Harry Bowers brings to the Design team over thirty years of golf course design and construction experience, as well as experiences as a competing amateur player that have provided him with invaluable experience in design by having a thorough understanding of the necessary skills of shot making and playability.
In addition to working with legendary architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. as a design associate, Harry has developed his own design studio and works with PGA Hall of Fame Golfers Raymond Floyd and Curtis Strange. His collaborations coupled with the wealth of experience and knowledge gained through the more than seventy golf course projects he has been involved with are available to all Signature Design Services clients.
Brian Horn has been reporting on the green industry since 2010 when he joined Lawn & Landscape
magazine as an associate editor. He moved into the managing editor role in 2014 before being named
editor in 2017.
He started his writing career at Sun Newspapers, a weekly publication covering the Cleveland suburbs,
where he stayed for two years before joining the Sandusky Register, a daily newspaper located between
Toledo and Cleveland. From there, he wrote for Smart Business Magazine, where he interviewed top
executives from companies like Men’s Wearhouse and the Melting Pot and many other successful
organizations. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a journalism degree.

Kris Kiser, an attorney, is President & CEO of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI). OPEI is an international trade association representing the manufacturers of outdoor power equipment, small engines, utility vehicles, golf cars and personal transport vehicles. He is also Managing Partner of GIE+EXPO, the industry’s annual international trade show. Prior to joining OPEI, Kris served for 15 years in two major, Washington, DC trade associations representing automakers and the forest products industry. He was Vice President, State and
International Affairs for the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers and Vice President, GovernmentalAffairs for the American Forest & Paper Association.
Before joining the private sector he spent a decade as a staffer in the United States Senate and House of Representatives as a special assistant to noted international affairs expert Congressman Lee Hamilton. Hamilton served as Chairman of the Foreign Relations, Intelligence, and Joint Economic Committees during his tenure as well as Co-Chair of the 911 Commission and the Iran-Contra investigation. Kris is known as the “man behind the mutt” for his role in creating the TurfMutt Education Platform as head of the OPEI Education CEO; Research Foundation. He is a passionate proponent of animal rescue, rehabilitation and adoption. TurfMutt education has literally been used by tens of millions of students, teachers and families and is character based on his real life rescue pooch, Lucky the TurfMutt.
