This is a deep one.
Being a person who was groomed from trauma, i've found setting boundaries have been a hard thing to do and i know Toni can relate. whether it's setting boundaries for our thoughts, emotions, relationship, friendships etc. boundaries have been something we as a people, have not fully dive into and practiced, daily.
In this video, we will allow you to see that our thoughts should be the number one place, we can and should start to set those boundaries. what people donβt realize is that your silent monologues are what leads your life actions and decisions. Another way to acknowledge is how those silent monologues are groomed from other peopleβs narrative and words, especially for trauma livedβ¦ people.
As an abuse victim having boundaries with yourself is extremely important!! Especially mentally. Then setting standards with your thought is something that we donβt think is important. Boundaries and standard for your thoughts, stops them from running wild and free. Have standards for what typeβ¦ of thoughts youβre entertaining. Itβs similar to what you would allow for your external surrounding.
Entertaining thoughts that donβt allow for positive growth and healing would be a starting point.
Donβt allow your thoughts to continue to be your abuserβ¦.

With trauma like ours, wanting a nurturing β loveβ can make use look in the wrong places and wanting it from the wrong people, especially in the relationships weβve form.

Itβs a taboo topic my co-host and I realized that our black families avoid (like the plague) or donβt know how to heal from it, as some of use just join the βsuck it upβOr βget over itβ train. Our families have had years of pushing this βunder the rugβ. she and I both have had first hand experience with this taboo topic and experience, so letβs discuss.
In the video we will not only reveal all.. but weβve decided to turn this into a healing SERIES for our community, after all , we are on the Kulture healing page. Today she will not only reveal her experience but I will reveal mine as well. This was not how envisioned my self revealing this but the ancestors pushed and I went for it. Please, joined us while you take a journey into our stories and healing. This will be heavy for some families but please watch has it can take you inside the mind and emotion of a family member who went through this or even yourself.

Today, my girl and i are here to break down our journey with COLORISM, with her living in thailand for a period of time, and i'm sure some you are aware of the heighten colorist behavior in thailand ( go watch the thai commercials on youtube) then me, living in the caribbean have witnessed and lived some of it, which made a smooth transition in which we greatly relate on this topic. Women, we've got to be more considerate towards our men because the outside world is doing a poor job with that. Their lives are already planned out for them, they don't need you as a constant reminder to do it. They need a place to destress to be themselves not a police officer. we've as a whole need to learn each other's love language instead of the blaming language, a person cannot make you whole if you don't know how Β to do it for yourself or even, you don't even know what your "whole" is..... enjoy the podcast.....
