Old Dogs is back after a longish break, Ollie meets up with his old friend Simon Rudland, somewhere in the Far North!
A big splash to kick-off Season 2 of the Old Dogs podcast, Ollie catches up with Australian rugby legend & former Wallabies vice-captain Berrick Barnes to discuss the new tricks that the old dogs of professional sport have to learn to keep themselves solvent and sane.
The tables turn on Ollie as Julie Hunt takes the mic and interviews him about his quarantine experiences in Australia
Tom Gibb has spent the last decade in Japan and while he and I share many similar experiences and a similar love for all things Japanese, one thing we don’t seem to have in common is his ability with language. Tom actually has two new tricks, one is a love and learning of the Japanese language including his ability to now work as a translator. The other is that he is writing a book about a cycling trip around Japan. I caught up with Tom as he was trying to get this, his first book, published, and also thinking about his career direction.
Tris Lovering (aka @colourbricks) is an amateur London street photographer who has amassed a large following on Instagram and caught the attention of photographic magazines. His instinctive approach to photographing people and places around the city has created a fabulous gallery of colour and joy. As a keen photographer himself, Ollie really enjoys meeting Tris on a park bench and sharing some anecdotes over a mulled wine in a very locked down London.
Thank you to Thea Kyrin-White for this inspired episode title!

A panoramic episode about the ancient practice of yoga. Ollie gets a report from the field from his old friend Julie Flood-Hunt in Switzerland and then interviews two yoga teachers, one based in Singapore and one in Brisbane.
Lizzie Minhas took up painting and drawing as an adult and while she is in a hiatus with a young baby at the moment, we talk about what it is like to take on something new and challenging as an adult. As usual, I try to compare my guests experience with my own attempts to learn the piano. We find an interesting connection in the form of mistakes, both accidental and deliberate.
Check out some of Lizzie's art on the Old Dogs Youtube Channel here:

Rosie Sharpe has taken up the piano a little later than usual, same as her host! We compare notes on learning methods and find while we have quite different approaches, our appreciation and enjoyment is quite similar. Check out the Old Dogs Youtube Channel here:

Russ Green lives in California and started learning to fly at the age of 57. I wanted to understand why he took on such a challenge at that age and how it has affected his life.
