As I sat down to watch Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life this year I began to take an inventory of my life. I saw the drama of George’s life unfold. His happy moments. His roadblocks. I looked at similar events in my life. I realized something. There’s a little George Bailey in us all.

They say a photograph is worth 1,000 words. If that’s the case, how many words would a video be worth? “It is worth the amount of effort that was put into it,” teases David Seifert, Marketing and Digital Media Specialist at Daemen College. “It depends on what you’re trying to convey and the story you're trying to tell. If your video is telling a story that solicits an emotion or action it’s worth more words than you can think.”

A photograph captures a moment in time, which is important when connecting to our life story. For as long as Western New York Photographer Kristin Schlenker can remember something would catch her eye and she would be inspired. One spark of inspiration gave way to an opportunity to take photographs for others and in 2011 Under the Old Willow Photography was born.
