Hon har tidigare varit medlem i musikgrupperna Sound of Music, Peter's Pop Squad (som bildades 1989 och bara gav ut två singlar) och One More Time. Hon är gift med Peter Grönvall (son till Benny Andersson) som även han medverkat i samtliga grupper.

The movie was produced, written and directed by the Farrelly brothers and co-written by Mike Cerrone, and stars Chris Diamantopoulos, Sean Hayes, and Will Sasso, recreating the eponymous characters played by Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Curly Howard. The film's story places the Stooges in a modern setting.

It topped the UK singles chart in July 1966 for one week, and was the second number one for Georgie Fame, who would mark his final number-one single at the beginning of 1968 with "The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde".

Det är faktiskt riktigt skojigt att skriva om svensk toppop just nu. Som om TAGES "STUDIO" (Parlophone LP) t ex. Den är inte riktigt men nästan så bra som det myckna förpratet gjort gällande. Tages kan konsten att låna utan att apa efter. Visst hörs Beatles i "Studio", men bara Tages nya grepp att utnyttja svensk folkton med spelmän och allt (mera sådant, tack!) särskiljer skivan. Allting "sitter" så fint för Tages numera. Det verkar lätt för dem. Hade gruppen en instrumentalsolist av klass också! Men den bristen vägs i viss mån upp av att grabbarna skriver bra låtar. Dock tycker jag fortfarande att gamla, skandalöst Tio i Topp-floppande "She's Having A Baby" är det bästa Tages gjort. Den är med på "Studio" och står sig fint bland allt nytt. Ett mycket snyggt omslag sätter extra piff på Tages "Studio".

Posted by http://www.nostalgoteket.se While completing Giant, and to promote Rebel Without a Cause, Dean filmed a short interview with actor Gig Young for an episode of Warner Bros. Presents just thirteen days before his untimely death at the age of 24 in a car crash on september 30th 1955, in which Dean, instead of saying the popular phrase "The life you save may be your own" instead ad-libbed "The life you might save might be mine." [sic] Dean's sudden death prompted the studio to re-film the section, and the piece was never aired—though in the past several sources have referred to the footage, mistakenly identifying it as a public service announcement.
Also when Dean introduced himself to actor Alec Guinness outside the Villa Capri restaurant in Hollywood, he asked him to take a look at the Porsche Spyder he was driving. Guinness thought the car appeared 'sinister' and told Dean: "If you get in that car, you will be found dead in it by this time next week." This encounter took place on September 23, 1955, seven days before Dean's death.

Behind-the-scenes shots of Streisand, Wyler, and Ross filming "Don't Rain On My Parade" are included. Curious is an alternate take of one of Barbra's last phrases of the song.
Barbra in Movieland was included on Columbia's 2001 DVD of Funny Girl as a Special Feature.

Posted by http://www.nostalgoteket.se The SHAKERS All I Want Is My Baby (single: Platina PA 140, 1967) A few years after the Shakers split up, singer Tommy Rander had become a patron of sorts in the music business and did his best to hide his past as a pop star. But later he must have realized his mistake, for the Shakers got together again, on a hobby basis, with Rander as initiator... "All I Want Is My Baby" ended up on Tio i Topp in the spring of 1966.
The clip is from the french film Un homme et un femme (A man and a woman) from 1966 starring Anouk Aimée and Jean-Louis Trintignant. One of those movies with a script you can put on the back of a matchbox and it is still a wonderful movie.
Posted by http://www.nostalgoteket.se Tages were a Swedish rock and roll/psychedelic/folk band formed in the early sixties near Gothenburg.
The band released a number of singles and LPs in their native Sweden to considerable success, making the Swedish Top Ten more than a dozen times. Though remembered as one of the finest non-English speaking bands of the 1960s, they failed to ever really break into the US or UK markets. Tages also produced one of the worlds first psychedelic albums, named "Extra Extra" in 1966. Then they wanted to create pop-music that was totally Swedish by learning old Swedish folk-music. After this, they produced their fifth and last album named "Studio" in Abbey Road Studio in 1967. The album is influenced by Swedish folk music and psychedelia. It is also remembered as the finest album from the sixties, from an non-English speaking country. It is also remembered as "The Sgt Pepper Of Sweden", not because it sounds like The Beatles but because it is totally original. In 1968 the band released the fondly remembered single "Fantasy Island", this was followed up by their last single; "Halcyon Days". Several band members went on to form Blond, a short-lived pop band that released one LP in US before disbanding in 1970. This song was banned by the BBC, because it is about teenage pregnacy.

Posted by http://www.nostalgoteket.se Fabulous Four was formed in Stockholm in 1964 and consisted of singer and bass player Lalla Hansson, guitar and vocals Ulf Arvidsson and Björn Magnusson and Jan Sandelin on drums. This track is not representative of either Fabulous Four or Lalla's solo work. This is like another band kidnapped them and recorded Rotten Rats for them. And created a classic fuzz pop hit.

Posted by http://www.nostalgoteket.se A big-voiced blue-eyed soul, jazz, and pop vocalist reminiscent of Lulu, Dusty Springfield, and Petula Clark, Sweden's Doris Svensson is best known for her lone solo LP, 1970's eclectic Did You Give the World Some Love Today Baby, which made few waves on its initial release but became a favorite of rare groove crate-diggers as time went on. Born in Gothenburg in 1947, Svensson performed with several bands throughout the '60s, making her debut with the Strangers in 1960 and going on to score hits in the groups Plums ("Mama Didn't Lie," "Wouldn't That Be Groovy" -- the latter with a promo video directed by a young Lasse Hallström) and the Dandys ("Go Back to Daddy") late in the decade.

Posted by http://www.nostalgoteket.se The Namelosers was the wildest swedish beat band in the '60s. At first they started as The Beatchers, the name was taken from The Beatles and The Searchers. In '64 they released first their EP which included New Orleans, Bama Lama Bama Loo, What'd I Say and Around and Around. Then they received a lawsuit-threat from a Gothenburg based The Beachers. A radio station held a 'Name the Band contest' for them. The winning entry was The Namelosers! They released 'New Orleans' again as The Namelosers on EMI. It reached #3 in the swedish chart!

It is about the launch of Major Tom, a fictional astronaut; its title alludes to the film 2001: A Space Odyssey, released the previous year. The lyrics have also been seen to lampoon the failed British space programme. The song appears on the album David Bowie (also known as Space Oddity). The BBC featured the song in its television coverage of the Apollo 11 launch and lunar landing, which took place in the days following the release of the song.

Several other male vocalists recorded it on albums including Freddy Weller and Dobie Gray but it was never a hit until Anderson's version. A recording by the girl group The Three Degrees, best known for their 1974 hit, "When Will I See You Again", also predated Lynn Anderson's hit version.
Anderson wanted to record the song but her producer (and husband) Glenn Sutton felt it was a "man's song", in part because of the line "I could promise you things like big diamond rings". According to Anderson, Sutton agreed to record the song as a potential album cut when there was still session time left after her scheduled session. Rearranging the song to a more uptempo, light-hearted melody, Sutton and everyone in the studio was impressed with the results, including Columbia Records executive Clive Davis, who deemed the song worthy of a pop release as well as being a country single. Shortly after its breakthrough on American top 40 radio, the song became an international hit. A cover version released by Sandi Shaw in England ultimately failed to chart as the original quickly became a major success there.

Barry White, born Barry Eugene Carter (September 12, 1944 -- July 4, 2003), was an American composer and singer-songwriter.
A five-time Grammy Award-winner known for his distinctive bass voice and romantic image, White's greatest success came in the 1970s as a solo singer and with the Love Unlimited Orchestra, crafting many enduring soul, funk, and disco songs such as his two biggest hits, "You're the First, the Last, My Everything" and "Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe."
Worldwide, White had many gold and platinum albums and singles, with combined sales of over 100 million, according to critics Ed Hogan and Wade Kergan. His influences include southern soul artists like Isaac Hayes, Clarence Carter, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin plus Motown artists The Supremes, The Four Tops and Marvin Gaye. Along with Isaac Hayes, White is considered by Allmusic.com as the first singer who played disco music before the actual period of the late 1970s.

Three years later Brazilian musician Sergio Mendes gave it a catchy, tight bossa nova arrangement with soaring vocals by Lani Hall. It became his signature song, although in Brazil Jorge Ben's version is the most well known one. This was featured in the 1990 Tom Hanks movie Joe Versus The Volcano and the 1997 movie Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. The Brazilian group Tamba Trio had a #34 hit in the UK in 1998 with their version, which was surprisingly the first time the song entered the UK charts. In 2006 Sergio Mendes re-recorded the song with The Black Eyed Peas with his wife Gracinha Leporace providing additional vocals. This time it reached #6 in the UK and it topped the charts in Holland and Hungary.

It's also said that the drummer, Börje Söderlund, suffers from an acute Keith Moon complex, but this doesn't matter when he goes berserk on the drums. "No No No No," the B-side of the Shivers' only single, was produced by no less than Ola Håkansson. He succeeded beyond expectations, and the Shivers' version surpasses the original English version by the group Sorrows. Håkansson's first work as producer also was his best, although I doubt that he will agree...

When Bamboo emerged in 1968, many believed they would take over Swedish pop, but things didn't really go well for the group on the charts, and the following year the band members went their separate ways.

Posted by http://www.nostalgoteket.se Eleanor Bodel (real name Bodil Ellinor Olsson) (July 6, 1948 in Nacka, Sweden) is a Swedish pop singeress, who began performing in 1968 in the orchestra of Bruno Glennmark and from 1969 as solo artist. Her hits include Sunday will never be the same (1968), One Way Ticket written by Neil Sedaka (1969) and a cover from a single of Del Shannon Keep Searchin' (1969). Eleanor Bodel also spent four weeks at the top of Svensktoppen chart with Jag önskar att det alltid vore sommar, which had been composed by Gerry Goffin and Carole King and written partly by herself.
Video is from James Hill's short film The Home-Made Car from 1963. Produced by British Petroleum, this was shown hundreds of times on BBC during the daytime as a sort of test film som something would be on for tv salesmen to show. Lots of kids probably spent a few sickdays watching this as well. Cars in this clip are a Austin Healey and a 1923 Morris Oxford.

Posted by http://www.nostalgoteket.se Ok, so pairing up Every raindrop means a lot with The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (Les parapluies de Cherbourg) from 1964, may not be genius, but it's not that far from it, right? Anyway, Tages was the Beatles of the swedish westcoast back in the 60's and scored several top ten hits in Sweden. The movie is one of those wonderful movies they don't make anymore. Starring Catherine Deneuve and Nino Castelnuovo, it's a colourful all singing extravaganza, never clichéd, never boring, never predictable.

José González och Elias Araya började spela musik tillsammans när de var 14 år gamla. I mitten av 1990-talet träffade de Tobias Winterkorn och idén till ett nytt band föddes.
Bandets första alster, 7" Straight Lines, utkom på bolaget Kakafoni 2000.
Det skulle ta flera år innan nästa skiva släpptes. Förklaringarna till detta var flera. José var upptagen med sin solokarriär, Elias studerade konst i Finland och Tobias jobbade deltid som lärare och fokuserade på andra musikaliska projekt. 2006 kom emellertid EP:n Black Refuge, en skiva som först var tänkt som ett album, men som blev tvungen att reduceras till en EP då bandet inte hade tillräckligt med låtmaterial. Skivan innehöll förutom fyra egna låtar även en cover på Bruce Springsteens låt "The Ghost of Tom Joad". Skivan fick ett gott mottagande.

Den handlar om en italiensk pälshandlare som besöker Sverige för första gången och hans möten med olika svenska kvinnor. Det som är intressant är alla svenska traditioner han tar del av och möter, som julbord, nobelfesten, luciafirande, bastubad och is-rally. Här har jag klippt ihop godbitarna.

The Violents was influenced by The Shadows. In 1961 The Violents had a big hit with Alpens ros, which made it to no 5 at Tio i topp.The follow up Kors på Idas grav failed to chart. In 1962 the single Liebestwist was released only to be banned on the radio, as it was an insult to a classical piece: Liebestraum av Franz Liszt.
In 1962 the band found a singer, Jerry Williams. On their first single, Darling Nelly Grey, they were presented as Jerry Williams & The Violents. The Violents disbanded in 1966.
The movie where I found the clips is called Don't make waves (1967) starring Tony Curtis and Sharon Tate.

Helt Säkert är i varje fall att det är en kanonbra låt. Med på scen finns ju också programledaren Niklas Strömstedt och Popsicles Andreas Mattsson. Full bandinfo och vem som ljussatt och producerat och hämtat kaffe och allt det där, kommer i slutet av videon.

The Hounds was a swedish popgroup from Stockholm that was started in 1965. They had a few hits before they disbanded in 1968. Drummer Janne Önnerud went on to have a solo career and was hosting the popular radio show Svensktoppen for three years. Guitar player and singer Henrik Salander went on to become secretary-general of the Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission.

In the beginning the band consisted of: Ola Håkansson (singer), Christer Idering (guitar), Johannes Olsson (organ), Lennart Gudmundsson (bass), and Leif Johansson (drums). Claes af Geijerstam took over after Idering as player and Åke Eldsäter for Lennart Gudmundsson as bass player1965.
Let's Dance was a big hit for Chris Montez but Ola & the Janglers managed to get a big hit with it in 1968, even making a dent in the american Billboard hot 100.

She formed her first band at the age of 12, in her small hometown. At the age of 24, she moved to Hollywood, LA to attend Musicians Institute for a couple of years. Liny always knew what she wanted, and quickly formed her band; Throw Away Heroes.
A few years later Liny moved back to sweden, formed another band called My Curse. It was during sessions at legendary Polar Studios in Stockholm that she was discovered by producer/engineer Lennart Östlund(ABBA,Genesis,Led Zeppelin). The two of them started writing songs together.
Liny Wood is all charisma, ability and attitude. No matter what you choose to call her music, you can rest assured that a star has seen the light of day.

Postad av http://nostalgoteket.se Lustans har ju många ikoniska låtar och fantastiska texter som ingen annan kunde matcha, men det blev aldrig snyggare än i Läppar tiger, allt var perfekt; produktion, omslag till singeln, men så var det videon, den var så svensk. Inte för att denna är så mycket bättre, den är väl gjord på ungefär samma budget.

Riktigt bra konsert trots att den började innan killarna brukar vakna i vanliga fall.

Men en riktigt bra konsert var det, Taubescenen på Liseberg är liten och intim, man sitter nästan i knät på artisten. Texten till Tevisan skrevs av Hasse Alfredson och Tage Danielsson. 1959 är alltså innan alla revyer och tvframträdanden och inte minst egna filmer, de hade hållit på med radio i några år visserligen, men ändå. Texten är otroligt fånig, men ganska kul. Musiken skrevs av Bengt Hallberg, redan veteran vid den här tiden.

The viewer is taken to King's Road, SOHO, and Carnaby Street. Some of the shops visited are: "Granny Takes a Trip," "Hung on You," "The Antiques Supermarket," "I Was Lord Kitchener's Valet," and "Gear." The narrator tells us that, "A year or two ago fashion originated in the haute couture's of Paris, then spread downward through society in ever cheapening copies; now these shops which would have interpreted the mold, originate today's fashion, owing nothing to Paris or anyone else." Next, it's off to the discotheque club scene where the "in" gear is worn. Clubs include: "Tiles," "Bag of Nails" (the Beatles used to hang out here), "Samantha's," "Georges" and "the Saddle Room." Bristande planering och dåligt väder gjorde att filmen blev dubbelt så dyr som budgeterat. Censurproblem, dålig kritik och dito publik-tillströmning gjorde sitt till, och det tog lång tid innan bandet kom på fötter igen.

"Dandy" is a 1966 song from The Kinks, appearing on their Face to Face album. It was released as a single in Continental Europe only, where it charted, reaching #1 in Germany, #2 in Belgium and #3 in the Netherlands. In some countries, the single was flipped with "Party Line" (also from Face to Face) as the A-side.
In the song, songwriter Ray Davies skewered the would-be master lover of the title. There is speculation that Davies wrote the song in reference to the wild lifestyle of his younger brother, Kinks guitarist Dave Davies.

Bristande planering och dåligt väder gjorde att filmen blev dubbelt så dyr som budgeterat. Censurproblem, dålig kritik och dito publik-tillströmning gjorde sitt till, och det tog lång tid innan bandet kom på fötter igen.
