69 - 'Lighting the Cheroot' | Carapace actual play ... basically a fight between PCs and giant ants ( Warning - some strong language).
History The session prior to this one is covered in Episode 61 (https://anchor.fm/ghench/episodes/61---Carapace-actual-play-ejd160) and on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3Z_ArIea9k&list=PLyeGjc78ASuJFRj3uRCKFP3YZ9FKCXoEC) and covers exploring the giant colony using a Hex Flower Game Engine. The session ended when the PCs found the Queen ant!
This episode Covers the ensuing fight, and so has no mechanistic meat. But still, it's a fight right? Did the PCs prevail?

Back in the day, I wrote an article for '& Magazine' in response to a question on G+ about "making half-elves more interesting". I'm not sure I'd present this idea this way these days, but here it is if you want to know more: Link: http://www.and-mag.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/and-mag-i13.pdf PS - In my eyes D&D is an escapist game, not the real-world. In 'Star Wars', 'Raiders of the Lost Arc' and 'Where Eagles Dare' the baddies are baddies, innately bad, and we don't question it (because it would spoil the escapism fun of it all).

I'm experimenting with playing online.
This is a play test of my procedural adventure 'Carapace'. It's not the only way to do it. My friend and play tester used 6 pre-gens from the module Tomb of the Lizard King. I wanted fairly high level characters for this play test to ensure that we got to test as much out as possible.

I think everyone probably remember MAD Magazine, and in particular the inside back cover, which often had a picture which would fold-in to form a new unexpected picture.
I talk about how to use this concept in gaming, especially used on a sea adventure ...

Back to the Blog episode - where I look back at one of my previous blog post, ... BUT in this case presented in audio format. In this episode I look back at a post I did about making any composite die from two dice. Link: https://goblinshenchman.wordpress.com/2019/01/09/die-from-two-dice/
Had this idea for a crowd-sourced audio dungeon. The idea bring people leave a message which are 1 minute or shorter detailing a room, location, corridor, fresco etc. In a fantasy dungeon. It might be helpful to think of such message as audible “box text”. I might keep this as a living document, updating it as messages come in. Sending a message means that you accept that the content is Creative Commons.
Random idea, possibly steering into the pretentious - is it possible to make Haiku dungeon - possibly collaborative, possibly retro-haikuing a classic module ... ?
Just rambling about three ideas :: Excel mapping :: UNO cards as a Star Trek initiate system :: Player input location prompts
