samaritan's example calls us to move beyond minimal efforts and fully commit to love, generosity, and service. This message challenges us to rethink our approach to faith and action, encouraging us to be more than passive observers. By embracing a servant's heart, we can make a significant impact in our communities and reflect Christ's love through our actions. Join us as we discover how to be ready to help others whenever they need it and truly follow the example of the Good Samaritan.
We are excited to introduce our new series, "Heart of a Servant." In this first week, Pastor Mitch Rose highlights how Jesus, despite being the most powerful and significant figure, chose service over status. He unpacks the moment when Jesus washed His disciples' feet, including Judas', demonstrating that true greatness in God's kingdom is measured by our willingness to serve others. This message challenges us to rethink our understanding of power and authority, inspiring us to follow Jesus' example in our daily lives. By embracing a servant's heart, God transforms our relationships, workplace, and spiritual journey, shaping us into the essential foundation of Christ-likeness.
As we reach the final week of our sermon series, Pastor Trent Jayroe shares a message about the courage and faith of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men stood firm when King Nebuchadnezzar ordered them to worship a golden image. Their story reminds us that when we worship God and refuse to compromise, even in difficult times, He will help us through. By witnessing our steadfast faith, others will recognize the power of the living God. This is how we can become a light to those around us.
In week four of our series, Pastor Matt Martin takes us to the well-known account of "Daniel in the Lion's Den" in chapter 6. Despite his age, Daniel's character, conviction, and courage were evident as he served his king with excellence and his God faithfully. A plot by enemies was set to destroy him, and he was cast into a den of lions, but God rescued him, prompting King Darius of the Medes to praise the living God of Daniel.Pastor Matt reflects on the life of Daniel and reminds us of the importance of building the habit of prayer and reading God's Word so that we can respond well, stand firm in our convictions, and remain confident in God even in times of crisis.
In the third week of our series, Pastor Mitch Rose takes a closer look at Daniel 5, where Daniel interprets God's warning to King Belshazzar through the mysterious handwriting on the wall. Pastor Mitch reflects on these warnings, reminding us to balance our lives and live with a sense of purpose and urgency.
Pastor Mitch Rose provided insights into balancing cultural influence with loyalty to God through Daniel 1 in the final part of the 'Bold in Babylon' series. He highlights the importance of standing firm in our faith while still loving and influencing others, and putting God's kingdom above cultural expectations. Furthermore, he stresses that maintaining strong convictions leads to blessings as we serve God with unwavering commitment.
How do you navigate a shifting culture while staying true to the values and vision in God's plan for your life?In our newest series, 'Bold in Babylon', Pastor Mitch Rose shares important principles for standing firm in our convictions. We'll explore the first chapter of Daniel, learning how culture tries to shape beliefs, values, and practices, and understanding how to remain grounded in our identity in God amidst cultural shifts.
In wrapping up the series, Pastor Mitch Rose shared insights from Galatians 5:19-25 and John 15:1-5. He reminds us that the fruits of the flesh are always in conflict with the fruits of the Spirit and to feed the fruit of the Spirit, we have to remain to the source. In John 15:1-5, Jesus describes Himself as the true vine and us as the branches. To bear fruit, we must stay connected to Him where we will continue to experience pruning for greater fruitfulness. This pruning is God’s way of helping us grow, not a punishment.
A grace-filled life is a Spirit-filled life.In week three of our series, Pastor Mitch Rose guides us in understanding the Holy Spirit through Galatians 5:16-18.To live a grace-filled life, we must understand how the Holy Spirit operates. Though He is unseen, He is powerful and often moves in unpredictable ways. Recognizing these qualities, we can better understand His guidance and influence in our everyday experiences.
Grace without truth is meaningless but truth without grace is downright mean. In the second week of our new series, Pastor Mitch Rose talks about finding the right balance between grace and truth through Galatians 2:19-21. He points out three good things that grace gives us when we start following Christ, leaving the old self behind: a new position, a new family, and a new lens for life.
In the final part of the series, ‘When Anxiety Attacks’, Pastor Mitch Rose shares with us five ways to survive a mental breakdown. Drawing from the experiences of biblical figures who faced anxiety and depression, he emphasizes the reassuring truth that we are never alone in our struggles and that God's presence can bring healing into our lives.
We all desire to have peace of mind. However, in today's world, with numerous options and the fear of making the wrong decision, anxiety creeps in. Pastor Mitch Rose shared a powerful message on overcoming anxiety while making decisions and reassures us that even amidst wrong turns in our lives, God can bring forth good things. Let us, therefore, live a life in the posture of prayer and the perspective of praise. By seeking God's wisdom and doing what is right, we can find the peace we need to navigate life's challenges with confidence.Section Titles: Visit our website: https://www.cityhillstx.com/ Connect with us on social media! It's easy to lose sight of God's presence when we're overwhelmed by anxiety and negativity. Even the great prophet Elijah experienced anxiety after his powerful encounter with God on Mount Carmel.Pastor Mitch Rose reminds us that our current situation is temporary because God is always working behind the scenes. So when anxiety strikes, we can take comfort in knowing that we're not alone. God is always with us, guiding us through our struggles, just as He guided Elijah. You don't have to run away or distract yourself with busyness; it is possible to face your fears and overcome your anxiety because God is faithful.Visit our website: https://www.cityhillstx.com/ Connect with us on social media! Is it possible to be unbothered in a world where stress and anxiety seem to be the norm? Pastor Mitch Rose has introduced a new series called "When Anxiety Attacks," where he shares both biblical wisdom and practical ways in overcoming anxiety. It's important to note that anxiety is not a sin, but rather an indicator of a deeper issue that can lead to sinful places if left undealt. Even Jesus Himself experienced anxiety in the garden of Gethsemane. Philippians 4:6-7 teaches us that the key to experiencing God's peace is through prayer and praise. By putting our faith in God above our circumstances and choosing to pray and praise Him, He can transform our panic into peace.Visit our website: https://www.cityhillstx.com/ Connect with us on social media!
