This nation is descending deeper into chaos and we’re beginning to realize that we’re not going to change the turmoil that’s in the world. The things about the world, things about our lives have to become second to Kingdom things. Yield to His voice. Say and do as He says. God makes promises in His Word or directly to us that our emotional man can easily reject if the promise doesn’t come to pass quickly enough to satisfy our carnal thinking. Our faith needs to be strong enough to hold to the promise even when the enemy tells us over and over that God won’t do what He said and our carnal thoughts tell us to fix the issue in they physical realm. If we couldn’t lose our salvation, why won’t Satan leave us alone? It’s his plan to stop us before we’re finished. Christianity is a difficult choice, full of hardship and trials, but God will lead us through safely. Scripture: 2 Cor 11:12-12:5
Spreading the Gospel isn’t about us telling people. It’s about living a life of peace and righteousness in front of others so they seek what we have. In order to do that, we have to get our appetites under God’s dominion and learn to say “no”. We can’t do that in our own will, but through His Spirit living in us. The Dispensation of the Gospel has been committed to us according to the Word. What better way to reveal Jesus to the world than to live like Him? It can’t be done in confrontation or self-righteousness, but as the Spirit leads in empathy, walking in ways that avoid offense and that draw men to the love He manifests to us and through us. It had been 16 years from the end of the exile to Haggai. People returned with a desire to rebuild Jerusalem and the temple. They had the government and the priesthood, but didn’t have a prophet.
