After a brief break I'm back with the fourth installment of the Vibe Studies Mix Series. This one is 85 minutes and 36 tracks worth of halftime drum & bass. Characterized by its "every other snare" drum programming, halftime is an area of the genre that gained attention over the past few years and continues to innovate with respect to the vibes and production qualities. From tunes that sound like straight head nod beats to ones that explore the deeper, sci-fi techy influences to others that are strictly dubwise, this style has been one of my favorites for the last few years.

Welcome to the third installment of the Vibe Studies Mix Series! This mix clocks in at just under 2 hours and features over 50 tracks that sit at the intersection of liquid, rollers, and techy styles. In the 15+ years I've been DJing and making mixes, this style of drum & bass is probably the one I have the longest history with and it's good to be back exploring it. Welcome to the second installment of the Vibe Studies Mix Series! We are in a golden era of drum & bass music right now and I want to share the parts that are inspiring me. This mix is a comprehensive survey of the strain of drum & bass that is characterized by halftime drum programming, where the music is written in the 170-ish BPM range but the kick and snare are spread out to give more of a hip-hop or dub feeling. This is by far the most inspiring lineage of music for me right now as evidenced by what I've been making in the studio, several examples of which are included in this mix.

This style has gained a lot of popularity in the last few years, but people have been making drum & bass in this vein for a lot longer -- There are tracks in the mix that date back to 2005, and in my research for this mix I found tunes exhibiting this style from the 1990s.
