Join a refreshing conversation with Augustine and DeWayne Crocker, Jr as they discuss what it looks like to steward influence, lead worship with humility, and why adopting a continuous learning mentality is essential for young leaders.

Discovering his love for music and performance at an early age, DeWayne has been singing since he was just five years old. DeWayne has been a household name through his local communities for quite some time, but it was not until his viral social media moments in recent years that led him to reach fans in a broader spectrum and took his music career to new heights.

Since the age of 16, DeWayne has had many fortunate opportunities to travel and sing professionally, performing with and for some of the industry's best voices, musicians, and producers. In 2015, he was the youngest contestant to go on and compete in a rigorous auditioning and training process for the final contestant selection for BET's Sunday's Best, where his voice and soul impacted every judge, contestant, and spectator on set.

With more than 60 million digital views across Youtube and Facebook, DeWayne has gained notoriety worldwide and has been fortunate enough to grace some of the biggest stages and platforms in the music industry. DeWayne was blessed to compete on Season 18 of American Idol in 2019. His journey on the show was so captivating that the producers asked him to return as a Comeback Candidate the following year, which elevated DeWayne's platform and passion for his faith. DeWayne uses his music not only to minister but to set a standard for his generation. "I want others to know that your dreams can become a reality. You have to stay faithful, focused, hear, and follow the path that God has laid out for you. It may not be instantaneous, but it always happens at the right time," said DeWayne in an interview on ABC.

DeWayne's ministry in music has granted him some fantastic opportunities to share his voice and ministry with a variety of audiences, including being asked to sing at the wedding nuptials of Tennis legend Serena Williams and now-husband Alexis Ohanian in 2017. The star-studded event included guests such as Beyonce, Venus Williams, Kelly Rowland, and many more.

He is currently a transferring junior at Oral Robert's University in Tulsa, OK. He is majoring in Biblical Literature and minoring in Business Administration.

DeWayne plans to keep his faith first throughout his journey to becoming a disciplined, molded, and cultivated leader for the world.

In this episode, Pastor Brandon Cormier and Pastor James Neal give incredible insight into the theme of consecration. What does it mean to live set apart? How does our purity impact our spiritual authority? What connection does purpose have with purity? And in a world of "my truth" and "your truth," how do we stay centered on The Truth?

Pastor Brandon Cormier was born in the Cajun lands of Louisiana and raised by parents who were committed to serving God and the local church. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Brandon joined Youth With A Mission for 5 months of discipleship, training in hearing God’s voice, and serving on the mission fields of Calcutta, India, and Capetown, South Africa. This was a significant time that marked Brandon’s heart with a burning passion for intercession and leading environments of encounter. Brandon also earned his Master of Divinity from Oral Roberts University. During that season, Brandon married his best friend, Octavia, and the two have consistently labored side by side in discipling and mentoring young people both at church and in their home.

Since their beginning years of ministry, Brandon and Octavia have known that they would be involved somewhere in church ministry their entire lives. In the spring of 2018, they began to experience a “supernatural love” for Colorado Springs— the city in which all of their children were born–and where they served for five years in youth ministry. It was in that season that God made it abundantly clear that He was laying a burden for the city on their hearts.

After much counsel and prayer, Brandon and Octavia made the exciting decision to obey the call of God by launching a Spirit-empowered, life-giving church in order to reach those who are far from God. September 13th, 2020, Zeal Church launched with nearly 800 people in attendance. Each weekend, over 1,000 people gather in person to know God, experience freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference!

Pastor James Neal is a two time graduate of Oral Roberts University. James graduated with his undergraduate degree in Ministry & Leadership, and shortly after, received Master of Divinity degree. Upon graduating with his undergraduate degree, James married his wonderful wife Chynna – who is also a graduate of Oral Roberts University – and they both currently live in Colorado Springs, Colorado. James has been serving Pastor Brandon and Zeal Church since its’ founding in September 2022, and currently serves as the Pastor of Small Groups.

If you're a Christian young adult, you have probably been influenced by purity culture. Join my good friend James Neal and I in a conversation where we address common misconceptions about our sexuality as Christians because of some unhealthy aspects of the purity culture movement.

Things like . . .   You can only be pure if you're a virgin.  Women are responsible in controlling a man's lust.  Sex is automatically great if you save yourself for marriage.  If you remain pure, God will bless you with a "fairy tale love story." God will only love you if you are pure.

We discuss these ideas in depth and bring Scripture, our experiences, our perspective, while sharing some fun stories along the way.

As Christians, we understand that God created sex but so often we forget that sex was designed with specific purposes in mind. The culture around us would love us to believe that sex is cheap, but to God, our sexuality is valuable. Our Creator designed sex to fulfill three specific purposes in our lives and it is important to understand these purposes if we are to live with a healthy view of sexuality as young adults.

This episode will take a purely scientific and focused approach on three specific negative and damaging aspects of pornography. This content will not come from a basis of my Christian faith, but from scientific and conscious thought of how this industry is hurting people all around the world. Pornography is a disturbing and seductive force that is destroying lives and corrupting our culture. We must be made aware and educated on the damaging and harmful impact of pornography on our culture and people around the world. See the linked articles below for further information and ways to get involved in the fight.

To truly be free from the snare of sexual sin, we must first know our foundation of sonship. Many fight fortheir identity as a son or as a daughter, thinking if we’re good enough we can be a worthy son or daughter. This is an unbiblical fight - we cannot fight for our place in the family of God. We must fight from our place of understanding that we are sons and daughters, already redeemed and cleansed by the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. We must receive this, and then live from it. We must live FROM sonship, not FOR sonship.

"To be alive is to be vulnerable.” – Madeleine L’Engle

This episode gives you an honest and authentic bit of context for my story - my wrestle with pornography and lust - and how God's grace met me in my brokenness and redeemed me. Because of how this has shaped my life, I have a passion to see young adults learn to walk in sexual integrity. I hope you are encouraged and challenged by my story, and that you know that if Jesus did it for me, He can surely do it for you.
