Today Pastor Bill Teaches from Mark 4:1-20
Pastor Bill leads us in the sermon detailing the beginning of Mark chapter 4. In it Jesus' uses his famous Parable of the Sower to explain to his followers about how spreading his word really works. Jesus details that some, those within fertile soil will receive the word and produce a crop of followers almost 10 fold. Others, those on a path or dealing with the thorns and worries of the world, will hear the word but not receive it thus not producing a crop. The word is spread to as many as possible, thus giving all the ability to move to fertile soil or remain on the rocks, missing out on his gift but still having the chance to receive it.

With Jesus reminding them that he is here to teach them to repent, not to affirm their ways. Pastor Brad then delves into the second in which Jesus gives the first example of his death, and uses the new wine parable to help them understand that the sinners must become new righteous people so they can walk with him in eternal life. In the final chapter Jesus reminds the Pharisees that he is Lord and that the Sabbath is for rest, not for judgment.

Paul's Letter to the Corinthians continues its warnings about the false teachers in this passage. Paul begins to tell the church about his own suffering, and reluctantly boasting as it makes him uncomfortable, because the Lord would not boast about himself so freely. Jesus' Final Week of ministry is upon us. During his time in Jerusalem he has developed a routine of teaching in the mornings, and praying on the olive mount in the evenings. Pastor James takes us into his teachings during this trying time, most of with deal with the signs of trying times.

Jesus has entered Jerusalem. Following the events of Palm Sunday, Jesus decided to preach the Gospel within the temple courts. This was much to the dismay of the chief priests. Pastor Brad helps us dive deeper into the parables Jesus uses to navigate the religious leader's questioning, and inform them of things to come.
As we continue to follow Jesus on his journey to Jerusalem, we finally make it to Jericho, the last stop before the main objective. Soon after we learn of the tax collector Zacchaeus and Jesus's need of him. Pastor James takes us deeper into this encounter, and teaches about the parable Jesus mentions' thereafter. Trying to prepare his disciples for what's ahead.
Still on the path to Jerusalem, Jesus is approached by a young wealthy ruler, whom asks how to gain eternal life. Jesus uses the moment to teach, and shows the disciples and the crowds how hard it is for the rich to enter heaven. Pastor Brad leads us deeper into this passage, and also into Jesus' healing the blind beggar Bartimaeus.
In this sermon, Jesus is still nearing Jerusalem, and continuing his teaching via parables. Pastor Brad navigates us through the parables of the persistent widow and a tax collector, two unlikely examples that are used to convey how great God's love is. Afterward we see many children brought forth to Jesus, whom he embraces openly stating, "The kingdom of God belongs to ones such as these".
This week we continue to follow Jesus as he nears Jerusalem. During this current passage, his focus is on preparing the crowds, and more importantly the 12 disciples, for his eventual death. He educates them about forgiveness, humility and gratefulness when he is approached by lepers.
Still returning to our Luke series, Pastor James returns us to the book of Luke, where the disciple is describing another of Jesus' parables. In this parable, a rich man is sent to hell, but Lazarus , a poor beggar covered in sores, is sent to heaven upon his death. Pastor explains that without context, this parable can be misleading,
In the first sermon of 2024 we finish up our Christmas flashback portion of the Luke series. Pastor Brad dives deep into the visit of the Three Magi or "Wisemen" from the east, and the details around King Herod finding out about Jesus.

As Jesus and his disciples are on their way south toward Jerusalem, Jesus is still doubted by others, most notably an "expert" in the law. Pastor Brad takes us through how Jesus navigates the encounter. Later Jesus and co. visit a woman named Martha and her sister, Mary, and help them focus on what needs to be focused on the most.

He does not chastise this woman and instead forgives her of her sins, to the dismay of the dinner guests of course.
In this weeks sermon Jesus continues his miracles. Meanwhile an imprisoned John the Baptist learns of this, so he sends his disciples to ask "If he is the one to come?" Essentially doubting Jesus. Pastor James guides us to understand Jesus's response to John.
This week's sermon is about recognizing Authority. A Roman Centurion, a person whom was usually is at odds with the Jews, sends his servants to Jesus so that he can heal one of is own. A feat that amazes Jesus, and shows that the centurion recognizes his authority as a member of the trinity. Shortly afterward Jesus enters the small town of Nain, in which he raises a widows son back to life so that he may care for his mother.
