We all have a superpower and it's called Free Will! But in order to access that power, we have to actively acknowledge and choose it. Track 23 - a track with a smooth reggae/r&b vibe, explores how our free will allows us to respond rather than react to stressful life situations. It also requires us to cultivate self-awareness and take ownership of our lives. Reacting to challenges leaves us on the back foot and very often stressed out, whereas responsiveness allows us to take considered actions in our favour. Tune in to hear the full track and hear Yve Anmore eloquently share the deeper meaning and teaching behind it.

"Burning Up" this week's upbeat and funky track is about when it's time to release a deeply embedded pattern of behaviour and birth into a more expansive you. This process can feel like burning up, burning away that pattern, and be experienced as a mixture of "Ow!" and "Wow!" But it's ultimately a deeply healing process. Tune in to hear why author, songwriter, and spiritual life coach, Yve Anmore almost gave up on this week's track and this week's episode and how that turned into an opportunity to learn the lesson behind the track. She also asks questions about how you may be going through a similar process and how you can choose to embrace, or fight, the experience. Using music to explore complex themes and share spiritual principles is one of the many ways Yve chooses to live her purpose.

Author, songwriter, and spiritual life coach, Yve Anmore shares this week's track and the story and teaching behind it. "Integrate Your Inner State," asks how can we celebrate who we are until we really know who we are? And the only way to really know who we are is to investigate the coded patterns, parental and societal conditioning, and sometimes traumas, that dictate our daily lives. Only through this knowing, can we step into our power. "Integrate Your Inner State" is a mix of Caribbean, Afrobeat, and Latin rhythms, blended with jazzy piano chords, and a soulful lead vocal. Using music to explore complex themes and share spiritual principles is one of the many ways Yve Anmore chooses to live her purpose.

Reborn - is a track in 2 parts and it led Yve on an introspective inner journey because it insisted it be allowed to be what it is. She shares how she initially struggled to get to grips with the major contrasts in rhythm, feel and sound between the verses and the chorus. Yve also shares how two female artists (Eska and Amahla) caused her to wish she had dedicated her life to her craft. Then she dives deep into the deeper meaning and teaching behind the track.

An Afro-Caribbean-beat Conscious Love Song? Seems that way! Sticking with the Conscious Love theme and Afrobeat vibe, Yve Anmore explores the difference between a Conscious and Intentional Love Relationship and your 'date/get married/have children/age/die' familiar trope. The track has simple (but conscious) lyrics, and a light, rhythmic, playful energy that incorporates afrobeat rhythms with a hint of Caribbean flavour and Yve's usual soulful vocals. Tune in to hear why Yve would rather spend eternity alone rather than engage in an unconscious love relationship again!

This week's track is called "Everybody's Fronting." It's another style departure for Yve Anmore and the first mixed and mastered track in the challenge (mastered by Neks.) She just felt moved to master this track. In this episode, she shares why she's finding the song challenge so nurturing and the changes she's thinking of making to her podcast platform to make it a more nurturing experience too. This week's track has a jazzy-ambient guitar and a simple bossa nova type rhythm juxtaposed with conscious lyrics, staccato lead vocals and minimalist backing vocals whose style was influenced by mumble rap of all things. We're in double digits! Woohoo! This week's track is called "Let It Rain Down (Your Blessings)" and paradoxically Yve shares how she's had a really sh*tty week, not feeling at all motivated or blessed. The irony is that it is exactly the type of scenario she deals with on the regular. You can't just talk the talk, you have to walk the walk, and that's what the song challenge combined with the daily pressures and challenges of 'real life' are bringing as new lessons for Yve to embrace. Can she have faith that her blessings will arrive, even when it looks like nothing's happening!

This week's track, track 9 is Everything is Energy. In this episode, Yve Anmore shares the latest track from her song challenge. The song challenge not only supports her creative and professional development as an artist, but she's also learning it supports, her spiritual development too - giving her the opportunity to reaffirm and teach deep spiritual principles in an engaging way. Yve shares how she decided to 'spit some bars' in the vernacular of young folk, on this track. How much fun it is to go against what women of a certain age are supposed to do and be, and how much fun she had discovering that she was no Kanye, Jay Z, Lil' Wayne or Missy Elliot so she'd better just be herself. Tune in to hear the deep message behind the track and remember to like review and share the episodes.

This week's track "You Got It Babe" a powerful ballad, is about going through some of the toughest times in your life, even feeling maybe that life or God is against you when in actuality your inner wisdom or God is telling you, "You got it babe." and "I've got your back." And unless we really allow ourselves to feel our deep sadness or frustration we're not really going to be able to hear that empowering inner voice or feel that profound love, that is trying to support us no matter what we're going through. Yve Anmore is an author, singer/songwriter podcaster and spiritual life coach and of course, The Bajan Empress. She makes music for pleasure and creative fulfilment but now, she's challenging herself to write one new song every single week for a year! Follow her on this journey to musical nirvana, well more like musical mayhem, but either way, it's going to be a great challenge.
A reminder of the song-challenge parameters: It has to be a complete song not just lyrics, but it doesn't have to be professionally recorded, mixed and mastered. Can she do it? Well, we've hypothetically got 52 weeks to find out!

Song Challenge, track 6: InHer Space. This track is a new departure for Yve Anmore. It's so different to the music she usually creates, that she suspects that it will be a difficult listen for some. Nonetheless, she follows her heart and goes with it. Its rhythmic, tribal, repetitive pattern with discordant harmonies and spacey guitar, was inspired by watching a documentary on Fela Kuti and being inspired by his writing process. The lyrics are spoken word, a profound prose poem that Yve wrote many years ago, backed by a haunting vocal arabic-inspired lament. It's definitely epic, but is it pleasing?
