In today’s episode, we are going to continue our discussion on Blended Families – Soups or Salads And specifically, how blended families affect the children. In our previous episode on blended families, we stated that stepfamily studies suggest about 60 to 70 percent of marriages involving children from a previous marriage fail. Since about 46% of marriages are what we consider to be nuclear families, that means 54% of families are some kind of alternate families.

Even though blended families are very common, there are still challenges that affect both the marriage and the children if there are any. They can be soups or salads. Are they soup where you can't really tell what's in it, but it still tastes good, or salads, where every thing is tossed together and you can still see all of the individual parts?
