Welcome to another empowering episode of “She Leads Confidently,” where we dive deep into the essence of true leadership and personal growth. In this episode, titled “Empowered to Ask: The Strength in Seeking Help,” we explore a topic that resonates deeply with many of us: the courage to ask for help.
We often hear that asking for help is a sign of weakness, but today, we’re flipping that narrative on its head. I’m here to remind you that seeking assistance is not only a sign of strength but a crucial step in your journey toward becoming the best version of yourself. As women leaders, we’re conditioned to have all the answers, to be the problem solvers, and to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. But there’s immense power in vulnerability, and there’s profound strength in admitting that we can’t do it all alone.
Throughout this episode, we’ll delve into personal stories and experiences that highlight the transformative impact of asking for help. I’ll share my own journey of learning to reach out, from my time in the Air Force to building a successful career and becoming a CEO. You’ll hear about the moments when I felt stuck, overwhelmed, and unsure of my next steps, and how seeking guidance from others helped me navigate those challenges and emerge stronger and more confident.
We’ll discuss practical strategies for recognizing when you need help and how to approach others for support. Whether it’s seeking mentorship, collaborating with colleagues, or leaning on friends and family, knowing how to ask for help effectively can open doors to new opportunities and foster deeper connections.
In this episode, we’ll also address the emotional barriers that prevent us from seeking help. Fear of judgment, appearing weak, or feeling like a burden can hold us back. But by understanding these fears and reframing our mindset, we can break through these barriers and embrace the support that’s available to us.
As we journey through this conversation, you’ll learn about the importance of building a support network, and cultivating a community of like-minded individuals who uplift and inspire you. We’ll explore the concept of reciprocal relationships, where giving and receiving help creates a dynamic of mutual growth and empowerment.
Finally, we’ll touch on the broader impact of asking for help on our overall well-being and success. When we open ourselves to the possibility of assistance, we allow ourselves to grow, learn, and thrive in ways we never thought possible. It’s about recognizing that we are not alone in our struggles and that by leaning on others, we can achieve greater heights than we ever could on our own.
So, join me in this heartfelt and enlightening episode of “She Leads Confidently” as we uncover the true power of asking for help. Let’s redefine what it means to be strong, capable leaders by embracing our vulnerabilities and celebrating the strength that comes from seeking support. Welcome to Episode 117 of the She Leads Confidently. Today, we’re diving deep into the topic of imposter syndrome—a psychological pattern where individuals doubt their accomplishments and have a persistent fear of being exposed as a “fraud.” Despite evidence of their competence, those experiencing imposter syndrome remain convinced that they do not deserve the success they have achieved. This episode aims to unpack the complexities of imposter syndrome, explore its origins, and provide practical strategies for overcoming it.
What is Imposter Syndrome?
Imposter syndrome was first identified in 1978 by psychologists Pauline Rose Clance and Suzanne Imes. It is characterized by chronic self-doubt and a sense of intellectual fraudulence that overrides any feelings of success or external proof of competence. People with imposter syndrome often attribute their accomplishments to luck or other external factors, rather than to their own abilities.
The Pervasiveness of Imposter Syndrome
Imposter syndrome affects individuals across various fields and levels of achievement. It is particularly common among high-achievers and can be found in industries ranging from academia to business, the arts, and beyond. Despite its prevalence, it is rarely discussed openly, leading many to suffer in silence.
Personal Anecdotes and Experiences
Many successful individuals have publicly shared their experiences with imposter syndrome. For example, renowned author Maya Angelou once said, “I have written eleven books, but each time I think, ‘Uh oh, they’re going to find out now. I’ve run a game on everybody, and they’re going to find me out.’” These personal stories highlight that imposter syndrome does not discriminate and can affect anyone, regardless of their level of success or recognition.
The Roots of Imposter Syndrome
The origins of imposter syndrome are multifaceted and can be traced back to various sources:
Symptoms of Imposter Syndrome
Recognizing the symptoms of imposter syndrome is the first step toward overcoming it. Common symptoms include:
– Self-Doubt: Constantly doubting your abilities and fearing that you will be exposed as a fraud.
– Attributing Success to External Factors: Believing that luck, timing, or other people’s help are the reasons for your success, rather than your own skills and effort.
– Overworking: Working excessively to prevent others from discovering your supposed incompetence.
– Fear of Failure: Avoiding challenges or opportunities due to a fear of failing and being exposed.
– Discounting Praise: Downplaying or rejecting positive feedback about your performance.
Psychological Impact
Imposter syndrome can have significant psychological effects, including anxiety, stress, and depression. It can also lead to burnout, as individuals may overwork themselves in an attempt to compensate for their perceived inadequacies. Additionally, it can hinder personal and professional growth by causing individuals to avoid taking risks or pursuing new opportunities.
Strategies for Overcoming Imposter Syndrome
While overcoming imposter syndrome is not an overnight process, several strategies can help:
The Role of Organizations
Organizations can play a crucial role in addressing imposter syndrome among their employees. By fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment, organizations can help mitigate the effects of imposter syndrome. Here are some ways organizations can help:
Personal Growth and Empowerment
Overcoming imposter syndrome is a journey of personal growth and empowerment. It involves building self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-compassion. Here are some additional strategies to support this journey:
The Impact of Overcoming Imposter Syndrome
The impact of overcoming imposter syndrome can be profound. By addressing and managing imposter syndrome, individuals can experience:
– Increased Confidence: A greater sense of self-assurance and belief in their abilities.
– Improved Mental Health: Reduced anxiety, stress, and depression.
– Enhanced Performance: Greater willingness to take on challenges and pursue new opportunities.
– Stronger Relationships: More authentic and supportive relationships with colleagues, friends, and family.
– Personal Fulfillment: A deeper sense of satisfaction and fulfillment in both personal and professional life.
Many successful individuals have shared their journeys of overcoming imposter syndrome. For example:
– Michelle Obama: The former First Lady of the United States has spoken openly about her struggles with imposter syndrome and how she learned to overcome it by focusing on her values and purpose.
– Sheryl Sandberg: The COO of Facebook has discussed how imposter syndrome affected her career and how she addressed it by leaning into her strengths and seeking support from mentors.
– Tom Hanks: The acclaimed actor has admitted to experiencing imposter syndrome throughout his career and has emphasized the importance of self-acceptance and perseverance.
Conclusion
Imposter syndrome is a common and challenging experience, but it is not insurmountable. By understanding its origins, recognizing its symptoms, and implementing strategies to overcome it, individuals can break free from the cycle of self-doubt and embrace their true potential. Whether you are a high-achiever struggling with feelings of inadequacy or someone supporting a loved one through their journey, remember that overcoming imposter syndrome is a path to greater confidence, fulfillment, and success.

In this pivotal episode of “She Leads Confidently,” titled “The Invisible Armor: Unmasking the Inner Struggles of Women Leaders,” we embark on an insightful exploration into the unseen challenges that shadow the journey of women in leadership. This episode peels back the layers of the metaphorical armor that many women leaders wear — an armor composed of resilience, determination, and a seemingly unbreakable facade of success. Yet, beneath this armor lies a vulnerable reality marked by loneliness, doubt, and the perpetual uncertainty of “What’s next?”
Despite achieving remarkable success and holding positions of significant influence, many women leaders grapple with internal adversaries such as imposter syndrome, a relentless pursuit of perfection, and a deep-seated fear of vulnerability. These challenges, though invisible to the external observer, can significantly erode one’s sense of confidence and overall well-being, creating a dichotomy between outward accomplishments and inner turmoil.
Through a series of heartfelt personal narratives shared by women who have navigated these complex waters, combined with insights from seasoned experts in leadership, psychology, and organizational behavior, this episode delves into the essence of these internal conflicts. We aim to shed light on the emotional and psychological landscape of leadership, offering listeners a deeper understanding of the intricate dynamics at play.
This episode is meticulously designed to explore strategies for removing the invisible armor many leaders find themselves trapped within. By fostering genuine connections that transcend professional accomplishments and embracing authenticity in every facet of leadership, we provide a beacon of hope and a comprehensive roadmap for navigating these silent struggles.
Join us on “She Leads Confidently” as we dissect these complexities, offering a blend of storytelling, expert advice, and practical strategies. Our mission is to empower women leaders to lead with grace, authenticity, and strength, transforming internal challenges into opportunities for growth and connection. Let’s embark on this journey together, redefining leadership one story at a time.
In the ‘She Leads Confidently’ podcast, on our transformative journey, we delve deeper into what this period of introspection and self-discovery truly entailed. This wasn’t just a pause from the relentless pace of life; it was a profound exploration into the depths of our being, a sacred time dedicated to understanding the core of our existence and how we can best serve those around us, particularly women leaders who find themselves caught in the throes of stagnation and self-doubt.
During these months away from the public eye, our journey took us on paths less traveled, through the thickets of our own fears, hopes, and dreams. It was a time of shedding layers of preconceived notions about success and leadership, peeling back the veneer to reveal the raw, unfiltered essence of our true selves. This process was not without its challenges; confronting the shadows, acknowledging the barriers we’ve erected around our hearts and minds, and facing the vulnerabilities we’ve long hidden away requires courage and steadfastness.
Yet, this journey was also marked by moments of sublime clarity and profound realizations. We discovered that to genuinely empower others, we must first anchor ourselves in our own power, embracing our vulnerabilities as much as our strengths. We learned that serving women leaders—helping them break free from the ‘invisible chains’ of self-limitation, doubt, and societal expectations—begins with a deep, authentic connection to our own inner wisdom and a commitment to living our truth.
This video is not just a recounting of a personal journey; it is an invitation to each of you to embark on your own voyage of self-discovery. It’s a call to explore the vast landscapes within, to question, to listen, and to emerge with a renewed sense of purpose and passion. Our mission is to create a ripple effect, inspiring and empowering women leaders to recognize their potential, reclaim their power, and passionately pursue their true calling.
As we share this video, we open our hearts and our journey to you, not as an expert, but as a fellow traveler on the path to self-realization and empowerment. Together, we can transform our inner landscapes, and in doing so, reshape the world around us. This marks not just a return, but a rebirth—a reawakening to the possibilities that lie within us and the incredible impact we can make when we step into our power and lead with purpose and passion.

Welcome to today’s episode of ‘She Leads Confidently’ podcast! Today we’ll be discussing Overcoming Perfectionism, a topic that many of us can relate to perfectionism. It’s easy to fall into the trap of believing that perfectionism is a good thing. After all, isn’t it better to strive for excellence in all that we do?
However, the truth is that perfectionism can be harmful to our mental health and well-being. It can lead us to believe that we are not good enough and that we must be perfect to succeed. In reality, this kind of thinking can hold us back and prevent us from reaching our full potential.
At its core, perfectionism is rooted in fear. Fear of failure, rejection, and not being good enough. We believe that if we can be perfect, we won’t have to face these fears. But the reality is that perfectionism is an unattainable goal. No one is perfect, and striving for perfection only leads to disappointment and frustration.
Instead of focusing on being perfect, we should focus on being our best selves. This means embracing our imperfections and learning from our mistakes. It means taking risks and being willing to fail. It means being kind to ourselves and recognizing that we are enough, just as we are.
So, if you find yourself falling into the trap of perfectionism, remember that it’s okay to make mistakes. It’s okay to be imperfect. You are enough, just as you are. By embracing your imperfections and striving to be your best self, you’ll find that you can achieve more than you ever thought possible.
Thank you for tuning in to today’s episode of the ‘She Leads Confidently’ podcast. Remember to lean not into being good enough and stop holding yourself back.
Never let the fear of failure hold you back. Too many people miss their moment because fear holds them back. But…the good thing is another moment is right around the bend.
Figure out what you are fearing, heal it, and get moving. Understand what fear truly is, not being prepared for the moment. Not having the mindset, the confidence in you to keep moving forward. Fear is an emotion that can be taught to us as children. Sometimes that fear you feel it doesn’t even belong to you. It’s a fear a parent held or a teacher, friend, or neighbor who knows.
But think the one thing holding you back from your true self may not even be your thing. First, feel the fear, then tell yourself you can overcome that fear and get moving. Your dreams are waiting. Your true self is waiting for you to take your foot off the brake and goooo.
Take it from me, who spent too many years fearful—a scaredy cat. I realized the only thing I should fear is not living the best version of myself possible. Are you ready to start living your life? Then GO.
Heal Your Self Doubt and get unstuck. Self Doubts are DREAM KILLER.
In my time as a coach, I have seen more women hold back because of self-doubt. Some can call it self-belief, a value system, or countless other words. However, in the end, it is self-doubt. They lack in believing they can do it.
How do they know if self-doubt is holding them back? They have many ideas for starting a business or implementing new ideas at their job or improving relationships. But they never ever take action. People say they are dreamers, not doers.
Then they jump on the hamster wheel to beat themselves up. Why or why can’t I get moving? When I work with women watching the light go on is amazing. Watching them discover it is self-doubt and also seeing where it starts and, more important…how to heal it.
Once their self-doubt is healed, they have clarity, courage, and unstoppable courage. Who in the heck doesn’t want that? https://karenbarno.com/whats-next/
Women with self-doubt may have a range of deep-seated worries that contribute to their lack of confidence and self-esteem. Here are five common worries that women with self-doubt may experience:
Not being good enough: A common worry for women with self-doubt is that they are not good enough in some way. They may worry that they are not smart enough, attractive enough, successful enough, or skilled enough to measure up to others.
Fear of failure: Women with self-doubt may have a deep-seated fear of failure. They may worry that if they take risks or pursue their goals, they will fail and be judged or criticized by others. This fear can prevent them from taking action or trying new things.
Need for perfection: Some women with self-doubt may feel that they need to be perfect in order to be accepted or valued by others. They may worry that any mistake or imperfection will lead to rejection or disapproval.
Being judged or criticized: Women with self-doubt may worry about being judged or criticized by others. They may feel that they are constantly under scrutiny and that any misstep or perceived flaw will be noticed and judged harshly.
Lack of control: Women with self-doubt may feel that they lack control over their lives and their circumstances. They may worry that they are at the mercy of external factors and that they are powerless to change their situation. This can lead to feelings of helplessness and despair.
Hello, and welcome to this video blog about the difference between an identity shift and transformation when making changes in your life. First, let’s define what we mean by these terms. An identity shift refers to a change in how we see ourselves, our beliefs, and our values. It involves a shift in our sense of identity and who we believe ourselves to be. On the other hand, transformation involves a significant change in our behavior and habits, resulting in a significant change in our lives.
Now, it’s essential to understand that an identity shift can lead to transformation, but not all identity shifts necessarily result in transformation. For example, if you identify as a smoker and you make the shift to identify as a non-smoker, but you don’t change your behavior, you won’t experience transformation. Transformation requires action, and it’s the actions we take that create lasting change. Identifying as a non-smoker is the first step, but it’s the decision to quit smoking and take action toward that goal that creates transformation.
So, how do we create lasting change in our lives? We start by identifying the beliefs and values that are holding us back and making an intentional shift in how we see ourselves. For example, if you’ve always identified as someone who is bad with money but you want to change that, start by identifying as someone who is financially responsible.
Next, take action toward your new identity. If you want to be financially responsible, start by creating a budget and sticking to it. Take steps towards paying off debt and saving for the future. Remember, creating lasting change requires both an identity shift and transformational action. When we change how we see ourselves and take action toward our goals, we can create a life that aligns with our true selves. So, start by identifying the beliefs and values that are holding you back and make an intentional shift toward your true identity.
Then, take action towards your goals, and watch as your life transforms in ways you never thought possible. I hope this video blog has been helpful in understanding the difference between an identity shift and transformation when making changes in your life. Remember, you have the power to create lasting change in your life.
My #DryJanuary Journey
Hello everyone, and welcome to today’s podcast, ‘From Booze to My #DryJanuary Journey’ where we will discuss From Booze to Dry January and the journey to stop drinking. Dry January is a movement where people pledge to give up alcohol for the entire month of January to reset their relationship with alcohol.
The journey to becoming sober is personal and requires much self-reflection. But, I believe four key things are essential to making this journey successful. These four D’s are Decision, Discipline, Desire, and Determination.
The first D is Decision. This is where you make the decision to quit alcohol for the month. This is a critical step as it sets the tone for the rest of your journey. It’s important to understand why you are doing this, what your goals are, and how you plan to achieve them.
The second D is Discipline. This is where you have to stick to your decision and maintain your sobriety. This is the most challenging part of the journey but also the most rewarding. You need to have the discipline to say no to alcohol when you are tempted, avoid social situations that may trigger you to drink, and focus on becoming sober.
The third D is Desire. This is where you have the desire to accomplish your goal and become sober. You have to have the drive to make a change in your life and to stick to your decision. Your desire will keep you motivated and focused on your goal, even when it gets tough.
The final D is Determination. This is where you have the true determination to succeed in your journey. You have to be committed to making a change in your life and to stick to your goal no matter what. Determination is what will get you through the tough times and help you stay on track.
For me, Dry January was a life-changing experience. I feel more alive, have more energy and my intuition is more focused and locked in. I highly recommend giving Dry January a try, even if it’s just for one month. You never know how much it can change your life.
In conclusion, the journey to becoming sober is a personal one that requires a lot of self-reflection and discipline. But with the four D’s – Decision, Discipline, Desire, and Determination- you can successfully transition from alcohol to a sober lifestyle. So, why not try Dry January and see how it can change your life?
Thank you for listening to today’s podcast. I hope you found it informative and helpful. Until next time, take care and stay sober!
Let’s talk about something that is very important to me, and that is the hidden costs of constantly retelling my trauma story.
Many of us who have experienced trauma may feel the need to share our story with others, whether it’s through therapy, support groups, or just talking to friends and family. While this can be a helpful way to process and cope with our trauma, it’s important to recognize that constantly retelling our story can also have negative consequences. One of the hidden costs of constantly retelling our trauma story is that it can prevent us from moving forward and healing.
When we are constantly reliving our trauma through our words, it can be difficult to let go and move on. Additionally, retelling our story can also trigger feelings of distress and anxiety, making it difficult to fully heal and recover. Another hidden cost is that it can be draining and tiring to constantly have to relive and share our trauma.
It can be emotionally taxing and can lead to feelings of exhaustion and burnout. Furthermore, constantly retelling our trauma story can also make it difficult to maintain healthy relationships, as it can be overwhelming for friends and family to hear about our trauma over and over again.
It’s important to remember that healing from trauma is a process, and it’s okay to take a break from talking about our trauma if we need to. It’s also important to find other ways to cope and process our trauma, such as through therapy, journaling, or creative outlets. Remember, constantly retelling our trauma story can have hidden costs, and it’s important to be mindful of this and take care of ourselves as we heal and recover.

The Law of Assumption: How Our Beliefs Shape Our Reality
Have you ever heard the saying, “What you think, you become”? This statement encapsulates the concept of the law of assumption, which maintains that our assumptions about life can shape our reality.
According to this theory, what we assume to be true is what we will eventually manifest. In other words, if we believe that something is possible, we are more likely to make it happen. On the other hand, if we believe that something is impossible, we are less likely to put in the effort to make it a reality.
The law of assumption is a powerful force that can positively and negatively impact fulfilling our wishes and desires. For example, if you assume that you will never be able to achieve your goals, you are likely to give up before you even try. On the other hand, if you believe that you can achieve your goals, you are more likely to put in the effort and persevere through challenges. So how can we harness the power of the law of assumption to create a positive reality?
Here are a few tips: Identify your limiting beliefs: The first step in harnessing the power of the law of assumption is to become aware of the beliefs that are holding you back. These might include beliefs about your own capabilities, the world around you, or the future.
Challenge these beliefs: Once you have identified your limiting beliefs, you must challenge them. Ask yourself where these beliefs came from and if they are truly supported by evidence.
Replace negative beliefs with positive ones: Once you have identified and challenged your limiting beliefs, it’s time to replace them with positive ones. This might involve setting specific goals and creating a plan to achieve them or simply adopting a more optimistic outlook on life.
By following these steps, you can tap into the power of the law of assumption and manifest the reality you desire. Remember, what you believe is what you will eventually manifest, so choose your beliefs wisely.
Understanding the Power of your Story. Reconnecting, Rewiring, and ReIgnite Possibilities. Each person has a story that empowers or disempowers them. The childhood stories are their view of an incident that occurred in their life, be it trauma, parents divorcing, death, or good times.
The Power of Your Story often is what holds them back and makes them take a different turn in their life. Perhaps they were amazing pianists after a loss of a beloved friend, and she never played the piano again. In fact, she all but forgets she was an excellent pianist until much later in life.
Her friend was shocked when she told her friend how she used to play an instrument. When asked why she stopped, she had no idea. She just did.
This is how Shadows hide within.
Her mind buried the fact that, as a child, her friend died. She linked the piano to death, but she had no idea. However, going through these steps will show you how to reconnect within, rewire the stories to bring out the truth, and reignite your possibilities.
Become the best version of yourself starting today! Interested in looking at your Shadow Story?

Power of Asking Questions These questions give you the opportunity to reset your thinking. I know these questions work because they took me from broke, homeless, and angry to a CEO making a six-figure income, author, speaker, and a leadership coach. I know these three questions work The first question is, Who Am I? Before you start these questions, go somewhere quiet where it's just you and a piece of paper, and turn off any distractions. If you can meditate first, take 5-10 minutes. Then ask Who am I? And is not as in Who am I as a leader? Mother, businesswoman, but who am I at my core? Are you caring, loving, or angry? Look at all the different emotions you feel, and write them down The second question Who do you want to be? Who do you dream of being? Who is that person you dream of becoming? Write it out in detail. I mean, don't just put down I want to be a best-selling author, or I want to start my own company or support the less fortunate. Write down in detail. For me, Blue Rose Lifestyle will have a digital magazine, an online TV show, a podcast, coaching, and online courses. I have it all spelled out. Write down in as much detail as possible and read it at least 2 times a day. Allow yourself to course correct as well. The third question is, Who do you have to become to be that person? What do you have to do? Now I used to say, how do we get you to that person? But that's more of a roadmap, and I can give that to you in coaching or in my Free Facebook group Spiritual Confidence. That's a roadmap of the steps you need to take. Instead, Who do you have to become to be that person? How do we get you there? How do we work on that? What needs to change or be improved? What belief systems do you need to shift? What Shadows are buried within? Do you need to change friends? Change jobs? There's so much to look at. That's where you start Reconnecting within asking yourself, who am I within? And just sit, listening for the answers. And then, you need to Rewire your thinking. For instance, many people have a money wound. They may think that only liars, cheats, thieves, and old people make six figures. If that is how they think, they’re not going to get there. You must have the belief, the self-belief, that you can accomplish anything you want to accomplish. There's nothing you can't do. You must believe that belief at your core. I knew before I started as a coach that I would be a force to be reckoned with. I believe in women's abilities to change and people's desire for more. Everybody wants their dream. It's my mission in life to show them the path to get there. Then you need to Reignite Your Possibilities? Sit and write down everything you've ever dreamt of doing. Go back to childhood. What did you want to do when you were in kindergarten, first grade, fifth grade, you know, senior in high school, college, Junior College jobs, etc? What did you want to do? Then look for an overarching theme, my overarching theme has always been a type of healing, guiding, and entertaining, that's why I've written books. Helping people heal has always been my North Star. As I've talked about on my podcast, your beliefs are everything. Sit with these questions. Take your time, get a journal, and write in your journal. I went back to the written word on paper (versus electronic) because there's something magical about putting your hand on the paper and writing it out. That makes the connection between heaven and earth, between your thoughts, the paper, and the universe. Get a beautiful journal and great pencils. Sit down and ask yourself these three questions. If you need any help, please let me know. Just reach out to me DM or email me. You can find me on YouTube or my free Facebook group, Spiritual Confidence Let's get to work. Be true to yourself
I have spent 2-3 years thinking, healing, and becoming the best version of myself today. 2019 was a year filled with changes, some good but most, not good.
I watched someone I knew descend into drugs and alcohol, staffing turmoil, and an extremely sick daughter to finish 2019. (That was the beginning of COVID; however, the general public didn't know it was here until 2020. That could be a different podcast.)
During COVID, I was the only person at the office and had a lot of time to think. I had large Post-it boards all around the office as I tried to figure my stuff out. Notes, comments, goals, dreams, etc. Some dreams/goals made the final cut but most ended up in the trash can. I am sure the janitorial staff and UPS drivers thought an insane person worked there when they stopped by. 😂
When 2022 started, I had my mojo back. I felt free, clear, and happy. I am as confident today as I was when I was a medic in the USAF, and that was many years ago. The sad fact was I lost my confidence and never knew how to get it back. I spent years reading all I could about change, transformation being a better me.
It took over 30+ years to rediscover who I am at my core. I have learned as women, people felt, and still feel in some cases, free to judge us, dismiss us, be rude, pay us less, and ...you get the idea.
Today. I am totally different. I asked myself three questions: 1) Who am I? 2) Who do I want to be? 3) How do I get there? Today those 3 questions form the framework of my new 90-day Coaching program. I have been called to help women figure themselves out. Sort out their past, knowing that healing them becomes easier once they can put meaning to the past event. We work together as she decides who she wants to be.
What will be the best version of her lookalike? Then we develop a plan for her to become that person.

Give Yourself Permission
Welcome to Episode #89 of the Blue Rose podcast.
This week we chat about giving yourself permission. The difference between how women bet on Jeopardy versus men.
Especially, you see, women over 50. Women born before 1985 did not have many, if any, options in the workplace.
The workplace was opening to women, and if they needed or wanted to work, they took what they could get. And at a considerably lower wage.
That theme followed them throughout their career. They may have climbed to the corporate ladder and, in the event, made it to the C-suite, but the journey was arduous.
Many battles were waged, such as lower pay, longer hours, and if they had children, many left the workplace.
Not because they wanted to but because the work hours and page did not make it conducive to women. When they returned, they had to work harder to get back in.
Many did and were successful.
Then their 50,55, or 60th birthday arrived. Retirement looming. The question of what's next begins. With each passing year, this little voice grows louder and louder.
For many, this is the first time they choose what they want to do in their next 2-30 years. Money, family obligations, and husbands' careers are no longer the driving force.
These women get to decide what makes their heart sing. However, and it’s big, so many don’t know the answer to Who am I and What do I WANT TO DO?
They never had time to answer the most fundamental questions. Until now.
This is where I come in. I help women develop the Courage to look within. Begin asking themselves some hard yet long overdue questions about what is happening with their soul.
Seeking Clarity is the next area to be explored. If there is no clarity on what they want to do, churning and burning occur. The merry-go-round of doubt. (I know what you may be thinking, and yes, successful women often get cause on the merry-go-round. Why? Many different fears kick in. But more on this later.)
Asking permission is a part of the path to success for women over 50. This was taught in childhood and carried on throughout their life… until now.
Permit Yourself to start your new beginnings and limitless possibilities by telling a more empowering story.
Front line lessons learned.
Veronica Santarelli is CEO and founder of Grassp medical cannabis. Plus, she has a podcast titled ‘A Diet Obsessed.’
During this podcast, we discuss a wide range of topics, from fitness to the state of cannabis and future projections, including the different strains of cannabis and how rare it is for there to be a female leader within the cannabis industry.
Veronica became involved with medical cannabis before it became was considered mainstream. As with most founders, she saw a problem and decided she needed to create a company to resolve the common challenges.
She is an ever-rarer CEO. Veronica is willing to discuss blocks that hold her stuck. Such as impostor syndrome, self-doubt, and negative self-talk. She was blessed to have strong role models. Her mother put herself through college after she divorced Veronica's dad. She then went on to become CEO of a mental health organization.
Being raised by strong women Veronica, it's easy to see where Veronica got her faith and courage to persevere. Starting in other positions within the company, she was able to see how different divisions interact together.
If you think you would make a great CEO, go for it. Until you accomplish that goal, take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to you.
When I became the CEO of Arizona ALFA, it was after working two jobs. One at a retirement community and the other at Arizona ALFA. I asked a million questions and volunteered for additional duties. I needed to learn all about starting a nonprofit and being a leader.
Veronica teaches my listeners a valuable lesson. Hard work, perseverance, desire, and a goal will win 9 times out of 10.
If being a CEO is not enough, Veronica started a podcast called A Diet Obsessed. After dealing with body positivity, weight, and other issues, she wanted to, once again, show women they are perfect the way they are. In her podcast, she chats about weight loss, fitness, diet culture, body acceptance, food obsessions and reviews other podcasts.
Enjoy this podcast, it’s packed with fantastic information. You may want to open up your note-taking app while listening. I have listened to this a few times and have a few pages of notes.

Tales of being Catfished.
I was catfished. That was the first thing Dr. Sandra Brownstein said on a phone call with me. Now to be transparent, I barely knew what being ‘Catfished’ meant. I saw a show about it once, and it hurt my heart. The one I saw was about a woman who was catfished by another woman. She was left brokenhearted, and it made me so sad. Never even considered watching another episode.
Sandra had to spend the first part of the call explaining what catfished worked. How these guys troll social media sites to find their next victim. One shocking thing she told me was what percentage of profiles on Linkedin are catfishers. I was shocked.
What an insidious thing to do, Catfish innocent people.
Dr. Brownstein openly discussed her experiences with the Catfisher. The techniques they use to reel women in. Plus the same proven blueprint is used by 99% of these con artists. The Catfished builds up trust and love quickly, and once these women buy into the You’re my Queen, I love you and start packing, we are going to get married and travel the world. He'll pay for everything. But STOP the presses. Something bad happens to him than the money request comes. It can be small like $500 for a plane ticket or $500,000 to pay a downpayment but don't worry when he gets here, he'll pay you back. Except that NEVER happens. When he gets the money, he is gone baby gone.
They ask for phone cards and mobile phones, then before they know what’s happening, they ask for 10,000+++ dollars. Many women get whipped out of all their savings, and the Catfisher is long gone. He moved on to his next victim.
I think these guys ‘talk’ with 3-4 women at a time to get their money. They prey upon single lonely women looking for companionship. These bad actors know all the triggers to pull, leaving many women with emotional trauma. Many spend years trying to recover financially and emotionally.
Dr. Brownstein could spot the scheme and left, not losing anything other than time and a few open wounds. She talks about how the process is done, the commonalities, and the red flags.
Join the conversation and bring a notebook. This session is note-taking worthy.
Positivity Wins!
Why a growth mindset matter? Are you fascinated by what determines a high performer and the rest? What makes Kobe, Kobe? Diana Taurasi, great? Tom Brady a 6th-round draft pick. Stephon Curry is possibly the greatest three-point shooter of all time.
What sets them apart? Easy. Growth Mindset. They believe they are the best at what they do. So, at their core, they believe they are the best and work to achieve that goal. Their self-belief is a powerful tool of the mind.
Successful people in sports, raising children, and relationships are all convinced they are 3-5% better at what they do. For example, Kobe most likely believed he was at least 3% better than the next second-best NBA player. Tom Brady believes he is at least 3% better, and the list continues.
Did you know that when you speak a negative word or expression out loud, it becomes 40-70% more powerful? Just one negative expression can set all the progress you have worked on back. All that hard work disciple goes out the window.
The human mind was designed to lean into the negative versus the positive. Remember, Caveman and cavewoman's brain was all about survival once they left the cave. Therefore, they pondered every NEGATIVE outcome that could go wrong, and that practice continues in most humans.
Why? I think most do not realize they can impact their mindset. They can turn it into a positive mind machine developed to support them versus holding them back. Is it easy? Nope? Is it worth it, YES! Thousand times, yes. Being the driver of your destiny versus being the passenger helps grow your mindset and achieve your dreams faster.
Each person has a Blue Rose. A calling that is unique only to YOU. NO one in the Universe can do exactly what you can do. But that is what makes you a human being in this Universe.
What path will you choose? One of negative or positive thinking? Let me know in the comments.
What patterns are on replay.
What is your identity? People often confuse identity with what they do, their job, position, or pay grade. People never think about who they are at their center. Or are you much more than that?
For instance, are you Barbara, the nurse, the mother, master's student, wife, and the list goes on? Which one? I would argue that people are a compilation of all they have accomplished from birth to death. All the experiences of a life lived to inform them of who they are.
Our stories begin shortly after birth. Children hear adults constantly talking around the, they may not understand the conversation or the words however they get locked into their subconscious as they get older if they hear the same words, to them, it's true.
For instance, if a baby is 1 1/2 to 2 years old, an adult says geez, the baby seems slow. or not walking yet, or processing as fast, or is a chubby slow starter. Or, if they are lucky, she hears she seems really smart, advanced, and perfect in everything she does. A superstar. The baby hears this. Plus, all the chatter that surrounds them through their first 8 years can leave a profound impact on the.
People evolve and grow. As a human, one of our goals is to evolve. Constantly improve. Now that doesn’t always happen. Often people get stuck in a certain part of their story, and that ‘stuck’ place is where they remain. Never really understanding what they can’t see to move forward. With the passage of time, they lose sight of their dreams. Start settling.
Their dream changes to match the reality of where they are today. It becomes a much smaller dream and smaller identity.
Learn how to find the belief holding you back and start changing it, healing it. NOW.
Mindset matters.
After walking off the stage after my Power of Positivity presentation, an older gentleman sat discreetly by the exit waiting patiently to speak with me. The story he told me brought tears to my eyes, and 100% confirmed what I always knew…the amazing power of the mind.
I often talk of my speech impediment, where I have trouble saying the letters R and S. How my English teacher encouraged me to do public speaking. Not letting a ‘small’ issue cause me not to go after my dreams. At that time, my speech was an impediment as not a small issue until she showed it was.
This gentleman told me was a paid speaker who has spoken worldwide. Both across the pond and in America. He spoke deliberately as he told me about his amazing career. He told me how my presentation hit home, and he had to tell his story.
He has a speech impediment as well. When he was in school, HIS English teacher encouraged him not to quit. She told him that if he trusted her, she could show him how not to stutter when he spoke. Of course, he waited eagerly for the miracle she was about to offer.
She told him to curl his toes when he got up to speak. He had no idea how that would work, but he tried it. And he DID NOT stutter. And from that moment on, when he does public speaking, he curls his toes.
What an amazing story! Mindset matters.
Confessions of a Life Coach
I was recently asked that, and it caused me to pause. One of my customers asked me ‘How am I not a millionaire?’. I had to ask her why she thought that.
She stated how much I changed her life, and why am I not sharing my gift. Why am I not helping more people?
What a great question. What is it? Why do I not share? It comes so naturally to me. I can see people as they could be if only, they believe in themselves. Too darn many women do not see their greatness. They undervalue, undercharge, and don’t think they are worthy for people to pay for your services.
She believes the Universe is mad at me. Why? I don’t share my gift with others and the Universe believes it's wasted talent. Could be right, could be wrong. I know everyone has a unique talent and it's up to them to share. It's up to them to step into the gift they have been given and be serious about it. Take yourself seriously and stop getting stuck in the BS. Stop being average when you can be extraordinary. Stop accepting crackers and cheese (see my opined TIKTOK post to see what I mean.)
Your time to become the women you are capable is NOW. Time to Find Your Blue Rose.
Patterns may be getting in your way.
I fear too many women want to be seen while fear being seen. This dichotomy creates chaos in many ways. It rules people's lives, and most don’t know it. Heck, it took me years to see the pattern I was running. Do coaching, someone comments, I stop advertising. When someone says they listened to my podcast I would stop for a few weeks. Then reengage. It has wreaked havoc in my life both professionally and in business.
Many women over 50 spent their lives being told to be seen but not heard. Conversely, as they age they want to be seen and heard. Often, they get caught in feeling empowered and fear of being seen. Being seen does mean different things to different people. For me, it meant getting yelled at for ‘being a showoff.’ That’s how my mother viewed it. My dad on the other hand thought it was pretty cool.
This fear has held me back in so many ways it pains me to think about it.
Can you relate? What patterns do you have wrapped around being seen?

Energy is an integral part of the healing process.
Energy is an integral part of people’s healing process. Yet few understand entirely how it works. Everyone hears Energy flows where attention goes. Tony Robbins talks about when you have clear goals in mind and people focus there. They will vibrate at a higher level. There is truth to that statement.
However, energy does become stuck within people, which causes health problems. Or people develop the inability to move forward in a particular area of their life. (Also called Stuck on a hamster wheel).
I'm my Coaching business; I see too many women who don’t know why. For instance, I coached a woman who had panic attacks. She had had them since she could remember from her childhood. She is in the corporate world and doesn’t work well. Yet she believes, and because she believed, she made it true; it was holding her back.
The whole story is in the podcast, but the short version was that she saw a puppy hit by a car, she could not help it, felt helpless, and interpreted it to mean there were areas in her life she could not control. When she felt helpless or out of control, panic attacks happened.
After going through my Blue Rose Confidence program, she was able to heal the memory and, therefore, her panic attacks. Memories can inform people or hinder people.
The good news? Memories can be changed to support and empower, not hold back from your greatness.
Importance of Healing Your Energy
Vulnerability ALERT - the importance of Energy Healing
Spending the majority of time in masculine energy instead feminine. I know, I know I coach high earners and expect them to open up. However, I believe it’s time to start addressing, on a deeper level, issues women over 55 faces on a daily basis.
As an energy healer, I understand the role energy plays in our life. Oddly I never realized I spent a considerable amount of time in masculine energy on steroids. In my day job, I leaned more to the take no prisoner, no collaboration, I got this, know it all, and the list goes on. Which is odd because I am a softy within. However, my father was a ‘guys guy’ who have 1 boy and two girls. Both girls grew up as tomboys. I was never good at school, and I know that was a major disappointment to him. More about that in a different podcast.
I realized by living in the masculine I am blocking creating, listening, being, passive, and intuition. Spent way too much time doing, and producing. Task-oriented, competition, talking, intellect, and sadly forcing.
This explains why I don’t manifest as much or as often because I focus on forcing the issue instead of letting it happen. I was blocking my energy, my spiritual connection, and never realized it.
Time to step onto the path and clear the energy. First, clear my blocks using Reiki (I’m a Reiki Master), be grateful for everything, love myself with no regrets, and ignite my possibilities.
What keeps you stuck in place?
Does your money mindset hold you back? Too many women have a malfunctioning financial thermostat. What exactly is this? The self-belief that you can only earn xxx amount of money. For instance, a business owner holds a belief that in order to make $500,000 people must work 16 hours a day 7 days a week. This person doesn’t have any desire to work 16 hours a day so they will never make more than $200,000.
Another person could never seem to break the $75,000 line. Every time she would get close something would happen. Pay raise delayed, she went for a title instead of, and finally changed jobs. She could never understand how her friends made more than her, yet she worked harder than most. After some discussion she realized that no one in her family ever made more than $75,000-80,000.
After some coaching she was able to reset her thermostat to $200,000 just to start. How? To change 1) understand what the number represents 2) where did it come from family? relatives? friends? TV show etc. 3) how she defined work and 4) her value system.
Work is however you define it. What working hard may meant to you could mean something completely different to someone else. Or you can thing $300,000 is a ton of money yet your best friend thinks $3 million is a lot of money. Money is the exchange of energy from one person to another.
Believe that money is unlimited, and it will be. Conversely believe it is hard to earn and keep and that will play out as truth.
What is your financial thermostat? Look at your income over the past 5 years and there is your answer.

ReIgnite Your Possibilities
Are you ready to move away from the victim mindset? Too many women find comfort in victimhood. Now I know saying ‘find comfort is a trigger from some of you. However, staying stuck in the past as a victim will not help ladies go where they deeply desire to be.
It's hard to put the past back in the past but there are tools and techniques to learn Being stuff in victimhood holds people back from going all-in on their dreams. They believe they can’t achieve their magnificent vision, so they continue to play small. Playing small really serves no one. When in fact that creates an even larger victim footprint.
Instead commenting to that childhood victim and healing her is the path to take Regardless of how painful that road may be.
I have spent years healing my past and yet the victim still shows up uninvited. Also, with her negative self-talk about what a loser I am. I've had to learn how to ignore that voice and instead go to the voice that tells me I'm amazing. How wonderful I am. Yes, it's my subconscious and I've had to work hard to train that talk but I did. Yet it still dips into the negative on occasion. #Subconciousisreal
One of the first steps in learning to quickly close off that negative self-talk. This takes commitment, patience, and a strong desire to reclaim your power. When my clients decide it's time to own their power it's because they understand the power of the subconscious and the past.
Reigniting a new story that better supports the person you want to be, rather than the person you are is a wonderful, scary, fulfilling, hard yet joyful journey.
Reclaim your power and Reawaken to your Possibilities.
How to Succeed in Business
There are three keys to building a successful business. Consistency, Discipline, and a Burning Desire. Without these key elements, it can be a challenge. Consistency means meeting your commitments to your customer and yourself.
If you have a podcast and you commit to a weekly broadcast then you have to train yourself to meet that goal. If you have a weekly show in your Facebook group you have to keep that commitment. When you don't then that negative' voice starts talking. After one or two flubs it's easy to just keep saying, it's just who I am to never complete the task, be successful I'm just a loser. When that voice kicks on most times it wins. So be CONSISTENT and you'll win.
Discipline is doing things that you don't want to do at that moment in time. It's having a plan and taking action on that plan. When you add discipline to the mix success will happen.
Finally, your burning desire to achieve your goals must be what propels your forward. You need to know how the end game looks and keep moving forward towards that goal. When you add these three driving forces to your tool chest success will be yours. Ready? It's time to take your Confidence to the Next Level and Find Your Blue Rose. If you need some tips check out https://karenbarno.com/vip-confidence-coaching/
When following these 3 keys to building a successful business you know what you desire and how success looks achieving your goal becomes easier to achieve. These are key elements that are like baking a cake. If you leave out one of the ingredients the cake stinks. But if you put in all the key ingredients and you do it with love success will follow you.

How you view it determines your inner power.
Many years ago when I was in the US Air Force as a medic I learned a lesson that ‘stuck’ to me. Working in the ICU one evening a general’s wife was brought into the unit. She had no reason to be there other than, in my opinion, to hide her. She was severely dehydrated, had sores all over her body and fecal matter impacted in her skin, and weighed 98 pounds.
She was an alcoholic. No judgment here. But her husband would make fun of her (she told us that while healing) and his poker buddies would throw things at her while she lay on the couch. Of course, at the ripe age of 20, I was indeed judgmental and thought why don’t you stand up to him. Yup, naïve as well.
Then I got mad. I went to our charge nurse, who was a full bird colonel, one step from becoming a general, and asked him to do something. His response was what??? The general outranked probable all but one person on the whole base. I was shocked. Disappointed but the way the General would parade around demanding to be waited on. He eventually took his wife home and life went on.
BUT it haunted me. During that episode, I learned ‘Rank has Privileged.’ Didn’t matter how powerful you thought you were, or are, there is always someone more powerful. If you have trauma in your life, as I do, I walked away with people with authority who can do whatever they want.
Until recently I had a lifelong battle with authority and power. An interesting combination when you consider I am a CEO. If someone talked aggressively (at least how I defined aggression) I would fold like a cheap suit.
I had to reconnect to that memory, recreate a new version with an empowered ending, and reclaim power as I chose to define it.
It continues to amaze me how an event in our lives will be carried for a lifetime. That if left unhealed, I would never have the confidence I have. The life I have. The Business I have.
When you seem stuck and have no idea why…look backward to propel yourself forward.
Mind your business
What people think about you is none of your business. Way too many of us worry about what others say think or act towards us. It took me years to understand it's not my business.
Caring about what others think about me bothers me and in turn, undermines my mindset. When you worry about what others are thinking it erodes your confidence.
Make you hesitate from moving forward with your dreams. The reason why it's truly none of your business is you can not control another view of their world. And your role in that world.
Each person has a worldview filled with beliefs, judgments, and prejudices. One person may view you in one light while another in a totally different way. I know this sounds offbeat, nonsensical, but flipping your thinking to support you is the key to personal happiness...and success,
The secret to a happy and fulfilling life.
Far too many women are waiting for permission before they move forward. Especially women over 55. You found over the course of your life following the rules had a much better, kinder impact than not. Throughout school, people placed a lot of expectations on you. As you got older you were stuck.
You had spent your whole life making others happy. Doing whatever you need to do for everyone around you be happy. If there is any trauma in your life, asking for permission is on overdrive. It’s how you have earned to survive. Asking for permission.
If you’re like me, you are shaking your head saying nope not me. I thought the same thing. Then I thought of all my coaching clients and thought about the different ways they Ask Permission? I heard phrases like, I'm too old for this, right? Why won’t anyone help me? What will _____ think about me or my idea? My friend won’t accept me. It’s too hard.
Does this sound familiar? If so, Stop Asking for permission from an outside source. Start trusting yourself. Know that you are an extremely capable woman. Be fearlessly confident and step into the person you were meant to be.
Start living your best life, now.
Reach Your Full Potential and Success will be Yours.
Welcome to #73 Next Level Confidence Podcast
These two words could determine your success or failure. What? Self-Belief. It's how you perceive yourself and the interconnected world around you. Self-belief is the mindset that no matter what happens, you will prevail.
I had a strong belief from childhood that I would prevail. Through the abuse, trauma, motorcycle accident, closed head injury, homeless to CEO of an organization. I knew all would be well. When I was six years old, I explained to my mother that I would be moving out west at 18. And I did.
I barely made it out of high school, so my parents passed on paying for college. Based on the information they had, they were right. But they never saw my soul. I joined the US Air Force and received the GI Bill. Full ride to college. I knew I could do it.
Stop waiting for others to validate you, to tell you that you’re smart enough or good enough. Know in your heart, in your soul. I picture the bandshell in my hometown and hosting a workshop about the five steps to Next Level Confidence and discussing my book, a #1 bestseller, teaching women that with confidence and self-belief, they are unstoppable.
SELF BELIEF. With it, you will have Next Level Confidence. You will own your world. Without it, well, look around. What do you think?
Stop standing in the way of your success.
Reach your potential and bring your dreams to life.

Does your story support or hold you back?
The stories from our past can either support us or hinder us. Women far too often get lost, stuck in the negative part of their story. Perhaps she has had many successes, but that one situation or trauma dominates her memory. Instead of a great empowered story she had developed, she always talks about that bad outcome.
I can relate. Even though I was abused as a child, I didn’t get stuck there. I went on to have many successes except for a bad accident and a huge hospital bill. The hospital bill plus my boss at Radio Shack stealing my page check created a big hole in my finances. Then between the depression and drinking, I ended up losing everything. I found myself homeless.
Fast forward many years later, I am a CEO who helped start and grow assisted living in Arizona. Do I tell the story of starting a new industry? The ups and downs lobbying locally and in DC, raising money, traveling the state building a network, becoming the voice of assisted living?
Nope, I fixed on the fact that I was homeless. That was the story I told myself. Not that I was resilient as heck to overcome that and achieve other things. Nope, that I was homeless.
Over the years, I learned to reconnect to this core story, recreate it, and reclaim my power. The story I now tell is one the Everything is Overcomeable.
I have coached over a hundred women 1:1, and we always start with the story they tell themselves. Once we heal that story, their confidence goes to the next level!

Be Ready to Take Action
Do you want to make a change in your life, but find yourself hesitant and unsure of what steps to take? Learn how to recognize the signs when an opportunity presents itself.
Opportunity will knock on your door once. If you choose not to open the door or pass thinking it will return, it will not. Opportunity sometimes knocks so softly you hear it as a whisper or see it in a dream. Or times, it’s a scream. Or a bad outcome. Regardless of how it shows up, please do not ignore it. Trust that the Universe will always align in your favor if you show you are ready. When ready, it’s like the universe conspires to help you achieve your goals.
Ask, and you shall receive, however, the key is… you must believe.
Words have power.
Text
Words have power. Words spoken whether out loud or to yourself have power. The spoken voice has an energy, a vibration, that moves into the universe. This vibration signals the Universe on what to deliver to people. Positive vibration is like a charge on a battery. Positive gives positive back and negative gives negative. It’s a law of nature and therefore will play out the same each time.
If people are speaking negative words, words that disempower the result is negative in return. Negative comments can be seemingly trivial as I always make stupid mistakes. What you’re telling the Universe is to bring on more stupid. Or everything I eat turns to fat…guess what? That’s right you start gaining and/or holding onto your current weight regardless of how hard you try. Remember words spoken put action into motion.
Have you wondered why some people seem to have it all? While others don’t. You can put two people next to one another and the more positive will see great things flow into their lives. Positive people have learned how to manage the power of the Universe. Positive vibrations are located in the ‘in-between.’ What’s the in-between? It’s the thin layer in the universe where things are able to pass back and forth.
Take time and listen to how they talk. Positive people typically receive positive in return. If you don’t like what you are receiving…listen to how you talk within and to other people. Begin to monitor how you speak. What words do you use, how is your energy, are you happier. Or the opposite.
Hey if you are looking for advice or guidance let’s talk. When you lift up your vocabulary your life up your life and accomplish your dreams.
Take Back Your Personal Power
Stop blaming others for your life. Your failures or foibles. Taking back your personal power starts with accepting you. Understanding who you are deep with, at your soul’s level. Frequent visits to your past, evaluating and trying to understand, just keep you stuck there. Keeps you looking backward instead of forward. Sometimes the reasons for the past are not for people to see, until a different time and place.
Looking back keeps from seeing the path laid out for them to walk. Release the past is accomplished by stopping to blamer others. Accept that God, spirit, the Universe, placed you in that situation for a reason. It will be revealed when you are prepared to hear or see it. Stop giving your power away to others around you. Stop allowing them to be a piece of your inner work. Cut the cord. Walk your path! The path laid out for you. But until that time believe in yourself.
Once people accept that greatness is locked within their soul, they will know their only purpose is to find the key.
Unlock the door fearlessly, have the faith and courage to walk in and BE YOU.
Know Thyself
Who am I, Now? Take time to know whyself.
Setting down to do my yearly goal setting January 3 as I do every year. The first question is ask is who am I. I learned well rather admitted to myself I hate sharing personal info. I will share about trauma, overcoming obstacles, and raging failures but there are other areas that will not.
In my day job, I do extremely well. But in my side hustle, I never seem to gain traction. Now I’m an extremely confident woman so WTF. Why am I holding myself? I kept asking myself that question over and over until I had a vision.
The vision was of me sitting on an island. Alone. Pacing. Pacing back and other. Because on the other island was a large group of people having a blast. Celebrating, toasting each other, laughing, and complete joy. Occasionally they would look over at me and wave me over Screaming come on, come over.
But I can’t. Why? There is a rope bridge that I must cross. The bridge is unstable over shark-infested water. Yup, I was letting fear win. My goal, my desire was not bigger than my fear.
I also realized I wasn’t being truthful with my folks. However, I want them to tell me their issues, their weakness while I wasn’t sharing. I wasn’t showing up in a way that I demand of myself.
In 2022 I am committing I will show up I a major way. I will show you my success along with my failures. Where I fall down but I promise I will always get back up. And if you fall, I will help YOU GET BACK up and keep moving forward. My commitment to you is that if you do the work, I will do my best to help you get to where you desire.
Let’s cross the bridge together.
Your Burning Desire!
It is very hard to get up at 4:30 am to exercise, work on your book, coach an overseas client or just start your day. If you don’t know your reason for accomplishing all you want to accomplish it most likely will not happen. It’s so important to know what your fall on the sword moment is. The place your mind goes to motivate you when you are exhausted, hungry and just done with it. When you have your reason, it is easier to flip that mental switch. The switch that will help you keep going.
People say successful people are different. Sure, they are made different because they discovered the importance of knowing their reason. Why. What does the end game look like for them? Successful people have this burning desire. They MUST accomplish their dreams. They are able to push themselves because they see the finish line. Now that line maybe is 50, 60, 80 years down the line but they know exactly what it looks like for them.
Most likely they have their goals are written down, affirmations at the ready. They can tell you to the smallest of detail what the end game looks like, smells like, who will be with them. They know because that is what fuels them. Drives them to keep going.
It is harder than it looks to post in 5 different places, do videos across different platforms, launch programs, converse with the team and customers, attend meetings into the late evening, tape podcasts, and the list goes on. But they do it. Why? Ask them. But be prepared for the very specific answer.
The obvious next question is What is Your Burning Desire?
If you are interested in developing your Next Level Confidence check out my 90-day coaching program.
Will Come Back at You
Judging other people’s looks, actions, money, how they talk, and weight is a human issue. No other animal on the planet judges others like humans. Unfortunately, too many were judged as children and carried that forward.
There is one negative, actually, a very negative outcome from judging others harshly. What you see in others that you dislike is contained within you. It’s a Universal law that what you see in others is a reflection if you see something you don’t like –within you. So when you see something in someone else you wish you had, guess what, you do!
Using the Judging technique is an excellent method to use when looking to make transformations in your life. Areas you may be stuck, blocked, or looking for Shadows hidden within. It is always Clue Alert when you have an adverse reaction to outside stimuli. Take the time and ask why you dislike that trait. What is the response you have to it, and how did it make you feel? Was it a visceral reaction?
Sit with the emotion and look back at when you experienced that same emotion when you had the same outcome. Once you can see the story, the next step begins. Tell yourself a different story. A story that supports and empowers you versus one that makes you feel less than and playing small. The name of transformation is reprogramming your mind by recreating a new, better, more supportive story.
Once you learn to use Judging as a way to help move you forward, you win the inner game.
Does this make sense?

Here (Paragraph)
Find Yourself playing a smaller game?
There are too many people who fear being seen. This usually developed from highly critical parents or someone in your life as a child. It didn't matter what you did it was either never good enough or you would never be a success as ??????. So you decided, why try or you bought into never being successful enough, when you get to that point, you quit.
Stop. Or they can be the Center of Attention but only so far. I know this may not make sense. Maybe you have some great accomplishments yet you tell no one. Or when you start to have success whether financial, growth, etc you stop when it gets to a certain point.
For example - you sign up 5 new clients for your online course or sell your product to 3 new clients then you shut down. If you take a few minutes and look back you may see a pattern develop that when you get to a certain level you pull back.
ReAwaken Your Powerful Self
Text Here (Paragraph)
Confidence is a moving target. One day you are the most confident woman you know and the next day you're hiding. You just don't know how to flip the switch to be confident in all areas of your life. There are three steps that if you take them and follow the map you will learn how to unlock your confidence in 5 seconds.
The first step is to reconnect within and learn what stops you. What negative self-talk or memory prevents you from stepping forward. These bumps, bruises, limiting beliefs, or whatever you call them are preventing you from your calling. From raising your hands and saying it's my turn.
The next step is to Recreate the stories that hold you stuck in the mud. Your mind is like a whiteboard. what you put into it can be erased and a new story put in its place. These new stories will support and encourage you to be your best self.
Finally, Reclaim YOU! After discovering who you are and what you truly desire, going after your dreams will prove to be a much easier pathway. Once you have clarity and the courage to be you ALL THE TIME, stepping into that person will be easy.
Once you know WHY, and Heal the Blocks, Finding Your Blue Rose, your true calling will be life-changing. The real question is...are you ready to be the best version of yourself? Let me know.

Stop looking backwards
Confidence trapped is a far too common phenomenon. Way too many people get stuck in a moment when their life is shining bright. Score the winning touchdown. Or the winning basket. Conversely, just surviving. Within a short period of waking up, your mind goes to a negative moment in your life. A trauma, bad break up, losing a loved one during COVID.
Each month, week, day, maybe an hour, you make a plan. A plan to get unstuck and follow your destiny. Almost once that thought passes, thought of no way comes into your head. But what if you could re-write your Story?
Reconnect to your inner self. Find the origin of the Story you have on repeat. Listen and understand what the message from the universe is saying. Listen. Your Soul does call out to you, begging you to reconnect at the most basic level. Your Soul is inviting you to Recreate your past Story. Develop a story that empowered you to walk with your head high, shoulder pulled back, wearing the fantastic look dress with matching shoes. See yourself owning each room you enter.
Reclaim your Power. Reclaim that who you were are birth. Step into your authentic power with your head held high—no need to slouch. You are a magnificent woman with fierce confidence.
Confidence Reclaimed! that is what you say every morning and night. You know who you are, what you want, and are ready to go 100% all-in on YOU!
Your Story of Transformation
Joseph Campbell, while studying Greek mythology, found a constant theme. An overarching theme that makes the story more compelling. Once you learn the steps, it can make reading a book or watching a movie challenge. Why? You will understand the framework of the steps on the journey. Happy Potter, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings were masters at employing this framework.
My online course Confidence REclaimed as developed on that exact theme. Transformation does not begin until called into action and your journey begins. Something happens that pushes people to do something. On the journey is a guide helping move them forward. Change is hard, and everyone needs a nudge every so often to keep moving.
When healing Spiritual Shadows, the journey there are always traps. The bad news is there are a few abysses that appear. The good news is on the other side is true transformation. True change. Are you ready to step into the person you are meant to be?

From a Fearless Novice
I learned so many lessons podcasting it would take forever to review. I was a novice podcaster. Filler with confidence, but that was it. I have no idea how any of it worked, but I listened to many podcasts and stayed at a Holiday Inn.
Seriously one of my most favorite sayings is ‘How hard can it be?’ That also gets me in trouble sometimes. Yet, I do usually figure it out.
In this podcast, we talk about all I learned, the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. For instance, the importance of making sure the date you post is not 1997. You have the correct podcast episode number. Oh, did I mention I am more of a big picture person? Details are not my jam, and I learned that the hard way. I went from Episode 40 to episode 55. I to fix that.
The pros have fancy intro and music. That is doable, except I do my work…YIKES. When you do an interview not a good idea to talk for 65 min. Especially when just catching up.
The most important lesson I learned, you ask. Just start. Nothing will ever be perfect unless you have a team curating your work. The Ed Mylett Show, I’m sure when he started, was not even close to how it is now. As their podcast grew, the team got bigger and more professional. (Although I don’t like ads in a podcast.)
If you are thinking of launching a podcast, heck business, or anything to quote Nike, Just do IT!
The Universe Reacts
We hear it all the time. People saying What you think about you will bring about. And that is a universal fact. A lesser-known, but I think more impactful, are the words put into action will deliver a reaction.
What you say aloud is alerting the Universe that you are in need, and it must jump into action. And as you may know when you say something like I don’t want to be late. The Universe doesn’t hear the word ‘don’t’ it hears I want to be late. The Universe never learned the human form of saying a negative word couched as it’s a positive. It hears that statement as you want it and wants it now.
If you are rolling your eyes thinking, Geez, how DO I manifest the answer is more straightforward than it appears. Don’t say negative words or phrases or add a NOT to a part of a word. Like? Wouldn’t, didn’t, don’t, well you get the point.
If you say a negative, quickly state two positives to override the negative. Is it possible to override a negative statement? Absolutely. But you must be diligent in always doing two positives for every one negative. It takes discipline, but it is worth the extra effort.
Give it a try for a week. Then come back and let me know what you think.
Making real change within
When people transform their lives it must involves shadow work at some point in time. Until people get to the root of the issue holding them back makes it is very hard to heal. These Shadows are repressed parts of your personality that others rejected. This rejection settled in your Soul and has remained hidden until you made the decision to seek it out.
Contained within this Shadow is Your Gift. Many times it's your purpose in this world. Your reason for being. When you heal them you no longer are confused or 'unfocused' you have clarity and the courage to move forward.
Everyone wants confidence. A direction to seek in their life. Start the journey within and seek the answers to the questions that bounce around in your head. You know the questions. The WHY ________ question you have. The Why did this happen or that happened?
Then the day comes when you know like you know WHO you are and WHY. Are you Ready?
Choose to Own Your Power!
It has always been your choice. You choose what you desire they say. Ask the Universe, visualize it happening, stay positive, and it will appear.
When I first heard this, I thought it was a bunch of BS. Who would choose any form of trauma in their life? Choose to be poor, abuse, left alone to fend for themselves, discarded, live in a war-torn country where women are preyed upon. Who would choose that? We do. It’s all part of our human experience.
Once I was able to make peace with ‘It’s a Choice,’ my life changed. When people decide to make, change things will begin to shift.
The Universe will shine a light on the path for you to follow. The challenge is believing and trusting that it can be that easy. Trusting that the Universe is here to support all your efforts. Sadly, as humans, people find it hard to believe it’s just that easy.
I know it did. I fought and pushed back when good appeared and embraced bad. Bad outcomes became a friend that I recognized. Actually, I would subconsciously seek negative outcomes out. I did not understand that there were Shadows buried and potential buried within these Shadows.
Then I understood.
Like Glinda the Good Witch said in the Wizard of Oz, YOU HAVE THE POWER ALL ALONG, MY DEAR.
It’s Your Choice!
Her calling was Greater than she knew.
I think everyone on this planet know the Simone Bile sat out most of the Olympics with mental health issues. As the Goat in the world of Gymnastics she could have remained silence, but she chose not to. Courageous decision. She could have muscled through to make everyone happy.
Instead, she used her large platform to discuss mental health issues. Simone has a much larger PURPOSE, she discussed the sexual abuse she endured as a gymnast on the USA Olympics Team. When she arrived in Japan, she was clear that as the lone voice left on the team, she felt obligated to make sure the USA Olympics didn’t convenient forget. That was her overarching Momentous goal.
You see, when you tell your mind what your gargantuan goal is, your mind gets to work immediately to figure out how to make that happen. I'm sure that is not where the twisties came from, but I truly believe she had this amazing platform, so the Mind thinks… let’s get started, NOW.
As a bonus, Simone sitting out propelled the other gymnast on the USA Team to step into the spotlight. Each one of them won medals including the all-around team event. (It’s awesome that two of them are from the East Valley in Phoenix.)
When you have a momentous overarching goal and direct your mind, your mind will get to work and make it happen. That is exactly why it’s important to know what you want moving forward so your mind can make it happen.
Thank you Simone for being the GOAT and most important a WORLD CHANGER.
Blue Rose System for Shadow Work
How often do you notice the confidence person FIRST? I think everyone notices confident people first and are drawn to them. Why? People they enter a room. Not walk into a room but enter with style. People walk over to them for conversation not the opposite way. It seems like they attract everything and anything into their life.
Why, oh why are they so lucky? Trust me luck has nothing to do with it. They have done the work. They have learned who they are and did a deep dive into what motivates them. What blocks were holding them in place?
Doing the work today, means a life well lived in the future. When people take the time to heal their past, the patterns they run, and find out WHY they do what they do, life will open to them, and YOU. Understanding the WHY is the key to moving forward. The key to having the life, business, love in your life, starting today.
If you are ready to start building the life you dream about and become unstoppable, let's go. It's time to Find your Blue Rose.
Spent years Trying to answer this Question.
I have spent years trying to understand my visceral reaction to religion. I was 100% there with a higher power, but organized religion was a struggle. I have no idea why. When to church each Sunday, Sunday school, communion, confirmation, etc., but still was repelled by it.
I spent my life trying to understand the various religions and Gods of those religions. What I found was all, but one had created a system. If you do steps 1,2,3 etc., you will be loved. For God it was, I will love you regardless.
I could embrace that for sure. It has been and will continue to be a journey. But what I know to be true is there is a powerful force that guides the Universe. Those who understand this force can draw success and love into their life. And let’s be honest here, who doesn’t want that?
Here’s to you Finding Your Blue Rose!
Successful people and the G.O.O.D. Method
How you ever wondered how two brothers or sisters from the same family are no equals in say sports? Serena vs Venus. Stephen Curry or Seth Curry?
Let’s take Stephen and Seth Curry. They are both professional I think they are close to the same size and body type. Yet one, Stephen, is a multiple World Champion and future Hall of Famer and can shoot from anywhere on the court.
Seth is more of a journey man role player. He fills a specific need of a team. Stephen is the leader of the team and role model for the NBA and little boys and girls dreaming of playing in the NBA one day.
Why? They had the same childhood. Same NBA Dad and athletic Mom. So, what made the difference? One Word…MINDSET
I believe the superstar family member follow the G.O.O.D. What is that method? G=GOAL to be great, O= no OTHER Option, O = Know your OUTCOME and D = Dogged DETERMINATION.
If you follow this method, you will get there. Remember, you MUST believe in your Goal, eliminate any escape route, can see your outcome CLEARLY and be Never quit.
Take Charge.
You are the co-creator of your life. You and God. Together you bring into your life all you think you deserve. When I first heard this, I thought no way. I desire more, I dream of more, I visualize more, so I could not have co-created this.
I looked around. My kitchen is over 20 years old, Car older but looks excellent, and I love my job. Then I thought, wait, Karen, would you still love everything if someone handed you $1 million. It was at that minute that I realized I was blame-shifting.
You know what I mean. I hear all the time from clients they have tried everything. Still, the economy’s soft, it’s COVID, they are not paid what they're worth, business isn’t getting traction, spend all the money on the children, single mother, or the favorite ‘what do you expect I try and visualize, but nothing works out for me. It’s just my life.’ That is a favorite.
Shift your thinking and shift your life. You and only you are responsible for what you have created. Write down how you want your life to look in the tiniest of details. Draw, clip picture what every it takes to keep you focus on what you want to co-create.
No more excuses. You’re in charge of yourself. Follow your dream.

What is Your Truth ?
Everyone has Shadows. Shadows are blurry blocks that hold them back from who they were born to be. These are the repressed pieces of our soul that others didn't accept back when you were 4, 5, 10, 15 etc. You didn't have the toolkit to disregard what they said you instead internalized the comments.
Then, they become real. A part of who you are, right or wrong. When people begin to search for what is holding them stuck these Childhood Shadow Imprints will show up. Healing the major ones is hard, can be the dark night of the soul kind of moment BUT is it worth it? Heck yes. Stepping into your true birth purpose makes all the tears worth it
Reclaim Your Inner Fire.
Take time to think and ponder. Breathe. Then do you.
If you're like me, when I first heard that line it made me stop. Think. What does that mean just do me? Aren't I always myself? Aren't I always living in my happy zone? The many times I heard that sentence I had the same thought, then moved on.
Until, the day it stopped me dead in my track. The day I realized I was not happy. Not totally Joyful. And for years that was fine. Until I realized I settled for believing I had it better than most. Now whether that is true or not, who knows. But I know I was done sleep walking through my life. Pretending all was well.
I spent the next three years doing a deep dive into my soul. You know the kind. You may recognize it by a different name, the Dark Night of the Soul. It was time for me to go within and do some deep healing. Look at what Childhood Shadow Imprints were standing in my way. How was I allowing other people's voices to live in my head? The voice of my mother telling me I would always be fat, my father telling me to be the best ditch digger there was, another teacher telling me I'll never be as smart as my sister, and another teacher told me I lived in a fantasy world.
Over the years, I have heard most of the childhood Shadow Imprints, but a few continue to come front and center. I know this sounds crazy, but I oud prefer it no other way. Why? Each time I heal a Shadow, my life up levels. My joy increased, and my confidence soars.
You see, when you heal your shadow, you take back charge of your life and become the most powerful women you know. You are even more unstoppable. Soon you know, you are100%, sure you can own the world and all your dreams.

Women of a certain age were strongly encouraged to be seen and not heard. Make a scene was out of the question. They married the ‘right’ guy, had children, and walked through life like a Zombie. They were climbing the corporate ladder attempting to find their place.
Some we lucky to meet a mentor, but most had to find their way. They turned 50 and realized they had much to bring to the table. So many talents. Then something else happened.
They found their voice. Learned if that speaking quietly, like a lady, was no longer cutting it for them. They discovered their voice. And the absolute power of ‘making a scene.’
There are times when making a scene is the only way to be heard. There are nice ways to do it and hard-charging ways as well. When making a scene, you’re taking back your power while speaking your mind and being heard. There’s no longer a need to be a ‘good girl or a people pleaser. There is only the need to be true to YOU.
When was the last time you made a scene?
Get all you secretly desire!
arl Jung was the first to discuss Shadows and their impact on your life and success. He taught that Shadows are repressed parts of your souls that often determine your success or failure. How do Shadows start? These were parts of your personality that others decided were unacceptable by someone around you.
You did all you could do by burying it within, hiding it as deep as you could, and commit to never think about the episode again. Tucked away, you went on with your life. Kept moving forward, starting your business, or gather one promotion after another.
So what the big deal?
You walk through life feeling like a part of you is missing. Why? Your inner self knows there are Shadows buried away. But your EGO resists and does all it can to distract you from looking.
Finding Shadows can be a challenge. However, typically their gift of greatness is often hidden in their Shadows.
It makes you want to start your Shadow Journey. Right?
Heal Your Shadow - Find Your Purpose!
What is Your Unique Calling?
Each of you has a unique calling. A specific calling. A Blue Rose to share with the world. Yet many spend their life seeking the purpose even when the answers are in front of them. The Universe will 'speak' in the form of a divine download.
These downloads may come during a lucid dream, a tiny voice, an idea that pops in your head, or who knows. The Universe will find a way to communicate with you in a way you and only you will recognize.
Yet you can hear the idea (thought), feel it with all your heart, but you must take action.
Go all in finding your Blue Rose. A Blue rose is impossible to create in nature. The meaning of a Blue Rose is a new beginning, a source of enlightenment, and a sense of direction. Heck, on the Game of Throne, a Blue Rose was given to Daenerys (mother of the dragons) as encouragement, and she started her journey to become a queen.
Ready to get started in your new beginning? Ask the Universe for help, then LISTEN.
Heal the Shadow of Shame
For many women over 50, Shame can be a part of their inner core. Since childhood, they have watch women be treated poorly or less than on TV, and this type of behavior became part of their subconscious. Learn how to let go of shame.
Living with Shame creates illness, self-sabotaging behaviors, and self-loathing, leaving women open for even more emotional challenges and limiting beliefs. Limiting beliefs are the key source of what holds you back from being the woman you know you can be.
Healing the Shadow of Shame will help you be able to live a more confident life. Once you realized that there is no reason to be ashamed. You lived the life you did, and now it's time to let it go, finally.
Give yourself the grace to forgive and the courage to love yourself.
Understand Your Why
As Humans, we must understand WHY things happen. But more important is the energy behind that why. This is an energetic universe. Your energy level determines how and what you are manifesting and attracting.
I did a deep dive over the past years on who I thought I was and who I actually was. I decided I was not a part of my fan club. But the person I was in April 2019 and the person I am in April 2021 are radically different.
I truly feel unstoppable. I am clear and laser-focused on what I want to accomplish over this year. This is what happens when you begin to heal Shadows and listen within. Your energy will tell you if you are operating in a Shadow or not. Low energy, terrible self-talk, and feeling bad about yourself- SHADOW
Up, happy, filled with self-love-NO SHADOW.
When you ask Why and look at your energy, when it's positive, you tell the Universe you are ready for change, for positive change. Learn how to keep your energy high and make miracles happen.
I spoke a few weeks ago about healing your inner child. (Episode #42) There are three steps to learn how to talk with her and learn the new messages she may be carrying.
But first, let me explain a Spiritual Cleanse. A cleanse typically happens after you have spent time doing intense inner work. At least, that is the case for me. Once you complete the inner work, your body needs to eliminate the spiritual toxins left behind. The negative blocks and emotions that get stuck in your spiritual cords. (Let's talk about spiritual cord cleansing in a later podcast.) Once you can remove the negative blocks and replace them with positive energy, your life will change in ways you can't even begin to imagine.
Understand, Positive energy vibrates at a much higher frequency than negative energy. That's why when you're around someone who vibrates at a high frequency its lifts you up. You love being around these types of people.
The same is true, sadly, for people who vibrate at a much lower frequency. Their energy seeks out people who perceive themselves more as victims vibrating at the level of the victim. Narcissists vibrate a much lower frequency and demand higher vibrating people so they can feed off their energy. They replace their negative dark energy with others' higher, more bright energy until they diminish that person and look for new energy.
Keep your energy high and learn how to place a protection charm on yourself every morning.
What gets you up each morning?
Burning Desire. I first learned about this when I read Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich book. He talked about having a vision so powerful you'll move heaven and earth to achieve that goal.
When you live with a burning desire, all your waking hours are spent thinking about transforming that part of your life. Maybe you decide to start your own business. All your free time and focus are on that business because it is all about your purpose.
When you are not living in your burning desire, you may drag through your day. Trying to stay motivated or a least somewhat engaged on the project you are working on.
I have found that people who are making real money know precisely what lights them up. People with real happiness spend over 90% of their time following their purpose at Mach 5. It's hard for them to do anything else.
Finally, they know in their head exactly how their business and/or life will end. They see it every waking hour as if it already happened.
My question to you…Do you know what your Burning Desire is? Your must accomplish?
Clear Your Cellular Memory.
Trauma in one form or another enters into everyone's life. Whether the death of a parent at a young age, some form of abuse, bullying, or a sadly long list of trauma. Trauma does not disappear; instead caught in your cellular memory. Until people learn to heal their cellular memory, the abuse lingers. It is often hiding, unseen, almost unnoticed until it rears its dark cloud and starts causing havoc.
How can you tell? Drinking starts, grades go down, job instability, mood enhancement, or a basic yet powerful is the negative self-talk. Words have power, and the words people say to themselves have the most energy. Check out what Oprah says about the power of works. https://www.oprah.com/inspiration/what-oprah-knows-for-sure-about-the-power-of-words
Take the time to heal your inner child. Learn who they are, how they are thinking, and see the trauma through their lens. This is just one way to begin healing and developing an understanding of who you are at your core.

The Flip Flop CEO
Janine Finney, the Flip Flop CEO went from the biggest skeptic to greatest advocate about Network Marketing. She began her network marketing journey after her daughter talked her into it. Today it’s her goal to help people gain clarity about network marketing. Janine has built a successful network marketing business and published two books on the same topic.
Janine never misses an opportunity to re-educate people about Network Marketing. I say re-educating because a large percentage of women have dipped their toes into the waters at one time or another. That was the genesis behind writing a book with her daughter called The Flip Flop CEO.
There are so many rumors and misconceptions the Janine and her daughter decided they had to teach people what is true and false about Network Marketing. Along with the potential to make real money.

Learn how the Word Doc added Reiki Healing.
This week I have the privilege of interviewing Holly Matson, the Word Doctor and Animal Reiki. She's gifted with the written word. Holly was the editor of my book, the Blue Rose Bookstore, published a few years ago.
However, I did not know that she offers Animal Reiki as well.
Like most women, Holly spent the first few decades of her work career in more convenience vs. Not passion-filled. Especially women who are 55 and older. Women who graduated college in the late 1970's early '80s were caught in the recession, limiting their chances even more. The workforce was much different then as job opportunities were few. She followed her heart, and she started her own company as the Word Doctor.
(FYI- Women could not have a checking account in their name until 1976ish.)
Through her healing journey and overcoming past challenges, she had a Reiki attunement then met a spiritual teacher who helped guide her. As she read more about healing, Holly knew it was something she wanted to get involved in. She began to study energy healing, quantum touch, and Reiki in particular.
I asked if she believed she was 'guided' into energy work...her answer may surprise you. Holly did, however, asked the Universe for help, and the Universe answered her request. Ask and you shall receive.
Holly now offers Reiki Animal healing as well as being the Word Doctor.
Check Holly out on her website and Facebook:
Here's is her animal Reiki website www.lightseedsbyholly.com.

This is a non political podcast but more of an observation of how one person refused to accept failure. He could be a poster child for 'Everything is Overcomeable.'
President Biden has run for office so many times I lost count. But he never gave up on his dream. He was rock solid that he was born to be the President of the United States.
He lived through more loss than any one person should have to. He lost his first wife and young daughter in a car accident. Then his son some years later. This man understands trauma, yet he continued to run for office and keep chasing his dream.
He was DETERMINED to ACHIEVE the VISION he had cast for himself some 40 years earlier. You see, he understood that God's delays are not God's Denials. Plus, he understood the power of VISUALIZATION and the POWER of the MIND.
If you can CONCEIVE it, BELIEVE it, you can ACHIEVE it. I use to think this was all BS. My belief was people said it to get people to buy or follow them. That only the lucky few can achieve greatness. Now I plan to try it. I mean, go all-in on trying it using all the powers of my mind.
I will keep you updated. Follow my updates on my FB Group Possibilities Cafe.
Do you feel called to do more? But you can't figure out what that calling is? What keeps nudging at your soul? You can't see it. The mind creates blocks to keep things that caused you pain buried within. Each block works against you.
Creating a challenge each time you start to look. These block convinced you all is well, and it's just YOU that is the challenge. Not something someone else said or did to you in childhood. Yet that's exactly what causes the blocks. Trauma from the most common type of abuse are comments made by those around you.
Relatives, teachers, neighbors, who know who. It just takes an offhand comment that hurts and gets quickly buries away. When you discover these trauma wounds and heal them, things will shift for you.
Clarity and confidence that has alluded to you will help you shine bright.
Are you ready? Let's get started. Become Your Most Powerful Self.
held me back from Becoming My Most Powerful Self.
Hello, 2021, glad to finally meet you. There were times 2020 seemed so far away than other days right around the corner. 2020 was a rough yet introspective year.
I learn more about Shadows and how they can and will block people's progress. It doesn't matter what they're trying to accomplish if they seem to be on the perpetual hamster wheel, there's a block. Anytime people repeat the same behavior, there is a block hiding within.
In this podcast, I chat about discovering a Shadow that has held me back for darn close to 63 y/o. I never realized I had a shadow fearing 'rejection' and how people seemed to reject me if I was successful. As I became more successful throughout my life, I would be rejected by friends, co-workers, and at one time, my boss. (i know, hard to believe).
Give this podcast a listen and see if you have Shadow Blocks holding you back. If so, check out my new program, Become Your Most Powerful Self.
Promise yourself not t be in the same place next December 31. Learn what is keeping you stuck.
Stop the Struggle and Start to Thrive!
I think of success as an outcome. And to achieve your results, your Mindset must rise to meet your outcome. Yet, I find they usually do not. Because people use goals like a dream and then select unachievable (in their mind) plans, they want to achieve their dream, but they DO NOT believe they can.
I know nuts. But that is how the majority of people think.
Change their Mindset, and they will think differently. People will set goals and achieve them all day long because they have an empowered mindset.
A mindset they built for success. Like those top athletics, they work and work on their craft. Perfecting every step they take until it's locked into their mind, and they do it. Automatically.
That is when they cross over from normal average Josephine (for you men, an average Joe) to a high performer earning in the top 5%.
What's more important? Doing the work or having the Mindset? I will say until the day I die, or someone disproves my thesis, that Mindset can and will carry you over the finish line 9 out of 10 times. Hard work 50/50.
Agree?
Sabotaging Behavior.
Labels are used every day on food, products, commercials, and on people. The problem is your label or how you label yourself determines your success or failure in many situations. Self Labels and negative self-talk go hand in hand.
Sounds harsh, I know. That label can determine the self-talk you have within whether it will be positive or negative. For instance, you tell yourself you are fat. or out of shape and need to lose weight. But your inner mind hears and repeats your fat. (Weight loss is an excellent example of how labeling can define a person. However, any explanation would work your not smart. You don't deserve good things. The great jobs go to suck-ups, and you're not a suck-up.)
When women then venture out to try something new, go shopping, girls night out, a first date, the script she keeps running is the I'm fat, nothing fits, I look terrible, and the self-sabotaging begins. The inner self-talk is off to the races repeating ALL the negative things you have ever heard about weight. You then shrink, go back into the self-imposed cage, and remain stuck.
Check out this article that can better explain self-sabotaging behavior. https://www.healyourlife.com/tags/self-sabotage
This behavior can heal when you refuse to allow negative thinking to take up residence in your mind. Relisten to my podcast episode #26 Others peoples Opinion of You https://karenbarno.com/opinions-of-you/

Learned Helplessness is a mental health term used to describe people who repeat a pattern. What is Learned Helplessness? In psychology, it's a mental state in which a person is forced to bear painful or otherwise unpleasant stimuli. They become unable or unwilling to avoid subsequent encounters with those stimuli because it has learned that it cannot.
This behavior can appear in people who have been traumatized. Or have been beaten down. When the same action takes place later, they shut down. Most people don't realize they have the behavior.
Then a trigger occurs, and they completely shut down. They're stuck in the trauma memory. Helpless again.
The way to heal is to look within at the trauma and understand it happened to you, and YOU are not at fault. But this is a lesson for another day.
Recognize the signs of slipping into the victim mentality. When that happens, know how to 'shake it off.'
Plan, Prepare, Promote, and Prosper
4 P's for Success' FormulaAfter studying countless successful people through interviews or books, I learned they all have success patterns they follow religiously. All success leaves a clue. Most of them follow the 4 Ps of success.
First P is Planning. If you don't know what the end looks like, how will you recognize it when it arrives. Begin with the end in mind. Plan what success will look like to you. What will you be doing, who will you be with, how are your raving fans doing. Write it down and visualize it as if it's already has happened. Have as much detail that you can. Then start working backward, mapping out the path you plan to walk.
Understand that flying by your pants' seat may work in certain parts of your life, but not when starting a business. Not having a plan will eventually hold you back. Creating an online course required many moving parts that entrepreneurs use must plan for during their journey.
I never planned to do videos, build classes, or coach well, you get the picture. Until the day, I asked my audience what they wanted to study the next week, and I heard crickets. In the end, everyone didn't know what exactly what was my area of focus.
I was neither purposeful nor thoughtful. Please don't make the same mistake!
The next P is Prepare. Another area I was subpar during my first few years. I would kind of prepare but never as much as is needed to be successful. Learn to write down your scripts for videos. It doesn't need to be word for word but an outline to keep you on track.
Have an outline, a general idea, a complete roadmap, whatever works for you. Make sure you're ready for all potential outcomes.
The third P is to Promote. Promoting can be the most challenging part of the 4 P's and your journey in building your business. Many women have a challenge putting themselves out there and drawing attention to themselves. However, you can't sell without promotion, so they go hand in hand. We can work together to build your confidence in this area.
The final P is Prosper. When you prosper in making money, you know all the puzzle pieces are in their proper place. Making money tells you that the other P's are working. If you are not making money…let's talk.
Here's to the 4 Ps of SUCCESS in your life!!!
Energy Vampires is an often-used word to describe those who seem to drain energy. There are different energy vampires. Those who steal your energy for a bit and those who drain it entirely leave an empty shell behind.
The ones who drain a bit of energy are not vampires. Most do not realize they are drainers because they were just 'raised' needing power from another source. Unable to get the required 'refueling' from within, they seek it from another source. Once they learn the skills to manage their emotions and power, they'll discontinue the need to suck others' energy.
Energy Vampires, true Energy Vampires, suck all the energy from the victim's bones. Leaving battered and bruised people in their wake. Energy Vampires are like a ghost ship traveling alone, looking for their next victim.
An empty, unfulfilled, and sad person.
They look around, layout their net, find the perfect person, and then integrate themselves into that person's life. They become the most essential person in the office. Volunteering for extra work, arriving early, and staying late. Before their 'victim' knows it, they handle their calls while slowing degrading the people around them.
That is the first hint you have an energy vampire in your mist!
Hint two, They could teach a class in drama. Why? Nothing in their life goes well according to them. Their stories are funny and engaging and designed to reel you in as they increase the energy-sucking.
Eventually, their victims understand what is occurring, and the relationship ends. Typically not well.
When people make comments such as you could be sisters, you are so much alike, or comparing your both…run!
You have an Energy Vampire in your mist.
Questions? Ask away.
Here (Paragraph)
The Inner Game will decide your success or failure. How you view yourself, and your role in the world also works on your inner game. Standing in your power, or any women standing in their power, is a challenge. Why? Women were burned at the stake when they spoke up.
This alone gets locked into women's subconscious. Then they play small. Afraid to stand up for fear of repercussions, fear of getting hurt mentally and physically. However, if you ask the Universe for help, it will send you a sign. Your job is to figure it out.
You see, there is a force in the Universe that directs those who listen. I call it the Force of Possibilities. Many call it God, the Universe, Spirit, the In-between, or a host of other names. All that matters is people understand there is something out there guiding them.
When women admit what they deeply desire then work 100% to receive, it will happen. In this podcast, it tall about the teacup and Possibilities and how I missed the meaning. When it is time to 'hear' the message, the Universe will make it clear.
The challenge is believing what you hear and understand what you are to do.
When in doubt ask a friend.
Women in mid-life never fully see their potential. Always underestimating what their talents are while overestimating their weaknesses. I have my theory about why but that could be a podcast for another day. 😉
However, if you ask your friends, they will take 30 minutes to sing your praises. talking about all your accomplishments and minimizing areas you may be less gifted.
At a certain point, women begin to wonder What's Next. What business would best suit their skill set? What would be their perfect niche? What would make you the happiest while making money? If you are not sure ask a friend.
Each person has a special gift. One unique to themselves. Your journey through this life is finding your niche, having the courage and confidence to step into your power. It's time to discover what your one thing is and then celebrate with your friends. Wearing a mask and socially distancing, of course.
Embrace the Possible
The Choice: Embrace the Possible by Dr. Edith Eger is a life-changing book. After reading this book, my first thought was, what do I have to complain about, ever? Dr. Eger is a survivor of the Auschwitz Concentration camp. Also known as Hell on Earth.
This book is not all about her time at the camp but more focused on recovery. She intersperses stories of her patients she counsels as part of her journey. The stories are impactful and cause the reader to get involved. Look for themselves in each of her stories and evaluate if they need to heal.
Dr. Eger never asks people to feel sorry for her. She never seems filled with hate towards her captors. When she returns to Auschwitz, the reader walks with her as she processes all she went through.
My takeaway from the book? If she can overcome being in 'hell' for over a year in her life, what's my excuse?
What are you going to do next in your retirement?
Women, through the years, took jobs that fit with their skill sets and child care responsibilities. Many studied nursing, teaching, or more administrative positions. It was the sign of the times 30 plus years ago. Very few opportunities were available.
After spending the past 30-40 years in the workplace, this group of women are thinking of and preparing to retire. Move on to their What's Next. Trying to decide for possibly the first time in their life what they want to do. Finally, able to follow their dreams. Lend a voice to their inner hero.
What to do next is the question. Start their own business? Travel the world? But will their retirement hold out? What better way to control their future than by starting their own business!

Rise up, keep going, believe in you!
How often have you failed? And I mean fail in a significant way. How are they able to pick themselves up and keep going? What are the intangibles? Is it faith? Hope? Trust?
I believe some people believe, rather know, there are more extraordinary things awaiting them. Each time they fail means they are much closer to their goal.
When I first started as the CEO of Arizona ALFA, our first conference, I fell off the stage. In front of many people who I just met. Embarrassing? Yes. I had never been a leader of anything except my childhood dog.
I knew I must get up, keep going, so I did.
That bad embracing outcome gave me confidence, and as my mom used to say, 'that which does kill us makes us better.' Guess what? She was right.
There are going to be good times and bad times. Good outcomes and bad. It is 100% up to the person whether to view it as something that happens in life and keep going, or allow it to define them.
Choose YOU. Know you are here for a reason. Find Your Why and Find Your Blue Rose.
Is really none of your business.
As human beings, people get way to caught up in what other people think about them. That holds them back from going after their dream of starting a business, losing weight, applying for that new position or job.
It makes people hesitate to go all in. They are always creating doubts and fears in their life. However, these are all hidden self-created fears. How, because they allow what someone tells them to be more truth than what they tell themselves.
When you listen to others' opinions of you, what you are hearing is their beliefs. Their values. They are planning their life experience into your life. Where it does not belong now or ever, this is like giving your power to another person who has no business in your business.
When people give you a negative opinion, you need to ignore it. Walk away or worst case, thank them, bless it and then let it go. There are zero reasons to listen to anyone other than you.
Own your mind. Understand what and where your Shadow Beliefs are and let's get them to heal.
Lobbyist and Successful Business Owner
As the youngest of seven children, Janna learned early the importance of standing up and fighting for herself andwhat she believes in. From growing up on a ranch in rural Arizona to owning her own lobbying firm in Phoenix, AZ, Janna has accomplished more than most people do in a lifetime.
Janna overcame many challenges, including the loss of her mother during her first year of law school. Her mother was a strong influence and Janna believes she was instrumental in encouraging her never to accept less than she knew she was worth.
Because of this, Janna learned to advocate on her own behalf. Not to wait for permission, but to speak up and represent herself. Have unwavering faith in trusting her intuition and instinct. Because of these life lessons plus a large dose of good ol’ fashioned grit, Janna built a seven-figure consulting business.
She has been voted #1 lobbyist in Arizona and has many large corporate and trade association clients that trust her to help them achieve their goals through working with the diverse members of the Arizona legislature. Janna has accomplished this and much more, all while raising four children with the help of her childhood friend-turned husband Chris.
Janna is an influential woman who believes everyone has a voice, and that voice should be heard.
Discover how Susan built a powerful media company.
Susan started working in media with Phoenix Suns' in-house media company. Working in a fast-paced environment with a sports franchise, she found her passion. She was their spokesperson, promoted over 100 concerts, and worked on the grand opening team for Bank One Ballpark.
Susan worked for the Phoenix Suns Charities and learned the unique needs of nonprofits. Susan still dedicates time to help local nonprofits with their vast media needs.
It was not always easy for Susan. She had parents with mental illness that Susan had to learn how to navigate while taking care of herself. With that tenacity or a born PR person Susan grew her company into a high 6 figure business.
Susan is on the faculty of Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication for Arizona State University.
Jarrett Ransom a successful business owner will share her tips on how Everything is Overcomeable.
Jarrett Ransom has dedicated her career to being of service and single-handedly built a high 6-figure business where she works exclusively with nonprofit organizations and nonprofit leaders. However, like most women, Jarrett has seen good times and equally bad times.
One thing most people may not know about her is she's one of the most resilient, fun-loving, yet extremely focused women I have ever met. She has never met a stranger. Jarret loves all things nonprofits and is called the Nonprofit Nerd.
Jarrett found herself pregnant and on welfare during the last recession. However, in typical Jarrett fashion, she decided that was not who she was and developed a plan to move forward. (Hint – you define who you are and what you will accept out of life.) She did this all while raising her son.
During our conversation, she shares great tips on what to do when you are on the downside. How to build a company using what the Universe has provided to you. Share some laughs as she shares some stories with all of us.
When You Change Patterns You win.
Become the Shero in your story. Change your past story into one that supports you. A story that reinforces who you truly are meant to be mov ing forward.
People will run patterns that continue to play over and over in their mind. when they get stressed or tired these patterns start up. The key to healing your past is taking the time to look at the patterns, learn where they come from then heal them.

Women need to learn how to step into their God Given Power.
Why do so many women fear power? They shrink in a room filled with powerful men. They sit in meetings listening to the question, know the answer yet refuse to raise their hands. Then secretly, silently get mad when a co-worker they told their idea to, takes that idea as their own.
For far too long, women have dumbed down their knowledge and allowed others to get substantial pay increases as they settled for what someone gave them. Knowing full well they were in a higher position, but I was told, the man has a family to support, I have a husband. Seriously. (I have often wondered knowing he had two daughters if his views have changed.)
Women must learn to stand up, raise their hand, without any fear. Forget the knowledge that not so long ago women were burned at the stake. Be confident in their leadership abilities. Understand they are equal partners in this world.
Be confident. Be the person you know in your heart you were born to be. You sense the powerful, beautiful, confident women locked within your soul. Let her out. Release her! She is ready to take her position on the stage of life. If you want to learn how to stand in your power

FEAR 🤬 One of the most powerful negative words there ever has been. This 4 letter word holds more people back. Stuck in place. People need to destroy their fears and start living in their power. How? Ah. that’s the million-dollar question.
Once you learn how to control your fear opportunities will arrive in your life. Manifesting your dreams will be made much easier when you are not focused on the worst-case outcome.
See the positive and Ignite Your Possibilities!
Confidence is the key to your success in life and business.
There is a nine-letter word that may be one of the most powerful words for people to embrace. Too many people have trouble with this one word and I believe women are even more challenged. But once you make peace with the word and understand the power of a confident woman your world will change.
This 9 letter word is one of the powerful words for people to embrace. Confident women are viewed differently than from confident men. These views are what causes women to hold back, play small.
I am begging all women, all people to step up and into greatness. Know you will be accepted by those who matter.
A New Normal is Creating a Challenge for People.
During these times of the COVID-19 pandemic, each day brings a new normal. The ground keeps shifting around everyone shaking their foundation. It seems for each plan they make it changes the next day.
No one has summer vacation plans due to the virus, money, lack of jobs and most places are still closed. The country reopened for 2 weeks then the earth moved again. It shifted with the protest of racial inequality.
This is causing pain, frustration, and depression, and in some, anger. If you are off-balanced try to meditate or at least be still. We are not through this therefore the importance of being grounded is even more important. Try to relax and know that in the end, all will be well.
Time for Possibilities Cafe...where everything is possible if you believe in YOU. It’s time to Ignite Your Possibilities and discover your Enchanted Leadership Success Formula. My success formula is L+C-B-Success. Self Leadership + Clarity of Vision (the dream) - Blocks (Limiting Blocks holding your back = Success. When you know and do each of these 3 areas you will find success. When you are able to develop a formula of success that works for you that will be the beginning of finding your way.
The framework from a Hero's journey will help your customers better relate to the story of your life and business.
I'm sure you recognize a Hero's Journey from the most successful movies and books they have read. This framework has been used for years. Once you learn to place your story into the framework
When your brain recognizes a pattern it will listen for more. When they hear or see this pattern, they are intuitively interested in learning more about your products or services.
The brain likes familiar. Be a friend to your potential customers' brains and make it easier for them to say YES.
Is this fear causing you to miss out on New Adventures? New Opportunities?
Way too many people hold back due to FOMM. Fear of Making a Mistake. Never taking that final step that could lead them to their dreams. Never finishing, or never marketing that new class for FOMM.
Whatever happened to the knowledge that everyone makes mistakes. What has caused so many people to be frozen at the thought of making a mistake? My guess, social media. When you make a mistake now everyone sees it.
Over my 20+ years as a leader, I have made at least one million mistakes. Including falling off a stage, giving a presentation and the numbers were all wrong and introducing the keynote speaker by the wrong name. Do you know what I learned? Some people laugh, a few will say mean things and the rest will shrug their shoulders.
Sure, I was embarrassed and beat myself up more than I needed. But, in the end, I learned the lesson and moved on. I could have chosen to stay stuck in place but who does that serve? Certainly not me. Nor YOU.
Embrace that you will make mistakes. Some small and inconsequential and some major ones. At the end of the day, I can promise you will survive and even thrive. You'll thrive because when you overcome obstacles it gives you a boost of confidence to know you are indeed a SHERO.
Never let fear steal your dreams!
Pam Sears leads the way in overcoming all of life's obstacles.
Pam was fired from her job unexpectedly. Then with her two young boys decided it was time to leave her unsupportive husband. This was done during a time when women seldom left a husband with no support, no job, and no fallback plan.
Pam had a strong belief in herself and knew it would work out. She started attending a massage school and became a business owner. Everything was on track, personally, professionally, and financially. The business was doing great; boys were growing into wonderful men when it happened.
Pam calls it her '2x4' moment. You know, when you get hit by a 2X4 totally unexpectedly. She found out that she had breast cancer. Another large obstacle she would have to overcome. With a strong level of tenacity, Pam promised herself she would overcome and come out stronger.
Pam survived and in fact even thrived. She learned that self-care is important and to find love in all occasions. I think of Pam as the Heart Lady. Pam takes pictures of all the hearts she sees in the Universe. Reminding her followers to also practice self-care and be filled with love.
Now, faced with a massive economic downturn, Pam is poised to face yet another obstacle. But with typical Pam optimism, she knows all will be well. Her beloved camera broke, no worries for Pam, she went to a pawnshop and bought another. Her business took a dip. That's fine she is rethinking her offering, how to offer them and trying new avenues to get her message out there.
Pam is a woman of conviction who does whatever it takes to get her message of love and overcoming what life throws at you.
Check out Pam's online website or her YouTube channel.

Be a Tall Poppy and let Your Voice be Heard.
Tall Poppy syndrome I think originated in Australia At least that is where I learned the expression. When someone is a tall poppy they are 'standing out.' Drawing attention to themselves like that is a bad thing.
The saying implies that standing out is a bad thing. I think the opposite. When you stand out, you are CONFIDENT in who you are and what you do. There is zero need to hide your greatness. Yet sayings like this one make people step back fearful they will be a tall poppy. For years I was heckled and ridiculed for standing out, or as my mother would say 'drawing attention to myself.' So, I pulled back. Hiding behind others, waiting to be invited to join. Now I look back and only see missed opportunities.
But when you pull back, be LESS THAN, you are helping no one. You are only benefiting the person who was insecure in the first place to call you a tall poppy.
Have confidence and faith to stand proudly in your voice. Know you are here for a specific reason and live daily in that reason.
Promise yourself you will be the TALLEST poppy in the field, heck in the Universe. As the saying goes, You do You!
You got to give to get
During these crazy times, everyone seems to be cutting back. The economy is constricting as unemployment is rising. I see more people becoming fearful.
Small businesses need to be proactive and stay in front of their customer. This can be done by hosting free webinars (although I think everyone is doing that right now), discount their training, or free groups.
All are great ideas. The key now is provide value to your customer and potential customer. For years my family and I vacations at the same hotel at Laguana Beach. Until they raised their rates and stopped making deal.
We quit going. Now, the phone is ringing with hey we have great specials for the summer. We said no thanks.
How you treat people now will determine your success moving forward.
A great motto to have is . . .give more than you take.
Now It's Time to Stand in My Power.
We as women have over the past hundred of years have been controlled. Told what a good girl looks like, how to act and behave. Those who have abuse in their background are even more compliant. We become 'People Pleasers' her not make other people happy at our own expense.
Women must decide that they come onto this world as strong young girls then become domesticated. Tolerant. Willig to settle. But I know ladies we can do better. We can support and encourage one another.
The question to ask yourself almost daily is: Who were you meant to be BEFORE you became who you are? Look deep within to the promise you made yourself as a child. How you would not change like the adults around you did. Make you way back to that person.
Most important thing is to be happy, be true to you and follow your heart.
Believe in You and keep going.
I love studying human behaviors. If you really want to see how humans behave and thing...is an election season. Some people lead, others follow. Who is mentally strong and not?
VP Biden was running out of money, had no organization to speak about and little hope. However, he receives a few endorsements and bam...he's back in. That is a winner. Just keep going.
Sometimes you can't know quit. You must keep following your dreams. Trust in your skills. You are sure at the end of every challenging journey is a success. Or at the least a lesson to be learned. Step back and see what you are suppose to learn.
Just remember Winners never quit!
For the first time, many women will have a choice of what business to start.
Women who are 55 - 80 took jobs that worked for their schedules. Child care, after work events, taking care of the house. Plus women had only started entering the work force in mid 1960.
Until late 1970's women could not get a credit card without their husbands' signature. It was truly a much different time. Most women accepted a job based on availability then developed the skill set to match the job. If they desired a promotion they would adopt that skill set needed.
In the Book Called, The Second Mountain it talks about how most people do not really need to think too much for themselves. Parents, the school system, support system in most cases take care of this. Then at 19 off to college, marriage, travel, work or a host of other things and they are expected to think for themselves. Find the right job, apartment, friends and support system.
I argue that women also at 55- 65 apprachiend their Third Mountain. This is the mountain where they have raised the children, taken care of the their parents. marriage. Now they have choice. Looking at retiremtn many are choosng to start a business.
However, because they needed to develop so many skill sets it takes time to determine what they desire to do. What they really want to focus on. They are true multipassionate future entreprenuers.
If you are interested in a great read here's the link, The Second Mountain
Your gift is hidden within your story.
It's the meaning that is placed that you place on this story that makes the tale applicable. Everyone has a story. How does it get you to the purpose of your business? Why you do what you do in your business offerings.
That's why most start a business to share their life experiences with others. To develop a common bond so all can have a unique perspective.
However, I have found that within their story is a tale of overcoming and resilience. More resilient people seem to be more successful which makes sense. They let nothing get in the way of their business. The goal is always on the other side of hard work.
The dream fulfilled.
However, contained in these stories is their gift — the area where when they are in it, they excel. Things go effortlessly while everything falls into place. When you discover your special gift, your business sweet spot, you'll know it. Looking for an example? https://storybrand.com/how-to-tell-a-story/
Take time, look at your story. What is the overarching message? What did you accomplish using what skill set and how can you teach it to others? What delivery system?
Take your time and be 100% assured you have a special gift begging to get out. Begging to be shared.
In full disclosure, when I started the struggle was with what part of my story to tell. And more important how to condense it down. Who would care and why? I missed out on the theme of sharing a story so others could understand they are not alone. That others who may not be where they want to be now have an example to follow.
Truthfully, and I probably shouldn't admit this but I watched Tony Robbins infomercial over and over. Heck, I even had it on tapa back in the VCR days. (Don't know what a VCR is...ask you mother.)Wondering when will it be my turn, when will I make it? When will I be featured in his infomercial?

Mindset Matters. Own your mindset
When starting a new business, job, heck meeting a new friend, most allow their inner voice to win. Convince them they don't belong. They cancel or they go and don't have a good time.
What do successful people do? They own their thinking. They have learned to silence the inner voice or, at the very least, own it. Control it. No one will be positive every day but they control it.
Everyone gets sad, or negative. Successful people only allow a set amount of time for negatively and wallowing. They may say, I'll be negative for 30 min, 2 hour, heck even a day. But thats it. Its back to positve.
You know what they say, control your mind or it'll control you. Need help? Here's my 'Top 10 Success Habits' MP3 I learned from interviewing countless 6-figure women.
Please let me know if oyu agree with my thesis in the podcast.
Is this what is holding you back from your dreams?
Do you keep trying to move forward yet always feel like an Imposter? Your belief is that your never good enough, smart enough, and, well the list goes on. You hold yourself back from applying for that job, starting your own business, or even going on that date? For fear you are good enough
The 5 types of Imposter Syndrome typically start at childhood. From being raised in a family where a person never really met the bar. Maybe there was gifted sibling in music, school, athletics, well you get the idea.
In my family, one sibling was great at athletics and the other was great at music, athletics and smart. Good grief, Then, there as me, the classic underachiever. I just couldn't find my place, my thing. What was my gift? The other two were revered so I just 'got by.' As I got older I found my thing but still wrestle with the Expert Imposter Syndrome.
I have since learned once you recognize which one of the 5 you live in, to me, the healing becomes easy. It was like anepiphany.
If you're looking for more information check out this article. After I read this there was a huge relief that swept over me. I no longer needed to prove to anyone I belong, And neither do you!

Many people dream of owning their own business. When they sit down to really think about what to focus on they get caught in the weeds. Unsure what passion to follow or listen to a coach who 'helps' them select the correct one. That would always be the one that could make money fast.
I want people to pick the area that lights them up. It's like finding your Blue Rose. A Blue Rose is a symbol of new beginnings, enlightenment, enchantment and you want to be enchanted with your new business. Find the business sweet spot that is unique to you while generating a profit.
