The pre-game is usually the chillest part of the night. You listen to music, kick back with some drinks, and take a moment to catch up with friends before the loud music at the club makes that impossible. Miami-born, New York-based DJ and producer Jubilee is turning her pre-game into a biweekly podcast, where she plays her favorite new music, hangs out with friends, and asks them to share what they’ve been working on and listening to. Tune in every two weeks for an intimate chat with some of the DJs, producers, music writers, vocalists, rappers, and other club world personalities whose disparate perspectives, cultural backgrounds, and sounds comprise the unique melting pot that is New York's club scene. The city has a deep history of dance music—these are the people who keep it alive.

It's no secret that Vivian Host, a.k.a Star Eyes, has been a huge influence to Jubilee for many years; they even used to be roommates. Star Eyes was once the editor of XLR8R Magazine (as well as former Editor-in-Chief of THUMP) and had originally co-founded NYC's iconic, now sadly defunct, label Trouble and Bass. She's often cited as among the the first to claim "bass music" in the US overall. Back during the time Jubilee started going out in NYC and honing her craft, Star Eyes was also part of a notable DJ duo called Syrup Girls. Eventually, the two became friends, started working, spinning, and eventually touring together.

Back in October, Brooklyn's FaltyDL, aka Drew Lustman, put out his sixth album, Heaven is for Quitters, on his very own Blueberry Records. The release coincided with that of Jubilee’s debut album, After Hours, and on episode one of the Pre-Game, the two artists sit down to chat about album names, the differences between DJing and producing, and out-of-the-box release strategies (hint: Drew once debuted a trailer for an album on Pornhub). Jubilee opens with some tracks from After Hours and others that inspired it, and at the end, FaltyDl plays a 30-minute mixconsisting almost entirely of his own productions.
