As a Financial Coach, I help people understand WHY they do, WHAT they do with their money, which is key to changing their relationship and behavior with money. I talk about understanding your own money story and money personality and how these impact your behavior. Then I share the specific tactics I used that allowed me to go from confused to confident with my money! I share how to pay off debt faster, how to create and stick to a budget that respects how you want to live and how to build a strong financial foundation.
Alissa went from being a divorced and broke single mom in her 30s to being financially able to retire in her early 50s! Her financial transformation happened because she mastered both her mindset and behavior with money. She’s now part of the Financial Coaching team of Money Mentor Group, which helps people understand their money mindset, pay off debt, create a budget that respects how they want to live, and become financially confident.

Chris was a ski racer at Middlebury College when he fell in a ski accident, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. Chris was back skiing within a year, and went on to become one of the most decorated mono-skiers of all time. When Chris retired as a professional athlete, he summited Mt. Kilimanjaro on a hand cycle, in an effort to turn perception of disability upside down. He is the first paraplegic to summit Mt Kilimanjaro, nearly unassisted, on a hand cycle. Chris’ journey lives on through the documentary 1Revolution.
Chris’ genuine, personal and considerate delivery aims to connect and instruct, something he sought even as a competitor. As he became the fastest monoskier in the world, he and his female counterpart started a monoski instructional camp to help others unlock their potential without enduring the pain and frustration that they had. Members of those camps went on to win National, World Championship and Paralympic medals.
When he attempted to become the first unassisted paraplegic to summit Mt Kilimanjaro, he stood on the shoulders of his heroes to turn the impossible into reality and give others the courage to confront their fears to live and perform most fully. The climb wasn’t without incident. His team had to carry him up a boulder field, but that “failure” allowed him to separate from the obligation to be a superhero—to be honest, vulnerable and to find his real power. In 2015, he published his first book Things I Want to Remember Not to Forget, inspired by his Middlebury College Commencement Address. The following year, he taught himself to draw and wrote and illustrated his first children’s book, Is It Lonely to be a Four-Leaf Clover? He has appeared on Dateline, Oprah, and 20/20 as well as providing color commentary for the Paralympics on NBC and being one of People Magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People.”
Chris just did a second run of his "Things I Want to Remember Not to Forget" book and just last month, he returned to NBC's coverage of the Paralympics, handling Opening, Closing and Skiing analysis as well as some host responsibilities.
A popular keynote speaker, Chris helps audiences become champions of their businesses, their worlds and themselves. He has spoken to nearly every industry and kind of audience—from Fortune 500 Companies to non-profits, from sales groups to venture capitalists and engineers. He inspires audiences to consider how seemingly ordinary people can achieve the impossible.

For as far back as she can remember Teresa has always been passionate about the power of good communication. In fact, it was an incident that happened in her formative years that truly shaped the trajectory of her life.
When Teresa was in grade school in the late 1950s, she was punished for talking out of turn in class (I know we were shocked too!). The teacher decided that her “punishment” was to be seated next to the only African American child in the class. Teresa certainly didn’t see this as much of a punishment for herself, but even at that young age she was acutely aware of how humiliating this must have been for the other child. That incident was the beginning of her commitment to seeing things from other peoples’ perspectives, and the power of both verbal, and non-verbal communication.
Whether guiding business leaders to reach new heights, coaching individuals to increase results by bettering their presentation skills or mentoring women of all ages, Teresa works with joyful determination to ensure her clients leave their time together challenged, and in an enhanced position to reach their goals. Teresa has found there are certain universal principles that work consistently. “When we communicate from the best of who we are,” she says, “from what’s most important to us, we inspire ourselves and we can inspire others. There’s communication, not just data exchange.”
When we look at the depth and diversity of Teresa’s entrepreneurial experiences, we often joke that it appears she has had many incarnations. She has done everything from running a successful gourmet cheesecake business from her home (yes, she was head baker too!), to running a company that offered high-end video production services to corporate clients. No matter what the business she quickly recognized that her success was rooted in good communication.
After many years of consulting with her corporate clients, Teresa realized companies needed help with their messaging, marketing and overall communication strategy, so she formed Connect To The Core Inc. because she truly believes at the core of all success is great communication, and at the core of all great communication is connection.
It is over 35 years since she started, and Teresa has helped thousands of individuals and hundreds of companies reach their goals. She is now in her element, creating original solutions to complex issues for her clients to become their best selves and achieve remarkable results.
Teresa was born and raised in Michigan and lived throughout the US for many years. She currently splits her time between her home in Toronto, Canada and her farm in Northern Michigan.

Stephen Kavalkovich helps us get a balanced start to 2022 by joining me again after more than four years. Stephen was originally a guest on episode 23 of the podcast on September 7, 2017, and it is great to catch up and learn more about his progress and path in life.
Stephen is a man who has been given the gift of many experiences throughout his life...
"For most of my adult life, I was a 911 Paramedic. I also had the honor of serving as a rescue worker at the World Trade Center on 9-11-01 in NYC.
I have seen tragedy and suffering first hand for many years. Little was I aware that I was the one who needed the saving. Through seeking peace within by using all things external, I wound up desperate, broken and destroyed in every way.
I am now grateful to be a man in long term recovery from substance abuse and destitution. My goal is simple, to use my experience to connect and give you a voice."
Stephen’s “soul” purpose is to utilize every experience he has had in this earthly existence to heal others. While our struggles, trials, and tribulations connect us, he would like to help remind you who you really are.

In 2001, Scott Sunderland found himself lying in a hospital bed, unable to move any part of his body. In just three days, he had gone from a very capable, athletic man to being completely paralyzed with a mind full of fear. However, Scott believed he was greater than just his body, and he used that power throughout the next year to teach himself how to literally walk out of that room and into a new life.
“The Freedom Project has given me the tools and support to help me create the life I really want.”
However, on July 27th, 2012, Scott’s world came crashing down once again while walking on a beach with his best friend and three children. The sand collapsed under their feet, throwing them into a current, fighting for their lives. Scott made it to shore only to watch his best friend, Brad, take his last breath before a wave washed over him and he was gone. This experience left Scott completely broken and searching. For the next five years, he yearned for Brad’s forgiveness, only to realize that it was his own that he was searching for. Scott made a promise to live an inspired life for both Brad and himself.
Scott left a life that wasn’t serving him and stepped into the power that he realized he always was. Today, Scott has kept his promise and tells his stories as triumphs. Teaching others that all their limitations, failures, sicknesses, losses, and addictions are just there to show them the door to their own greatness. Scott strives to inspire, motivate, and empower people and help them realize they are the victor just waiting to be uncovered.

Dr. John Jaquish developed an interest in life sciences when his mother was diagnosed with osteoporosis. With a desire to help his mother avoid the side-effect inducing medications designed to treat the disease, he began his research. As he progressed through his research, he realized that it was really a dysfunction of disuse and a lot of what are called ‘diseases of aging’ are really just diseases of not doing what you need to be doing to stay alive.
Like exercise, moving around, keeping a decent heart rate, good blood flow, good airflow. All these diseases of aging really don’t have much to do with aging. It just has to do with disuse. With that, he set out on a mission to find a group of people who are outliers, who were able to build bone density, higher than anyone else? Super-human bone.
He went and identified this audience immediately. It was gymnasts. It’s because of the rate at which they hit the ground–they sometimes get 10 times their body weight loaded through their hip joints and their lower extremities.
He then built a device that emulates high impact and in that emulation of high impact, induces a change in bone density. Eventually, Dr. Jaquish created a set of medical devices that compressed bone and now there are 130 clinics around the world that are just for this. It’s called OsteoStrong and they are in eight different countries.

Michelle is a speaker, author, coach, entrepreneur, and an ever-evolving Badass Leader. The people-part can be the most challenging for many leaders. It certainly was for her. Her wake-up call came in the form of a cataclysmic leadership failure. She very quickly learned to appreciate the profound impact an unconscious leader has on people, teams, and organizational health and performance.
The significance and value of a team became abundantly clear, as did the critical importance and necessity for her to immediately begin evolving as a leader. This painfully humbling experience (which she affectionately refers to as #TheSuck) set the course correction for what would become a lifelong hunger for leadership growth and contribution - a self prescribed reparation in many ways, shared through her 12 Leadership Lessons.
Early in her leadership journey, she was an absolute ASS as a boss, oblivious to the impact she was having on people! Perhaps, like many of you, she didn’t understand how to lead. Michelle looks forward to sharing her thrills of victory & agonies of defeat, with a goal of helping you unlock the art of leading like a Badass!

Jonny Cooper is a British entrepreneur, piano player, international racing driver and a business coach who grew his own business to 8-figures, then exited and founded JonnyHatesMarketing.com, helping coaches, trainers and therapists find more of their ideal clients, more easily.
He’s also the voice behind the legendary Jonny Hates Marketing Facebook Group, and swears that he really, really does. Hate marketing, that is.
Jonny Hates Marketing came from the revelation that the average coaching revenue around the world is less than $30k. This means that so many gifted and inspiring entrepreneurs are not achieving the impact they and their clients deserve, because they’re no good at marketing. These guys are often great at delivery, but lousy at finding enough of their ideal clients to make a living out of it.”
Jonny Cooper is making it his mission to change this.

Aaron Powell has always enjoyed biking, but it was on a trip to Sweden that he fell in love with a new kind of bike. Unlike traditional bikes that allowed for additional riders to be carried behind the primary rider or towed behind in a wagon or trailer, these bikes allowed for additional riders to be carried in cargo boxes on the front of the bike.
As a new father, Aaron immediately fell in love with the setup since it allowed for a new biking experience for him and his family!
Upon returning to the states, Aaron set out to find a similar bike that he and his family could enjoy in their home city in North Texas, but sadly he could not find anything even remotely similar. This is when the entrepreneur in him kicked into high gear and he founded Bunch Bikes!
The following few years culminated with a recent appearance on Shark Tank where he managed to strike a deal with fellow biking enthusiast, Barbara Corcoran. But, it didn't end there. Little did we see or know that another shark came in on the deal as well!!
This is a great episode that demonstrates what you can accomplish with a unique value proposition and being prepared when entering into an environment where you need to stand out in a crowded market place!!

Katie Brinkley is the owner of a boutique social media marketing agency in Littleton, CO. tucked ever so nicely just outside of Denver.
Katie has always been involved in social media in some fashion...afterall, it is her dream job.
Landing her dream job is something that seems to come quite naturally to Katie. Straight out of college, she landed her first dream job as a sports reporter for one of the top radio stations in Denver. Not only did she get to pursue her journalistic adventures, she was able get front row seats to every sporting event in the area! How cool was that?
After a few years as a flight attendant, a job she landed somewhat on accident, she landed her second dream job...she was now a marketing manager for a massive media company in charge of social media, script writing and event planning. But, mergers and acquisitions brought an end to this chapter of her dream jobs as well.
Now, Katie finds herself living out her passion for media as a freelance social media expert. Katie's company, Next Step Social Communications provides a variety of services from training and coaching entrepreneurs on the finer points of social media, to full blown, done for you social media management.

Many speakers who claim to be “onions” – i.e. wrapped in mystical and magical layers of enigmatic meaning – have their metaphors mixed up, because they’re typically nothing but smoke and mirrors; get too close, and it’s all style and no substance.
Steve ain’t no onion.
What you see IS what you get. And what you see and get is a man who you’d probably avoid making eye contact with in an alley — or anywhere else for that matter. After all, a shaved head, Harley Davidson garb and body piercings on a 5’ 11”, 240 lb. frame don’t scream “let’s be friends!”
But that’s the irony of it all, because despite his gruff exterior, Steve is remarkably open, engaging, generous, intuitive, insightful and competent – and he’s leveraged all of this to build a remarkably successful entrepreneurial career.

Emily Coffman is the host of Girls Gone Healthy Podcast. Emily developed an amazing idea for a podcast when she realized how many girls, just like herself were struggling when it came to working out, eating right, and feeling confident in their body. Our bodies are constantly changing and fluctuating and no one has taught us how to adapt to these changes. Instead they tell us to burn more calories and try the new latest diet. - Emily Coffman
Emily was a Division 1 athlete at the University of Oklahoma and honestly, living a very unhealthy lifestyle. She thought she was healthy because she was constantly active and could eat whatever she wanted without gaining weight. (I remember those days too!) But truth is, Emily didn’t know how to train without over working herself or how to properly fuel her body.
Emily's podcast is her way of bringing affordable (it’s free!) and accessible health and fitness information to everyone. In this episode, we hear from her as she guides us through her journey of a girl gone healthy!
Daniel Herscovici is a child of immigrants, his mom and dad both escaped adversity in communist Romania in the 60’s, with nothing more than the clothes in their suitcases. They met and made a home in New York City where his dad, with little English, slowly made the American dream a reality.
He got his start as a taxi driver and shoemaker and slowly progressed to business owner. EXPOSING MY SELF-HATRED, SAVED MY LIFE. By the end of 2008, Karen was done. The wicked darkness that consumed her soul fed the bottomless pit of emptiness that she’d felt her entire life. The only way to stop the bleeding of wretched blackness was to kill herself...
Karen Love Lee was born depressed, which went undiagnosed by every counselor and therapist she desperately sought help from.
“Untreated depression is the number one cause of suicide.” — Suicide.org
From a very young age, Karen knew death was inevitable, so why bother suffering through life until then? Futility and hopelessness were her co-conspirators, faithfully accompanying her throughout her journey of pointlessness….
With the “Death Card” in her little-girl hip pocket, suicidal tendencies were unconsciously fated. We can’t prevent what we cannot see….Decades later, unknowingly this would become her #BestKeptSecret to healing, happiness, and best of all #SelfLove!

Scott Page is an American musician, technologist, and entrepreneur known for his saxophone and rhythm guitar work with Pink Floyd, Supertramp, and Toto. Page is also an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music, in the Music Industry program.
He is currently CEO of Think:EXP, a Los Angeles-based media company focused on live immersive entertainment.
As Pink Floyd prepared for their first tour in a new incarnation, Gilmour and Mason began looking for musicians that could add a combination of musical skills and "showmanship" in an effort to put across more energy in the band's stage show. Page was hired and immediately joined the band in Toronto, Ontario, Canada for rehearsals. Page played for the duration of the A Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour with the exception of the band's last performance under that tour's umbrella: an isolated, special performance at Knebworth Park on June 30, 1990. Despite being cast as part of the A Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour, the Knebworth Park date took place nearly one year after the preceding tour date and included a number of guest musicians that were not part of the band's regular recording and touring team.
Mason referred to Scott Page as "another stage show in his own right." Page "would be rendered instantly recognizable to fans in even the cheapest stadium seats by his lavish mullet hairstyle." As Pink Floyd historian Mark Blake illustrates in Pigs Might Fly: The Inside Story of Pink Floyd, the band was specifically looking to add "the presence of younger and more flamboyant band members" and Page was a good fit with his "elaborately coiffured" look and a willingness to participate to the fullest extent possible in the band's live performance (often adding the texture of an additional rhythm guitar between saxophone performances). Producer Bob Ezrin would later state that Page "came with the territory;" the band meant for it "to be a more visual show."
He is featured in the television documentary and live concert Pink Floyd in Venice and the Pink Floyd Delicate Sound of Thunder concert film, both which document the band's A Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour. Delicate Sound of Thunder was also released as an album.

Jason Mendelsohn is 50 years old. He’s been happily married for over 23 years to his wife Ronni, and they have three awesome kids, boy/girl twins that are 18 and a 12 year old son.
Jason’s cancer story began back in April 2014 while taking a financial exam. He placed his hand on his neck to ponder a question, and felt a bump.
He immediately called his Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) after passing the exam, and was told that because he was not a smoker or drinker that he could see the doctor over the next few weeks. Three business days later Jason saw his doctor and he placed him on ten days of antibiotics and steroids, and scheduled him for a needle biopsy and CT Scan, in case the bump didn't go away.
After returning from a quick vacation to the Florida Keys & a business trip to DC, Jason had the needle biopsy and CT scan. Three days later, without any symptoms except the bump on his neck, he received the scary diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma of the right tonsil, ultimately being diagnosed as stage 4 HPV related tonsil cancer. His doctors shared that they believe he got the HPV virus in college over 25 years ago.

Give this a listen, and then go and find Homewrecker and be prepared to laugh out loud!

Cam Cowen is a former law professional, turned award winning director. His film, Madagasikara will demonstrate that his new career path was a wise choice.
In 2009, fed up with increased poverty and widespread corruption, Madagascar's citizens took to the streets in protest. After the president was forced to resign, the international community terminated most foreign assistance to this chronically impoverished island nation. Over 60% of the country's revenues were immediately wiped out, resulting in the dramatic curtailment of education, health care, sanitation and access to food.
MADAGASIKARA offers us a look at an island we don't know, past the serene beaches and the lovable, profitably animated wildlife, into the perilous lives of three strong, tireless mothers working to create better futures for their children.
After four years of filming and post-production, MADAGASIKARA had a successful film festival run in 2018 and 2019 and is now in distribution.
The film will be available 6/26 on Amazon Prime and other distributors. For more information check out the official website.

Most people have beautiful dreams deep inside—the things they would like to have, the relationships they’d love to enjoy, and the wellness and well-being that would help them express their best, in every way. But often those dreams lie buried inside us. Hidden by fear or unworthiness or a lack of awareness of what could be. Asking is the only language to which the Universe can deliver a solution, understanding, illumination, or plan.
There are three distinct channels through which we can ask:
Ask Yourself
Ask Others
Ask God
You were born with a destiny. Your job is to discover it. Once you begin to practice the art and science of asking to discover your destiny and start to move toward it, you can manifest innumerable blessings for yourself and others.
As part of the ongoing TikTok series, this week we welcome TikTok Influencer and American Sign Language advocate (ASL), Bella Pivo. Bella has roughly 116k followers on the platform that continues to stump many adults. Oh, did I mention she’s a Junior in high school?
Now, don’t let her age fool you, Bella is wise beyond her years and an accomplished student and human being. She uses her influence to spread her message of ASL far and wide across the Tokosphere.
Interestingly enough, Bella keeps TikTok as simple as possible. She’s not one to jump into challenges or use a bunch of cuts in her videos. I love this because that reinforces the idea that you can keep things basic and still establish a significant following.
You can find Bella at @bella.pivo on TikTok as well as Instagram.
It started off as something just for kids, then tweens jumped on board. Now, some of the leaders in the marketing space say it's a must have. Let's take a closer look at TikTok. Alexis Romero is a TikTok influencer! Alexis has over 600k followers on the platform and that number continues to grow every day. What is it about what she does that garners this level of attention?
You do not need to be a content creator or brand marketing expert to know about TikTok. It's the hottest social media app out there right now and it gives unprecedented creative freedom to those that are brave enough to put themselves out there in videos.
If you have any other social media experience, it will remind you of Vine. You can shoot, edit, and post videos on the app of you being you! I often talk about being unique, being yourself and establishing your brand and there's not a platform that is as fun and exciting as TikTok.
This episode is from a speaking engagement I had recently where I answered a number of questions regarding the value of a community.
I cover the value of a community, the various types of communities that we can share, why people join a community and finally, why you NEED a community for your brand, or your podcast!

I share a sweet story of being on a podcast earlier today. It was an amazing experience and I was honored to be on the Impact Heroes Podcast! Can't wait to share the episode with you all!
In case you forgot, I felt it was my responsibility to remind you that it isn't too late to still snag that sweet little someone of yours a Valentine's Day card or better yet...gift. Who knows? You may like what your spouse gets you too! *wink
We know we can't leave things all sappy so I hit you with a question that has to do with common courtesy, adults throwing tantrums and who was right or wrong in this scenario I present. Be sure you let me know.
Well, tonight started off a bit rough, but things improved dramatically after our first attempt was cut short due to good ol' Frontier internet service doing what it does best...dropping. So, I am in search of a robust, but not professional level video editing program and I was hoping to get a little word of mouth about one that someone listening may know of. Then, we round out the conversation with a discussion about the power of word of mouth advertising. It's a good quick convo on a topic that can help us all.
So many of us were "bullied" as kids from my generation, that it is looked at as a right of passage. But, does it need to be? Is that part of paying your dues? Does the fear of paying your dues keep you from trying new things?

It's been an unexpected start to another exciting week! First, I managed to have another article published in the Podcast Business Journal. This article talks about turning laughter into downloads. I'm not trying to turn anyone into a comedian, but more than a few shows out there could benefit from an occasional laugh or two. Next up, I made a rather sudden decision to sign up for Podfest next month in Orlando! I've wanted to go, but had already resigned myself to next year. But, with the full support of my manager (wife) I jumped on the chance! It's going to be a blast! You can check out my article at the link below... https://podcastbusinessjournal.com/turn-laughter-into-downloads/
On this episode I bring you up to speed on the latest with the Raptor purchase and even more interestingly my freakin health! I can't catch a freakin' break here! I mean, I'm not falling apart, but I just want to chill out for a bit! After my pity party, I don't really have a pity party, but after my pity party, I share some of what I learned on a webinar I attended last night covering the legalities of Intellectual Property. I don't even charge for my legal advice!
I've got a need. It's a need to slide behind the wheel of a gorgeous Ford Raptor with a white exterior and a sport grey interior. It wouldn't be the smartest purchase, but since when do I do the smart thing? We also talk about being the subject matter expect and what all that implies. Of course, I present my take on it with the typical Larry flair!
We lost one of the greatest ever today, just before going live with the recording of this episode. He is, was and always will be the original...Spartacus! We talk about Pickleball...pickle what? You read that right, Pickleball. I'm looking forward to getting old enough to play myself. We also talk about how an ability to adapt and evolve will allow us to accomplish more than we ever imagined! And now...it's time for the Main Event!!
This episode is filled with the usual high brow entertainment that only your sophisticated palates can appreciate! I'm also sending out a plea for help that only you all can provide! I need real sugar free snack options, like dried fruit, snack bars and other sugar free alternatives. If you have any suggestions, hit me up! I'd love to hear from you!
One business coach has forged his approach to helping entrepreneurs and business executives by using a monumental personal failure and eventual redemption to help get others where they need to go to find their personal success and fulfillment. At just 18 years old, Miha Matlievski, a Slovenian high school dropout, dreamed of becoming a successful entrepreneur. And he pursued it with a passion, putting in 12 years of hard work that resulted in four successful businesses and a personal net worth of $15M. But in December 2009, an unexpected call from his bank, which had decided to foreclose on his real estate investments, brought his world crashing down around him. That one negative event instigated an avalanche of ruin for him and his businesses, resulting in his four, once-successful companies going bankrupt. We present his story in this episode of the podcast! Learn more about Miha at http://fail.coach
On this episode we talk about time and how it seems to operate differently these days. We talk Superbowl, mostly half time show.
And I share a moment that I'm not proud of, but that could have landed me in some HOT water, even if the accusation wasn't true!
